A/N: Its been a while huh? I felt like adding to this story though since it pretty fun. That and Winter is by far my favorite character in it! I mean... she's so awesome! I was thinking of making this Monochrome with some awesome Yang flirting with Winter in addition to Nuts & Dolts. But we'll see, that'll be later! Enjoy the chapter!

Miltia Malachite

The moment her boots hit the ground, Miltia was already keeping her eyes trained around her. She scanned the bushes and trees for any prey that dared to cross her. As she continued to look around though, she failed to see anything that posed a threat to her. Retracting her long and slender crimson claws back into its bracelet form the dark haired girl brushed her black combat skirt off.

She knew her first priority would be to travel north and onwards towards her objective. What the Professor said had rang true in her mind; she did pay attention, it was just that she really didn't care for it. The mentioning of partners and teams only caused the younger twin to grow irritated. Being paired with another; especially a team, only meant that her core mission would be slowed down. Plus she was never the most sociable person, more so ever since her sister's death. Honestly she wanted nothing to do with anyone else.

Pushing those thoughts aside for now, Miltia once again looked around her surroundings. The dense green forest was overrun with large trees and wild looking bushes. She could spot red fruit growing on many of the vegetation around her but she wasn't feeling keen on touching or tasting any of them. Despite the large amount of growth and dirt around her, Miltia still felt oddly calm here. Although she was raised in the slums of the city along with her sister, she did have an appreciation for nature.

Deciding to start moving, Miltia pushed forward through the dense vegetation and towards the North. She kept her eyes and ears open for anything but heard nothing out of the ordinary. She almost felt something akin to disappointment. She was actually hoping for something… anything to cross her path. After arriving at Beacon now, to say she was a little underwhelmed would be an understatement. Most if not all the hunters and huntresses in training she had seen so far looked weak. Of course she was sure not every single person would be a Yang Xiao-Long, she thought there would be more prospects attending the new year.

Thinking back on the blonde brawler however made the ebon haired girl wonder when she'd see her again. It would only be a matter of time until she would run into her.

'And only a matter of time before I show her how much stronger I've gotten.'

Miltia felt her usual scowl turn into a grin at the thought of her newly discovered semblance. She couldn't wait to test it on another person, and what better person then the almighty Yang? Although she did know she was still new with using it. She still had to practice to master the technique.

The sudden sound of multiple branches snapping off to her left caused the black themed twin to smile even wider. She felt no fear or distress at the sound of incoming danger, no; she felt nothing but excitement at the hearing of an incoming challenge.

Halting in her movements, Miltia stopped walking and slowly faced towards where the sound came from. Now that she stopped moving she could hear the haggard breaths and snorts coming from behind the dense foliage that blocked her vision from seeing what was coming towards her. It sounded like a Grimm already but it obviously wasn't trying to mask its movements from her. This only meant that there were more around that accompanied it.

"The more the merrier." Miltia muttered underneath her breath.

Activating her claws and extending them fully, the lone girl stood amidst the forest, alone but confident and awaited her opponents to come out from hiding. What better way to take out her boiling anger then against the very same monsters who took her precious sister away from her? The same mongrels that had the audacity to think that they could end her life too.

Just thinking back on the memories of how her sister was savagely killed caused Militia to ball her hands into fists. She felt herself shaking with anger and kept her steely green eyes focused ahead of her, waiting. Narrowing her knees and bending at the waist slightly; the girl took a slight combat stance to ready herself for what was to come.

An unexpected rustle from behind though caused her to jump backwards and out of the way for whatever had charged her. Just barely making it out of the way on time, Miltia watched a black form lunge past her before stopping and narrowing its red eyes at her. If she didn't know any better though, she'd think it smiled at her.

Digging her boots into the ground, Miltia gave the creature what she guessed was a Beowolf her own smirk and adopted a combat stance. She knew there were at least two of the monsters and was actually surprised that they could coordinate surprise attacks to that degree, but it wouldn't be enough to stop her. They had just shown her their ace in the hole.

Watching the Beowolf slowly make its way towards her, Miltia prepared herself to deflect its first attack and kept her eyes on the creature's large claws. She knew her weapons could easily parry the large appendages and relaxed herself a bit. Once she spotted the wolf start to pick up speed and run at her is when Miltia figured it was as good a time as any to test out her semblance.

Shutting her eyes and focusing on conjuring up her aura, Miltia felt the surreal feeling of power coarse through her almost instantly. Reopening her eyes just in time to see everything around her in a different view, everything now showed up in a vibrant new look as she felt herself buzzing with energy. But before she could embrace the wonderful feeling of enabling her aura, Miltia spotted the Beowolf's claw aimed right at her face.

