Chapter 4: Reunion

Disclaimer: I don't own Elfen lied or Star Wars.

Kouta awoke in a soft bed. He felt lightheaded, he couldn't see anything even though his eyes were open. He assumed he was put into a bacta tank with a large dose. He felt a pair of feminine hands caressing the sides if his head. He just assumed it was Arruna.

"Wakey wakey, buddy." Bando said. "You were out for about forty five minutes."

"Yes, you had suffered massive internal bleeding but you should be fine now." A male voice said. It must've been the doctor. "We gave you strong doses in a bacta tank mixed with small doses of kolto. It did leave blindness, though."

"Shit." Kouta said.

"Don't fret, it's only temporary. Give it about fifteen minutes and you should be fine."

Kouta felt a lot more relieved now. It wouldn't be the first time he was temporarily blinded though.

He felt the hands caressing his head and arrived at the assumption that Arruna thought he was going to die when he was reviving everyone. He didn't want to feel arrogant but he knew that he meant a lot to her. Arruna was just a street urchin as a little girl. the day she met Kouta and Bando she was about to be killed by some random thugs but they shot them and took her in. Arruna looked to Kouta as a father but Kouta felt a more sibling relationship between them.

"Yeah, Bacta is meant to heal, not blind." He said with a small laugh. "But mix it with kolto, well... That's different."

"So what caused me to hit the floor and cough up my own blood?" Kouta said yet again.

"When you were using the Force on those pods, you put a giant strain on the midi-chlorians in certain areas of your body, causing internal bleeding. You passed out from blood loss."

"I guess I need to take it easy, then." Kouta said as he rubbed his forehead.

"No shit." Bando said.

Suddenly something hit his mind, he must've still be groggy from the medicine. Kouta sat up in his seat.

"Be honest with me Bando. Did it work?" Kouta asked in the most serious yet pleading voice ever. "Are they alive?"

There was a short pause.

"Some people can't be replaced." Bando said.

Kouta just lay back down in the bed again. He felt completely defeated at this point. He had failed. Lucy, Yuka and all of the others were still dead.

Out of nowhere, he felt the same female hands touch the sides of his head again but more firmly, followed by a pair of lips connecting with his own. He froze for a second. When the kiss ended, he heard Bando snicker.

"But luckily some don't have to be." Bando said.

"What… WHA-?!" Kouta stuttered.

"I love you, Kouta." A very, very familiar voice said.

"LUCY?!" Kouta shouted in joy. "HOLY SHIT! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT WORKED !"

Kouta shot up out of his bed, but tripped and fell over due to his eyesight loss, which was beginning to wear off. He stood up immediately and felt Lucy embrace him in a tight hug. He eagerly wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

"NII-SAMA!" A little girl's voice said. "I want a hug too!

"K-k-Kanae?" Kouta stuttered. "Is that you?"

He immediately felt Kanae wrap her arms around his waist. He immediately figured out that she was still the same little girl as before. Lucy moved to the side and allowed Kouta to pick up Kanae and hug her tightly. Kanae threw her arms around his neck firmly.

"Don't forget about us!" Another female voice said. "Where's our hugs?"

"YUKA?!" Kouta shouted. "How many people are alive now?!" Kouta couldn't be any happier than he was right now.

Suddenly he felt numerous arms tackle him right back onto the bed.

"Everyone." Bando said simply.

"Hey Kouta." The doctor said. "I found something to help with the blindness."

"What is it?" He said as he was still laughing out of joy as he received hugs from the various people.

"A serum made with bacta in it." The doctor replied. "If you'll allow me to inject it, it'll negate the effects of the bacta/kolto solution we gave you."

"Stick me, doctor." Kouta said. "I want to be able to SEE them again."

The doctor stuck the needle into Kouta's neck and pumped his veins full of the solution. Kouta felt lightheaded again but he saw the blurriness of his vision clear within a few moments.

He saw them.

Every last one of them.

Lucy, Yuka, Nana, Mayu, Kanae, his parents, and even Kurama. They were all wearing the same skin tight black jumpsuits that people in the cryo graves wore.

