Chapter 4: The Other Side Of My Heart

The girl that I was surprised to see right in front of me, was none other than Cream The Rabbit. She was drenched in the rain, coating her from head to toe. She was tugging at my shorts pocket. Slightly shivering, she spoke. "Hey Shadow, my mom can drive you to your apartment if you want." She said, pointing at Vanilla's silver van. I kneeled down to her eye level. Which wasn't that far. She had grown over the years like Tails. They were getting up to eye level with the rest of us. Holding my umbrella over her head, I nodded in agreement.
"Sure but don't you think you should have an umbrella or at least a little bit more clothing on?" I asked as I handed her my umbrella. She took the tool from my hand and tired to hold it over both of us. "No Cream, that is for you. I'm okay." I said as I was drenched in seconds. Getting to my feet, we began walking over to her moms van.
"I couldn't grab anything, considering we just left the park. We had barley left when it started to rain." She said, quickening her pace. I had forgotten that we left everyone at the park. Rouge would probably be mad that I left her at the park. Considering I had invited her to join us. I hope she wasn't too mad. I hate when she's made at me. She is the only person that I know of, that has connections to get me my favorite cookies. It might not sound like much, but triple dipped fudge coconut cookies are hard to find in this city. "Hey Shadow we have a couple of people in the van as well. So you may have to share a seat with someone. If that is okay?" She hollered through the rain.
"That's fine Cream. But we have to get you out the rain before you get sick." I said, picking her up and dashing to the vehicle. The rain began to fall even harder as I opened the vans side door. Cream retracted the umbrella and hoped into the passenger seat. I got into the van and was met with the gaze of three people in the back. There was Sally in the first row by herself and Silver and Blaze in the back. I sat down in the empty seat next to Sally. She smiled and raised a brow at me as I looked at her.
"Oh my gosh it's Shadow the Hedgehog. I could've sworn that you disappeared off the face of the earth. You considering you didn't comeback that is." She said, facing me a little more than she already had. I tried to speak, but she cut me off. "But you did go after Amy when no one else did. So I guess we all can forgive you. That's the second time I was able to see the the sweet side of Shadow The Hedgehog." She smiled. It was one of those warm-your-heart smile. Seems like only two girls can cause me to feel this way. Wait, did she say this was the second time? I hope she dosen't try to bring up that again. I will be the pool party all over again.
"Sally before you try and tell the story, may I ask you not to bring up 'that' situation infront of our peanut gallery, please?" I asked, pointing to the seat behind us. She looked past me. She looked at both Silver and Blaze. With one quick she looked at me, then to the floor board. Her cheeks sparked a fire. Glowing as red as the streaks in my quills.
"Sorry I almost did it again, huh?" She said through the blush.
"Yeah but I stopped you before you did. That is our secret and our secret only. Well us and the fifteen people that heard you at the mall." I said. Sally looked up at me and smiled. The blush had started to slowly vanish. I could tell that she still regrets the day she talked about us in public. I wasn't someone that took pleasure in seeing my friends dow. Well, not anymore. Her gaze changed from me to the two lovers in the very back again. This time I did the same as her. What we came face to face with. Was a smirking Silver and a Giggling Blaze.
"Wow that has to be either two things. Either sex. Or accidental sex." Silver said through his smirk. I looked at Sally. She looked at me. And then we both looked at the ground. I could feel my cheeks begin to burn. Through the corner of my eye I could see Sally blushing again. It wasn't that simple. What had happen between me and Sally. Not only got us closer to each other. It also caused us to be a little akward around one another. I guess that could've been the time that Sally began to keep an eye on me. I do'n't know. I hardley get girls now a days. "Silver stop that." Blaze said, smacking him in the arm. "If these two want to have sex. They can. They're grown enough to do so. Don't be embarssed by dum-dum here. I think it's cute that you to are a couple." She said with a smile.
"WE ARE NOT A COUPLE!" Me and Sally both stated. This only caused us to blush even more. Blaze just giggled and leaned back in her seat. I hate to have the spotlight turned on me. Espcially when it comes to something like this. The constant teasing and questions went on for at least twenty minutes before the two passed out from the lack of answers. Vanilla had decided to take Silver and Blaze home first. Considering they lived five miles out from the city. They had always taken a metro to and from the house. But they had missed the last train and asked Vanilla for a ride. Being the kind hearted person she was. She agreed to give them a ride.