But her smile remained.

Raising her left clawed hand up and swiping at the air right in front of her, she hopped backwards right out of range for the attack to hit her and waited.

Right when the Beowolf's claw hit the exact same empty spot she herself just clawed at, she watched the massive beast recoil backwards suddenly and let out a painful howl. She watched as the beast glared at her as it held its injured hand before once again taking another combat stance as if ready to leap at her once more. But rustling to her right this time caused the twin to chuckle lowly and shake her head at the beast in front of her.

"Tsk tsk, I'm not falling for that one again, mongrel." The girl uttered condescendingly.

Before the two Grimm would have the chance to attack her she slashed at the empty open air around herself with not only both of her claws but her bladed boots as well. In an elegant dance of metal and steel, Miltia slashed all around her with her weapons; hitting nothing but keeping her semblance engaged. Making sure to swing at every angle around her though, she felt herself starting to tire physically and mentally as her aura drained considerably from the extensive use of her semblance.

Ceasing her wild swings and kicks, Miltia wiped at the sweat that trickled down her face and took in a deep breath as she admired her handiwork around her. Focusing her eyes to search for the tiny distortions she left suspended in the air, she could barely make out the ripples from her claws and bladed boots. Looking like tiny slashes that hung suspended in the air; it was barely noticeable until it was too late for her enemies to see.

'But I can only engage it for barely a minute.'

Already feeling herself panting, Miltia disengaged her semblance and waited as she glanced towards the now cautious looking Beowolf. She knew the soulless beast wouldn't be able to spot the ripples in the air; hell no one would without her specifically telling them what to look for, but still the monster waited as if pondering what she was doing.

Still attempting to catch her breath while cocooned in her ripples of slashes, Miltia felt her patience wearing thin at the Grimm, but as she was about to taunt the beast she heard something whip through the air and turned just in time the Beowolf's partner that was hiding lunge out from the bushes where it had crept.

With its arm fully extended and aimed at her, Miltia grinned and stood her ground as she watched the Beowolf's ebon furred arm make contact with the ripples in the air that she created and howl painfully. As soon as the beast's arm made contact, crimson blood sprouted from its arm and the mongrel reeled backwards off balance as if not used to being on the defensive so suddenly.

Miltia leapt forward from her position and pressed the attack all while holding her maniacal grin. Pointing her clawed right arm directly at the exposed neck of the Beowolf, Miltia felt her weapon cut into the soft flesh of the beast perfectly. Landing and turning on her heeled boot to face her last opponent though, Miltia heard the sound of a pop before a large explosion sounded which caused her to kneel and shield her eyes from a bright blue light in front of her.

A sudden freezing gust of wind grazed her still sweaty skin and Miltia almost felt herself start to shiver from the frigid blast that she guessed was from whatever exploded right in front of her.

Counting the seconds off, the ebon haired girl unshielded her eyes and prepared for a sudden attack but instead was met with the odd sight of the earlier Beowolf now incased from the waist down in ice that seemingly had sprung up from nowhere. The Grimm itself was clawing desperately at the ice as if trying to free itself before another small metallic pop sounded and this time Miltia caught sight of a small silver cylinder hitting the ground right beside the rooted Grimm before a female voice yelled out from somewhere to the side of her with an order that Miltia heard perfectly.

"Watch out!"

Feeling the adrenaline pumping through her veins, Miltia leapt backwards and jumped away from whatever had been thrown and took cover behind one of the many trees at precisely the exact time another explosion sounded. This time however the girl could feel the heated air rush around her as she stood behind the tree trunk. This time if felt as if an inferno of fire had just exploded near her, but as soon as she felt the heated gust of pressure did it die down.

Peeking around the tree trunk, the girl felt her eyes widen in surprise at the sight. All around where she and the Grimm were fighting was blackened as if a forest fire had just taken place. The earlier ice and Grimm from earlier were nowhere to be seen, instead replaced with the blackened scarred earth.

But across the now deadened earth on the other side of the foliage, Miltia could make out another person who was walking towards her while wearing a friendly smile. Pushing herself out from the cover of the tree, Miltia still kept her claws extended and prepared for an attack but allowed herself to appear calm and collected. She too walked towards the girl and observed her while doing so.

