Quote of thee day-
"We both want to have done more. We both regret that we can't. No one could possibly understand like he does. How could they? Dexter and I... We're the same!" -Olga: Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi
"I've decided to return this to you. Don't think, however, it properly belongs to you. Heh. See it as a… Exchange. You keep it, and I don't have to deal with it. That's fair because it's convenient for all of us." – 'The girl' (aka Alice) to Amu, after she returns the lock.
...
'What's done is done.' Alice thought. 'I returned it. Now, there's nothing to worry about. For now, at least…'
...
The gang were in the 'royal garden' right now discussing who was going to prepare tomorrow's work. Alice had done it yesterday, so she's off the hook now. As the others discussed that, Alice began to wonder what other thing's she could do to kill the time with when she wasn't at school. It's not as if she has many friends here besides the others. Though, to her, they weren't really friends either. They were ust companions that she required to talk to from time to time. Besides, not like they really like her. Just as she had intended it to be.
When the discussion was over, it was decided Nadeshiko was taking over the paper work for today. This was one out of many jobs though, so no matter how much Alice wanted to. She couldn't get out of it.
"Kukai-kun," Tadase said. "Could you ask the sports club their thoughts?"
"Yeah." Kukai nodded.
"Yuiki-san." Yaya looked at him. "Help them both."
"Ok!
"Shinji-san." Alice looked at him. "You get the Art club."
She nodded montonely. 'Art club?' Alice thought. She didn't know they had one of those…
"As for Hinamori-san." Alice could see the anticipation waving off of Amu.
"There's nothing for you." Amu slammed her head of the table.
As Amu complained about not getting jobs, and the others began explaining to her again, why. Alice stood up and excused herself, wanting to take a look at the Art Club. For… the assignment reasons, of course.
When Alice got to the Art Club, instead of knocking, she just entered. She's been in enough Art Club's to know that knocking would only cause a disturbance. Especially to someone who's been working on a painting for months.
Alice saw everyone hard at work as she walked around the Art Club. Many would just ask who the one in charge is, but Alice knew she'd know them when she sees them. And she was right. In the very back corner, Alice saw a boy who was an upper classman. She'd seen him before talking to Kukai-senpai once.
She re-called that the boy's name is Morikawa Satsku. Morikawa-san had tannish skin, hazel eyes, and the standard boy's uniform. His bottom ear length hair was parted to the right, and was a skater boyish style. The color was dark enough to not be called orange, but still light enough to be. Alice's never seen a hair color like it before.
Alice saw the boy was really into his painting, so she had decided to wait. It felt like forever until Morikawa-san snapped out of his daze and his eyes trailed over to her. He put down his paint brush, stood up, and looked at her. They both inspected each other for a minute. Satsku noticing this was the new kid/guardian that picked a fight with Kukai, and was a younger classman. Alice noticing Morikawa-san was an inch taller than her, had a single earring in his right ear, and was somewhat handsome.
After they had fully investigated each other, both Morikawa-san and Alice shook hands and introduced themselves.
"Shinji Night, 5th grader," Alice said, shaking firmly.
"Morikawa Satsku, 6th grader," he replied, shaking firmly as well. When they had both let go, Alice took out of her bag the paper Tadase had given her.
Morikawa-san took it, and a look of displeasure and annoyance was clearly seen on his features. He sighed, putting the paper away and looked back at Alice. She was currently taking in the room and all the art equipment.
He stared at her for a moment before saying, "Are you perhaps… interested in joining the Art Club?"
Alice didn't look at him, but none the less replied with, "yeah. But, the guardian duties will only get in the way."
"Not necessarily." He said, looking away from her. "Would you like a tour?"
Alice saw no point in that, seeing as the room wasn't the biggest one, but not the smallest. Even though it was a dumb offer, Alice accepted out of courtesy.
While Alice was getting a tour around the Art Club by Morikawa-san, a certain pinklette was going to look for her.
Amu was outside, Nadeshiko had currently left her and now she attempted to find Shinji-san out of Tadase's request. Since she complained about having anything to do, Tadase suggested she should just tag along with Shinji-san. Great.
"Tadase said Night-chan was assigned to the Art Club, right?" Ran said and Amu nodded. "Then let's go!"
"WAIT!" Just then a girl yelled. Amu looked forward and saw someone she never knew before running fast towards her. Moving out of the way, the girl turned and looked at Amu. She held out her hand and introduced herself.
