Sorry for another long wait! But here's another chapter! Enjoy!
Rachel woke up in a sweat for the third night in a row. She looked around frantically. It was okay. It was just a nightmare. She pulled her knees to her chest and began rocking back and forth. These were unlike any nightmares she'd ever had before. They were vivid and scarier than anything. She quietly sobbed. Why couldn't these stupid nightmares leave her alone?
Kyoto looked at Rachel. For the third day in a row, she came out with dark circles under her eyes and tear stained cheeks. Kyoto would've guessed that it was because of sleepless nights, but that wouldn't make sense, as the girl was still at full strength. Lloyd seemed to be comforting the girl, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. Kyoto wondered what was wrong, but knew it wasn't any of her business.
She turned back to her plate, taking another bite of the pancake. Zane was an amazing cook. She had piled two pancakes onto her plate, drowning it in strawberries. The sugary sweet taste lingered in her mouth as she tried to savour as much as she could.
"Kyoto, I am glad you enjoy my cooking," Zane said graciously.
Kyoto blushed. "Well, it's delicious!" She put another bite into her mouth, giving a thumbs up to the ninja. Swallowing, she started up a new topic. "Could you train me today, Zane?"
Zane was slightly taken aback by the question. She was requesting him to train her? Did it matter who trained her?
He was about to answer, when Rachel let out an insane laugh, causing everyone to stare her way. She was laughing like a hyena, a crazy smile plastered on her face.
Lloyd looked worried and freaked out. "Could someone tell me what's wrong with my girlfriend?"
Sensei Wu took the girl's hand, examining the palm. Then, he made a deep cut. Lloyd was freaking out more, until the cut produced blue blood. "Just as I suspected," the elder sighed. "She's been poisoned, mostly likely by Peyton, Haddon and Peter. This poison spreads throughout the blood, causing the victim to go insane. It turns blue in places it has spread to. It always starts at the hands and finished at the head. It also causes nightmares, explaining Rachel's lack of sleep."
"Can we stop it?!" Lloyd asked, frantically.
"There is one way. By retrieving the Blue Fire Flower from the top of Mount Firnauos. It is a five day trip, by flying. I fear we do not have enough time," Sensei said, sadly.
Kyoto tossed Lloyd a roll of bandages, as Rachel's cut was bleeding heavily. "Maybe," the Japanese girl began, "we can boost the rockets boosters. Like, adding more speed. It might decrease the time. We could get there in three days instead!"
Nya and Jay exchanged glances. "I think we could do that," Nya replied, smiling.
"Get to it!" Sensei demanded. "We must try to save Rachel!"