His father had an arm wrapped around his mother. Nana was hugging Kurama's arm. Kanae and Lucy were still hugging him.

"It's been so long." Kouta said. "Too long."

"How long exactly?" Kurama asked.

"24,000 years." Kouta said as if he just blown their minds, and he did.

"WHAT?" Lucy said. "That long?"

"Yep, like I said. It been too long." Kouta said as he held her against him.

Yuka came up to him and hugged him as well. Kouta couldn't believe it. Everyone was alive again. He saw how Kanae was still the same little girl as before. He saw Lucy was just as beautiful as ever. His parents were still relatively young too, considering Hugh was in his early thirties and Mai was in her late twenties. Mai herself was around 5'5 she had long shoulder length chestnut hair, blue eyes and a pretty face.

HUgh and Mai approached Kouta and observed him intently.

"My boy is all grown up now." Mai said. "You even look to be around my age. I missed so much of your life."

"Well, you're here now and that's all that matters. Am I right?" Kouta said as he hugged his mother.

"That's for sure."

Kouta looked up and scanned the room. He just now noticed that Arruna was gone.

"Hey Bando, where's Arruna at?"

"She went to get the Hawk and park it on the roof." Bando said. "She also went to get some clothes for everyone. Those jumpsuits just won't cut it."

"The Hawk?" Lucy said confusingly.

"It's our ship." Kouta said as he casually wrapped his arm around Lucy. "The Ebon Hawk."

"Ship?"

"Follow me."

Kouta and Bando led the group out of the medical facility and onto the sidewalk. They had just been introduced to the galactic capital, Coruscant. The high city skyscrapers were amazing. The speeders and ships in the air were fantastic.

"Where on earth are we?" Kurama asked.

Kouta snickered.

"Yeah... Earth." He said sarcastically.

"Wait, you mean we're on a completely different planet?" Kurama asked, picking up on his sarcasm.

"Absolutely." Kouta said with a smirk. "This planet is called Coruscant. It's the capital for the intergalactic government 'The Republic.'"

"Whoa." Lucy said. "Where is Earth?"

Kouta looked at the ground and back to Lucy. He had to tell her that Earth was gone.

"It's gone." He said gloomily. "Wars and disaster made it inhospitable to live on."

They were all sad to hear that their home was gone. From the maple inn, to that lovely beach.

"That's… sad to hear." Lucy said.

"Don't be too sad, guys." Kouta reassured. "If you want a planet that's a lot like Earth in many ways, then we should go to Naboo some time. It's beautiful there. Green grass, blue skies, and amazing cities."

"How many planets are there that are people able to go to?" Yuka asked.

"Too many to count that's for sure." Kouta answered.

Kouta felt his waist. His belt with his blaster and lightsaber was gone.

"Hey Bando. Where's my belt?"

"Huh? Oh… you left it on the speeder, so it must be at the Hawk."

Suddenly, the Ebon hawk flew overhead and landed on the roof of the medical facility.

"Speak of the devil."

"Was that your ship?" Lucy asked.

"Yup." Kouta said.

"It looked big."

"It IS big."

The group made their way up the medical facility and were heading to the roof when they were stopped by the human male doctor.

"Listen Kouta." The doctor said. "Try not to use that power for a while. It really messed up your insides. If you lay off it for a while, it should go down."

"Okay. Don't worry, I don't plan on walking into danger like I usually do. Not for a while."

"I also took a blood sample from Miss Yuka to see if there's a connection between your immortality and their death from illness."

"Found anything?" Kouta asked.

"I haven't examined it yet." The doctor said. "But don't worry, I'll call you if I find anything."

"Thanks."

The group made their way upstairs, navigating the various hallways and rooms. Those who were just revived had been amazed at the design of the buildings. They had looked so different than back on earth. There were droids everywhere along with various alien races. Lucy assumed that her horns being shown in public wouldn't be a big deal considering all of the various aliens seemed to be welcomed. They reached the entrance of the facility's rooftop. Kouta and Bando exchanged a glance and smirk. They hit the switch to the door and it flew open to reveal The Ebon Hawk in all of its glory.

"Is that yours?!" Mai asked in astonishment. "It's huge!"

