I'M ALIVE! That's right. Im alive everypony. Sorry to keep you waiting for the better part of a couple of months. I have had so much to do over the past two months it's not even funny. Near the end of November I had to study for midterms. That lasted about two weeks until I went home for the holidays. When I did that, I was greeted with getting my wisdom teeth removed, thus rendering me unable to do much of anything for the better part of two weeks. Then once Christmas hit, I was so busy catching up with friends from highschool that I didn't have time/I was lazy, to write. But I have returned and hopefully will be pumping chapters out once every two-three weeks for my stories. I am almost done with Homonis, then after that, I have another story planned. It will be good, so I hope you all will enjoy it. Anyways, enjoy the new chapter and remember to leave comments. I love comments! And as per usual, be safe and make smart choices. -Asianpon3-
Chapter 4
"Luna, this is your sister?" I asked a little surprisingly, only to be drowned out by an overly ecstatic Luna embracing the other equine.
"Sister, it has been too long. We thought thou wouldst remain in Canterlot to oversee our royal duties," the Luna questioned, slipping back into her olden tongue briefly. Celestia's response was that of a light giggle, before releasing Luna from the embrace.
"Do not worry Luna. My star student is handling everything with the utmost diligence and care. There is no need to worry. Besides, this will be very good experience for when Twilight one day rules over her own kingdom or even ours."
"We see. If it is as you say then we are sure there is no need for worry," Luna said, smiling warmly at her sister.
A few seconds later, the sounds of terrible coughing and a small thud was all that was needed to gain Luna's attention. The surprise reunion with her sister shifted Luna's attention for a few minutes, but the mare soon realized that I was still in a dangerous position. Lying on the ground a few feet away was my motionless body, having reverted back into its original state with no armor adorning my person. The most chilling sight for Luna though, was the small pool of blood near the upper part of my body along with a small trail of blood leaving my mouth, indicating that I may have sustained internal bleeding.
With Luna's attention refocused on me, the mare quickly scanned my body with her magic, trying to pinpoint the exact part of my body that was bleeding internally. Celestia soon realized the gravity of the situation as well, causing her to walk over next to my body and begin a scan herself. About twenty seconds had passed before both of the mares found the source of the bleeding.
"Luna, we need to stop the bleeding to prevent any further complications with his body," Celestia stated, Luna nodding her head in agreement.
"Sister, please heal his external injuries near his abdomen. We shall focus on his internal injuries," Luna said. Without uttering another word, both of the mare's horns resonated with a small light before the injuries to my body slowly began to heal.
A few minutes had passed by before Luna and Celestia pulled their horns away from my body, accompanied with a sigh of relief.
"He should be fine Luna. All he needs now is some rest," Celestia said, rising from the ground and walking over next to Leo, nuzzling him affectionately. Luna noticed this out of the corner of her eye and made a mental reminder to herself to ask Celestia of this later. Right now though, the utmost priority of Luna was to teleport me back to my house for some well-needed rest. Looking back towards Celestia and Leo, Luna soon noticed that she was now alone. Smiling lightly to herself, Luna looked back towards my unconscious body before her horn started to resonate with more magic and we were both teleported away.
A blinding flash of light engulfed my roof for a mere moment. The scenery of the room for the most part had not changed. The only difference was that Luna and myself were now positioned in the middle of the room, my body lying on the bland, brown carpet while Luna was knelt next to me. Using her magic, my body was engulfed in the blue substance before Luna levitated me into bed, pulling back the covers in the process. Gently placing me down, Luna again used her magic to remove my somewhat bloodied shirt and jeans, before sliding a pair of gym shorts onto my person. Placing the dirty clothes in the bathroom, Luna returned to the room before nestling onto her side of the bed. Turning off the light with her magic, Luna turned over before wrapping her hooves around me and pulling the covers over us.
The thoughts of the day ran freshly through the mare's mind, focusing primarily on what transpired with the two demons. Playing the scene over many times in her head, Luna nuzzled into the nape of my neck and pulled me closer, all the while a few tears ran down her soft face as she realized how close she was to losing someone who, despite what she would outwardly admit, knew she loved.
