Grace sits on the bed and Bo strokes her arm relaxing her. Bo feeds slightly and enjoys the taste of Grace's chi. Bo stops herself and finds that she can control her appetite for Grace. Grace recovers. Bo smiles, "You resisted didn't you?"

Grace nods, "Unsuccessfully." Grace gets out her medical bag.

"Shall I…?" Bo asks.

"The kimono is fine. I just want to listen." Grace says as she puts on her stethoscope. "Take a deep breath." Grace says she applies the stethoscope to Bo's back. The procedure is repeated six times. "Fascinating"

"Really?" Bo asks.

"I read it in your file, but to actually hear it…. You do know that humans have four lobes to their lungs, but you have six. Don't you?"

Bo shakes her head. "It isn't the sort of thing Lauren tells me when she gives me my checkups."

"Hmmmmm." Grace says as she moves around to Bo's front and begins to listen to Bo's heart, which takes a long time. "I'd love to see what a motion scan of your heart would reveal. Perhaps she never mentioned that you have two extra chambers in your heart."

"No, she didn't."

"I would have thought that fae would have evolved from mammals as humans did. I wonder if this arrangement is common to all fae or just succubi."

"Kenzi said Adam could tell it was a fae coming after her and him in the ally."

Grace nods and concentrates, after a moment she smiles. "I can sense that your heartbeat and breathing are different. It is subtle, but it is there. Perhaps he knows….."

The noise from downstairs has changed. It now sounds like some sort of arts and crafts project. Kenzi walks in unannounced. "Hit me with the kimono." Bo takes it off and tosses it to her. Kenzi leaves and Grace is left with a naked Bo. This doesn't bother Bo at all, but Grace is nervous.

"Problem?" Bo asks.

Grace nods "It has occurred to me that that is your 'hunting' outfit."

"Is that a problem?" Bo giggles moving seductively.

"I'm not interested, but I know if you …. I couldn't resist if….."

Bo smiles, "I wouldn't." she says as she goes to her dresser and starts to get dressed. Grace is relieved. From downstairs there is a sound like paper being sliced. "I wonder why Kenzi wanted my kimono?"

"Do you really like the kimono?" Grace asks.

"Yes."

"And Kenzi knows that?"

"Yes."

"You may not want to go down there for awhile…."

"Why?" The Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzp sound is heard again. "Was that my kimono!"

"That sounded like paper, but…."

"But WHAT?"

"He may be teaching her how to judge where the tip of her sword is."

"With MY KIMONO?"

Grace nods. "I've seen some of these men hang two pieces of newspaper a half centimeter apart and slice just the front one. It is very impressive. Using something you care about as the part not to be cut is very motivating." Grace is excited, while she doesn't carry a sword she loves a man with skill and control of his blade.

Bo interrupts "How big is a half centimeter?" Grace holds up her thumb and fore finger about a quarter of an inch apart. "Holy crap!" Bo says as she runs out of the room. "You don't understand! Kenzi hits everything!"

As Bo bounds down the stairs she yelling "STOP! STOP! STOP!"

Arriving in the living room in her underwear she finds two strings about two inches apart with the front one supporting a newspaper and the back one her undamaged kimono. Several long strips of newspaper lay on the floor. Kenzi her sword, "Geraldine", extended near the newspaper. Kenzi and Adam turn their heads toward Bo. "Problem?" Adam asks.

"YES. Give me back my kimono."

"You don't trust your friend?"

"This house is littered with her collateral damage. Sorry Kenz." Kenzi shrugs but looks hurt.

"She wasn't trained."

"And she is now?" Adam pouts a bit. Grace arrives. Bo retrieves her kimono and holds it tightly. A tense standoff ensues.

Grace walks over and stands behind the newspaper. "Go ahead Kenzi."

"I don't want to hurt you." Kenzi says in fear.

"Then don't miss."

Adam is concerned and motions for Kenzi to hold her position. He walks to Grace's side and positions her and whispers "You don't need to do this."

Grace whispers back "They took me in... HAVE you trained her?"

Adam nods, in a whisper he says "This is her first try. I was just giving her a demonstration on control. I wasn't actually going to let her…." Grace has a look of panic. "The point was that she was willing to try…. I think she can do it. Lean back a little and after the blade passes by straighten up." Grace nods. Adam moves back to Kenzi.

"You will learn to know this instantly and instinctually after you have practiced enough. But for now we'll take it slow."

"I don't want to hurt her."

"I'm sure you don't."

"But I might."

Adam nods. "It could happen. It wouldn't be pretty. She will heal, but it will hurt like hell."

Bo looks on in panic, looks down at the kimono she's hugging. As Adam readies Kenzi by having her extend Geraldine and positioning her so the sword barely reaches the newspaper, Bo moves to Grace and pulls her from behind the newspaper and re-hangs her precious kimono. Adam looks to Bo and Grace, smiles and nods.

"Okay Kenzi. You are positioned so just the tip of…."

"Geraldine."

"Geraldine, will barely hit the newspaper. But you must be careful that you duplicate the reach when you swing."

Kenzi swings her sword and the newspaper wafts in the breeze. Kenzi blushes a bit in embarrassment. She readies herself for a second try.

"You moved your feet." Adam says as he goes through positioning her again. On her second swing a large piece of the newspaper falls, the kimono moves but remains in one piece.

Bo exhales, recovers her kimono, and heads back up stairs clutching it tightly. As she goes, Grace, Adam, and Kenzi notice a neat slice through part of the silk. Grace goes to the couch and sits down with a plop. Kenzi's eyes are wide and she quickly puts her sword in the corner of the room and walks away from it flapping her hands. Adam stifles a chuckle. Grace puts her hand on her chest where she would have been sliced.

"I wonder how long…" Adam says.

"Next time she puts it on there will be a draft." Grace observes.

Kenzi paces back and forth, biting the knuckle of her thumb.

"I can get her a new one." Adam volunteers.

"When she was running, before she knew what she was, that kimono was the one thing she managed to keep." Kenzi says as she sits down sharply on the couch and puts her hands to her face.

"Uh oh" Adam says.

"She took me in and I've repaid her by destroying something she loves." Kenzi frets.

"We all had a role in this, but it started with me." Adam says to Kenzi. Turning to Grace he adds "One more reason not to teach."

"I know a seamstress in Paris who could probably fix it, to a point. There will be a slight seam, but you'd have to be looking for it to notice."

"That will be helpful." Adam acknowledges.

From upstairs "KENZI!" Kenzi's head drops.

Grace starts to get up. "I'll talk to her."

"No, I will." Adam says. Grace puts an arm around Kenzi as Adam heads upstairs slowly.