The girl's name was Watarai Misaki, and in the 5th moon class. She was hyper, liked Tadase, and apparently wanted Amu and her to join forces or something. After a lesson of learning about Tadase, Amu, once again, got duped into another plan. However, Amu said she'd only fully agreed if Watarai helped her find Shinji-san.
"That's a good idea!" Amu recalled Watarai saying. "If we get Shinji Night on our side as well, we'll be sure that no one can get Tadase-kun!"
Amu merely sweat-dropped at Watarai antics, but said nothing.
When they finally decided to go out and look for Shinji-san, Amu was rather surprised to see her having basic conversation and laughing along with the others in the Art Club after finding her. Though, there were none that were her age, only younger ones or older students. Shinji-san was smiling, laughing, and having a fun time with the artists. Something she never did with them. Amu was barely even able to get a single line out of her, much less a laugh or a smile.
Then, deciding it was best not to spoil her enjoyment, Amu stopped Watarai before she could go in and suggested that they should leave. She, however, insisted they should recruit Shinji-san while they still can- seeing as she was in a good mood- and slammed the door open.
This scared the Art Club students. Their faces were full of slight shock before turning to horrified looks. Watarai was confused by this before she heard a big crash of things breaking and falling onto to the floor. Turning, she saw that there was a big canvas next to the door, seemed to have fallen over when she opened it. The big canvas looked to have knocked over the painting stool which knocked over a gigantic sculpture that broke the table where all the paints and papers were placed and ruined all the finished plus blank canvas that were next to or underneath them. They were all covered in various colors from the paints and all the equipment was either ruined, broken, or just scattered all over the place.
Both Amu and Wakarai sweat-dropped and were shocked at the dilemma they just caused. They were both about to apologize for the huge mess they made when they found themselves kicked out of the Art Club by the glaring and overly angry artists.
When Alice saw the others kick both of the girls out, Alice sighed and packed up her stuff. She helped the others preserve whatever equipment they could find unbroken or not ruined, while throwing the rest away in the trash. Seeing that she was now done doing that, Alice walked towards the door. Everyone looked at her as she did this, and turning, Alice bowed.
"I'm sorry for the mess they both caused," she apologized. "I'll try to get the others and Tsukasa to try to replace all the equipment. Plus, I especially want to apologize to those whose painting were ruined."
Standing straight again, Alice said a simple "excuse me" before leaving the classroom. Walking out the school gates, she sighed and felt really saddened that she will most likely not be able to return, seeing as what happened.
"Well," Alice told her chara's. "It was fun while it lasted."
While Alice walked home after a long day at school for some rest, the villains were still at work. Particularly a singer and her manager. The manager was working hard on their computer while their singer was looking off into the distance of the illuminated city.
"The project is progressing smoothly." The manager said, not looking at the teen. The manager then spun around in her chair and looked at the girl who was faced away from her.
"Your schedule will move along accordingly, Utau." She told her. "It won't be child's play from this point on."
However, these words went deaf upon the blonde girl's ears. She was too busy thinking about certain girl from the past who appeared, once again, onto to her and her brother's territory.
'Stray Crow'… You started filling up Ikuto's thoughts again. I already have a certain lock owner to be cautious about, now you show up? I may be slightly happy, but for returning and making Ikuto hurt again. For that, I could never forgive you.'
When they both exited out of the building, and were walking down the stairs, they met up with a certain neko man. Utau looked down at him.
"Ikuto." She said.
Ikuto looked at Utau for a minute, before looking down and continuing walking on. Utau had a hurt look on her face. As he pasted them, Sanjo said something.
"Aren't you late, Ikuto-kun?" She said. "The Director is calling you."
Utau bangs covered her eyes as she yelled out her brother's name, making him stop. Sanjo turned and looked at Ikuto.
"I'll grant your wish." Utau told him before yelling out. "I'll do what that coward 'Stray Crow' couldn't!"
Ikuto gasped and his eyes widen a bit at hearing the title. Sanjo took note this. He hesitated for a moment before trudging forward again. The thoughts of a girl flooding his mind once more.
'Stray Crow'…?' Sanjo thought. 'Interesting…' She knew'd she'd have to do some research on that.
