Harry stirred by three things; Morgan tickling his mind awake, the need to use the water closet, and someone tapping on his door at an ungodly hour.
He slowly got up, and answered the door, Jerome stood there looking all to awake for early morning.
"Come on youngling, time to get started or you're gonna miss breakfast." Jerome greeted
Harry just glared at him and mumbled something, as he got ready for the day.
Jerome grinned, "The Waking bell was an hour ago," he leaned against the doorframe as he waited.
"Still too early why are we up so early the suns not even up yet" as he looked out his window.
Jerome shrugged, "It's just how things are here, and no one's really questioned it, possibly because we have so much to learn."
"You're far to awake to be normal." Harry groaned.
"I've been here, since I was thirteen, I'm used to it." Jerome retorts, "Come on or there isn't going be nothing left but cold porridge."
Harry stomped out the room and made his way to the common room.
"Mental reminder ask parents, if I was ever like that at ten." Jerome muttered to himself, before following after the boy.
As he got his breakfast, he saw that he was the last one to come down and that mostly everyone else was just finishing their food.
"And we wake up early to fill our bellies." Jerome commented as they picked over the leftovers.
Harry just glared and stuffed a roll in his mouth.
"You'll get used to it." Jerome stated as he ate his porridge.
Harry mumbled something very rude and finished his breakfast.
: Harry Ashkevron! That is very rude: Morgan snapped. : And UnHeraldlike.:
He just sighed and brought his tray up to the window. : Just what I need someone else to remind me not to talk like a mercenary:
: So? If you were with me, I would put a hoof print on your bum: Morgan replied. :Right now, you need me to remind you a Herald never curses.:
: But I am not a Herald yet so I got time yet.: he sassed his partner.
Morgan let her emotions plainly speak for her, she was not too happy with her Chosen at the moment.
Jerome smiled, as the Trainees assigned to dishwashing came by and got their dishes, "Come on, we have an appointment with the Herald-Captain."
"Let's go and get this day started" Harry grumbled then got up.
"Do you even know where you are going?" Jerome questioned
Harry stopped right where he was and blushed shaking his head.
"Now you see why older trainees are assigned as mentors." Jerome commented as he led the way to the training grounds and the Salle.
He knocked on the door, and entered the building with mirrors; the place was lit by windows near the ceiling. The blonde woman who did not wear whites that was normal for Heralds on duty, looked up from teaching third-year students, and walked over to asset the newest Trainee.
Herald-Captain Kerowyn looked the newest Trainee up and down, the glasses would be a hindrance, but there was something about the boy that nagged at her. "So what weapons training do you have?"
Harry gulped and spoke" Just some staff work that father showed me."
Kerowyn nods then looked at Jerome, "Beginners with Jeri."
"Yes, Ma'am." Jerome agreed then looked at Harry, "One more thing before your first class."
"What's that?" He asked as they left the Salle.
"To see your Companion, if you don't want too, I can just take you to Basic Orientation with Herald Dirk." Jerome answered
"No, I want to see her." Harry responds a little too eagerly
Jerome laughed, "Nice day like this, they would be out in their Field."
The two went over to the Field, where two Companions were already waiting.
Morgan snorted and swished her tail, at a comment that went unheard by the two Trainees.
Harry came over to Morgan and gave her a hug. : Hey there, show off feel better now:
: I am not a show off; you just did not hear the comment that my fellow Companion told me.: Morgan responds, huffing into Harry's jerkin.
: Oh and what was it: her nuzzled her and ran his hand through her mane.
: You do not want to know: Morgan answered enjoying the contact from her Chosen.
"Tending to her is all up to you now," Jerome explained, breaking Harry out of the daze that went with being newly Chosen. "But now we have to get you to your class."
"That's fine, I took care of our horse back home so I know what to do." Harry responds
"That's good, who knows you might end up in Equestrian class with me." Jerome commented as he led the way back into the Collegium.
Jerome left Harry outside of a classroom; Harry went inside and was greeted by a blonde Herald that was rather homely looking.
"Everyone this is your fifth and final year-mate Harry," the Herald states, "Harry, the one with the blue-black locks is Corina, the one next to her is Stephan, and the ones sitting just to the right and left of the empty seat are Bryan and Rowena. They're twins at least we can tell them apart unlike a pair of twin Heralds, I could name."
