CHAPTER 3

Private Blake Ryan sat on one of the seats in the hangar of the pelican. Sitting across from him is Agent Washington, a Freelancer from command. The now sixteen year old took a glance at the agent. The dark armored trooper hasn't said a word since they left Ryan's new base. "Sooooo," He trailed off, "What's it like being a Freelancer?" He got no answer. 'Of course.' Ryan said dryly in his head.

It's been like this since the two boarded the Pelican drop ship twenty minutes ago. They are currently flying to where Micheal J. Caboose is stationed at. A surprising set of news when Washington ordered the teen to translate the re-location orders.

Looking down to the metal floor, Ryan smiled a little. He's a little happy to see the blue soldier again. The reason for this is because when Ryan got captured Blue Team along with Donut. He got to know Caboose and even Tucker too to a degree. He learned they are not interested in fighting the Red Team and just want to sit around and do nothing. When observing how the Blue's function. Ryan discovered how incompetent they are.

It was and most likely still is on Grif, Simmons, Sarge, and Donut levels. Anyway, Ryan enjoyed the conversations he had with the pair. It felt so refreshing to talk to other people. Though the only person on the Blue Team he doesn't like is Church... the guy is a real asshole. After the defeat of O'Malley. Both teams would have the occasional on and off truce. It was mainly to take a break from the war and just enjoy some down time.

Though Pretty much at the point. Both teams were kinda sick of fighting each other. On a weekly bases, they would even get together to have a movie night... and watch the same movie over and over and over and over again. Till Caboose tried to put a VHS tape into a film projector and broke it. Resulting movie night to be over. Though six days later, Church came to Red Base and asked the Reds for help to make the Reservoir Dogs movie to make Tucker happy.

Grif and Simmons helped out of boredom, Sarge helped because he was gonna be the lead, and Ryan helped because he did feel bad for the aqua trooper. Let's just say it was a trip just to make the trailer. Filming the movie was a true nightmare. Sometime later, both teams were being interviewed by some guy with a camera. No one took it seriously and the camera guy left in anger.

Some more time passes and both teams got re-location orders from both commands. That hit the teen real hard in the gut. While his old team would've mocked him if they knew he has any affection towards them. He was still gonna miss them, they were... no are his friends, his family. While they don't show it, they truly did care for one another.

"How old are you?" Said the sudden voice of Agent Washington. Exiting out from his thoughts and re-entering back into the real world. He looks up at Agent Washington. Gold visor's staring each other.

"I'm sixteen." The teen simply answered. "Really?!" Wash said in surprised tone. Nodding, "Yeah, I was fifteen when I signed up. There was a program that allowed people that young to join. I wanted to be in the UNSC Army, but as you can tell by my armor. That didn't happen, very few teenagers signed up." Ryan finished explaining.

Washington made a hmm sound. "Well anyway, I got questions to ask. You'll answer them truthfully." The teen nodded, "Good, lets begin." For about ten minutes Agent Washington would ask a question and Ryan would answer it truthfully. Given Ryan hasn't had that much contact with the A.I.

His answer were only slightly helpful, "Ok, while you never got infected you still have some experience. You'll be vital to my mission." The agent said. "What is your mission?"

"...You'll find out soon enough."
