Change of heart chapter 4
I know it's been a while since I last updated but I keep ending where it's kinda hard to start. So sorry.
RandomWriter23: Yes, Gia and Michael are very cute together, of course the girls start gagging but it's because of the cheesiness not the fact that they are gay, do not misunderstand this. Yes, James is an idiot and what says is quite cheesy and funny.
Rubi Yuki: Don't worry more is coming :)
To be honest, I really enjoy spending time with Kirita and the way she explains the dance is SO much easier to understand.
"Ok, so for the next step, you stomp to the left," she did the move and I copied her, but my 'stomp' was more of a 'step'. "And you stomp hard enough that you make a sound, then do the same on the right," she stomped but then, she collapsed.
"Oh my god! Are you ok?!" she was fine one second and then she was one the floor the next.
"I'm fine," she said as she stood up shakily. "My knee just gave way." She tested out the strength in her knee a few times.
"How 'bout we take a break?" I suggested and I was hoping she'd say yes because frankly, I'm exhausted. I had no idea that dance could drain me like this.
"Good idea, you look terrible." I looked at myself in the mirror and saw that I was sweating like there's no tomorrow, my hair was matted to the back of my neck and my forehead, my shirt was almost soaked through and my face looked like I hadn't slept for days and I'd just run a marathon. When I went to get my water bottle from my bag I saw Kirita stripping down her leotard and stockings. "Whoa!" I turned away.
"Dude, we're in a room with mirrors on just about every wall, do you really think you'll avoid seeing me strip by just turning away?" she pulled some black ¾ leggings out of her bag and pulled them on. When I realised that she really doesn't care and that I was too tired to go somewhere else I went over to my bag and stripped my shirt as she was struggling into a sports crop top that looked a bit small.
"Isn't that a bit small for you?" I pointed out.
"No not really. When I do sport or dance I prefer wearing compression stuff so it makes my body NOT feel like jelly and I have broad shoulders, so it's hard to get things over my shoulders, but once I'm past that it's fine."
"You seem to like explaining things before people ask." I pointed out with phony interest.
"It's annoying when people ask questions so I try to make sure unimportant questions don't need to be asked." I nodded in understanding. There was silence for a second and then, 'GROWL' Kirita held her stomach. "Ehe, I guess I haven't eaten much." She rubbed the back of her head with one hand in embarrassment. I was about to reply when 'GROWL' and I held my stomach and rubbed the back of my neck in embarrassment.
"Ehe, I guess I haven't eaten much either." She smiled and slipped on a cut shirt with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it.
"Then why don't we get something to eat." She grabbed her wallet and motioned to the door.
"Sure." I slipped on a spare shirt and grabbed my wallet as well. Kirita left first and as I followed I noticed that she walked a little strangely. Rather than the smooth motions in the hips, they were a bit wonky and rather than letting the leg move in the hip socket a lot, she twisted her hips a bit. The movements were slow but her steps were long and graceful it was like she was dancing even without noticing it. Then I just realised what I had been doing. I had been staring at her ass commenting on how she walks. I felt a small blush spread across my cheeks. To get my mind off it I started talking. "So where're we going?"
"Lighter Lytis, y'know, the café you stalked me to." She turned and raised an eyebrow at me.
"Uh, yeah sorry about that, I guess I was just pissed off at everything and did things without thinking." I looked away, kind of, scared to look into her eyes.
"Don't be scared, I'm pretty sure plenty of guys have followed me to that café in hopes to find a girlfriend, only to see that I appeared to have a boyfriend, or something."
"How do you know that?" it was my turn to raise an eyebrow at her.
"Sometimes I glimpse boys looking at me in the street, then I see them walking behind me in the reflection of a nearby building, but when I get to Lighter Lytis and Gia gets all clingy and stuff, I see then pass by my window with a bit of a depressed look on their face." She shrugged. "Although sometimes there's a brave one who thinks that we're just friends and tries to say hello but then Gia get super clingy like I'm his girlfriend and then they back off." I nodded.
"To be honest, I think he used to have a crush on you, but when he knew he wouldn't be able to get you, he opened up his mind to different options and fell in love with Michael." Jesus I sound like some love guru.
"Fair enough but Gia's always been gay, I've just supported him the whole way. And I seriously doubt anyone in their right mind would fall for me."
