Most of the next day seem to pass quickly and lunch had started before anyone knew it. The buzz around school still insisted on the new history teacher. If only they knew Rachel thought. Technically he could be a walking talking history book with how long he's been alive. Rachel slumped into one of the chairs in the library. She wasn't hungry. In fact she didn't even eat last night. Nila and the twins kept bugging her about Cain. Questions like Are y'all dating yet? came from the twins while Nila kept asking if their vampire history teacher was a good kisser.
Chills shot down her back as she thought about kissing him. Would it be different now that she was older?
"You can find out love" Cain smiled as he sat his lunch down beside her.
The young half blood shot him a glare, "What do you want?"
Cain smiled, "I brought you lunch" he pushed the open container towards her.
Fried rice with sesame seed chicken. The smell alone reminded Rachel she she skipped last night dinner and this mornings breakfast.
"And what are you going to eat, Mr. Cain?"
She said cautiously taking the fork from him. She picked at the food before finding a nice looking piece of chicken.
Cain leaned back in his seat putting his hands begins his head. "I thought I'd snag a pint form the nurse before class started" Rachel stopped mid bite. "Don't worry, luv. I won't hurt her"
She pushed the good away, "And I've lost my appetite again"
Cain smirked and leaned forward closer to her, "Why do you act like that?"
"Like what?" Rachel couldn't look at him.
"Like you don't like the thought of blood. Or the smell of it." Cain lowered his head so he was the only thing in her line of sight. "Or the taste of it"
Rachel gritted her teeth. "You know why...Now stop..." She growled quietly.
"Why don't you enlighten me, my sweet"
"Because you already know why" Rachel began to stand when Cain grabbed her arm.
"I'm only teasing you Rachel. There's no need to make a scene." He pulled her back to the seat.
"You know..." She jerked her arm away from him. "You are so immature for your age."
Cain smiled, "I know luv, and you're to stuck up for your's"
Rachel was about to let a long list of cuss words fly, but the bell stopped her. As she stood up Cain did too and shoved the container of food back into her hands. "Eat in class. I don't care what the rules say. You're hungry." He spun around on his heels and walking.
"Where are you going?"
Cain looked at her and smirked, "I'm hungry too."

Rachel picked at her food as the rest of the class chatted away. Nila ran in late and slide into her seat.
"Am I safe?" She asked out of breath. Rachel nodded her head as she chewed her food. "Where did you get the money for chines food?" Nila reached over and stole a small piece of chicken.
"Cain gave it to me..." She mumbled quietly giving her friend a napkin to clean her newly sticky fingers.
"What did you give him in return?" She asked joke-fully. When Rachel shot her a glare the demon only laughed. "Speaking of Mr. Cain, where is he?"
"Getting something to eat" Rachel shoved another bite of rice in her mouth.
Nila's face paled slightly. "You're joking right?"
"Nope" Rachel made a popping noise with the Ope. "He's with Nurse Joy getting a pint or two."
As of on cue the door opened.
"Sorry class. My lunch ran a little late" Cain said popping a mint in his mouth.
That's not going to get rid of that blood breath Rachel smiled as she took another bite of her food.
Cain smiled, "So class" he sat on his desk, "What kind of stories should we start with?" The class suddenly became quiet and he sighed.
"Why don't you tell us a story first Mr. Cain" Nila asked.
"Splendid idea. Than you'll go next" he added quickly. The history teacher began to think. "Oh!" He snapped his fingers. "I'll tell you about the time I got lost in my nephew tour of the pyramids." Cain jumped up, "about 5 years ago I went to visit Egypt. You know they pyramids and see the culture. All that stuff. Well my Nephew, Mecheres, being the successful business man that he is decided a to ,let's say, renovate one of the pyramids."
I wonder if he's talking about when the pyramids were actually built... Rachel thought watching her teacher walk across the room going on about how he must have taken a wrong turn or something and ended up on the wrong side of a mummy's tomb.
The class roared with laughter after the story was done. Cain walked to the front of the class where Nila sat.
"Why don't you share something." He smiled "I'm sure the class would love to hear about your heritage."
"My heritage..." She mumbled trying to figure out what lie she could spin. "Lets see most of my friends know I'm from Columbia."
"Well how did you end up here?" One of the kids in the back shouted.
"Well my Auntie brought me here after my mother died giving birth to me..."
Rachel nodded her head. It's close to the truth. She thought.
"My father ran away from my family after that. So now it's just me and Auntie"Another lie Rachel noted. Her, the twins and Nila lived on one floor of an apartment on the west side of town.
"And Mr. Sha you look like a fine young Irishman. Care to tell?"
The class went from Irish to African and everything in between. Some kids bragged about their knowledge of their family back ground while other couldn't even guess where they came from.
"Miss Rachel!" Cain smiled. He was looking forward to the lie she came up with.
She took a deep breath and sighed. "Well I came from a drug abusive family. My brother and I were relocated about 3 years ago. He's off at collage. While he's off getting laid I'm here getting A's" the class busted out laughing.

