Sound

Penelo would like very much to start screaming.

It's not the fiends that have made the ancient city their home, or the giant crystal in the distance, or even that Giruvegan is apparently the city of the gods.

It's the silence.

There is, of course, the sound of their footsteps (too many, it seems, too loud, for their little group, and it's difficult not to turn around and shout "Who's there?" at the emptiness), and the stomp of the Behemoths ahead. There is the static-like sound of the barriers being released. However, they make no difference.

She wishes for something, anything to break through the quiet, and her wish is granted. Admittedly, it's not in the way she'd hoped, though she supposes she should have expected it, and when the dragon comes barreling down at them from what seems like nowhere at all, she lets out the scream she's been holding in.

Penelo is now very, very careful to be much more specific when she wishes for something.