"That's not true. You have fair skin, really nice hair, you get along with everyone, you make up for you mistakes, you are AMAZING at dance and you're just fun to be with." She looked at me with a look that said 'I seriously doubt that'. "No really I'm serious; the other three guys said that if they didn't have someone they were already willing to die for they probably would've all asked you out on the spot." Her eyes widened a bit in surprise. To be honest with her reaction, I guess a lot of people aren't honest with her.
"Whatever you say Romeo." She pushed open the door of the café and sat down in her usual spot and in seconds Giacomo was all over her.
"Kiri are you alright you're not being held against you will are you?" he said in a fake panic and glared at me.
"No Gia it's nothing like…"
"Unless," he paused and then suddenly his face was centimetres away from mine. "You asked her out didn't you?"
"Wait wha…" I was gonna argue but he just continued his rambling.
"You asked her out, after all you did to her. Daddy will not stand for this!" Kirita looked like this had happened before and looked completely pissed. "But what if she decides that she'd disobey her dad and go off and marry a shaggy haired singer even when he told her not to, what if my little girl is in her rebellious stage." He sounded distraught but it was obvious he was acting.
"Gia you're not my dad."
"But you're my little girl, and I care for you and that's what daddy's do."
"Dude you're acting like Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club."
"So you're saying that I'm a princely character with incredible looks and is completely devoted to his little girl? THANK YOU SO MUCH DARLING!" he threw his arms around her but she stopped him by pushing him away by the head.
"At least you didn't say you were a king." She mumbled, but Giacomo caught that.
"Even better, I'm your king so you must obey me and I say that you are not allowed to go interloping with any boy you want, he must have daddy's blessing before he goes and fffffffff, ah, ah, ah." He looked as if he was pain and I noticed that Kirita was gripping his left thigh just above the knee very hard. "Okay, okay, okay. I'll stop, I'll stop. Geez, granita or panna cotta today?"
"Panna cotta again, but instead of cherry sauce could you make it strawberry?"
"Sure thing chicken wing and what about you, boy, what would you like apart from my little girl's innocence?" he glared at me.
"Umm, do you have any kind of sacher torte?"
"Yep and we have one as the special today."
"I'll just have a piece of that one thanks and could I get a small latte?"
"Sure, now be good while I'm gone and don't you dare harass my daughter." He pointed his pen warningly at me before leaving for the kitchen.
"Don't worry about him, he likes freaking out boys that seem close to me. All my guy friends did that." Is she really this oblivious to why people act the way they do?
Why does Gia always do that? I sank down in my seat.
"You okay?" James asked from across the table. He had a sympathetic smile on his face. I gave a small nod.
"I should be as long as he doesn't continue." I pushed myself up to sit properly on my chair. "So, how do you think you're goin' with the choreography?"
"It's a lot easier with someone explaining it that's for sure. Thanks for showing me by the way." He gave me a half smile and I swear I saw a pink hue around him. Geez I'm watching too much anime.
"It's fine. Most of the time I just really hate when people are really sucking at dance because they've missed classes." I shrugged and saw James' face fall a bit. "That's why I help them, because usually it's them who stops us from learning more in class, so I help them learn what they've missed." James nodded in understanding.
"Fair enough."
"Here you go." Gia came back with a tray. "One panna cotta with strawberry sauce and peppermint and fennel tea." He said cheerfully as he set my food down in front of me. "And one special sacher torte with a small latte. I put my own design on it by the way." He just about slammed James' food down on the table before pulling a chair up for himself and started acting normally again. I saw James looking down at his latte with slight horror. I leaned over the table to see what was wrong and found that the latte had a skull and cross bones on it. There was also a message written with chocolate sauce on the plate of the sacher torte which said; 'Don't you dare!' I calmly sat back down and turn my head slowly to my old friend.
"You idiot." I wacked him upside the head. "I swear the next time you do that I'll shove a chair down your throat."
"Ok, geez, no need to get violent. So how've you guys been goin'?" James and I glanced at each other and shrugged.
"Pretty good I guess. James is a fast learner and isn't lazy so I don't have to get pissed off at him unlike someone I know." I glared at Gia.
"Aw, shucks. No need to give me so much credit." He held his face in one hand and pretended to be embarrassed. I rolled my eyes and dug in to my food. "Ok, really how've you been doing?"
