[ 04: Emotions For One ]
:{Third POV}:
"Thank you all so much for choosing to take this invitation, we welcome all teams here wholeheartedly!" The Winter Cup official stated in a loud voice as he looked over each team gathered. "I am Watsunabi Renko, and I will be in charge of this camp." The elder man with slightly grey hair waved his hand out to the adults standing behind him. "These will be your instructors who will be training you. We have a special training regimen set up for all teams and players, so be prepared to receive the best-of-the-best support during your stay here."
"Heh, I'm getting pumped for this." Kagami muttered loud enough for Seirin to hear, though he was not the only one getting excited.
"Your coaches will have your schedule for you, including where you will be staying during your residing here. Thank you, and I will be available at any time for questions or comments." And with that, the lead official was done.
There were three major dorm areas for the teams, so there would be two teams sharing one dorm together. All dorms were linked by pathways to the main stadium building (where they were at currently). Outside the dorms and main building were other buildings that housed separate indoor basketball gyms, locker rooms, a track area that led to the wilderness, a swimming pool, and one outdoor basketball court. It was heaven for basketball enthusiasts.
"Okay," Riko had turned to her players instantly with a clipboard. "Dorm 1 will have our team while Shutoko will be the ones to share it with."
"Dorm 2 will have Yosen with Rakuzan, and Dorm 3 will have Touou and Kaijou. Any questions?" Yosen's coach said and looked up at her players, who didn't seem to have any questions. "We can go there to get our rooms situated before heading back here for lunch. Understood?"
"Ma'am!" The players nodded, and they started exiting out of their designated walkways.
"Why can't I be in a dorm with Kurokocchi?" Kise whined as he latched on to the bluenette — who had been standing a few feet away from him during the speech.
Kuroko looked slightly disturbed by something. "Kise-kun, please get off. You will have Aomine-kun to board with."
Kise wanted to say, But that isn't you! But before he could, Touou's ace was pulling him harshly away. "C'mon, Kise. Lay off of Tetsu and let's get going."
Kuroko just watched his ex-teammates walk off, his careful mask in place.
. * .
It was hard for them all, for all of the Generation of Miracles, to be around the object of their affections.
Yes, the most elite high school basketball players all loved Kuroko Tetsuya. In a more-than-a-friend type of love.
It all started back in middle school really... Upon first sight, the boy was small and fragile-looking and didn't seem to have a whole lot of talent. But he also had a kind of... ethereal beauty to him. It made you stare for too long when you were actually able to see him, since he moved like a shadow or phantom. He was a mystery to everyone, one that drew people in.
As time progressed, and they were able to witness his stunning growth, he became more open with them. The trust he freely gave to them made each bond worth something. They couldn't help but gouge every reaction and facial expression the phantom made.
It was addicting to be rewarded with a smile.
Before any of them knew it, each person of the Generation of Miracles had grown feelings for the phantom sixth man. It was something that shouldn't have happened, or at the very least, should have seen coming before it hit them all at once.
Craving for attention was maddening for the five boys, and realizing that your other teammates shared similar feelings toward the bluenette only made matters worse.
When middle school came to a brutal end, they still hadn't sorted out the fact that all of them romantically liked Kuroko Tetsuya. Separating into different high schools wasn't such a bad idea, since none of them would regularly see each other...
It didn't wane their feelings for their shadow, though.
Through the matches at Winter Cup, and some even before the championship, they were able to realize it. Through Kuroko's efforts to win against them using his and his team's basketball, it was like they were able to wake up one-by-one. They were able to love the sport that brought them all together, and experience the excitement and happiness once more like back when they first started basketball.
More than that, through Seirin's winning, they were able to see that they loved the phantom shadow. The elusive boy captivated them, and they wanted nothing more than to be with him once more, not as opponents on the court, but as best friends hanging out together once more. Fighting, laughing, and smiling together...
It brought bittersweet memories back to the surface, and with the trip that was announced to them, they all decided. They would show how much they loved him, and try to get him to fall in love too...
With one of them. See, it was a friendly competition between the five Miracles now, on who could win Kuroko's heart.
It got their blood pumping like nothing else.
"Okay, so this is Seirin's side of the dorm. There's the common area we walk into, which can be used by everyone for entertainment." Riko explained, as she gestured to the TV, games, and sitting areas. "Off to the side is the laundry room, where you'll all be responsible for washing your own clothes." She told them with a threatening look that said she wasn't about to baby them. "Then there's a small kitchen in that area that we're all free to use. Just remember to label your drinks and snacks with your name. I don't want to hear any complaints when someone takes your food," explained Riko as the team followed her out of the common area and into a large hallway.
"To the right leads to Shutoko's rooms, and we're in the left wing." Riko told them, and Koganei raised his hand.
"Coach, where does that lead?" The cat-boy pointed to the long hallway leading in front of them.
"That's the bathroom and shower area. From what I know, it's all communal, but there are privacy stalls and showers." The brunette told them and proceeded down the hallway and into the area that was the Seirin's side of the shared dorm. The hallway opened up to a small open area that had doors along the space of the walls.
"There are a total of five rooms here for us, so yes that means you'll have a roommate. Listen carefully for your name to be called with your room. Room 1—Hyuga, Izuki, Teppei. Room 2—Furihata, Kawahara, Fukuda. Room 3—Mitobe, Koganei, Tsuchida. Room 4—Kagami, Kuroko. I'll be in the room here," Riko pointed at the room closest to the door leading out to the main joined hall of the two teams.
"Coach, why do Kagami-kun and Kuroko-kun get a room to themselves?" Furihata asked, and Riko just narrowed her eyes slightly, as if challenging someone to complain about the room arrangements.
"Because you all got the biggest rooms, the room they share is one of the smallest and can only fit two people."
While they were talking, Hyuga was currently freaking out. Just my luck! I get stuck with these two idiots! He thought as Izuki shared a pun with Kiyoshi, who laughed merrily and caused the clutch-shooter to bang his head against the wall.
"All of you can settle in for now, in about thirty minutes all teams will be called to lunch hall." Riko told the boys before she went into her own room — which had its own bathroom attached to it so she wouldn't have to deal with sweaty, smelly boys.
Kuroko and Kagami turned into their room, finding two beds on opposite sides of the room. It seemed with each bed there was an area belonging to each of the boys. They picked their own sides and started using the drawers of the dressers to put their belongings in to. Might as well get comfortable since they would be here a while...
Kuroko settled onto the bed with a sigh. He already felt tired, and it was just noon. He would have to psyche himself up if he wanted to keep up with basketball practice. As far as schedules went, he knew there would be a minor break after everyone eats before starting their first training session.
"Oi, are you okay?" Kagami asked his partner who looked paler than usual, if he got any more white he would literally be a ghost! And that was a scary thought... "You need some water or something?"
"Ah, no I'm okay." Kuroko answered, giving his light a reassuring smile. "Thank you for your concern, Kagami-kun."
Kagami scratched his head awkwardly. "Well just rest up, can't have you passing out during today's practice."
Kuroko just nodded his head, and closed his eyes to rest until they were called to eat.
Thank you so much to everyone reading this so far! :) Comments are very much appreciated~!