The next day when Alice entered the 'royal garden', she was rather surprised when Amu and the other girl from yesterday apologized to her. Alice didn't see any point in this. Who they should've been apologizing to was the Art Club and all its members.
"Why are you apologizing to me?" Alice said. "You destroyed the Art Club's stuff, not mine."
"We aren't apologizing to you for that!" The brunette yelled. A grin stretched onto her face. "We're apologizing because Amu here said that you looked like you were having such a good time in there!"
"Erk!" Amu said, deadpanning. She tried to make the brunette be quiet, but to no avail.
"I mean," the brunette continued. "She said since you never smile or laugh or do any conversation with the members here, it was rather surprising to you enjoying yourself."
'Enjoying myself?' Alice asked. Laughing, smiling, conversation, she hadn't noticed herself doing that at all. That wasn't good.
"By the way," the brunette held out her hands towards Alice. "My name is Watarai Misaki, a 5th grader in the moon class."
Alice took her hand in hers and shook it.
"My name is Shinji Night, also a 5th grader." She introduced. When girls had let go, the bell had rung and they both went their separate ways, heading off to class.
When lunch arrived, Alice, once again, was surprised. The moment she left class, and headed to the roof, she ran into Morikawa-san. Any person would've of thought this was a coincidence, but Alice wasn't any person. She knew he was going to discuss about yesterday. Besides, upperclassmen weren't allowed in the 5th graders sections, and vice versa.
"What it is, Morikawa-san?" Alice asked him. "What do you want?"
"Satsku is fine. And nothing." He said, trying to be clueless. "Do I really need a reason to walk through the 5th grade halls?"
When Alice crossed her arms and gave him a look, he sighed.
"Fine." He held out a paper. Alice took it.
'A sign-up sheet?' She looked back up at Mor-Satsku-kun. A questioning look morphed onto Alice's features.
"The others wanted me to give it to you." He replied, taking out a pen. "Here's a pen, fill it out."
When she didn't take it, Satsku sighed and told Alice that she wouldn't be able to leave his or the others sights until she filled it out. Thinking he and the others wouldn't really do this, Alice simply walked away.
"Are you sure, Alice?" Rin asked her.
"Yeah." Alice replied. "Besides, I-
"Are you a schizophrenic or something?" Alice stopped dead in her tracks and turned around. Satsku was standing right there behind her. A hint of curiosity in his eyes.
"Wha-?" Alice said confusedly.
"Just asking." Satsku shrugged. "I wouldn't mind if you were. I don't judge. Just curious, ya know?"
Alice just blankly looked at him before continuing to walk away. 'What was that about?' Alice thought. 'I thought I left him back there. He's not seriously following me, is he?"
"Alice?" Aya mumbled. What was she doing out?
"Um…" She looked somewhat nervous.
"What is it, Aya?" Alice asked her, stopping again.
"U-Uh…" Aya's eyes trailed behind Alice, and Alice followed.
Satsku was right behind her again. A blank look on his face.
'H-He's still here.' Alice's eyebrow's furrowed.
"So," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm guessing you are a schizophrenic. Considering there is no one else in this hallway. Only you and me. Seeing your face, you clearly didn't know I was still following you. And you were talking to someone."
"Yeah…" Alice said, glaring at him and completely ignoring his question. "What are you doing still following me?"
"As I said before," he said boredly. "Not leaving you out of my sights until you sign- He took out another paper- this paper."
Alice crossed her arms. "No way am I signing it. Now leave, because unless you have somewhere to be. I'll be going."
"It's ok." She heard him say, and the footsteps behind her continued to make noise once again. She could feel him smirking and the cockiness in his voice didn't help her temperature even more.
"I have time."
"Ta-da!" Watarai-chan held up a paper with a pink star on it. "It's our secret weapon: the love charm!"
Amu sweat-dropped. "You saw that show, too?"
"How did I get here?" Alice asked herself.
"Well," Satsku-kun answered. "You got kidnapped, and I simply followed."
Alice glared at him.
"I was a rhetorical question, idiot." She replied coldly at him. Instead of acting hurt like she suspected he would, he just angrily pouted.
As Amu and Watarai-chan continued their plans about Tadase, Alice and Satsku-kun just watched them boredly. They would attempt to leave, but whenever they tried, Watarai-chan would tackled them to the ground and sit on them for 20 minutes. Better to wait for their chance to leave then be attacked again.