The girl had an odd color of deep purple hair which was tied into a high ponytail along with what appeared to be a one lensed silver goggle over her left eye and her other eye as black as void. She was dressed in what Miltia could only describe as … functional. The girl wore a large tan vest that appeared to be made of Kevlar and consisting of countless pockets with a black sleeveless shirt underneath, black tightfitting cargo pants that also had countless amounts of pockets, tan colored combat boots along with black sleeveless gloves.

Miltia stopped short of reaching the scorched earth and took note of just how massive the explosion was. There was no sign of grass or any other kind of life present in the circular patch now. Where the Grimm bodies were present was now nothing. There were no traces of them or even the ice that sprung out of nowhere from before, but now that Miltia thought about it; the ice had to come from somewhere.

Looking back towards the purple haired stranger again, she watched the girl look around in marvel as if happy about what had just taken place before she too glanced back at Miltia and smiled once more and raising a hand and waving.

"Heya!"

Grace Violette

'Ugh, really Grace?! "Heya"?! She probably thinks I'm some kind of weirdo now!'

Grace kept her hand raised as she continued to smile at the black haired girl but could already feel her smile faltering under the piercing green eyes of the black clad huntress-in-training. She decided to keep going though since after all… they were fated to be partners now.

"Um, my name's Grace!" She introduced herself after the momentary pause between them. But as she stated her name, Grace could already feel herself burn up with nervousness and slight embarrassment.

'I'm doing this right, right? Aren't you supposed to introduce yourself to someone after meeting them for the first time? What's with her?'

A full minute had passed after Grace told the other girl her name, but without warning the black themed girl turned on her bladed heel and walked away from Grace, much to the purplette's alarm. Sighing to herself sadly the girl wondered if everyone at this school was going to be rude to her before looking back up at the retreating form.

"H- Hey! Where are you going?"

Hurrying after the shorter girl, Grace jogged next to her and noted how fast the other was indeed walking with bladed heeled boots through the dense forest without so much as a stumble.

"To my objective." The black haired girl replied back emotionless.

Breathing a sigh of relief though, Grace was thankful that the other girl didn't ignore her this time and continued walking beside her before finding the courage to speak up again.

"So… I didn't catch your nam- oomph!"

Backing away from the hand that suddenly found its way over her lips, Grace gave the girl a confused glance before noting that she was holding her other hand to her lips in the universal sign to be quiet.

Nodding to her that she understood, Grace raised her eyebrow before watching the other girl point through the bushes and right at what appeared to be a clearing with a formation of stands near the edge of it. She could see some kind of objects standing atop of pillars but she wasn't exactly sure what they were.

Grasping the side of her goggle, she clicked the object to zoom in on what she was looking at before tilting her head. It looked to be similar to chess pieces as she took note of a few were already missing from a few of the pedestals.

"Miltia."

The sound of the girl suddenly speaking caused Grace to flinch backwards a bit but she recovered quickly before looking back at the girl and reconfiguring her goggle.

"My name is Miltia" the girl uttered again while giving Grace an annoyed expression. "Since I guess we're now partners you might as well know my name." She finished before standing and looking around the clearing for any danger.

Grace though felt herself start to smile again and extended her hand for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you Miltia! Let's be the best partners we ca- h- hey wait up!"

She watched the girl now known as Miltia dash from behind the bushes and towards one of the chess pieces, leaving her behind.

"Well at least its progress." Grace uttered to herself before following Miltia from behind who now stood at one of the pedestals; eyeing them precariously.

Reaching the girl now, Grace eyed the pieces as well; taking note of a few sets missing. "This has to be what we were sent here to retrieve, right?" She asked, though not expecting Miltia to answer.

She did hear the girl grunt before grabbing the black queen piece and stuffing it into one of her pockets.

"We're done here, let's go."

But as soon as Miltia said the words, Grace heard what sounded like a shrill voice screaming at something at the top of their lungs close by. She instantly feared the worst, but felt herself be pulled away in the direction of the forest's edge, opposite of where the scream had yelled out and took cover behind one of the bushes with Miltia as the girl dropped her grip around her arm.

"What gives?" Grace asked slightly startled as she rubbed her arm from where Miltia had grabbed it rather forcefully.

"There are others nearby." The girl answered back cryptically to which Grace only rolled her eyes.

"So? We're all on the same side." She responded back as she started to stand back up. "We're fighting Grimm, not each other."

But as she went to stand on her feet she felt Miltia pull her back down to the ground and glare at her. Grace could all but swallow nervously under the girl's piercing green eyes and knelt back down next to her.

"Same side or not, it'd benefit us to observe our future… teammates to learn of their capabilities." Miltia hissed back at her before looking back out into the clearing.