Cain smirked, "Isn't that lovely?" he asked mockingly. Cain opened his mouth but the bell seem to stop his words from coming out. "Remember class tomorrow we will talk more about heritage and the history behind them!" He shouted as his class left.

Rachel started packing up her things when Cain walked over to her desk. "Where are you going?" The smile on his face read that he was up to something.

"Home?" She asked kinda looking at Nila, "Right?"

Her demon friend nodded, "We didn't have anything planned since band season is over." Nila looked over at Cain. "Why?"

"Miss Rachel has detention." He answered.

Rachel sighed, "You're not really making stay for this are you? All I did was break your nose."

"Sure" Nila snickered, "That's all you did."

"Don't you have a soul to steal, Succubus?" Cain asked coldly.

Smack! Rachel had slapped him across the face, and he looked truly stunned.

"You will not talk to my friend that way!" Rachel shouted.

Cain was still in shock. She really did hit me... He coughed, "I see that I ummm crossed a line." He looked at Nila. Little tears dotted her eyes. "I'm sorry Miss Nila. Can you find it your heart to forgive me?" His tone had gone from stunned to sincere.

She sniffled slightly, "I can if you let Rachel go home."

Cain sighed slightly. "I believe that is fair..."

The door to his room swung open. "Come on guys" Adian beamed brightly as her sister fallowed along in the shadows. "It Tuesday and y'all promised to take us to get ice cream!"

Cain starred blankly at the two small witches in his room, "R-Rachel, how did you come across such a strange set of friends?"

She simple shrugged, "They found me." Rachel stood. "Girls this is Mr. Cain." Like I really need to tell them...

"Oh we know. We've seen everything about him." Adian smiled, "Like he's going to offer us a ride to Jandy's and than pay for us."

Cain smiled, "You're a lively one aren't you?" His head shot to the side looking at the raven haired girl. "And who might you be?"

"That's my sister Nadia." Adian spouted out again "She doesn't talk much. So I talk for her." Nadia nodded her head in agreement. "And we both want to know if we can go!"

Rachel smiled softly. "Yeah lets go..." She picked up her bag only Cain to take it from her.

"Allow me" He didn't even wait for her response before he started walking. Nila and the girls started fallowed behind chatting about their day. Rachel remained quiet as they worked their way out to the parking lot.

"Sorry is my car is a bit cramped." Cain smiled as the lights of a 1969 candy apple red Camaro Super Sport flashed. Both the twins smiled and Nila's eyes widen. Rachel thought she was going to drool.

'It's just like the car from Death Note..." She said blankly. "It's Matt's car!" The excitement in her voice spiked. The other girls had already climbed into the back seat.

"Well luv are you just going to stand there and stare or are you going to climb in?" Cain could help but smile. He loved see her act like a normal teenage girl.

Rachel slide in to the passenger seat. "Wow" She mumbled studying the interior. It was black leather and tinted windows. "Just wow"

Most of the drive was spent asking and answering questions about the car, but Adian popped up.

'So are you guys dating yet?"

"No" Rachel answered rather quickly, turning her head towards the window.

"But Rachel!" The blond ten year old gave off a high pitched whine, "I've seen the future. He makes you happy!"

Rachel slowly started to blush. Cain smiled and decided to poke some fun at her too. "Yeah Rachel" He mimicked the girls voice "She's seen the future so it has to be true!" The twins giggled in response. Cain looked at the through the mirror. "So little witches what else can you do beside see the future an play cupid?"