However, their attentions were captured again when Watarai-chan began to speak about how she fell for Tadase. It may have sounded stupid, but Alice couldn't help but feel it was cute in some way. It was nice to see this girl was at least devoted to him, not just crushing on him for his looks. Then she began to talk about how her nature warded away others, all in all, Alice felt pity for the girl. Sure, she may have been a bit too energetic, but it wasn't as bad as Kukai's. Kukai was the most energetic Alice has ever met, and he was well liked!
She sighed. 'This is how it is, huh?'
"Come on!" Watarai-chan yelled through Alice's thoughts. She looked up and saw Watarai-chan was looking pumped again.
"Hurry up," she yelled. "Hinamori Amu, Shinji Night, and Morikawa Satsku-senpai!"
Each of them had a different reaction to Watarai's hyperness. Amu grew embarrassed as random students looked at them weirdly. Alice glared so they would look away. And Satsku-kun just didn't care.
Either way, they all looked like a weird mix of people who you would never see hanging out with each other, and it didn't help with Watarai-chan's hyper attitude. This was definitely what was on the other student's minds as they walked through the hallways, trying to find Tadase.
They had already tried the 'royal garden' with Yaya, who begged Alice and Amu to stay. The classroom where they were simply sent to the library. Then from the library to the student council room and so forth. So, pretty much in the end when they did find him, Alice felt more exhausted then she should've.
She sighed as she collapsed on one of the seats in the student council room. Watarai, Amu, and Tadase were gone, and she decided to take a break before one of them came back.
"I'm not working fast and hard enough if I'm continuing to endure this bull…" She mumbled. Her chara's flew up to her and tried to fan her down.
"Your friends are interesting." Alice looked up, now remembering that Satsku-kun was still here.
She scoffed and sat up straight, looking at him.
"They aren't my friends," she told him. "Don't assume things."
He looked at her. An unreadable looked on his face.
"Then what are they?" He asked.
"Chess pieces." She replied. And they were. Alice came here for a mission, not to be buddy-buddy. That was another reason she refused to join the Art Club. Amu made her see that her barricade slightly goes down when she's there, and she can't let that happen.
"Chess pieces for w- Alice flinched then froze. It was happening again.
She couldn't hear Satsku-kun's voice anymore as the atmosphere around her changed and went silent. The air was tense and the once bright classroom turned in a blackish-purple color. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. The moment they snapped back open, the old surrounding returned, and Satsku-kun was looking at her weirdly.
"Are you alr-Hey!" He yelled when she quickly stood up. Alice ran out of the room with Satsku-kun quickly following after her.
He tried yelling at her to slow down and stop, but she didn't. 'What's her deal!?' He asked himself as he continued to run after her. She was pretty ahead of him.
"H-How c-can s-she R-RUN S-SO F-F-FAST?!" He panted out, stopping to take a quick breath. He was never much of a runner, seeing as he was always cooped up in the Art Club. Finishing his quick break, he sped up again in hopes not to lose her.
"Go get Hinamori!" Alice yelled to Mato. She nodded and flew off. She was the fastest out of all of them so she would get her time. Alice would stall for now.
When she felt the connection grow stronger, Alice sped up and found Watarai-chan in the middle of an empty field in the forest. Amu was their too with Mato.
"Shinji-san!" Amu said, turning around. Watarai-chan turned as well as the X-egg floated next to her. "An X-egg!"
'It's useless…' Alice shivered at the whispers coming from Watarai-chan's heart. 'As if… As if anyone like him would like a hyper girl like me…'
"I don't want to be like this anymore!" She yelled and the X-egg cracked, revealing an X-character.
"Love!" It said. "Love! Hate!"
The sparkles emitting from the X-character cause Watarai-chan to pass out. Alice tried to catch her, but the character attacked her before she could. She flew back and landed on the ground.
"What a pity," said Nikaidou, watching the fight from a far. "Not the Embryo, huh? Well, no big deal. Show me what your power can do, Himamori-san."
"Shinji-san!" Amu yelled, trying to help her when the character also attacked her. She managed to dodge it, however.
Alice looked and nodded towards Rin. Nikaidou, seeing this, grew interested in what next step the girl would do.
"Watashino Kokoro," she whispered, quickly getting up. "My heart: UNLOCK!"