"Me, Bando and Arruna pilot this bad boy all over the galaxy." Kouta said with pride.

"We've had her for a thousand years, yet she never gets old. Not a single part on it remains from when we first got her." Bando said.

"That's awesome!" Yuka said.

They noticed that Arruna was waving at them from the windows at the cockpit.

"I assume you guys have already met Arruna?" Kouta inquired.

"Yeah we did." Kurama said. "She seems nice. What's her race called?"

"She's a Twi'lek. There's a lot of them out there."

"This is amazing." Lucy said as she held Kouta's arm.

"Come on." Kouta said to the group. "Instead of standing around with our jaws hanging open like hutt that just won the lottery, why don't we give you guys the full tour, then we can fly over to our place."

They walked up the ramp and into the Hawk shutting the ramp behind them. The ones that had been revived were amazed at how advanced it looked. They didn't know if the ship would be considered nice or not seeing how they don't know intergalactic culture worked, but they loved it.

"To our left is the starboard dormitory." Kouta said. "The beds are cozy and we've had it refitted for them to be bigger and to have bunks. Same goes for port side."

The group looked at the circular hallway to the starboard dorms of The Ebon Hawk. The very hallway of the ship looked cool to them.

"To our left would be the main hold, the med-bay and the ladder to our manned turret. That thing packs a punch."

"A turret?" Mai asked her son. "You have a turret on this thing?"

Kouta knew that the very idea of him owning weapons disturbed his mother but the galaxy may have been amazing, yet it was still dangerous.

"Turbolaser turrets." Kouta said. "Completely operator manned and the seats have armrests along with extra padding for long treks through dangerous or unexplored space. We also have repeater cannons and torpedoes on the sides of the ship that we operate in the cockpit."

Kouta walked under the hatch and in front of the ladder and casually placed his hand on it.

"This thing has gotten us out of so many scrapes. Don't worry, we don't have to use it very often. We mainly just use it for target practice in an asteroid field."

Bando got Kouta's belt that carried his blaster pistol and lightsaber and gave it to the later. The group didn't notice this because they were all looking up the hatch at the Turbolaser seat for a brief moment. Kouta then led them to the hanger that housed their speeder. Bando however went to the cockpit to prep the ship for takeoff when they finished the tour of the Hawk.

"This is our hanger bay and workshop. It's pretty obvious what this room is for." Kouta said.

"What is that thing?" Hugh asked, motioning towards the speeder.

Kouta looked back at the vehicle. He started walking towards it, standing next to his father.

"That's our speeder. We use it to get around in cities and such. It doesn't have any weapons on it but we don't usually find ourselves in situations that would require any."

Kouta led the group to the main hold of the ship that contained various monitors and chairs and connected to the hallway to the cockpit.

"This is the main hold. It's basically our little war room." Kouta said. He pointed at the holo projector at the very center. "That device is a hologram projector that acts as a form of communication and display. It's very useful."

"On the other end would be the hall to the storage room and port dormitory."

Kouta led them to the hallway leading to the cockpit of the ship. They stepped into the room that contained the four chairs for manning the ship, two of which were occupied by Bando and Arruna.

"Hey guys." Arruna said happily. "What do you think of the ship?"

"It's amazing!" Yuka said. "I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes."

"I agree." Kurama said. "This vessel is indeed a technological wonder."

"You thought that was cool, then just watch this." Arruna said as she turned back to face the console.

"You guys might wanna hang on." Kouta said.

"I can see where this is going." Lucy said as she held Kouta's arm tighter.

The Ebon Hawk lifted off of the roof of the medical facility followed by the retracting of the landing gear. The craft maneuvered into the skyline that would lead back to Kouta and Bando's house. Everyone looked out the window of the ship at the passing buildings.

"This is so cool!" Yuka said.

"Amazing." Mai said.

Time passed quickly as Kouta took over flying the ship as Arruna and Bando took everyone else to get changed out of the black jumpsuits they were revived in and into something more appropriate. It was just basic civilian garments.