"Shadow" I heard a whisper say. I looked back, expecting to see Blaze calling me. To my suprise she was still asleep. Silver too. He had is head back on the head rest, snoring up a storm and drooling quite a bit. Blaze was laying on his chest. Cuddling his chest fur. She had her legs kicked up on the seat. The two looked at peace. "Shadow!" I heard the whisper say again, followed by a small poke to my left side. I jumped at looked at the poker. It was Sally. She was sitting on her knees looking right at me. I felt like an idiot for missing the cute girl sitting next to me. Her blue eyes fixed on my ruby ones. She kicked her feet out from under her and sat down like normal.
"Yes princess?" I asked. She smack her lips a bit, smacking my arm.
"Be nice. You know I don't like being called that by you. You like to make it seem like I just demand you to listen to me. Now shut up and come here." I raised a brow. She noticed this. "That dosen't count okay?" I just smiled and shrugged. I leaned in close to her. She had her phone out. It was open to her message list. "There was something I was suppose to show you. It's from Rouge." Oh great! There gose the cookies for this week. Sally opened up the message. It expanded on the sceen and read.
"Tell Mr. Shadow that leaving us at the park while he decided to go and have some lunch with Amy, was not cool and totally fucked up considering he invted us to the park. I had cancelled and hair appointment for his ass. But I will some what forgive him. Only because he cheered up the little bubblegum hedgy. So I won't kill him this time. But his cookie privalges are revoked for these next two weeks. Srry Shadow :D" I sighed.
"Great there goses the snacks for me. Now what am I going to snack on?" I groaned.
"Cookies? If that's all it took to have you do whatever I like. I could've gotten those cookies for you." She said, closing the message. "I can order them though the internet. Any cookie shop probably orders them. How about i order them. And let's say I get one favor. Deal?" She said extending out her hand.
"You sure you can get the BlueBird Trippled Dipped Fudge Cookies?" I said about to give her my hand.
"I'm sure I can find the exact kind you're looking for." She giggled. "Now do we have a deal or what?"
"Fine but until they cookies come in, your favor is put on hold. Go it?" She nodded, taking my hand in hers. A slight blush ran over her cheeks yet again. I had a feeling I knew exactly what she was thinking about. "Anything but that. Nothing like that involves anything like that."
"I was thinking about that. But now that you bring it up. That could fun. Besides you already shook my hand. So I can do have you do anything I want you to do." She said with a smirk. "You won't know what it want till the cookies are hear remember? So just be a good like Shadow and wait for your two treats."
"Ooooo!"" The back row muttered. Causing both me and Sally to turn to them.
"SHUT UP!" We said in unison.
"You kids are always trying to hide the obvious things. If it wasn't for Cream sitting in the car. I bet I could've guessed everything you two have done with each other." Vanilla said, looking through the rearview mirror.
"MOM!" Cream shout from the passenger seat.
"Go Vanilla!" Blaze shouted through her slumber.
"I'm sorry Cream but through experience I tell can that these two have done something. I know these things. How do you think you got here Cream?" Vanilla asked her daughter. Cream placed her hands over her face as she shook her head.
"Mom please do not put that image in my head. The last thing I need, is to learn how I was conceved. Mom please just stop talking about this." Cream muffled through her hands.
"Okay okay. Let's change the subject. Shadow what have you been up to?" Vanilla asked me. Well now that I think about it, I haven't done anything in particular. No pun intended.
"Well I have just been working at G.U.N. My missions have been brief and boring. Between hanging out with Rouge and Work I have little time to myself. Other than that, I haven't done anything else really intresting." Vanilla looked at the mirror again.
"Nothing intresting huh? Well Sally looks more intresting that you give her credit for. I say you have at least done something with her own fun." Vanilla said. I felt my face bure again. I have blushed more in this car ride then I have in my entire life! What was with Vanilla all of a sudden. She has never been like this before. Is it because Cream has grown up to decent age to talk about this? I need to watch what I say around her.
"MOM!" Cream yelled as she picked her head up.
