I am so sorry for this huge gap! I hate when authors do that and I've found that I have. I am truly ashamed. But I am back! I shall refresh your memory so that you don't have to re-read (and also so you don't give up). Ok sooooo
Alexandra Chattington has moved from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts. She is in 5th year. On the train she met John Watson and Sherlock Holmes, also in 5th year. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, Sherlock's house. (John is in Gryffindor). She has been meeting up with a Slytherin boy named James Moriarty. She is really into him but it turns out that Sherlock hates him. Up to this point Sherlock has shown no interest in Alex whatsoever until her finds out about Alex and James. He then calls her his friend and requests that she stays away from James. And then...well thats what is coming up here!
Fuming, Alex made her way up to the library. She could hide easily there and bury her frustrations in a book. She found a cosy spot by the window and picked up the nearest book at random. She opened it and buried her nose into it.
"Hey gorgeous," murmured a voice in her ear. Alex nearly screamed as she jumped and dropped the book. She looked up and saw the beautiful face of James looking down at her.
"Oh, hey," she said, relaxing.
"I thought we were going to meet after lunch but I guess you just couldn't wait to see me," he said with a chuckle.
Alex rolled her eyes. "Har har," she said sarcastically. "Actually I came here to hide from Sherlock."
Something flickered across James' face. "Oh, him. Is he upset that you're friends with me?" he said bitterly. He moved back and leaned against the opposite bookcase. He looked so handsome leaning there, his head looking down as his hair fell into his eyes.
Alex was so busy staring at James that she forgot to answer him. When he looked up at her questioningly she realised he asked her a question.
"Actually yes...what's up with that?"
James looked a little shifty as he said "I don't know." but she let it slide.
"Anyway," she continued, "it doesn't matter. Because I'm going to be friends with you no matter what he says." She stood up and put the book away. Behind her back James straightened up and said "Friends?"
Alex's breath caught in her throat, but she didn't turn around. "I-I don't know." She made her way towards the exit of the library, knowing that he would follow.
"I think we both want more than that," he said seductively, in a voice intended for only her ears.
She shrugged at the door of the library. "You know, whatever," she said nonchalantly. She opened the doors and exited, James right behind her.
Outside the library in the deserted corridor he pushed her up against the wall, not roughly. "I want you."
Alex closed her eyes as he leaned in. His lips pressed against hers and her heart thudded. She put her hands on his waist as he pulled her head off the wall, sliding his fingers through her hair. His tongue run across her bottom lip and she opened it slightly, invitingly. Their bodies pressed together as their lips moved together.
Alex heard a slight sound of surprise, a pause, and then a cough. She started blushing before she gently pushed James off her. She turned around to see who had caught them, and her heart sunk.
It was Sherlock. Still in his dressing gown. And behind Sherlock was John, who was blushing furiously, his face nearly as red as Alex's.
"Well John your efforts to make me apologise to her were wasted," said Sherlock, turning to John, completely unscathed. He tightened his dressing gown cord and turned to Alex and James. James stood there looking sheepish but slightly pleased with himself. Sherlock forced himself not to hit him and instead said "Sorry to disturb." He walked back around the corner from which he and John arrived. John stood there, his mouth hanging open. After a long pause, he said "Sherlock told me what he said to you about Moriarty, and I thought he probably didn't say it in a very nice way. I told him to go apologise and he knew you'd be in the library but..." he stopped again. He looked at James pointedly.
"Oh sorry, I'll leave you two to chat," said James. He turned to Alex and kissed her on the cheek. "I'll see you after lunch as planned." And with that he strode away, down the opposite corner Sherlock had left. Awkwardly, Alex walked towards John.
"Listen Alex, I know you haven't known us for very long but I think it's safe to say that we are friends. But I warn you, Sherlock really does not like Moriarty. And I'm warning you as a friend, Moriarty is no good. You don't know what he is capable of. He is dangerous and evil...I don't want to preach. But I'm saying this because I like you and I want us to stay friends – please stop seeing him. Not just for Sherlock's sake but for your own."
Alex didn't know what to say. John gave her a little awkward pat on the shoulder. "We have class in a few minutes..."
Alex nodded. "Sure, um, I'll be right behind you." John hesitated, but then smiled and left.
When the sound of footsteps faded, Alex hung her head in her hands. She stood there for a couple of seconds, took a deep breath and then lifted her head up out of her hands.
And she whispered "Shit."