Nikaidou froze, and he left out a gasp. This power… he had never felt anything like it. He snapped back up to look at Alice. She was already in the transformation circle.
Alice saw the familiar silverish, pure white atmosphere surround her. Rin curtsied before going into her egg, and grabbing it, Alice put it into her heart. Alice's hair grew shorter and curly and was put up into a ponytail with a few single strands that fell on the sides of her face. The sparkles that covered her body flew away and revealed a light pink, loose, sleeveless shirt, flower patterned shorts, light pink converse, leather brown fingerless gloves, and brown satchel.
Alice dropped back to the ground, perfectly landing on her feet.
"Chara Nari: Veritiero Devotion." He heard her say, and she took out an arrow from her bag. He watched her as she began to fight the X-character in attempts to see what power she possessed. After she continued to fight, Nikaidou took notice that with each surge of power she launched with the arrow, the Humpty Lock would slightly glow with more light.
"Hinamori!" She yelled. "Go on, transform while I finish my part!"
Amu did as she said and transformed. While she did that Alice stopped attacking for a moment and looked towards the X-character and Watarai-chan.
'No one'll ever like someone as hyper as me!' Alice heard the whispers of Watarai-chan's heart say. "No one'll will ever like me! No one'll ever like me! No one'll ever li-'
Alice grew annoyed. "WHO CARES!" She yelled.
The X-character seemed to freeze at this. Alice took this chance. Nodding towards Amu, who finished transforming, Amu grew ready.
"Why should you care how people look at you?" Alice asked her. "Earlier, when I was being dragged around by you all day, you seemed to be enjoying yourself. Sure, you may have been too hyper, but that was the real you! Don't ever say no one likes you. I like you, Satsku-kun likes you, and Hinamori likes you. Don't we count? If no liked you, then why would we have bothered to stay with you? Not everything is black and white, when someone likes you, they'll stay because they enjoy the true you. Who you meant to, and who you'll always be! Misaki!"
Much to everyone's surprise, the Humpty Lock then glowed bright as Alice yelled towards Amu to finish it. Nodding, Amu progressed a quick Open Heart, and Misaki heart was then cleansed.
A little chara with a wedding dress then appeared in front of Alice and Amu. She floated towards them.
"So, is this your dream?" Amu asked.
"I want to get married to the person I love and be happy." The little chara said. Alice couldn't help, but crack a little smile towards that. It was a nice dream.
"Have the best of loves in your future." She said, throwing half of the bouquet to Amu and the other half to Alice. They both smiled and the flowers in their hands and replied with an "okay."
"Bye, Night-chan, Amu-chan." The chara said and waved as she entered her egg. "Thanks."
The egg then returned to Misaki's heart and she slowly woke up.
"Nice going," Nikaidou said, looking at both Amu and Alice. "Both of you. You just gave me an interesting thing to look upon and tell the Director."
"Huh?" Misaki quickly sat up. "Where am I?"
"About time you woke up." Alice stated, as if nothing happened. "Besides, being normal is overrated. Hinamori and I think you're ok, just the way you are. Nee, Hinamori?"
Amu nodded, and they both helped Misaki up. Tadase then showed up and told Misaki that being energetic was fine, to which she snagged away Amu and Alice and stated that he now liked her. This made Amu and her now quarrel again, and Alice took that time to leave.
As she was walking out of the school gates, she meet up with a pissed off Satsku-kun. He was there along with another little girl.
"He seems pretty pissed, huh?" Mato said.
"Seems so," Alice replied. She walked up to them and the little girl hugged her.
Her name was Morikawa Chibi, a third grader. She was the younger sister of Satsku-kun. Chibi had short curly hair in two twin buns and it was the same color as Satsku's, hazel eyes. She wore the standard girl's uniform and had a huge smile on her face. She was also in the Art Club.
"Night-senpai!" Chibi looked up at Alice. "Let's walk home together."
"And by let's," Satsku said, walking up. "She means, should."
Alice rolled her eyes, but said nothing as Chibi let go of her and began to drag her out of the gates along with Satsku.
Elsewhere, Nikaidou did as he promised and informed the Director about Alice and what she did today. As well as do some re-search, while Sanjo did so too. What they found on the girl was much better then what the Director had hoped for, and it seemed, this information could be used to take down the Guardians, once and for all.
Thanks for reading.