"Whooo Vanilla!" Silver shouted. He was still laying in the same spot he was fell asleep in. I picked up the nearest object, a small metal coffee cup, and chunked it over the seat. The mug flew and landed on Silvers little friend in the basement. He sprung up and looked at me with anger. "Dude you are an ass." He mouthed.
"I almost felt the venom in those slient words. Next time the gallery should just stay quiet." I said, sitting back in my seat.
"What about Blaze?" Silver aksed.
"Nothing is going on with Blaze. And unless you guys wanna lose apart of yourselves, you'll keep it that way." She said, yanking on Silvers fur. He hissed in pain and nodded his head. She must have felt him nod because she eventually let him go.
"What a loving couple you two are." I said, smirking.
"Yeah just like you and princess favor over there." Blaze said. Sally leaned over the seat and smack the purple cat right in on her leg. The smack echoed through the car. Blaze opened her left eye and looked at Sally. "Meh, too tired. I'll get you back tomarrow princess." Sally sat down with a huff. She looked out the window. She didn't move a muscle. She was upset. I know because she would always give me that same treatment when I would take it too far. I had to make her feel better. Digging in y pocket, I pulled out my black and red phone.
Shadow: You don't have to throw a fit just so I notice you :).
Sallys phone chimmed that it got the message. She looked down at the message. "Really?" She asked, looking at me. I just gave a playful shrug. She shook her at me. She typed out a message and looked out the window again. This time my phone was the one to go off. I looked at the messgae.
Princess: Throw a fit for you? Please, a simple hello from me grabs your attention :P.
I chuckled at her message. She was one of the only girls I could be around for more than ten minutes at a time. Sally for a while now has been someone I will try everything to hold close to me.
Shadow: Yeah maybe you can. But that gose both ways princess. xP Princess: Soo..
Shadow: Hahaa. I didn't say that either of those facts were bad ;)
Princess Shadow you are such dork lol :D Shadow: Only to you my Princess!
Shadow: Just don't tell anyone I admited that to you, got it?
Princess: Lol yes Shadow, I won't tell anyone. I love how you won't anyone know you are really such a sweetheart. But I guess I should feel special that you only show me that side.
Yeah you and Amy. I sighed. Two amazing girls in my life and I could goof it up ant any point in time. I really did like Sally. But a part of me has had a thing for Amy. If I was told to choose one of them, I don't think I could if I tried. Sally has always been that girl that has always been there for me and never wanted something in return like Rouge. And Amy was the first person to see the good in me. She has been like a far away lover. Urrgh! I don't what I'm going to do! I have to see who I connect with best. I looked down at my phone, which was still in my hands. I will only have one chance to do this. So I better do this before my chance gets away.
Princess: Did you get lost in though? You have been staring off in deep thought. I know how you get when you start thinking a lot. You okay? :)
The message brought me back to reality. I looked over the message again and again, trying to find the answer hidden within the letters. I shouldn't be over thinking this so much. But I was. There was only one conculsion I came up with. I pulled my phone up to my face and typed out the simple message. Clicking send. I waited for the message to reach her. The 'ching' assured me that she got the message. My heart pounded as she read over the message. I watched as she typed on her touchscreen keyboard. She finished and sent her letter. My heart still kept it up, as if he knew I needed to be more alarmed. He played as the sensor of my body. Telling me that it was looking pretty bad. That or I was just being an idiot. The chime of my phone brought me back once again. I looked down at my phones screen. With a huge sigh of relieve, the outcome was better than I expected.
Shadow: Yeah you do bring out my sweet side. And because this has always been a feeling I had for a while but never had the guts to ask till now. Would you want to go on a date with me Sally?
Princess: YES! I would love to go on a date! We can plan the day as soon as the peanut gallery leaves! :D Sally turned to from the window and leaned in close to me. Placing her lips on my cheek, she left but one kiss behind. She blushed and turned back to the window. At the sametime my cheeks were tinted red. 'Ching' my phone said, breaking the scilence once more. I looked at the nosiy little computer.
Princess: Sorry I really wanted to kiss you and I couldn't get the nerve either. That is untill you took that step and asked me out. So I decided I could do that. FYI I actually wanted to kiss you on the lips but I chickened out halfway. Lol I'm such a loser xP Shadow: I wouldn't say loser but you were defently a goof.
