Kiss me….or not Chapter 4

After lunch my mother and father sat me down in the kitchen while everyone else left.

"Armeda, there are things we should have told you a long time ago but we believe you're ready to hear them now," My mother grabbed my hands in hers, her globes of blue held great sadness.

"We didn't grow up here, we came from a pack about a hundred miles south of here," my father went on. "You're mother and I had grown up together and I knew she was my mate after the first time I shifted," he kissed my mother's hand sweetly, "We were attacked by the Red Cloud Pack a week after I gained my Alpha position. I tried my best to protect the pack but my father told me to take our youngest recruits and run here for protection. Alpha Robert had agreed to let us take the Beta position, knowing our Alpha blood was too strong to take a position lower than that. All but ten of our members remain now, not even our own parents made it out," my father looked at my mother, taking her in for a hug as her tears fell down her cheeks.

"We only stayed here until Devon was two. They had found our location and we had to leave right away. We promised to return as soon as our youngest had shifted, so we could take our positions as the beta family," he explained further.

I just looked at them for a while, processing everything they said. Things started to make sense know. Why I never met my grandparents and why my parents never mentioned them. Why nothing made sense before and why I phased into a monster.

"I sure hope that clears everything up for you," my father's eyes locked on mine, trying to find out what was going through my mind.

"It does, but I don't see why you kept it from me for so long," I whispered.

"We waited until we were positive you were ready to hear the truth," my mom said wiping away the last of her tears.

"I need to go for a run," I lifted myself off the couch and ran outside. I jumped over the rail surrounding the balcony and phased mid-air, sprinting into the woods. How could they keep things like that from me? I felt as though my whole life had been a lie. My mother and father's lives were all a lie. I understand to a point but I was tired of being confused and having secrets kept from me. My white wolf slowed down as we reached a clearing. I walked to the middle and laid down, trying not to think about everything I was just told.

I walked back into the pack house around midnight, trying not to make too much noise.

"Where have you been?" I jumped ten feet in the air and turned to see two coal black eyes staring at me.

"Jacade, you scared me!" I held my chest.

"Where were you?" He repeated, expecting my answer.

"I was in the clearing," I shrugged, walking by him.

"Do you have any idea how worried I was? I thought something happened to you," his voice was like ice, piercing me with each word.

"I didn't know you cared so much," I mumbled, grabbing a drink from the fridge.

"I'll be your Alpha someday, of course I care," he held the bridge of his noise.

I just ignored him, walking upstairs to my bedroom. He was hiding something, and I'm pretty sure I knew what it was. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him.

"You could have been hurt," he spat.

"Well I'm fine, not a mark on me," I smiled.

"It's not funny, I've never been so worried in my life and I don't know what's going on with me!" he looked confused, his eyes showed mixed emotions.

"Cool your storm," I placed my hand over his heart, looking in his eyes. He took a deep breath and placed his hand over mine, causing sparks to fly. We were mates. I ran upstairs before he could stop me.
