Chapter 4
A/N: As always Italics are Quinn's thoughts. Sorry about taking so long with the update, things got busy with school and work and this kinda slipped away from me. I have the next chapter done for the most part. It should be up hopefully in the next week or so. As always feedback is appreciated.
They had been sitting around the apartment for god knows how many hours. Blaine had cooked them all some food to eat, and they were sitting in silence trying to think of their next move. They were all fearing the worst, but hoping for the best.
"I know where she is!" Rachel shouted, causing the others to jump at the sudden fierceness that Rachel's voice had.
Wouldn't it be heaven if she was consumed with passion and just kissed me. In the middle of...
"Grand Central Station."
Grand Central Station.
"Are you sure?"
"How do you know?"
"A few weeks ago she blogged about some of the most romantic places in the city."
Kurt sighed and leaned back into the couch, "What else did she write about?"
Rachel raced on, "Bryant Park, St. Patricks Cathedral, a bakery a few blocks away from broadway, and Grand Central Station."
It'd be like one of those black and white movies that she loves so much.
Brittany jumped into the conversation, "Metro North to New Haven."
The others shared confused looks trying to figure out what exactly Brittany was trying to say. "Brit, what are you talking about?" Santana asked gently pressing her for more information.
"Sometimes when she gets stressed out or has trouble writing she'll take the train back up to New Haven. She said something about the buildings taking her back in time and being an escape." Brittany just looked at the others as if this was the most obvious explanation in the world.
Rachel glanced hopefully at Kurt and Santana, "Do you think that she may have gone there?"
"Well there's only one way to find out."
As dramatic as Rachel is, I don't see that happening any time soon. God, I never expected any of this to happen to me. I have great friends, a successful career, I'm at a good place with Beth and Shelby.
"Blaine, I need your help. Actually I need all of your help." Rachel looked around the room, making eye contact with each and every one of them. "I have a plan.
And yet, I still feel so alone.
"Just tell us what you need." Blaine stood up and grabbed Rachel's hands pulling her off the couch.
"I need a keyboard and a guitar."
"Rachel, this isn't the time for theatricality." Kurt stated, "Besides how do you suppose you'd be able to pull off a performance in the middle of Grand Central Station?"
Rachel huffed brushing past the others, "Have you looked around the room lately? There's two of broadways biggest rising stars, a renowned choreographer, one of the biggest names in fashion, and one of the fiercest lawyers in the country. Do you really think anyone is going to say anything?"
Rachel looked around the room daring them all to defy her, but she was meet with silence. "Well, now that we are all in agreement, here's what I need you all to do. Blaine get your keyboard and guitar. Kurt, you'll have to play the keyboard seeing as Blaine is the only one of us that can play guitar."
"We have a keyboard in the living room. I think that Quinn might have one of Puck's, or maybe Sam's, guitars in her room." Santana said pointing out the various rooms.
"Got it." Kurt replied briskly walking out of the room to assist Blaine.
"Brittany, I need you to run to the flower shop on the corner and get me a bouquet of white gardenias and red roses. " Brittany popped off the coach and grabbed her wallet of the counter, leaving only Rachel and Santana.
"I hope you know what you're doing Rachel."
"I only know for certain what I am doing. "
"You're avoiding the question." Santana replied seriously, "Not everything can be fixed with a song and dance."
"Well luckily I'm not trying to fix anything here."
"Well then what the hell are you trying to do?"
"I'm going to show."
Santana stood up and moved closer to Rachel, "Then it better be the fucking performance of your life."
