Shadow looked down upon the mechanical troops below him. He hid above them in the vents, waiting for them to leave so he could get to the computer. He heard the metal door slide open and the Doctor walked in, laughing about whatever scheme he came up with in that bald head of his.
"So, those Hedgehogs are in a relationship now are they!" He chortled, pulling up picture of the Chaos Emeralds. "What an excellent opportunity!"
"How did he find out?!" Shadow said, concerned for Sonic's safety.
He watched as Robotnik typed away at his computer, trying to figure out the locations of the other emeralds. Shadow had the sickening feeling that he was going to attack Sonic to get his emerald but he didn't know how or when. Shadow felt the urgent need to warn his boyfriend but he couldn't leave until he completed his mission without the risk of being fired. Shadow followed Robotnik throughout his lair, he observed the Doctor prepare a new kind of robot that only worsened Shadow's paranoia. He did not know what the robot did but it surely wasn't good.

Sonic sat at the foot of his bed, it had only been a few hours but he already missed Shadow. Tails walked into Sonic's bedroom and stood in the doorway, he hated it when his older brother was upset.
"Hey, I heard what happened…" Tails said, "do you want to get some chili dogs."
Sonic smiled softly, "sure little buddy."
The two brothers left the house and ran to the park. Sonic bought one for Tails and two for himself, they sat down at a bench and began eating their lunch. Sonic couldn't help but notice the happy couples that walked by, Tails placed a hand on his brother's back, he may not be able to relate to his brother but he could try to cheer him up.
"Sonic!" Amy screeched, seemingly coming out of nowhere and forcibly hugging the blue hedgehog.
"Oh, hi Amy…" Sonic said nervously.
"I see Shadow isn't here,' Amy pointed out. "I guess he doesn't love you after all."
"What! Yes he does!" Sonic yelled. "He was just sent on a mission!"
"Amy, I think you should go…" Tails said.
"Just give me chance! I can make you so much happier than he ever could!"
"Amy… this isn't healthy, I think you need to get some help." Sonic said, "c'mon Tails let's go home."

Shadow decided to get a closer look at Shadow's new toy. The robot was about three times the size of a mobian hedgehog and it's body was extremely thin. It was painted black with two soulless blue eyes. The knees seemed to bend backwards like a deer's and the machine's thin arms attached to large hands. The ebony hedgehog would never admit it but the robot's design slightly unnerved him.
The sound of footsteps sent him to hide behind some stacked crates. The Doctor walked back into the room and activated the robot. The machine took a step forward, towering over the round man. They left the room and Shadow followed.
They ended up in what looked like an obstacle course. Shadow watched as the robot weaved through the maze, grabbing the smaller machines and hiding behind walls. At one point a robot spotted its lanky foe and ran, the machine sprinted after it, quickly catching up. Its large hands got a hold of the robot and brought it to the circle along with all the other targets.
"So Robotnik's making a stealth robot," Shadow said. "But what is he going to use it for?"

"How could she say something like that?" Sonic said, collapsing onto the couch.
Tails sighed, "I don't know but I wish we didn't let that obsession of hers fester."
The yellow fox sat next to his older brother, silently watching the television.
"Why didn't you tell her that you weren't interested anyways?" He asked.
"I just that she would've grown out of it y'know?" Sonic shrugged.
The brothers spent the rest of the evening watching bad movies together and eating popcorn. For dinner Sonic made them pasta with peas in it. Sonic almost completely forgot about the incident with Amy.
It was ten o'clock when he tucked Tails into bed. The blue hedgehog sent a goodnight text to his boyfriend before falling asleep himself.
