Well, here is the last chapter! Might as well finish and update as many stories as I can! Oh yeah, before I go on, I want to clear something up that frozen galaxy brought up to my attention, thank goodness. The reason Ryouga skated at night was because he was with his mother. He had an adult with him... And Ryouga's Mother wasn't wearing skates...Lol...
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal or Kamen Rider Wizard.
Rio couldn't believe all that she heard. Kaito had suffered through so much... This guy! Rio, feeling solemn after hearing Kaito's heart wrenching story, refused to meet him in the eye. They were currently sitting at a bench that faced the hospital garden. To them, the silence danced peacefully around them.
"...Kaito..." Rio mumbled, barely audible to anyone not close to her. But Kaito was close enough.
"What?" he asked.
"...Why do you care about people so much?"
Kaito momentarily froze. No one in his life had ever asked him that because...Well, they just assumed he didn't care because of his cold personality. But this girl... "I don't care about anyone," he finally whispered.
Rio looked up at him in shock. "What?"
Kaito kept his gaze forward. "You heard me."
Rio shook her head. "You're wrong! You care about-"
"All I care about is my conscience," Kaito sharply interrupted.
Rio tilted her head. "...Your...conscience?"
"If I see someone in trouble, I have to help them. If I don't, it will forever be in my conscience. I'm just feeding my conscience with visual support," Kaito clarified.
"Ah..." Rio...ahhed. But inside, she knew otherwise. Kaito was such a stubborn guy. "Whatever you say, Beast!"
Kaito turned to her with a frowning expression. "Beast?"
Rio smirked. "Someone you don't need to know..." She paused for a few seconds before she pieced the "for-sure" question. "On second thought... Do you like mayonnaise?"
Kaito glared at her. "No. Hate it."
Rio shrugged. "That's too bad! You could have actually made a good Beast!" As soon as she said that, she imagined Kaito transforming into Beast, hand motions and all. She couldn't help it! She laughed. Loud.
Kaito never liked being made fun of and never will. "Why are laughing?" he asked threateningly.
Rio tried to say something, but she went back to laughing. Kaito kept glaring at her until she finally stopped. "Sorry..."
Kaito stopped glaring and looked forward, serious. "I hope this time you will take care of your injuries."
Rio looked down at her feet. "Yeah...But still..."
Kaito didn't like where this was going. "If the doctor said you can't skate for a month, then you can't."
Rio glared at him. "Come on, Kaito! Even you know...You know what? Nevermind. It's pointless to argue with you..." Rio went back to sulking.
Kaito smirked. "Glad to see that someone has finally catched on. But you're not of the hook just yet."
Rio widened her eyes and turned to him alarmingly. "No...You wouldn't!"
Kaito took his smirk off his face and frowned. "He has to know."
Desperately, Rio grabbed his arm. "Kaito!"
Kaito turned to her. "Don't touch me."
Rio glared at him and began squeezing his arm. Well, as much as she could, seeing as he wasn't flinching in pain at all. "How come you can touch me then?! And why do you want to tell my brother about this incident?! I've learned my lesson!"
Kaito glared at her hard and took her arm that was holding his arm. "I said: Don't touch me."
Rio secretly tried to yank her arm away. But he wouldn't budge. "Then don't touch me! Kaito! I'm begging you! Please don't tell my brother..."
"He doesn't need to tell me anything Rio...I've heard enough..."
Rio looked up wide-eyed to see her brother. Ryouga... "Ryouga..." As reflex, Rio thought to stand up and run from him. So she did just that... Except that she forgot that Kaito was holding her arm. She looked at him with alarming eyes. "Let go..."
Kaito looked at her dead in the eye and shook his head. "I don't abide to the commands of people younger than me." Kaito stood up and pulled Rio up with him. He walked over to Ryouga, all the while dragging Rio, and nodded. "Here." In a swift movement, he handed Rio to Ryouga. "I'll leave you two to talk."
Rio looked at the ground while Ryouga looked at her.
"...What are you waiting for, ani?" Rio mumbled.
Ryouga blinked. "What?"
"...Aren't you going to yell at me?"
Ryouga sighed in frustration. "You're injured," he plainly stated.
This time, it was Rio who blinked. "...And?"
"Your injuries may get worse if I yell at you."
Rio blinked once, then twice. She burst out laughing. Ryouga twitched at her reaction. "WHAT?!"
