Ah I had almost forgotten...
Sender: Kazehaya
Addressee: Sakaguchi-san
Title: Mission Accomplished, Ambushed
Mission accomplished.
Information was tipped-off to enemies. Hope you catch the rat scampering in your organisation.
Compensation is necessary.
After reporting to Sakaguchi-san, Kazehaya unsheathed her Katana. She skillfully cut the sleeve of her hoodie to use it as make-shift bandage for her shoulder, wrapping over it gently.
Once she sheathed her Katana, she headed into a vicinity that was inhabited by abandoned warehouses. Each warehouse was marked with Alphabets. Despite coming here for the first time, Kazehaya was moving smoothly towards her destination.
If I remember the warehouse should be marked with '2E'
As Kazehaya spotted the warehouse in question, she quietly stepped into it only to find it vacant. At the end of the warehouse was a innocent looking door.
Found it!
Kazehaya grabbed the handle with her left hand and turned it as softly as she could, entering the 'secret' hideout.
*Creak*
She squinted her eyes as bright rays of blue light appeared right in the middle of her sight.
" Don't you always make an appointment with me? Whats with the sudden visit? Acting as my caretaker again? " A guy in his early teens with short brown cropped hair huffed in irritation.
Without answering him, Kazehaya levitated herself and brought her body down the end of a staircase soundlessly.
" I didn't know I had to book an appointment just to visit my friend. Rokuzo-kun." Kazehaya voiced out curiously.
He stood up from his seat, surprised at the unfamiliar voice and turned to her direction in dismayed. "Who are you?" His golden-brown eyes turned hostile at the sight of her.
" This is probably our first time meeting face-to-face," Kazehaya gestured to herself.
" I'm Kazehaya Kano, your online friend and most favored client."
" Kano? How can I trust that you are her?" His animosity lightens a little at the sound of her name.
" Because I'm a lunatic thrill-seeker that loves perilous activities like a passion. Does that sound familiar?" Kazehaya stated nonchalantly.
" That's one accurate description of the Kano I know...So what brings you here to Yokohama?" A sweatdrop appeared as he inquired.
" Not welcoming me with kisses and hugs?
How disappointing...When I finally decided to visit you." Kazehaya sighed with false dejection, ignoring his stutterings.
"Anyway, putting that aside, mind getting me a first aid kit? I don't think I can stay conscious anymore."
A strong stench of metallic iron enveloped the area as droplets of blood seeped out through her make-shift bandage, down her right arm. It formed a small puddle of fresh blood that was gradually widening on the floor
" Why didn't you say it earlier!?" He yelled in agitation, rummaging through his cabinets.
Kazehaya usual warm ivory skin was pale due to blood loss, eyes were slightly glazed over as black spots appeared at the edge of her view.
She wobbled and lost control of her footing, collapsing on her knees. Before Kazehaya could fall straight onto the floor, a pair of warm arms held her up. " Sorry for troubling you" She muttered apologetically.
With that, Kazehaya conscious faded into nothingness.
It has been several hours ever since Kano lost her consciousness.
Rokuzo had lay her on a sofa before stripping her hoodie off to examine her wound. Removing the bullet was a taxing procedure but once it was done, he just had to clean the injury with alcohol, apply ointment, stitched it up and wrapped it with fresh bandages.
Taking out an extra jacket from my cabinet, Rokuzo placed it over her body so that she would not catch a cold.
Turning his gaze towards the female that was sleeping soundly like nobody's business, he let out a sigh of relief that her injury wasn't severe. However, as Rokuzo recalled back to the time when Kano had recognised him from the very start. A question popped out from his mind.
How does she know how I look like in the first place?
We had conversations about our likes and dislikes, exchanged information about our careers which are considered illegal activities and even sharing the slightest events that happened in our life-Its actually more of me complaining about Kunikida though.
Despite giving our names to each other, we had never revealed our appearance before. Does she perhaps have another informant providing her information?
Even so, I am extra careful when it comes to my identity so that pictures of my appearance would never be leaked.
The rustling of clothing interrupted his thoughts. He glanced behind to see Kano covering her eyes with her left hand. Worried for her well-being, Rokuzo immediately rushed towards her side.
( Dream )
The raw stench of rotting corpse invaded my nostrils, red filled my vision as I caught a glimpse of the person- close enough to be address as family- laying on the ground.
A pool of blood forming underneath his body. He was stabbed multiple of times, allowing a gateway for blood to ooze out.
No matter how much I wanted to reach out for him and get help, my body wouldn't listen to me. It was as if invisible chains were holding me to the ground, restraining my movements.
He slowly lifted his head from the ground, gazing at me with lifeless eyes. He mouths three words that brought a roller-coaster of emotions. Sorrow, grief and mostly regret.
Upon noticing that my mobility had recovered, I frantically dashed towards him, stretching out my arm.
Yet it was all in vain as theimage slowly fades away into oblivion while the platform I was standing on vanished.
Wait! Don't go!
Please...
Don't leave me all alone...
Ethan!
Falling
Falling
Falling Into the land of perpetual darkness
Opening her eyes, Kazehaya tensed and scanned the unfamiliar surrounding, only relaxing once she saw Rokuzo. She breathed in and out deeply in a steady pace to calm her heart that was palpitating wildly against her chest.
Beats of perspiration accumulated on her forehead, her face twisted in agony once reminded of the dream she had.
The T-shirt that Kazehaya was wearing was slightly soaked with sweat. Sensing trails of dried liquid on her face, she wiped it off realising that she had shed tears during the nightmare.
Getting into a sitting position, the jacket that was covering her falls onto her lap.
Kazehaya shielded her eyes with her left palm, gradually gaining back her composure.
" Are you not feeling alright?" Rokuzo voiced out his concern.
Moving her palm away from her eyes, Kazehaya gave him a closed-eye smile.
" I'm feeling fine, just a little lightheaded.
Thanks for helping."
" I better get going, mind lending me your jacket?"
" I'm fine with it but your-"
Kazehaya ruffled his hair fondly, telling him not to worry so much or his brain might overheat one day.
Although this may be the first time they had met in reality, Kazehaya couldn't help but feel platonic affections for him after interacting with him as online friends for more than a year.
Perhaps it's because their circumstances are slightly similar in a way.
He was determined in sending her off to the entrance, before Kazehaya left the vicinity she called out to him.
" I will be staying in Yokohama for a few days. If you would like to hang out together, I'm just a call away."
His golden-brown eyes lights up as the aura of gloomness surrounding him disappeared.
" I shouldn't be busy for the next few days. Its not like I'm hoping to spend some time with you, I merely have nothing else to do. " He answered disinterestedly, yet his lips tugged up slightly as his eyes flashed with anticipation.
How cute~ Tsun tsun
Sigh, if only Rokuzo could be a little more honest with himself.
But hey, that's his charm point!

Author note,
Was this chapter to your liking?
I have always thought that Rokuzo needed more attention and love. I mean he was killed early in the plot, the anime/ manga had never really dived into his personality nor his background. This is why I wanted Rokuzo to form some sort of connection with my OC.
In my opinion, Rokuzo seems more of a Tsu/Kuu dere type of person. What do you think?