"Pretty good I guess now that James has finally decided to open up." I looked to James who was taking a sip of his latte. "The designing's been pretty quiet but constant and I've been glad for that since I'm so busy with choreographing. The boys are fast learners but they muck around way too much. You better not be as bad as them." I warned James and stared at him with murderous intent. He nodded quickly, fear obvious in his eyes.
"And what about my little angel?" he asked softly, with affection deep through his voice.
"Michael's goin' good. He's getting healthier and so is Michelle and the friendly interaction with others is doing them all some good." I nodded as I finished my dish. I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand and stood up. "Gotta go boys, nature calls." I walked towards the small toilet Gia recently had installed.
As Kirita and Giacomo talked I took to eating my desert. Despite the warning and the 'special' design the piece of cake looked absolutely amazing and the latte had such an aromatic smell to it. The cake was a dark shade of chocolate brown, the chocolate coating the slice gleamed and shined like a mirror and the single small strawberry on it seemed to sparkle on its own. I cut a small piece with my fork and popped it in my mouth and it just about melted. The cake was rich but not overpowering and the apricot jam in it left a slight bittersweet after taste. I smiled. The cake was just downright amazing. I took a sip of the latte and ended up smiling even more. The latte was rich but not bitter in anyway and it left a warn feeling in my mouth. I'm not too sure why but the food just made me happy.
"…You better not be as bad as them." I looked up to see Kirita staring at me like she was going to kill me. I nodded quickly in response. My mind quickly went back to the cake in front of me. After about a minute I heard the grating of a chair on the floor.
"Gotta go boys, nature calls." Giacomo and I waved to her.
"You break her heart, I'll rip yours out and tear it to shreds." He said darkly but with a smile still on his face. My eyes widened when I recognised the tone. "She's liked you for ages, ever since one of her friends mentioned Big Time Rush and told her to watch and listen to you guys." I was caught off guard by this. "When she was given the job of being your choreographer she was ecstatic, but she had been really busy and hadn't gotten a lot of sleep so she was just grumpy, after that first day she felt really guilty and wanted to make it up to you but you didn't show up." My brain was still trying to keep up with what Giacomo was telling me. "So you better take care of her."
"Wait, what do you mean 'take care of her'?" I was extremely confused.
"I can see it in your eyes, you may not know it, and Kiri definitely won't, but I can tell you care about her." My brain wasn't processing all this well. "She likes you, she may or may not know it or want to show it, but she cares for you too. Just make sure you treat her well." My mind was swimming but there was one question that kept surfacing.
"Why do you care about her so much?' did that sound jealous?
"When I was in primary school, which is probably the equivalent of elementary school here, I was always made fun of because I was gay. They always called me names and the most popular one was 'fag' and as I got older it got worse. Rather than just teasing or distancing themselves from me they actually got violent and started beating me up."
FLASH BACK MOMENT THING
I don't want to go to school any more, but I promised my parents. I sighed as I walked in through the gates on my first day of high school. I looked around and didn't see anyone I had seen before so I kept walking feeling a bit more secure.
'Hey fag! Get a boyfriend yet?' I felt like crying then and there. People sniggered, backed away or started whispering and pointing. As it turns out a lot of the guys that picked on me while I was in primary school, are now going to the same high school as me. I sighed again, this is going to be a long six years. It was the last period of school and I had drama, a class that I had with random people from different classes. I walked in and found all the chairs in the room in a big circle.
"Come on in mate, don't just stand there take a seat while we wait." I nodded and took the seat to the left of him. A minute later people started filing in. They took the seats furthest away from me and whoever got closer to me just moved slightly away. No one came in for a minute or so.
"All right class, my name is Hamit, Rohan Hamit and I will be your drama teacher." People stifled laughs at the way he tried to imitate James Bond but I just sat there, hoping people will forget I was there. "Now…" the door burst open before he could continue.
"Sorry I'm late!" a short girl with brown hair came in slightly panting. "I went to the toilet and then ended up taking the long way around to C block, sorry."
"Just sit down Kirita."
"No probs Rohan."
"You must call me Mr Hamit ok?"
"Fine." She plonked into the seat beside me and Mr Hamit started calling the roll. She made no move to move away.
I whispered to her; "Are you sure you want to sit next to me? I'm the fag after all." She laughed a bit and shook her head.
