AN: Okay. So..this chapter contains some physical abuse & deals with the subject of family violence. This chapter is based on real events but obviously didn't happen to the people involved. Where else to get ideas for a story than your own life? Hope nobody gets their knickers in a twist over this chapter, but you're about to meet a new character and her relationship to Hannah, and learn more about Hannah's past before the events that took place in Hell. We may even find out who the baby-daddy is in this chapter, who knows I may even drag it out til the new chapter :) mwah ha ha. Also, Thanks to Jempa1112 for TWO reviews. I feel special. And also, The main character of this story is Hannah, But during some points in this fic, It will be based from the viewpoint of other characters. Their viewpoints will be headed by their names, so you know whose view point it's from.
I glanced down at the bump in horror, praying to God, to anyone, that I wasn't what I thought I was. Pregnant. Pregnant? How's that even possible? I ran my fingers gently over my belly and shuddered. Was I pregnant before I died? Maybe whatever resurrected me had resurrected my baby. That still didn't explain how this bump had risen overnight. I know that for a fact, it hadn't been there yesterday. What was going on? I closed my eyes and took a deep breath "Just wake up, just wake up. It's a dream. Just wake up Hannah". I opened my eyes and I was still in the bathroom. Nope. Guess it's not a dream. Sighing, I padded back into my room & tied my hair back with a clip, went back into the bathroom and slipped into the shower. The hot water felt incredible against my skin, it felt like the water was washing away the stresses of the last two days, off my skin. When I stepped out of the shower I felt clean and refreshed. But no more relaxed than I had been before my shower. The bathroom was clouded with steam, I walked over to the white marble sink and wiped the condensation off the steel-framed mirror. My golden hair hung six inches past my shoulders in a wet mess, my light blue eyes looked dull and tired. I was physically and emotionally exhausted from coming face to face with the horror of my nightmare, who turned out to be nothing more than a weeping, ashamed, shell of a man. Why did I still fear him?
I went back into my bedroom and flung open the double doors to my walk-in wardrobe and walked past the aisles of shoes til I got to the jeans. Once I found a pair of black jeans I tossed them on my bed and went back into the wardrobe in search of a top, jacket and shoes. My immediate choice was a black corset singlet and a black leather jacket & black leather ankle boots with a high heel. Once I changed, I went into Sid's room where I found her getting ready. "Sid, have you got your bag packed? We have to get a move-on if you don't want to be late for pre-school" Sid grabbed her bag and I tied her blonde hair in a high ponytail. Her pink t-shirt and jeans were adorable, thankfully she had decided a week earlier that she could dress herself from now one, which gave me extra time to get ready in the morning. After dropping Sid at preschool and giving her a reassuring kiss on the cheek, I headed to the antique store. By the time I'd parked outside the store, I'd found the slip of paper and dialed Dean's number as I walked into the shop, Giving Rachel a wave while I headed to the counter and sat on it. "Dean. It's Hannah. Some crazy stuff's been happening that I can't...comprehend, I guess. Can you meet me at Dave's Diner on Maverick Street...okay. See you then. Thanks Dean" I hung up my phone and slid it in my pocket and held my head in my hands. One minute I was happy to be alive and then the next minute..total shitstorm.
By the time noon rolled around, Rachel and I had sold six peices of antique furniture to a lovely gay couple named Brenda and Shiree. They promised to come back more often and Rachel had put on a pot of coffee in the staffroom. After our half-hour coffee break I left the store in the capable hands of ever-helpful Rachel and headed to Dave's Diner to meet Dean. As I pulled the diner shop open the bell rang out, I noticed Dean sitting in one of the booths in the corner looking around nervously. "Hey Dean" I slid into the booth and looked across the table at him, a little nervous myself. "Hey. What's going on?" He handed me a menu. "Thought we could have some lunch" He explained. I smiled "Let me guess, you're ordering pie?" he looked a little embarassed "I kinda already ordered. And yes, it was pie" I set the menu down on the table "I called you because.. I woke up this morning and.. I'm pregnant" Dean shrugged "Congrats. Who's the Dad?" I shrugged "I honestly don't know, I haven't..you know..been with anyone since Hell. I don't even know how it's possible" Dean thought for a moment "Were you pregnant before you died, maybe whoever raised you raised your unborn kid back too" I shook my head "No, I thought of that. The crazy thing is, Yesterday I didn't have a bump..and today. I look at least three months pregnant. I'm freaking out. I don't understand".
Dean looked at me sincerly "Maybe we should ask Bobby" "Who's Bobby?" "A friend. He might know what's going on" Dean's pie was set down on the table by a waitress with the nametag "Donna". My stomach churned and I gagged. "I'll be back in a sec" I promise, before jumping up and running to the bathroom. Guess who just got their first dose of morning sickness? By the time I left the ladies room I was sure Dean had left, but no, there he sat, looking concerned. When I sat back down he looked me over "Are you okay? I was going to check on you but it was a ladies room.." I smiled weakly "Yeah. I'm fine. Morning sickness I think. God, I never got morning sickness with Sid. This just sucks" Dean looked confused "Sid?" "Yeah, my daughter" The diner bell jingled again as a customer entered the shop. Dean looked past me to the person walking in the door and a frown flickered across his face. "Do you know her?" He pointed. I turned and looked behind me and for a second I swear my heart skipped a beat. It wasn't just anyone I was looking at. The face staring back at me was familiar. The face of the sister I hadn't seen in six years. I let out the breath I hadn't realised I'd been holding. "Natalie?".
