INTRODUCING THE AURORA COVE! A PLACE WHERE THINGS GET REAL!
Aurora Truesdale: Thank you to everyone who favorited, followed, reviewed. I am so sorry for not updating in forever. Started university and helped my mom's starting business, and personal issues got in the way (not necessarily in that order). Anyway I am back and better than ever. This chapter will be kind of short. Actually really short. It will focus more on Mitsukai and the stone. And a little brother/sister bonding. Another thing, be patient with how Sesshy's and Mitsukai's relationship progresses. Yes Mitsukai thinks he's hot but…she's a teenage girl….demon. So yeah just bear with me…I really don't want their relationship to go from non-existent to in-your-face. One more thing: The Aurora Cove will feature the funniest reviews or if you have a behind-the-scenes idea and I like it it will be featured there too. Sorry for the paragraph about boring stuff.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha…yaddayadda…I own Ryou and Mitsukai and the premise of the story. Please don't copy it. Reviews that will help me and ideas, favorites and following are appreciated. Flames will be used to heat my wood stove.
Mitsukai felt a power that she'd never felt before awakened and made her blood flow strongly in her veins along with a tingling sensation. "My…demonic energy?" She closed her eyes and pictured the dragon on the stone Kanna had given her. She pictured herself as that dragon, gliding in the moonlit sky. A gust of wind picked up and Mitsukai felt her nails grow longer, her teeth sharpen into fangs and her body transform into something more powerful. She opened her eyes and looked down. A silver tail swished back and forth. Wings protruded from her back. Mitsukai attempted to use them. Nothing happened. She tried again. Nothing. Mitsukai started growling in frustration, filling the air with low roars, shaking the trees just a little. The demoness closed her eyes and imagined herself lifting off the ground, her wings flapping gently keeping her large serpentine body suspended in the air. She opened her eyes and….she was flying. Well, hovering. She kept hovering for 15 seconds and then she got tired and crashed to the ground. Mitsukai closed her eyes again but this time she pictured herself as her human form. She felt her body change back. The demoness grinned. She had finally been her true form and although she couldn't do anything much it had been great. Mitsukai skipped back the way she had come, heading back to the village.
"Where have you been?" Ryou said in a scary calm voice. Mitsukai gulped. "I…uhm..that is..I" She stammered. Ryou raised an eyebrow.
"What." The older teen's voice deadpanned.
"SoIfollowedthislittlewhitechildnamedKanna-shegavemeastone-IgottobeinmyTRUEFORM!" Mitsukai prattled.
Ryou blinked. "Let me get this straight…you followed some strange little kid and he gave you a stone and you were able to be in your true form? At what point did you stop and think 'Oh maybe this isn't a good idea. Who knows if this kid might kill me?" He said, his voice getting harsher with every word.
"And did you think about what might happen if some demons suddenly appeared? You wouldn't be able to defend yourself even if you were in your true form because you haven't ever been in battle before. Do not EVER go anywhere alone while we are here, is that clear?" Ryou was furious now.
Mitsukai looked down, ashamed. She hadn't thought of any of what Ryou was saying and now with the truth of how bad it all could have been she started to feel really bad. Her brother's eyes softened at the sight of his sister, slowly sinking into herself. "But it's amazing that you were able to transform. You've never done so, you've not even dreamed about your true form and yet you were able to. I'm really proud of you." Ryou praised, reaching out to ruffle Mitsukai's hair. She huffed but smiled up at her brother.
"Do you wanna try?" Mitsukai asked, eager to move past this. Her face fell when her brother shook his head.
"I'll transform when I'm ready. What I would like is to ask Lord Sesshomaru to train me in battle. I need to know how to use claws. I can access my youki even without having transformed or having met my beast." Ryou replied. His sister nodded. "Okay! Wanna ask him now? He's over there watching us." Mitsukai pointed to where the stoic demon lord was standing underneath some trees. His golden gaze was curious as he watched the demon siblings. "Sure. C'mon." Ryou led his sister over to where Sesshomaru was.
"Hi Lord Sesshomaru!" Mitsukai greeted the lord cheerfully. Ryou internally sighed at his sister's stupidity. Sesshomaru raised an elegant eyebrow. The little demoness was curious. She did not display fear or submission. Instead, she looked at him in the eyes and smiled sweetly at him. Her brother was curious as well. Despite not having any formal training, he held himself like a demon lord, his amethyst eyes commanding attention and respect. "What is it, little demoness." Sesshomaru looked at Mitsukai. She cocked her head to the right. 'Little demoness? Doesn't seem like an insult…probably not so it's a compliment! Like when onii-sama calls me gaki! Besides…I am little. 'Specially compared to him.' "Ryou, tell him!"
"Forgive my hyper imouto, Sesshomaru-sama. I would like to know if you could train me in battle." Ryou asked calmly while internally he was thinking 'Please say yes, please say yes.'
Sesshomaru looked at the younger youkai. He certainly seemed strong enough. But strong enough to withstand Sesshomaru's methods of training? He would find out.
"I will train you. But know that it shall not be easy. Moreover, Mitsukai, you shall train with me as well. I shall go easier on you because you are younger than your brother however, I felt your transformation earlier. Your power was raw and dangerous. That shall be changed. Ryou, I sense your power is already trained…although, I cannot sense your beast. This will also be changed. Our beasts are essential for battle and for control. You both shall learn. You both shall listen. " Sesshomaru stated. He turned and began walking away. He stopped and his calm and regal voice said one last thing.
"We begin tomorrow.