"It doesn't matter who you love as long as it's true." I was surprised at what she said in reply. I didn't think someone could say something so cheesy but so deep. I was truly happy that someone didn't care I was gay. I didn't realise the teacher was calling my name until someone yelled out;
"Hey fag, Hamit's talking to you." And once again I felt miserable. But then something I never would've thought would happen, happened.
"Oi don't call him a fag, he's a normal human being with his own likes." The girl, Kirita, stood up and spoke. This was the first time anyone had ever stood up for me.
"Yeah a like for other guys, bleh." The guy who yelled out made a face.
"Yeah and, it doesn't matter what gender the person he loves is, I find it's normal because it's the nature of humans to love. And anyway who says you're not gay huh? You could easily be gay yourself and just make fun of others because you don't want to face the truth." He made a face that said 'are you serious?'
"Yeah right, that fag is a fag and I know I'm not a fag."
"The fact that you can only call him by that name just shows how small your brain is." She sighed.
"Excuse me!"
"I mean seriously, can't you just say homosexual or gay or even better, his name. Oh wait, your brain can't absorb that much info because it's already full of shit."
"You bitch! Screw the fag, I'm gonna deal with you." He cracked his knuckles.
"A bitch is a female dog and a fag is actually a cigarette and I'm pretty sure he would rather screw a guy he loved than a girl or a jerk." she pretended to be exasperated. "So you're wrong about almost everything you've said so far dipshit."
"What did you call me?"
"I called you a dipshit. You brain has been dipped in shit therefore you are a dipshit."
"That's it!" he swung a fist at her and she grabbed it easily. Her eyebrow twitched and she smirked. Then in a flash his arm was behind him and she was pulling it higher and higher causing what would be immense pain.
"Hey Mr Hamit, you don't want me to draw blood do you?" he sighed in response.
"No, I don't because if you do we'll have to talk it over with his parents." He sounded exasperated, for real.
"Ok." She shoved the boy forward and he fell into his chair.
"Thank you, now sit down." He was pinching the ridge of his nose.
"Kay kay." She sat down smiling next to me. "Kirita Kaelous." She held her hand out to me.
"Giacomo Lytis." I said and took her hand uncertainly.
"Nice to meet you Gia." She smiled. I hadn't heard someone called me that for ages. I beamed in return.
"You too, Kiri." She smirked.
"That means fog you know?"
END FLASHBACK THING
"That's how it went. That's how we met. You can see how I want to protect her just as she did for me in high school." I nodded in understanding at his words.
"Fair enough, oh and one more question. Where did you get the recipe for this cake and what's in the latte? They both taste AMAZING!"
"That is two questions, but oh well. The cake is my own recipe and the latte has been made the same way in my family for decades."
"Please teach me how to make both of them! PLEASE!" I dropped to my knees in front of him and grasped his hand. "I'll do anything just teach me or send my some of both every day!"
"Anything huh? Well then, if that's the case." He leaned down and whispered in my ear. "I want you to treat my little girl like a princess and I want you to always take care of her, ok?" I nodded vigorously. "Good and while you're down there, cause you are extremely sexy, could you, maybe…"
"Do it with your boyfriend." I shoved his head backwards and sat back in my seat. I took another bite of cake but saw him contemplating me. "What?"
"Just wondering if you're any good or not." He challenged.
"Do you really want to know how good I am?"
"I don't know, do I?"
"No, you don't because you already have your darling angel Michael. Rather than asking me for a fuck go do it with him." I finished off my latte.
"But he's underage! His fifteen and by the time his sixteen I'll be nineteen and from the laws I know of, he has to be eighteen to fuck someone at any age."
"I think that might just be in Australia."
"Fair enough, I better look into it."
"So Gia did you manage to force him to do anything against his will yet?" Kirita was back.
"No not yet, anyway what took you so long?" he raised an inquisitive eyebrow at her and I joined him.
"Bookie saw me and didn't stop talking about how he was tired of being around men all the time and was begging me to work more often." She rolled her eyes.
"Don't worry about Bookie, we both know that he's the only straight guy in the kitchen. Well, other than Ed and Daniel."
"No their together."
"Seriously! Did not know that."
"Of course you didn't they got together last night and Bookie just told me now."
"Ok fair enough. Anyway…" I really feel like I could get along with these guys. And now that I think about it, I think I do care about Kirita, it's too early to know. I just hope things won't get any worse.
Ta da. I quite liked writing this. Please review I want to see who actually enjoys this.