Three days had passed since the incident with the demon duo. During this time, I had been completely bedridden and unconscious. The toll from fighting the demon was more than Luna had expected, which caused her to worry even more about me. When I finally came too, I was bombarded with a killer hug from a profusely crying mare that refused to let go of me for the better part of two hours. If you were to add in that my entire body was still sore, it was a very long two hours.
After I managed to calm Luna down, which took a great amount of convincing; I got up from the bed and walked into the bathroom. After relieving myself, I turned on the shower before brushing my teeth as I waited for the water to warm. A minute or so passed before the water warmed to just the right temperature and I stepped in. As soon as the warm water hit my body, I instantly felt my muscles begin to relax. It was an amazing feeling; to have my entire body relax as the warm water cascaded down onto me. It was made even better as I began to scrub off all of the dirt and grime that had accumulated on my body for the last three days.
After turning off the water, I stood in the warm vapors that filled the bathroom, all the while thinking about the incident with the two demons. Deciding not to dwell any further on the matter, I exited the shower and promptly dried myself off before changing into a new set of clothes. After styling my hair in front of a partially foggy mirror, I opened my bathroom door and walked back into my bedroom.
Looking towards Luna, I was met with the sight of the mare lying idly on my bed, staring at me with a gentle smile before making her way off of the bed.
"How do you feel?" Luna asked in a soft voice. Though her voice was soft, I could tell she was still really concerned.
"I'm doing fine Luna. I am sore all over, but it is manageable," I responded, Luna letting out a small sigh of relief.
"We are very glad that you are well," Luna said with a sincere smile adorning her face. I responded in kind before an abrupt noise resonated throughout my room, catching both Luna and myself off guard.
After a moment or two of silence, my face became a light shade of red as I realized my stomach let out one of the loudest groans of hunger I had ever heard. Looking towards Luna, I was graced with the pleasant sight of the mare giggling lightly at what had just happened.
"It would seem that our champion requires food." Luna playfully stated, causing me to let out a little chuckle.
"I think you may be right. Though you can hardly blame me. Not eating for three days will do that to anyone," I said, followed by another giggle from the adorable mare.
"Then let us depart from here. We are certain you are feeling a little cooped up in your room, and the fresh air should do us both nicely," Luna suggested. To answer Luna's suggestion, my stomach let out another loud groan of hunger.
"I think you know my answer," I sarcastically added, Luna rolling her eyes in her playful sort of way.
A half an hour had passed since we had left the house, and even though my muscles were sore, it was enjoyable to be able to breathe some fresh air. During the walk towards the local mid-sized shopping area, I couldn't help but notice Luna walking more closely to me than she usually did. I didn't pay it much attention at first, until she started to reach for my hand with hers. It was then I knew what she was trying to do, resulting in an internal smile before I allowed her to take my hand fully in hers, our fingers interlocking as we continued down the sidewalk.
Immediately after, I noticed a change in attitude with Luna. Before, Luna was somewhat hesitant in her posture as we walked. I didn't know why at first, but soon understood. Afterwards, Luna was more relaxed, a smile adorning her regal face, with what I believed to be a hint of a light blush.
We continued to walk for another ten minutes or so before arriving at a small café located in the shopping area. Walking up to the counter to order, I began to look over the menu before my mouth started salivating. My stomach was hurting because of how hungry I was, and I felt like I could eat everything in the entire store. The only problem was, I wouldn't have enough money to pay for it all. So instead I settled for three turkey sandwiches, a large creamy potato soup, and a fresh garden salad for Luna.
After receiving our food, the two of us picked a booth next to the window that overlooked the shopping plaza. It was a very peaceful sight, watching as people enjoyed themselves shopping. Every one in a while though, you could catch sight of some poor boyfriend or husband who had been dragged out of the house to go shopping. Luna and I shared a little laugh as we pointed it out to one another.
With Luna finished with her salad, and now indulging in some warm tea, I began to work on the last of my food, which was the large creamy potato soup. Taking large spoonfuls, the soup warmed my body and taste buds as it entered my mouth. For all of the dishes the café offered, this was by far my favorite.
I was now about half way done with my salad, before a familiar voice caught my ear.
"Well isn't this adorable. Little Luna is on a date," Celestia's teased, causing Luna to blush a deep red. Looking up from my soup, I saw that Celestia was standing next to the table, obviously in her human form though. I had to admit it to myself; Celestia did look good in her human form. Her blonde hair that had been dye several different colors in certain parts, accompanied with a similar physique that Luna had, minus a slightly larger chest area, made Celestia almost as attractive as Luna.
