Chapter 3

"Alright Vamp, what do you need? Spill, cause I ain't got all day." Kim crossed her arms and sent Finn a guarded glare. He had led her to a secluded part of the mansion and against her better judgement, she let him. All she wanted was for the bloodsucker to speak his peace so she could get back to ball room. She didn't trust that blond bitch with her brother for one minute, much less ten.

"As I said before, we have a mutual friend, Chad." Finn looked around, checking one last time to see if any unwelcomed ear were listening in on their conversation. Kim guessed the old chap didn't want his family knowing what he was up to.

"We're not friends!" She quickly stated, but the vampire ignored her and continued on.

"Usually I with not associate myself with any of his... kind." He eyed her carefully, "But desperate circumstances take president over my own personal ideals."

"Meaning?" She arched a brow.

"My mother and I mean to end our family and Chad has offered to assist us."

"Wait..." She furrowed her brow, confused, "When you say end, you don't mean-"

"Kill? Why yes, I do." He replied stoically.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." She held up her hands, closed her eyes and shook her head, "Hold on. You're telling me you want to kill all your brothers and sisters? And that your mom is helping you?"

"It's more like I am helping her."

"But why? They're your family!"

"My family have been nothing but a curse upon this earth for the past thousand years, bringing only pain and sorrow to all they have met... myself included."

"Okay, so uh..." She paused trying to put together the words foe her next response, "How do I fit in this exactly?"

"Guard duty. We have two witches that are going to help us enact the spell. They need protection during the ritual. If anything happens to them, it'll ruin our whole plan. So we would like you to watch over them."

"Wait a minute. Why the hell would I do any of this? I don't know what Chad told you, but I don't give fuck about you or your family problems. I got enough of my own. Why the hell should I help you?"

"Is the fact you will be making the world a better place not reason enough?"

"Not unless it makes my world better. So long as it doesn't affect me, the whole world could burn for all I care." She crossed her arms.

"Your kind are so heartless…" He shook his head. "Very well then. Think of it this way, with my family gone, the fewer threats you will have around your brother."

"True, but you guys aren't the only threats around, are you?" She arched her brow.

"One demon at a time, Ms. Donovan. Trust me, you will have your time." He took a step closer to her, "I have no doubt with your abilities, you will be able to take of the rest."

"Well, your not wrong there." She stood her ground.

"So will you help us?"

"Yeah, I'll help you" She nodded, "But I got two conditions."

"What are they?"

"First, I don't want Chad anywhere near me. I don't want to see him or hear him. Understand?"

"Alright. Done." He nodded, "And the other?"

"I want you to get the name of my sister's killer from him and tell me." She paused and looked away, "He claims he know, so I want it. But you have to give it to me before we do the ritual." Her gaze turned back to him, "Or else we have no deal."

Finn looked her over a moment, as if he was debating her request in his head. Then he nodded, "Very Well. I will see to it that you're given the name. But promise me once you have it, you will not abandon the witches."

"Fine. I swear."

"Then we are in agreement. Come back in the next few days, our plan will be enacted then. I will contact you again once I have more details."

"How?"

The corner of his lips curled into a small smirk, "I have my ways."

Shortly after her meeting with Finn, Kim returned back to the party in search for her brother. It took her a few moments, but she finally came across his energy signature upstairs. Without another thought, she quickly walked up in her heels and went to go meet him. She was glad to see that he was still okay with all his limbs and bodily fluids enact.

"Hey Matty!" She greeted him with a smile. He was out on the balcony away from the rest of the crowd. "What are you doing up here?"

"Honestly?" He arched a brow, "I just needed a little fresh air. Rebakah can be a little clingy sometimes."

Kim laughed, "I can imagine. Living in a place like this, a girl can be a little..." She paused, looking around at the grandness of the scenery, "High maintenance."

"Tell me about it." He sighed.

"Good evening you two." Another British voice greeted them.

Kim look back she saw it was the same vampire that had been watching her from the dance floor earlier. Just what she needed, another Mikaelson trying to make conversation with her. 'What now?' She thought to herself.

"Uh hi." Matt looked up at him and swallowed hard. Kim guessed he knew who he was too.

"You're Rebekah's friend." The vampire smiled handsomely at her brother, "We haven't met. Kol Mikaelson."

Her brother nodded and replied, "Matt Donovan."

The two shook hands then Kol's gaze turned to her, "Now, I don't believe I know you, darling? What's your name?" He flashed her a dazzling smile, but she knew better. He was a predator of the deadliest kind. He was trying to draw her in.

"Kim Donovan." She answered, watching him carefully. She was ready to throw him down if he so much as blinked the wrong way. However he just continued acting charming as ever.

"A pleasure." He whispered as he pressed a kiss to her knuckles. Never once did his eyes leave hers.

"Ready to go, Kim?" Matt suddenly pulled her away from the vampire.

Kim was about to say yes when Kol advanced on Matt, putting her on edge, "What's the rush, mate? The party's not ending any time soon. You two should stick around, grab a drink. I sure know I could use one." He grinned and for a second, she could swear he was showing off his fangs to Matt.

Right then, Kim almost launched herself in front of her brother, ready to fight the bloodsucker off. However, instead Matt grabbed her and shouted, "Forget it!" and dragged her away. "We're leaving! Come on, Kim."

"Alright," She nodded and let her little brother lead her away. She looked back just once to make sure Kol wasn't coming after them. He wasn't, but from the look on his face it looked like he had half a mind to. Fortunately, they made it back to their car without incident and were able to make it back home safely. Matt stayed on edge the rest of the night, but Kim knew they were okay for now. Tomorrow was what they needed to be worried about. From what she knew about the originals, they didn't stay alive this long by their good looks and luck, they were survivalist and there was no way in hell they were not going down without a fight. Now she just needed to wait to hear back from Finn and hope their plan works or else she'd piss off four very, very powerful vampires.