Slowly, but surely, Rio stifled in her laugh. "...You can't physical hurt someone with words. Mentally, yes. But, physically, highly impossi-"
"That's not true!" Ryouga angrily interrupted. Rio widened her eyes at her brother's outburst. Ryouga continued. "You've gotten physically hurt before by just words..."
Rio widened her eyes. "...What...?" Then she remembered about their duel at school... She was about to give up. If it weren't for Testuo's words of encouragement, she might have never finished the duel. "...This is different though..."
Ryouga glared at her. "How different is it really is?"
Rio bit her lip and looked at the ground. "Very different. I'm not dueling you. For one. Second, these injuries are really no-"
"How could you say that Rio...?" Ryouga asked and angrily interrupted in a very low voice.
"...Ryouga..." Rio began but got interrupted by Ryouga himself.
"You are the most important person in my life! These injuries caused for you to stop skating for a month! Do-"
"Well, do you think that I don't know?!" Rio yelled back. She held her head in frustration. "Ugh! It's very frustrating to deal with this! Ani, I'm sorry! But I just love skating so much! And of course people get hurt! Injuries are part of-"
"I know that Rio!" Ryouga angrily interrupted. Rio widened her eyes. "But that doesn't mean they should ignore them... People should tend to their injuries while they can... You don't want to end up like Kaito do you?"
Rio gaped at her older brother. "...Then...!" Ryouga nodded. "That Ryouga guy in Kaito's story was you?!" Rio asked in shock.
Ryouga nodded. "Yes. In other words, it was my fault that he could never skate again..."
"That's not true, Ryouga." Both Rio and Ryouga looked up to see Kaito and Haruto walk towards them. "You may have been the reason that I got into that accident, but you weren't the reason I could never skate again."
Rio blinked back and forth at her brother and Kaito. They had a history together... And she was reliving it with Kaito... Wow. Who knew fate could pull strings like that...
Rio sighed. "Fine..." Everyone looked at her. "I admit I was wrong..."
Haruto smiled. "That's great, Rio-san."
"And I will tend to my injuries, so I make sure that I don't end up like Kaito. Mean and broken."
Haruto laughed, Ryouga facepalmed, and Kaito glared at her. "Shut up."
Rio laughed as well. "I'm joking! Gosh! You don't have to take it seriously!"
Ryouga looked at his little sister. "I'm glad you finally came to your senses Rio."
Rio smiled. "Really, ani? But I forgive you." And so, the siblings hugged.
Both Kaito and Haruto smiled. "Nii-san," Haruto began. "By the way you treated Rio-san, does this mean that you're finally going to get married?"
Before either Rio or Kaito could respond to that, Ryouga reacted first. "WHAT?!"
Kaito narrowed his eyes at his little brother. "Haruto..."
Haruto smirked. "I'm just kidding nii-san...Or am I?"
Rio laughed, Kaito shook his head, and Ryouga glared. "Be quiet kid."
"Marriage aside," Rio started. "We should go somewhere to eat!"
Haruto beamed at her. "Great idea, onee-san!"
Ryouga and Kaito smirked. "What are you talking about?" Kaito asked her. "You're not going anywhere."
Rio whipped her head to looked at him. "What?!"
"I'm sorry, Rio. The doctor said that you have to stay for about 3 hours before they release you," Ryouga explained.
Rio pouted. "But that's not fair! I wanted to go somewhere to eat!"
Kaito frowned. "That's what you get for putting yourself in that situation."
"Okay, okay!" Rio exclaimed. "I've learned my lesson..."
Ryouga sighed and shook his head at his little sister. "And that's why we ordered some pizza."
Both Haruto and Rio looked at him with wide eyes. "Really?!" they both asked. Kaito and Ryouga nodded. Haruto and Rio looked at each other and jumped in the air in happiness. "YAY!"
"Come on. Let's go inside," Kaito stated. And so, the pair of siblings walked inside the hospital going for their pizza order.
After that, Rio got released from the hospital. From there, she realized that injuries must not be hidden. Instead, they should be treated no matter how small or irrelevant they are...
Finally! *collapses* Finished with one of the many stories I have! I'm getting there people! Believe in me! I know, I know. The ending was kind of OCC, but I couldn't help myself. It would help. You what I also forgot? I forgot to tell the inspiration for "Jealousy Of A Sibling"! I have a similar problem with my little sister.