Coming out from behind Celestia, while also carrying several shopping bags, was an exhausted looking Leo.
"Tia, I know you like shopping, but can we please go back to the hotel now?" Leo almost begged. Celestia turned back towards Leo and gave him the saddest puppy dog eyes she could muster.
"But... Leo, there are so many other stores here I haven't had the chance to visit. I might not ever get the chance to come here again," Celestia said. Looking towards Leo I knew it was a losing battle. As much as he tried to fight it, he had no chance of winning against something like that.
Sighing in defeat, Leo nodded his head in understanding.
"Fine, you win," the defeated teen said, receiving a hug and quick peck on the lips from Celestia, which caught both Luna and myself off guard.
"Alright Leo, you stay here and take a rest. I will get us some lunch," Celestia cheerfully said, quickly jumping in line. Looking at Leo, I could now see how truly exhausted he looked.
"She seems like a handful," I commented, Leo laughing as he placed the bags he was carrying at the side of the booth and took a seat on the opposite side of the table from Luna and me.
"She is, but it is worth it in the end. The job of us champions is to protect and serve those we form a contract with after all," Leo replied, receiving a nod from Luna and myself.
"I see. So does that mean I have to do everything that Luna says?" I asked, Luna nudging me with her side as we all let out a little laugh.
"We would not ask for you to do everything that we say, just most of it," the mare retorted. It was now my turn to nudge Luna a little as we all shared another laugh.
"So Leo. Please do not be offended if we were to inquire about the situation entailing my sister and thyself," Luna asked, Leo showing a hint of confusion in the wording Luna used.
"I think she means, what's the deal between you and Celestia," I simplified.
"Oh right, that," Leo said, about to continue before someone else beat him to it.
"We are lovers little sister," Celestia chimed in from behind Luna, causing the mare to be taken aback, a very large blush adorning the mare's face as Celestia sat down with a tray of food for the Leo and herself.
"What, what do you mean sister? Lovers?" Luna shockingly asked. She was met with a little giggle from her older sister.
"Is it so hard to believe that I have fallen for a human Luna? Besides, I think you know what I'm talking about," Celestia teasingly joked. Looking towards Luna, I could see another large blush adorning the mare's face as she stared down at the table.
"Um, I'm not meaning to be so straight forward or rude about this, but do you think it is really a good idea? I mean, you are an eternal being from what Luna has told me. So what happens when Leo grows old and dies?" I asked. Both Leo and Celestia looked at me with confusion before laughing a little at my comment. Luna on the other hand, was frozen with fear at the mention of this comment.
"I'm not going to grow old and die. Ever since I made the contract with Celestia, I age just like she does," Leo responded, watching as the spoon that was held in my hand dropped lifelessly to the table.
"What... what did you just say?" I asked, my posture now frozen in place as I waited for Leo to repeat himself.
"Oh, I said that we can't die from old age. This is to help insure that the contractor and the champion remain with each other. Didn't Luna tell you?" Leo questioned, my head lowering slightly as I stared towards the table.
The tension throughout the air was thick. Leo knew something was amiss, and figured it had something to do with what he had just relayed to me. Silence continued to fill the table for a good minute or so; only the sounds of other people quietly chatting could be heard.
"How could you?" I quietly but angrily asked. Luna was at a loss for words. She had expected me to find out, but later on when she deemed the time would be right to tell me.
"How could you?" I replied again, this time more loudly as I stared at Luna.
Luna slowly lifted her head to look me in eyes. What she saw both saddened and crushed her. There were many emotions I was feeling at this moment of time, though my eyes portrayed the three strongest. Luna could see anger, sadness, and confusion dwelling within. She knew she had hurt me, but no words could escape from the mare's mouth. Without any warning, I jumped up from the table and sprinted out of the café, all the while I had Luna calling after me.
In most cases I would have stopped and listened to the calls of the mare, but I couldn't bring myself to do such a thing. My emotions were in control of me, and what they wanted most was to get as far away from Luna as possible. With my body in compliance, that is exactly what I did.
I had no particular destination in mind, but there was only one thought that coursed through my head at the time.
Why did you betray me?
