"Izaya if you don't mind me saying your brother is creepy," Shizuo whispered to the informant who merely smiled.

"I know isn't he amazing," Izaya sighed almost nostalgically as if recalling a fond memory.

Shizuo sweat dropped at the info broker's behavior. With a sigh he asked, trying to get the men to focus, "Well what's the first step just go walking around and look for demons?"

"Not without doing some research first. I am sure with Izaya's resources we can find some demons we can harvest a few strong souls from," Sebastian replied.

"Yes, I do prefer human souls, but if I must stomach demon souls I guess there is no choice. You would be surprised to know just how many demons actually like in Tokyo," Izaya stated crossing his arms over his chest.

Shizuo blinked in amazement, "Are there a lot of them?"

"Oh yes you see demons or any paranormal creature like to take up resident in places that are spiritually enriched. Tokyo is one of them you could possibly say Japan in general. This place is a location connected with the spirit world, which is why Japan's history is heavily entrenched in the supernatural," Izaya explained.

Nodding his head finding it hard to disagree, Shizuo muttered, "I guess that makes sense, so being the expert informant you are you made sure to keep information on the demons in the area."

"Oh you flatter me Shizu-chan! Of course I did in fact you would shock to hear you actually have been face to face with some," Izaya chuckled when Shizuo looked clueless as to what Izaya was saying.

Snickering as a sudden thought crossed his mind Izaya elaborated, "Those people you chase down escaping their debts a few of them are actually demons disguised as humans."

"Did you know that you are feared amongst the lower demons? The lower demons aren't that much stronger than a strong human. They hold advantages in having powers, but for the most part their physical strength isn't much. As a result someone like you who possess higher demon-like strength strike fear in their hearts?" Izaya added.

Sebastian chuckled in amusement, "Oh yes that is quite a feat for a human without being a trained demon hunter or someone of holy powers. It is praiseworthy that you are able to make a demon fear you even if they are lower ones."

Shizuo only shrugged his shoulders in response, "I guess human or demon it doesn't matter to me. As long as they don't piss me off and pay off their debts then I won't have to kick their asses."

"You're so easy to please," Izaya purred making Shizuo blush a bit, the informant's eye lowered demurely.

Sebastian cleared his throat, "Ahem well since you already have a list to work with then we best prepare. For tonight we go demon hunting,"

"Yes, demons do prefer to roam at night taking advantage of the darkness when they go prowling for human souls," Izaya agreed.

"Speaking from experience?" Shizuo asked rhetorically.

"Yes… you get less attention that way," Izaya replied ignoring the sarcasm.

Sebastian clapped his hands to gather their attention once more, "Children please back on task. If you do indeed plan to accompany us then you we need to be outfitted for the mission."

"You as well Izaya you may have the knowledge to combat demons, but you are in human body you will need have proper protection," Sebastian said with a wicked smile forming on his face.

A sudden predatory smile came across the information broker's lips mirroring his brothers, "Oh looks like we're going on a field trip. I hope you have some time off saved up Shizu-chan this might take a while."

Looking at the two brothers made Shizuo regret ever agreeing to help, "Why do I feel like I made a big mistake?"

Upon hearing this comment the two dark-haired men laughed to themselves.

"So we're at a shrine… why?" Shizuo asked. The three men stood in front of a normal looking temple. It was night so the place was rather deserted.

"Come on, haven't you watched any anime or read any manga as a child? Even if it's from works of fiction they do hold a ring of truth to them. We're going to get a few items to help us fight demons and protect us. Though I'm sure Sebastian will handle the actual combat," Izaya said.

[Yes, but make haste I would hate to get into a fight with a particularly strong priest or priestess here. If one happens to sense that I'm a demon then I might have to get rid of them. We want to do this with as little human bloodshed as possible after all.] Sebastian said to Izaya.

[That and it would cause a scene. I know how to cover one's tracks well, however when dealing with the supernatural it never hurts to exercise a bit of caution.] Izaya replied.

Shizuo noticed that the two black-haired men grew quiet. Turned to face them to see they were looking at each other in silence, Shizuo coughed, "You're both doing your telepathic thing again, aren't you?"