"Well..." Adian started, "We both see the future and can read the minds of living people. Naida can control the elements while I can control technology."

"Fascinating" Cain smiled "Were you born with these powers? Or did you just find the right book?"

Nadia looked up and her sister spoke for her, "Books? There are books?"

Cain nodded, "Of course. I have a few but with the amount of power I have I don't need magic." Cain pulled into the parking lot and the girls jumped out. He held the door open for all of them and stooped Rachel. "Can I get a smile out of you please? I am buying you something sweet." He mused.

"Only in hopes that you get something sweet in return." Despite the comment Rachel did smile. She walked over and watched the girls fill up their little ice cream bowls.

She picked up a bowl and filled it with vanilla ice cream. She than proceeded to dump an equal amount of cookie dough and whip cream, and to top it all off Rachel drizzled caramel over it. Adian had a colorful concations of fruits, gummies, and artificial flavorings, while Naida just got a bowl chocolate ice cream. Nila had gotten what she called her Death By Chocolate, which contain every know chocolate ice cream, cookie, candy and syrup she could cream into a eight once cup. Cain paid for everything including his chocolate caramel mix.

"So children I am curious." Cain said spooning bite into his mouth. "How did you come across my lovely Rachel?" He looked more at the twins than he did at Nila.

"Oh we were gypsy" Adian began but Naida rammed her elbow into her sister's side, "We are gypsy, but Rachel saved us from a vampire attack during the summer."

"Gypsys huh?" Cain smiled, "Like Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame?" He smiled.

"Yeah but we are different. We can actually see the future and all that good stuff." The twins dug into their ice creams perfectly in sync.

Cain watched smiling. "And Miss Nila?"

"I live in a little run down dim apartment. Vampires have always been a problem but because of the sulfur I give off they tend to leave me alone." The demon started.

"You needed some rent money" Rachel smiled taking a bit of cookie dough.

"Yeah right and the protection" Nila laughed, "After a while those vamps kept harassing me, and one even tried to kill me, thank God for demon bones I guess."

Cain smiled and turned his head towards Rachel, "Where did you find rent money?"

She giggled, "I stole some of your gold before I left."

"I thought you would have taken more." he smirked, taking another bite.

The twins and Nila shared a look, as if they all had the same thought.

"So Miss Rachel" Nila started.

"Where did you and Mr. Cain meet?" Adian finished.

Rachel started coughing, "That's not important." She stated, trying to calm her coughing. Their attention swept over to Cain.

"Will you tell us? They only thing we know about her past is that she's a half breed" Nila frowned.

Adian shock her head, "No, only you don't know about her past. Naida and I have alreeady seen her past. It's a bit dark if you ask us."

Nila frowned, "Don't I feel left in the dark." she mumbled.

Rachel sighed. The only person she had ever told about her past was Sam. Now that she thought about it, she had told Sam everything. The lab, her brother, the escape... Cain.

"Ask Sam... She will be more than happy to print off the fake articale she made about me."

"She wrote an articale about you?" Cain frowned.

"Its locked down in her laptop" Rachel took another bite of ice cream. "Plus if anyone read it they would just assume it was a fan fiction or something..."

"Which Sam are we talking about? Guy Sam, Lesbain Sam, or journlist Sam?" Cain asked.

"Journalist Sam" they all said at once.

Cain just nodded his head. "Okay Okay" his voiced wavered slightly, but Rachel didn't really care. "Well children," he paused "and Rachel are we done with our sweets?" All there girls nodded their heads, "Very well. Rachel, luv will you go crank up the car?" he handed her the keys, and leaned in close, than whispered, "For a kiss ill let you drive us home."

"Creep" she mumbled snatching the keys from his hands. Nila fallowed along behind her as they went outside, but the twins staied seated.

Aidan waited till the door shut before she started, "You do know what's going to happen this week right?"

Cain sighed, "Unfortantally"

"Yeah... well atleast some good will come out of it right?" Adian smiled, "The only thing we don't know is what going to happen to us"

"Don't worry children. The future holds many bright opportunities for you and the demon girl"