Kouta couldn't be any happier than he was now. Everyone he held dear the most was back and he felt like his life was complete. He did notice that Lucy, his parents and sister seemed to be getting along better than he expected. Maybe they didn't remember her.

He heard footsteps behind him. He looked to see that Lucy was in the cockpit with him, smiling happily. She walked next to him and gave him a quick kiss.

"Hey Lucy. Are you feeling okay after being dead for several thousand years." He joked as he switched the ship to autopilot and tuned the seat around. Lucy sat in the chair behind him.

"Never felt better." She said. "Look, you don't need to worry about your family hating me or anything like that."

"Yeah, that's been on my mind for quite a while." Kouta responded.

"They didn't remember me, but Bando talked to them before they could say anything to me. He told them about the DNA voice that I had in my mind, and how it took over my body and killed them."

"Good, good. I can always count on Bando." Kouta said as he felt relieved. "Did he talk to them while I was unconscious?"

"Yeah. Even Kanae understands and she doesn't seem to be afraid of me as much as I thought. I mean, she still is a little weary."

"Don't worry it'll be fine." Kouta said as he stood up and hugged her.

Lucy took Kouta's hand as she walked over to the window of the cockpit and watched the ship automatically soar through the sky.

"This is so amazing." She said with her head leaning against his chest.

"I've been around for so long, yet it's always a beautiful sight." Kouta said as he held her. "If you thought this was beautiful, then wait until we go to space."

"So what's space like?" Lucy asked.

"Yes, what's it like?" Kurama said as he entered the cockpit. "I'm curious as to how it goes between solar systems."

"It uses a jump system called hyperspace travel. Bends space, wormholes, all that jazz." Kouta said nonchalantly

"Interesting. How long does it take to go between systems?"

"Few hours to a day at most. Gotta be careful though, make the wrong calculations and we could fly right into a star."

Yuka walked in wearing her new civilian tunic that most Coruscant citizens wore. She stood next to Kouta watching the ship fly itself through the skies of the city.

"So were are we flying to?" She asked.

"Bando and I own a large house in the residential areas of the capital." Kouta said as he turned back to the steering wheel. "It could house us and so many more people."

Nana, Mayu, Mai, Kanae, Hugh, Arruna and Bando walked into the cockpit, now dressed in civilian garb when Bando had a sudden realization.

"Speaking of which, what are we going to do about sleeping arrangements?"

"Oh that's easy." Kouta said with a casual wave of his hand. "We have two master bedrooms, so mom and dad can share a bed. Nana, Mayu, Yuka and Kanae can take the extra guest rooms. We can easily refurbish those into a more suitable living space for permanent occupants and of course, Arruna and Bando can sleep in their own rooms." Kouta leaned his head next to Lucy. "And I guess you and I can share a bed." He pretended he was being secretive but it was no secret. Lucy blushed slightly.

"Hmm... I like the sound of that." She said with a seductive grin.

Normally Yuka would be extremely jealous at the display of Kouta and Lucy flirting with each other for a brief moment, but she wasn't anymore. She never found a boyfriend when Lucy came back to the inn before they died, most likely because she was sexually active with Kouta due to him and Lucy often having three ways with her. So she wasn't a virgin anymore. She never felt the need to find any form of boyfriend because of those times. She considered Lucy to be a very close friend, despite the fact that she knew about her and Kouta's past together. Their friendship was so solid that neither of them would be jealous of sharing Kouta for the sole purpose of sex.

"Well when you two lovebirds stop ogling each other, we can land." Bando said with a snicker.

"Whoops." Kouta said as he quickly took hold of the wheel and hovered over the landing port of the house.

The house itself was a tall skyscraper that had many rooms. The landing pad was on the roof and there were various large windows. Kouta lowered the Ebon Hawk slowly on to the pad and shut off the engines, the coolant system hissing as it activated.

"Welcome home, everybody." Kouta said.

Kouta led the group out of the Hawk and onto the platform. They were very high up and they could definitely feel the wind. The open platform around them gave them a complete view of the surrounding skyscrapers which dwarfed the small tower home that they would occupy. They saw various rows of speeders and starships that traveled the skies. They saw how the speeders moved in a trail and assumed that they traveled in a sort of sky lane. Most of the larger ships were higher up in the sky and there were fewer in number.