At being caught the crimson-eyed men tried to look apologetic and failed. "By the way are you sure it's okay to come onto the shrine's grounds?" Shizuo questioned Sebastian who looked almost pleased Shizuo asked.

"It will be fine I'm strong enough that the holy enhanced grounds won't harm me. I've even visited a few cathedrals in the past. They are quite magnificent, but the Japanese places of worship are quite a sight to behold as well," Sebastian said looking at the stunning landscape.

"So how do we do this?" Shizuo asked when suddenly Sebastian pulled out a long briefcase out of nowhere and placed it on the ground.

Izaya took over where his brother left off, opened the case to show off what were inside: An exquisitely crafted katana and naginata. Both their hilts were wrapped in intertwining ebony and crimson. There were strange symbols engraved on them that Shizuo could not read, but he appreciated their beauty.

"These weapons are made to absorb energy and use them for combat. I can't truly use a holy weapon to its fullest due to my demon soul, but you can. Take the naginata and strike the ground, it will take in the excess energy of the area into itself," Izaya stated.

Shizuo bent down and removed the naginata, once out of its confines it reassembled into its full form. Admiring the sharp blade Shizuo's eyes widen when the spiritual energy of the temple became visible, the colors being an ethereal blue that seemed to be entering the weapon.

"Ka-Shu," Shizuo could now read the symbols quite clearly.

Sebastian smiled, "It seems that the weapon accepted you. Before you ask it is the fact you can read the words means the naginata wishes for you to wield it. To anyone else it would only be gibberish."

"I must say the name is simple, yet fitting. The naginata's name has two meanings, relating to its power and nature. Fire Lord for its abilities to create and control fire, then there is Peace Guard for the weapon's disposition," Izaya informed.

"You mean Ka-Shu is alive?" Shizuo asked, never realizing how he referred to the weapon by its name.

Izaya smirked, "Yes it is sentient." Izaya then removed the katana from the briefcase as the sword began to glow ominously in a swirl of the blue-colored energy from the temple and a dark crimson energy that poured out of Izaya's body.

"Kan-Tetsu is the katana's name. It means flowing water spell which indicates the ability to create and control water. However there is also the nature of Kan-Tetsu due its name it could also mean perfect strike," Izaya explained.

Sebastian looked at the blade in appreciation, "A fine weapon for you, I imagine they also hold other powers you will both have to discover. Though I have a feeling you already have an idea, don't you Izaya."

To which Izaya only chuckled, "It reminds me quite a bit of another weapon from this anime. If so then I know a pair of Otaku who would be quite jealous if they ever were to find out."

Shizuo grunted, "So now that we have the weapons and shit, can we leave I have a bad feeling about staying here any longer."

"Yes you should listen to your blond friend, he speaks the truth," A rather slimy voice spoke out from the shadows of a large Sakura tree.

Izaya leered, "Well now whatever have you done to the priest of this shrine?"

Shizuo looked on in brief confusion the man stepped into the light. He was dressed in priest robes and seemed unassuming. His appearance was of a middle-aged bald man with dark brown eyes.

However Shizuo's instincts were driving him crazy. "Something stinks," Shizuo growled.

Izaya and Sebastian turned to Shizuo then glanced at each other before Izaya shrugged his shoulders.

"Shizu-chan always stated he could smell me. Maybe demons have a unique scent or perhaps this could mean he possesses the ability to sense me. Thus he can do so for other demons," Izaya theorized.

Sebastian nodded, "Yes that could explain why he hated you on sight and why he was irritated by my mere presence. This might be the case for other demons he's come across."

"Oh so you are aware of my little deception that's too bad I had a very nice thing going on here. Humans are too foolish sometimes to trust someone based on appearances. I dressed like a priest therefore I am one, so they trust me and their souls," The man grinned wickedly. His teeth gained sharpness to them, his eyes began to glow a sickening green to match the complexion his skin took.

"But things don't have to end, I could just kill you all and no one will be the wiser," The fake priest smiled, a long serpent-like tongue licked his lips.