Grace only took note of how Miltia seemed to say the word 'teammates'. Almost as if it physically hurt her to say it. She only nodded in response but couldn't help but feel as if it was wrong to do so. To somewhat spy on other students just to see how they performed felt odd to her but she didn't want to argue with her new partner and instead continued to kneel behind the bushes next to Miltia and await whoever was coming out into the clearing.

Winter Schnee

"Gods damn it all; I don't need you of all people following me!"

Winter continued to stomp her way through the forest trying desperately to keep the other girl from catching up to her, but no matter how fast she kept at it, the orange haired girl behind her would match her pace perfectly; and all without even breaking a sweat or even breathing heavily.

"But why, partner?" She heard the other ask with the same kind of ignorant innocence in her voice that she'd been speaking with this whole time.

Winter could only feel herself about to yell once again before spotting a clearing in front of her. Peering through the bushes and into it, she took note of pedestals with objects on top of them. It looked like some kind of ritual or something which only meant one thing to the Schnee girl.

The end of this stupid initiation.

Breaking into a jog, Winter reached the podiums and took note of the different chess pieces and was instantly flooded with memories from her childhood. She and Weiss used to participate in chess matches at the behest of their parents so they could learn the fundamentals of tactics and outplaying your opponents.

Glaring at the pieces now, Winter ground her teeth in frustration.

'Weiss always used to beat me at chess…'

Quickly looking through the pieces, Winter snatched up the white queen piece and stuffed it into one of her dust pouches and felt a smile tug at her lips.

"But I'll be the queen soon enough, big sister." She whispered to herself wickedly.

Turning around and seeing the girl whose name she unfortunately knew now as Penny due to her constantly reminding her earlier, Winter sighed as she spotted Penny jogging to catch up to her. But as she watched the orange haired girl moving towards her, Winter felt the ground start to tremble as if something large and massive was…

"Look out you idiot! Behind you!" Winter yelled as she already activated her aura at the sight of a threat and rushed forward.

She watched the girl turn around at her warning and unsheathe her two swords before jumping out of the way of three large Ursa that charged out of the forest.

Winter watched the beasts continue charging forward before she swung her right arm out in an arc and felt the air around her instantly drop in temperature as a large wall of ice manifested itself in front of her to block the rampaging beasts. No sooner did she create the wall of ice did the three Ursa collide with it, crashing into the wall with such force that Winter stared disbelievingly at the cracks they had already formed through her wall.

Hopping away from it though, Winter prepared herself to run around it to engage the Grimm before hearing the sound of Penny already fighting them. Running around the corner, Winter was met with the sight of Penny plunging one of her glowing blades into the back of one Ursa while deflecting a swipe from another easily and without fear.

'Well at least she's no pushover.'

Winter quickly focused her semblance into her hand and felt the freezing sensation of ice forming at her fingertips. She forced the ice to bend and form itself into the shape of a long and slender sword. Although it had the shape of an icicle, the Schnee girl was adept at using the ice blade as a weapon. It was one of her most complicated techniques; bending the ice to her will and manifesting it into a specific shape or weapon to wield physically.

Gripping the chilling weapon in her right hand, Winter lunged forward gracefully and targeted to Ursa Penny wasn't engaged with and aimed right for the beast's ribcage. Puncturing the fleshy belly of the Grimm with ease, Winter pushed forward with her sword arm to rip through the beast and cause it as much pain as she could before twisting the blade and pulling it out as the Grimm let out a death howl and falling limp onto the ground.

Turning to her left and watching Penny deflect another blow from the last Ursa, Winter pointed her left hand towards the bear looking creature and let loose a blast of ice pointed directly at its feet. As soon as the blast made contact with the Grimm, the Ursa struggled to move forward to attack Penny once more but lost its balance at having its hind legs frozen to the ground.

Before it could even attempt to try to get out of the trap however, Penny took the creature's disadvantage and elegantly jumped forward and swiped the beast's head clean off and re-sheathed both her blades just as the lifeless body hit the ground and smiled.

"I must say, we make a great team!" Penny beamed as she glanced towards Winter.

Winter on the other hand rolled her eyes before patting the chess piece and making sure it was still in her possession before whirling on the other girl.

"We would never even have been in that predicament if it wasn't for you!" Winter yelled towards Penny as she fixed her bangs to sit in front of her eye just the way she liked.