"What a view." Lucy said as she stood next to Kouta.

"It never gets old." Kouta said as he wrapped his arm around Lucy's shoulder and held her close as they walked.

"You said the entire planet was a city?" Kurama asked as he looked at the surrounding skyscrapers.

"Yeah, I did." Kouta said. "Every last bit of it."

"How would this world even be able to sustain itself? Artificial atmosphere?"

"Yeah, this planet manages to to take care of itself pretty well, but this isn't the only planet that is an entire city. There's Nar Shadda, and Taris."

"Interesting." Kurama said as they walked towards the door.

The made their way to the doorway of an elevator that led down into the house. Kouta hit the switch and the doors slid open to reveal a large metallic platform that was the elevator. They all managed to fit on it and still have extra room. The doors slid shut and the platform started descending. They had only waited there for a few seconds before the doors slid open to reveal the comforts of a Coruscant home.

"Wow... This is wonderful." Lucy said.

Outside of the door was the living room to the house. To the left was the hallway which had the doors to several bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. To the left was the door to the kitchen and dining room. The most impressive part was the living room which had a nice dark blue carpet, a circular desk with a hologram projector and computers for entertainment and business purposes. On the far end was a glass window wall which had a metal balcony that had two chairs and a small table which gave a perfect view of the city. To the far left corner was another glass wall which connected to the kitchen and had a long couch and love seat, along with a large flat screen TV. To the far right corner that was opposite the TV and sofa was the door that lead to the master bedroom which is where Kouta and Lucy would sleep. The master bedroom was large and the bed was at the far end and the wall next to it was entirely a glass wall which made for a wonderful thing to wake up to.

"Make yourselves at home guys." Kouta said. "I'm sure you'll enjoy it here."

"You live here?!" Kanae asked her brother.

"Yeah, and we even have houses on other planets." Kouta said happily to his little sister. She was just as cute as ever.

An hour passed and everyone managed to get comfortable in the home. Kouta and Bando managed to teach them how to use basic things like doors and restrooms, since they were very different than on Earth. Kouta and Lucy were out on the balcony just watching city life on Coruscant go on as the sun began to set. Kouta had his arm wrapped around Lucy as she rested her head on his shoulder. Kouta had never been happier in his entire life. That wasn't to say he was unhappy for the past 24,000 years. He did manage to find love but none of those women could've replaced Lucy to him. The only woman who came close was Juhani, Kouta loved her because she was so much like Lucy in many ways. But now, His family was back.

"So do you like the view?" Kouta asked.

"It's fantastic." Lucy responded with a smile. "Everything is. That ship, this house, this entire planet. I still can't get over the fact that this planet is just one big city."

"There are so many worlds that I'm just dying to take you guys to." Kouta said happily.

"What kind of worlds are there?"

"This is Coruscant, which is probably the most important planet in the Galaxy." Kouta said.

"How come it's so important?" Lucy asked curiously.

"It's home to the Galactic republic; which is the galaxy's government, the main Jedi temple is located here, various trade routes pass through here and it's one of the most entertainment oriented places ever."

"I guess that makes sense." Lucy said. "Anyway, what's this Jedi thing that you mentioned?"

"The Jedi are people who are devoted to the study of the Force which is this mystical energy that resides around all of us and within us. I'm not a Jedi but I know how to use the Force like them and I have a lightsaber like them."

"Is that thing attached to your belt a lightsaber?" Lucy asked as she motioned to the weapon on his belt.

Kouta removed his lightsaber from his belt and held it in front of him.

"Yeah it is." He said. As he released his grip from it and levitated it with the force.

"What the?" Lucy said, stunned.

Kouta looked at her and smirked.

"That's one of the many uses of the force."

"Looks like me and Nana aren't the only ones who can make objects float." Lucy joked.

The sun began to slowly set behind the various skyscrapers and the air was getting cold so Kouta and Lucy went inside the house. The next few hours were spent just eating dinner and just catching up on the galaxy and things they needed to know.

