"I am the 48th djinn, Haagenti of wealth and calamity. Are you worthy to be my king?"
"Uh..." Now, Gold realized that wasn't the most kingly thing to do, but it was the only thing she could do. I mean, it's not everyday you run into a 50 foot tall dude... who's blue.
For a cosmic being, he was pretty good looking if he wasn't scowling. He had sharp blue eyes and disheveled messy dark hair which vaguely covered the weird third eye on his forehead. Like she said before, he was wearing nothing but a loincloth covering down there and leaving... everything.
"Well?" He snapped impatiently and Gold realized she hasn't answered his question yet.
"Yes. I think..." Gold trailed off.
"You do not sound certain," he narrowed his eyes and she gulped.
Truth was, she was no where near worthy to be king. Her being king was like saying you want a catastrophe to happen.
So no, she is not worthy to be king nor should she become one.
But she needed this power to help that boy. And plus, she didn't fight a dragon for nothing.
"But nonetheless, you have proven yourself worthy so I have no choice to accept you as my king. My power is yours to use as you desire," he announced anyway. That was probably the only piece of good news Gold has heard all day.
"Great," she said, "So... how do I get out of here?" Haagenti raised a brow.
"You do not desire the power?" Gold almost wanted to smack herself. She wanted to leave without getting what she came for.
"Uh... Yeah! Sure, that first and then I'll go," she nodded along quickly. The blue giant eyed her and was it just her or was he getting bigger? Or maybe she was getting smaller?
"You have no weapon," he suddenly said.
"Yeah, didn't really have time to grab one. You see, I had a very frustrating dream of this lady screaming at me and it wouldn't stop so I had to rush it," she explained casually. He raised a thick brow.
"A lady?"
"Yeah, you know, a girl. Like me," Gold pointed at herself. He scowled at her.
"I know what a lady is! I'm asking who she is!" He demanded.
"Not a clue, she wouldn't tell me her name. Or anything really," Gold answered, "Just that I have to prevent a disaster from destroying the world like it did to hers... yay," she added unenthusiastically. All this riches and stuff were cool, but saving the world?Aren't there people for that?
Meanwhile, Haagenti had gone strangely quiet. But his sharp blue eyes were now full of worry and fear and Gold heard this saying once, 'If a blue giant with magic powers is scared, you should be too.' And to the stars and back she was.
"Uh... Haag?" She called, "Can I call you Haag?" As if breaking out of a trance, he snapped his head back to her. All previous worry disappeared from his eyes and now being replaced with the moodiness of a giant.
"... I'll take that as a no. Do you know something? Is she real?" Gold had a feeling she knew the answers to both questions, but she had to hear it for herself.
"... None of your business." That was about as close as she was going to get.
Haagenti suddenly snapped his fingers and in her hands appeared a sword about 3 feet long. Gold slowly unsheathed it.
It was a simple sword you could find anywhere, no eccentric carvings or any jewelry of any kind to mark that it had mysteriously appeared out of thin air.
"You're probably wondering what the djinn of wealth wants to do with such a bland sword when he can make the most radiant sword in the world," he said as if reading her mind. Gold stared at him.
"You can read minds?"
"No. It's written all over your face."
"Oh."
"But to answer your question; I prefer being in simple swords like these. As long as you can use it, looks don't matter do they?" He explained curtly.
"Yeah," Gold nodded. She wasn't a big fan of decorations herself although she wouldn't care either way.
"I assume you have other questions." More like a thousand, she thought but didn't say it out loud.
"But I'm not in the mood, so have fun."
"Have fun?"
"Yeah," he said nonchalantly, "Those oddly dressed royalties are surrounding my dungeon. Looking for you I presume." Gold resisted the urge to scream. She had been so preoccupied with fantasy that she had forgotten about reality.
Gold wondered if she could stay a little longer in the dungeon, until the Imperial army disappeared or died of old age (she heard time runs differently in dungeons). But before she could, a bright circle appeared beneath her feet.
"Wait! What's happening?" She panicked.
"Your way out," he explained almost smugly, "You're an interesting one. I think I'm going to stick around for a while." He smiled before turning into a bright light himself and shooting into the sword. Now, there was a neatly carved magic circle at the beginning of the blade.
That was the last thing she saw before every dispersed into white... And then she was out in the forest, stranded in a large crater with bags of jewels and gems surrounding her, the Imperial army also surrounding her.
"Blue bastard," she cursed at the sword. Trumpets blasted through the air and even though she couldn't see much from below, she knew that they were making way for the Imperial Prince.
Which one? She had no idea.
"You," a deep voice rumbled. Gold could clearly see the large outline of the First Imperial Prince, Ren Kouen. She thanked her lucky stars that she couldn't see his expression because she knew it was as terrifying as they say.
"You need to come with me."
"Well fuck." Not the best thing to say to the First Imperial Prince but she was going to die either way so what the hell.
"Show some respect! You're talking to the First Imperial Prince!" Barked a soldier. Gold was about to give some stupid retort that would certify her death sentence, but before she could, she felt arms wrap around her and a bright light filling her vision.
She swore, she was going to go blind one of these days.
But she wasn't in a giant ditch anymore. She was in a hut. A wooden hut. A nice, warm, cozy, wooden hut.
"Wait- what- how- where-" Was confusion one of the side effects cause that was all she was feeling right now.
Gold heard a deep chuckle and she snapped her head around so fast that she almost thought she was going to break it off. Standing behind her was a tall female- no, male.
He had nice hair though. But his masculine chest told her otherwise.
Like every weird magical creature she has encountered today, he was oddly dressed. But that wasn't the point here.
"W-who are you?" Gold finally managed to ask. The calm smile on his face never wavered as he answered.
"Hello Gold. My name is Yunan."