Penny tilted her head though and tapped her chin as she looked deep in thought. "But you're the one who was screaming in the forest. Grimm pick up on negative emotions rather easily and target them." The orange haired girl stated before glancing towards Winter with her smile still ever present. "So technically speaking it was your fault."

Upon hearing that though Winter felt herself almost choke as she pointed her ice sword towards the girl who had the audacity to claim that she; a Schnee, was responsible!

"H- How dare you, you commoner!" Winter hissed. "If you weren't following me around like some kind of homeless cretin in the first place, none of this would have happened!"

Just as Winter was about to continue delivering some much needed discipline to Penny however, a growing shadow that was rushing towards her on the ground caused the rich girl to turn her eyes upwards and fall into silence at the sight that was heading right towards them.

"Oh shi-"

Just as soon as she laid her eyes on the flying monstrosity that was swooping down towards them, Winter sluggishly raised her hands up to create another ice barrier but already felt her aura drained from her earlier battle; using much of it on the first ice wall and then the crafting of her ice weapon.

Silently cursing herself for being so reckless with her aura and semblance, Winter prepared her sword to try to deflect what she now realized was a Nevermore swooping down towards her and Penny.

But just as the first nervous chill ran down her spine in fear, Winter felt another chill blast her in the face as well as the sound of an explosion which caused her to shield her eyes at the blast right in front of her…

Grace Violette

"Right on time!" Grace shouted over the explosion of her ice grenade which she threw right towards the white haired girl. She watched the sudden blast of ice ward the Nevermore away from her as the large flying Grimm veered left and back up into the air.

"What the hell was that?" Grace heard Miltia ask next to her as she rubbed her eyes painfully.

Grace smiled before replying though. "My precious dust grenades! I have a variety of dust infused canisters that act as grenades depending on which I use." Grace explained quickly as she already was grabbing another one of her canisters, this one marked red for fire dust.

She heard Miltia grumble something before getting to her feet. "So much for hiding, but that explains what those blasts were from earlier."

Grace only smiled at her as she rushed out of the bushes where they were hiding and into the field where the other two girls stood and looked at her.

Grace's smile evaporated quickly at the sight of the white haired girl as she now too late realized that it was the same one who had yelled at her earlier. But surely saving her would mean that she'd be nicer now, right?

"How dare you throw things at me!"

Nope…

Grace only rubbed the back of her head nervously as she looked at the ground at the hearing of the white themed girl yelling and could only mutter a small "Sorry."

"She did save us though, so I think you should be thankful!"

The new voice caused Grace to look up at the other girl and smile. She then realized that it was the same orange haired girl she had spotted right before the ceremony's speech whom she wanted to say hi to.

She watched the orange haired girl smile at her before bowing her head slightly. "Thank you!"

Grace fumbled with her hands before bowing her head as well and stuttering. "I- It w- was nothing." Before feeling her cheeks burn form the earlier praise.

"My name's Penny by the way, what's yours?"

Grace looked back up towards the girl and smirked. "I'm Grace!" Grace looked back towards the bushes where she saw Miltia slowly making her way towards them with her claws still extended and pointed towards the black themed girl. "And that's my partner Miltia."

She watched Penny smile even brighter before suddenly unsheathing her blades and adopting a serious look. "Look out, he's coming back around!"

Grace turned her head around and saw the Nevermore indeed flying right back towards them as it squawked loudly. The sound was rough and otherworldly which almost caused the purple haired girl to cover her ears. Instead she zoomed in on the creature's soaring body with her goggle and calculated the distance from where she stood to where it was flying.

As she prepared to throw another grenade at the creature though, she wasn't sure if it'd even injure it or merely provoke it. As the girl prepared to think of a plan however, she heard Penny's voice sound out with something that caused her to smile.

"I've got an idea!"

Penny

'It should work given our combined techniques.'

"I've got a plan!" Penny shouted as she sheathed one of her blades behind her back and looked up at Grace.

She looked at the girl's object she held in her hand and could tell it was similar to what she had thrown earlier that deflected the Grimm from them; except this time it was marked red instead of blue. Penny figured it meant fire this time instead of ice.

Mid ranged fighter.

Quickly turning towards Winter who still stood off to her side, oddly quiet, Penny could tell the girl was trying to focus and conjure up her lost aura from earlier.

Close to long ranged fighter.

Turning her eyes towards the last person who was now standing near them clad in black, the orange haired huntress-in-training took note of the gleaming crimson claws on the girl's hands which only meant one thing…

Close ranged fighter.