Dinner was nice. They had nerf steak and potatoes so they ate pretty well. They had really gotten to know each other pretty well. Kouta and Bando told stories of their adventures across the galaxy along with describing their job in the republic military force. They had also discussed various things to do tomorrow.

"I ate like a Bantha." Kouta said as he undressed himself for bed. He wore just a set of pajama pants and no shirt.

"I'm surprised at how good the meat was." Lucy said as she undressed herself, wearing nothing but a white tank top and her panties.

"Yeah, Nerf do make for a finer meat." Kouta said as he slid in to bed next to Lucy.

"I'm not surprised that it's considered fine meat, because that was delicous." Lucy said as she cuddled up to Kouta by resting her palm on his chest and him holding her with one arm.

"I didn't think that when I woke up this morning, that I would be eating fine meat with you and everyone else from Earth." Kouta said with a smile.

"You know something Kouta?" Lucy said as she gently rubbed his upper torso in a loving fashion.

"What's that, Lucy?" Kouta asked as he slightly rubbed her shoulder with his thumb.

"It feels like this is a new life, not just because we're in an unusual environment, but because it's a fresh new start. No hate or guilt come back to haunt us."

"You have a point there." Kouta said. "Mom, Dad and Kanae all seem to be getting along with you."

Kouta rolled over to face Lucy. His bright blue eyes meeting her crimson eyes.

"Everything will be fine. Trust me." He reassured her.

Lucy smiled at him. How she loved him.

"I love you, Kouta."

"I love you, too." Kouta said

They stared into each other's eyes for a few brief moments before Lucy slowly moved towards him and kissed him. The kiss lasted for a small while before Kouta pulled away gently. They looked into each other's eyes again. They both knew what they wanted. Lucy gently smiled and nodded at him. He didn't need to be told twice.

For the next hour, they made love. They needed this so badly. They had been apart for countless years. The moment they were finished, they collapsed in each other's arms out of exhaustion.

In a small hanger bay on Coruscant, the black tide had been parked there with Branu and Tila inside. Tila had been refueling the ship while Branu searched public records of republic special forces.

"Have you found out who this guy is yet?" Tila asked as she hooked the pump to the outer hull's fuel slot.

"I think so." Branu replied from the inside of the ship. "His name is Kouta Fisher. It says he's a decorated republic commando charged with the duty of receiving operations while traversing the galaxy. His notable skills include exceptional use of the Force and he's a lethal swordsman."

"No wonder they sent this guy. He's not a Jedi, yet he has all the same abilities as one."

"I just hope he's willing to talk. I don't want to fight him." Branu said.

"Are you sure this guy knows what species you belong to?" Tila asked.

"Not entirely, but he's my best lead." Branu replied.

"Don't worry, Branu." Tila reassured him. "I'm sure you'll learn one way or another."

"I hope so. I guess we'll have to look for him tomorrow."

Tila finished refueling the Tide and Branu shut down the computer. They both went to bed aboard the tide and awaited for the next day to come.

Kouta awoke early in the morning to the sight of the city outide his window and Lucy cuddling with him. They were both still nude from their lovemaking last night.

"So yesterday wasn't a dream." He thought to himself.

He looked at Lucy, who was starting to wake up. She slowly opened her eyes and tried to fight the grogginess. She looked at Kouta with half opened eyes and smiled.

"Morning, beautiful." Kouta said. "Sleep well?"

"I did, especially after last night." She said seductively. She closed her eyes and kissed him.

She pulled away and rested her head on his bare chest and they made small talk about what they planned to do that day. It was only after about 15 minutes that the communicator on Kouta's nightstand began to signal him. He leaned over to see who it was. It read 'Dr. Cal Oldin'. That was the doctor that had treated Kouta when passed out from blood loss. It said urgent. Kouta hit answer on the device.

"Hello doctor." Kouta said.

"Good morning Kouta, I'm sorry to bother you this early in the morning but I discovered something that you may want to know." Cal said.

"What's that?" Kouta said as Lucy looked at him curiously.

"The source for your's and Bando's immortality."

Sorry there wasn't any action packed space battles, lightsaber duels or blaster fights in this chapter, but fear not, shit is about to hit the fan.