Princess: Thanks Shadow -_-
Shadow: Anytime :)
We had finally arrived at Silvers house. He had eneded up purchasing a farm from one of the guys that he saved long ago. They agreed to sell the farm to them for only ten thousand dollars. The farm house needed some renavation. And with free labor like the Sonic Team and Team Dark, we eneded up fixing up the dream house to Silver and Blazes liking. They prefered the peaceful life. To be honest if they didn't but the house. I would've bought it myself. Vanilla's van came to a slow and easy stop. She looked back at the rest of us and called out to the two sleeping beings in the very back.
"Okay Silver, Blaze, we're here." She said, placing the van in park. Silver stretched and yawned, getting up from his rest spot. He slumped out of his seat. Blaze soon followed, after she got through with her waking up rutine.
"Blaze did you remember to shut the windows before you left?" Silver asked, scratching his ass. His class slowly started to go as he began to hang out with Knuckles more and more. Well what was left after he learned how to act in this sociaity from Sonic.
"Yeah. I think so." Blaze yawned.
"Okay good because I'm looking at an open window but I'm probably imagining it." Blaze looked past Silver. He was right. Their kitchen window was wide open. And it was still raining. You can only imagine the mess that lurked inside the house. Blaze pushed past her boyfriend and ran into the house.
"Dammit Silver that was the one window I told you to close!" She yelled as she made her way through the house. She was no more than a couple seconds in the house till we heard her scream again. "No! There's water everywhere! Silver Get In Here!"
"Well that means I'm in trouble." Silver turned to me and Sally. "You two kids take it easy now. Use protection if you don't want little ones runing around." He made that stuiped hand gun guesture. He even included the 'click-click' noise with his mouth. Before I could try and grab his throat, he ran into his house. The door swung behind him and shut with a loud 'Bang!'
"SILVER DON'T SLAM THE DOOR!" We heard the purple cat yell through the closed door. Silver sure picked a winner. They seemed right for each other, to a degree.
"Everyone ready to go home?" Vanilla asked. We all nodded. She put the van in gear and took off towards the city we had left behind to come to the small town farm house. Now it would only take use another hour or so to get home. I'm kind of glad I got this van. I finally have two shots for happiness. One pink and the other Brown. In the end, I'll be happy with either one at the point. I could feel myself slowly starting to drift to sleep. I looked down at my princess in my arms. She had fallen asleep in my arms. Her head was laying on my chest. Her legs were kicked up on the seat. Like the way Blaze layed on Silver. But instead of just using me as a pillow, she was almost cuddling me. I liked it. It was like the same feeling I got from Amy. This turned out to be one of the best days ever. I hope this feeling never leaves me again. And with that, I was out.

"Hey Shadow catch!" I heard Sonic yelled, as he proceeded to throw a beach ball towards me. I was relaxing on a black and red lawn chair. I had my feet kicked up and was relaxing. My ice cold glass of water sat on the end table next to me. I was reading a good book on my phone when the blue wonder wanted to play ball. He tossed the ball and it came directly at me. Just before a mere moments before impact, a shadow stepped out of no where and caught the ball. I looked up to see exactlly who it was. It was none other than Sally Acorn. She was wearing a black and light blue stripped two piece bikini, light blue flip-flops, and white sunglasses that had a black tint. Her breasts were so much larger than the last time I saw them. Her hips were wider. And her butt was way more firm and large. She was definiatly someone to take a second even third look at. She tossed the ball back at Sonic. He caught it and looked back at the girl who tossed it.
"Come on Sonic even you can see that he is relaxing. Can you go play with some one else?" She said, sitting down in the other chair.
"Okay Sally. I'll go find Knuckles or Tails." Sonic said walking off.
"What about me!" Amy shouted as she tackled him into the pool that was behind him. She was wearing a hot pink two piece bikini. It was fitting to her body, considering her body had gotten a lot curvyer. The splash created small waves that knocked over the small Charmy that was siting in one of those little water ring things, and the little Cheese that was floating in the water. The two eventually swam up to the surface, Gasphing for air. "How was that one Shadow?!" She asked me.
"Better than I expected!" I hollered back. Amy giggled as the blue wonder tried to grab the edge of the pool. We all laughed him. Considering he was in the shallow end of the pool now, but he was still struggling. Amy noticed this and helped him out of the pool.