Penny herself was comfortable in every range of fighting, but she knew she had to keep her guise up and appear as if she were a normal human girl. It severely handicapped her since she wouldn't be able to use most of her combat functions, but she was still a force to be reckoned with. She'd choose to be a short to mid ranged fighter as of right now and formulated the plan in her mind to deal with the Nevermore.

But she'd need the cooperation of the other girls to pull it off.

"Grace." Penny said, earning her the attention of the purple haired girl. "Those grenades of yours are infused with dust, correct?" Penny then asked.

She watched the girl nod her head with a slightly confused expression on her face. "H- How did you k-"

Penny interrupted her though; they were running out of time. "I could tell, I'll explain later. But do you have a lightning one?"

She watched the girl dig into one of her pockets before pulling out a yellow marked canister and nod her head. "Yeah I do."

Penny looked up at the Grimm once more and noted how close it was getting before she started hastily explaining her plan now. Ordinarily she'd fire her beam cannon at the Grimm from all of her blades but she knew that would be a dead giveaway of her true origins. But working together with these other girls would mean that they could form some kind of bond… Like friends!

The thought caused her to smile to herself as she began to explain the plan.

"Okay, when that Nevermore gets close I want you to chuck that grenade as close as possible towards one of its wings, it doesn't matter which but it has to hit one. It will cause the beast to stumble a bit and not be able to fly properly for a few seconds. That's when…" Penny turned her gaze towards Winter then. "… That's when I need you to use your semblance and hit it with just enough ice to incase a portion of its body, enough to cause it to plummet to the ground."

Penny watched Winter sigh before nodding her head. "Of course I can do that."

Penny nodded back to the girl and turned her gaze to look at Miltia. "As soon as it's falling to the ground, do you think you can jump forward and disable it from breaking free from the ice and severing one of its wings with your claws?" She asked towards the quiet girl to which she nodded her head while grinding both her claws together.

"And right when we've disabled the Nevermore and it's on the ground is when I'll deliver the finishing strike with my blade." Penny finished to which she held her single blade in a two handed grip and eyed the beast as she prepared herself.

She knew this plan needed everyone to do their part perfectly. If Grace missed with her electric grenade; the beast would be unhindered in its flying and Winter wouldn't be able to aim her ice attack properly which would leave her and Miltia's part out of the equation.

"Why do you deliver the finishing blow? I can do that." Winter complained as she glared towards her.

Penny smiled back towards her while giving her a playful wink. "Because I believe I'm physically the strongest out of all of us."

She heard Winter snort but the girl said nothing more. Penny watched the encroaching form of the Nevermore glide towards them at terrifying speed before a small silver object soared towards the flying Grimm…

"There!"

A bright explosion filled the air around the beast as yellow lightning bolts burst every which way around it. Penny had no need to shield her eyes from the blast but saw her other teammates did, but luckily noticed that Winter recovered quickly.

The beast was squawking in anger and in confusion as it tried to orient itself from the lightning blast. Before it could correct its flight though, a sudden blast of ice encased itself around the massive bird's body and pulled the beast towards the earth.

As the nevermore struggled against the ice that now surrounded its body, the beast collided with the ground in a loud and thunderous sound as it hit the dirt. No sooner did the beast hit the ground though did Penny already see it breaking free of the ice prison Winter had encased it in.

But a lone black dressed figure surged forward as Miltia sprinted towards the still thrashing beast.

Penny herself ran forward behind Miltia a couple feet behind and had the utmost confident in the girl's part. She watched Miltia dodge the Nevermore's beak that was aimed at her and cut through the bird's left wing with an agile precision that Penny had never seen. Miltia dug both her claws into the Grimm's wing and continued running while slicing it; disabling it from flying.

She took note of how Miltia wasn't able to cut the entire wing off due to the Nevermore's thick skin but she cut into it well enough to keep it from flying. This was where she came in now.

Penny rushed towards the howling Nevermore and jumped onto the Grimm's white masked beak before lifting her glowing sword above her head in a two handed grip and doing a double front flip and using the momentum of her now falling and plunging the weapon directly into the white material above the creature's skull with inhuman force. She felt her weapon dig itself into the creature's brain as the Nevermore gave one final howl before collapsing onto the ground, dead.

Feeling something akin to pride well up in her, Penny pulled her sword out of the dead Grimm before looking back towards her teammates with the biggest smile she could muster and raising her arms up above her.

"We make an awesome team!"

A/N: When Miltia engages her aura she is able to leave ripples from her claws and blades suspended in the air. These ripples when touched inflict the same amount of pain as if she had hit you directly with her weapons.