My sister wandered over with a smirk "Hey big sis. How's things?" I was lost for words. There was a good reason we hadn't spoken. See, those six years ago we had a bad life. And after all the stuff went down, my sister ran off and got herself a new life, forgot about the family and pretended we didn't exist. She was lucky. She escaped.
"Dad calm down!" Natalie pleaded, Dad shook his head and pushed her to the floor "Shut up! Just shut the hell up!" Hannah ran out from the kitchen to the hallway and saw her dad stamping on Natalie as she lay on the floor defenseless. Hannah grabbed her dad and yanked him off her sister, Natalie got up and ran past Hannah and her father, through the kitchen and out the back door. Their father turned and backhanded Hannah across the face, the sixteen year old slammed into the hallway mirror and her vision became warped. Her father picked her up, threw her into her room and left her bleeding on the floor, slipping in and out of unconciousness. "Natalie.." Hannah called weakly, hoping that if there was a God, he would save her, and bring her sister back.
Like that would happen. Natalie never came home that night, or the next night, or ever. She ran away and stayed away. While little old me, who was weak, stayed behind and had to deal with my father's constant abuse and beatings. Natalie, a year younger than me, got out and never looked back. I've never spoken about her past, not to Rachel or any of my friends. My grandfather Tom didn't even know about the abuse I suffered from since I was a child. Now here my sister was, showing up out of the blue. For six years I hadn't known if my sister was dead or alive. Guess we can safely say she's alive huh?
It was like time had stopped, like it was only Natalie and I in the diner, I'd even forgotten about Dean for a moment. Natalie shot me a nervous grin "Hey Hannah. It's been a long time" I took a moment to look her over before replying. Her once light-red hair was now a dark red and brown waterfall, Her long sleek hair fell down to her shoulders and her blue eyes were watching me sharply. For a second she was that frightened child from my memories, now she stood before me as a woman. Changed and yet familiar. Tears began to fall down my cheeks "Nattie. I missed you" I walked over to my younger sister and pulled her into a hug. Customers didn't notice us, two sisters hugging in the middle of the diner, they were too busy eating. As I stood there, hugging Natalie and sobbing, I heard Dean get get up from our booth. "I'm going back to the motel, I'll call Bobby and get back to you" He said from somewhere behind me, obviously he felt like he was intruding on a private moment. I turned away from Natalie and faced Dean "If you find anything out, please come to number four Marlott Terrace. Please" Dean nodded and walked out the diner door, I turned back to Natalie "Where have you been?". Natalie shrugged "After I ran away, I hitchiked to California and spent two years surfing and living out the back of my van. Then I moved to Miami and was a nanny for three years and then last year I was in Canada working as a bartender and I've been doing that up til now. Tom called me. He said you died, well, he called six months ago. I went to your funeral. And then two days ago I get another call from Tom, that it wasn't you who died and you've been home for two months. Then he started rambling on about a girl called Katey.." Natalie leant across the table we sat at and smiled "I think Tom's losing it, but hey, here I am".
Sam searched his laptop for another case, He figured that since Dean had met Hannah, he'd want to skip town ASAP. Dean strolled into the motel room and flopped onto Sam's bed. "Guess where I just was" Dean grinned. Sam grimaced "Do I really want to know?" "I was with Hannah. She's pregnant. Which is crazy since she hasn't slept with anyone since she got back from the pit and says she wasn't up the duff before hell. I'm gonna call Bobby and see what he can dig up".
"Yeah this isn't unheard of, girl goes to Hell and gets knocked up by a demon. Normally the girl goes through her pregnancy in Hell, gives birth and is thrown back on the rack. There's a few stories of girls being pulled out of the pit only to discover they're pregnant. A half-demon half-human child is a Cambion, a being with immense power..yadda yadda yadda. If you've found yourself a girl who got knocked up in Hell, you should probably keep an eye on her. A demonic pregnancy takes a lot of energy, This girl's going to be a weak target. It's up to you two what you wanna do. Just be careful ya idjits".
Natalie drove behind me when I drove home from the diner, Dean hadn't called me so I figured that whatever this "Bobby" guy knew or had found out, this was bad. We drove through the gates, parked our cars and headed inside. Tom greeted us in the foyer, gave Natalie a welcoming hug and pulled me aside. "There's a Sam and Dean here to see you". He pointed to the living room, I shrugged my leather jacket off, hung it up and went into the living room. Sam and Dean sat on the sofa in front of the fireplace. I took a seat in the armchair to the left of the sofa, angled to partially face the fireplace as well. Sam smiled politely "You have a nice home-" I waved a hand, cutting him off "Thank you Sam. So boys, Does your friend know anything?" Sam sat there explaining what Bobby had told them, and what was growing inside me. When he was done, I sat there in a daze. I only snapped back to reality when Dean asked if I was alright "Not really" I answered truthfully "I have a demonic baby growing inside me. This is just fantastic" I replied sarcastically. "Please. Let this be a dream" I whispered to myself.
With my sister in the house, I figured I'd need plenty of company to keep me sane so while she stayed, and who knew for how long Natalie would be here for? So I invited Sam and Dean to stay at my house while we figured out what the hell was going on. Meanwhile Natalie was asleep upstairs, she'd driven from Canada to Bank Creek in two days, almost non-stop. Poor thing was exhausted. Dean was in the kitchen kitchen with Tom, who was suprisingly drinking Dean under the table . Sidona was asleep in her bed, and had been for the last few hours. I wandered into the library which ran off the living room. James, my dead ex-fiancee, stocked the library with thousands of books over the three years we were together. He had each section in our private library labelled Horror, Romance, Tragedy, Drama, Super/Para - Normal, etc. I walked over to the supernatural section and picked out a few books. Guess it's time I learn about the real world.