"Here Sonic, sorry about that." She said, helping sit on the edge of the pool.
"No worries Ames. It's just water and me don't mix." He huffed, got to his feet, and slowly started to walk away. Whistling started to sound off as he walked by the rest of the group leaving the house. He was puzzled for a bit, until he looked down. Whenever he got tackled by Amy, his blue swimming shorts had fallen off. And his business was flopping everywhere for the world to see. Vanilla luckly grabbed Cream and covered the little ones eyes. Sonic dashed for the pool and dove in. Probably in search of his trunks. He stayed underwater for quite sometime. We all assumed he couldn't find them.
"Oh Sonic." Tails said, cover his face and shaking his head. Everyone broke out in laughter over the goof up of Sonic. "You sure do know how to have a party." Sonic found the trunks and put them on. Pulling his way out of the water. He ran into the house. Before we go any futher, we are at Sallys house. She was having a pool party for the entire teams. This was her way of saying thanks to everyone for staying in touch with one another. That is was unfortually my birthday. Yes the infamous Shadow The Hedgehog was at a birthday party. His birthday party. Sally guilt tripped me into going. And because I care for her, I went to the party. I didn't want her birthday decorations to go to waste. She had spent a lot of time on this party. There was black and red decorations everywhere. Balloons, signs, gifts, and a smorgage board of food and cakes. Amy had made me a pink and black one. Rouge made a nice red and white cake. Vanilla and Cream made me a brown and red cake with two little figurines of me and cheese on top, Blaze made a red velvet cake, and of course Sally made me a three layer cake with chocolate on top, dark chocolate in the middle, and red and chocolate swirl cake on the bottom. She knew I had a thing for chocolate. That or she just loved chocolate herself. There were burgars, hot dogs, chili dogs (for Sonic), grilled chicken, hot wings, salads, french fries, and other small sides. I was gratefull for everything everyone did "So Shadow, how are you enjoying your party?" Sally asked. I looked up from my phone. She sat down next to me. It was quite fun up to this point. There wasn't any death. But it was still okay.
"Yeah I'm enjoying the party. I think this has to be one of the only parties that I don't completely dread to be at." I said, looking back at my digital book. Sally leaned over and looked at my phone. She seemed to be reading the book.
"Thanks for the compliment. But if only we could get you to interact a little more with everyone." Sally giggle. She reached over and snatched my phone. Sally kicked off her flip-flops off and began to run off towards everyone. She has been like this since we started hagging out a lot. She was always doing these little petty things to get my attention. But I never said I didn't like when she did this. I got up and did the same as her, well some what. I kicked off my black sandels, adjusted my red and black trunks, and ran after the brown squirrel girl. I mannaged to make my way over to the group. Everyone was chatting and hagging out with one another.
"Happy Birthday Shadow!" A familiar yellow cat yelled. She ran over and hugged me. I returned the kindness. She had on a red and white one piece bikini. "You haven't agged one bit since the last time we encountered." She said poking my nose.
"Last time? I seen you last week. You were with Sonic on a date." I teased her. She shook her head at the answer I gave her.
"Please don't remind me. That date wasn't the best. He took me to watch a remake of Speed Racer, which was horrible. Then we went to go eat at the new Chessy Mobius Island, the only sold hotdogs and chilidogs. And then the date ended with Sonic falling asleep in his house and me on the couch." She sighed. "I don't think me and him are compatible at all. I would be better off with someone like me." She laughed at her words. She was a sweet girl and a good friend to all of us.
"Well what do you expect with Sonic. The guy hasn't always been the most romantic type to the girls. You should just try and hang out with you friends for the time being. I promise we are a lot more intresting than a Speed Racer movie." I teased as I walked off. "Sorry to cut the conversations short, but I got a girl to find." I said walking off. I was making my way to the side of the house when I was stopped by a Blue Hedgehog holding a black plastic cup.
"Hey Shadow if you are looking for Sally, she's inside with the girls." He whispered, pointing to the sliding doors behind him. I smirked.
"Thanks Sonic. And the others girls are in there to stop me right?" I asked.
"I would say so yeah. They have Sally, Amy, Rouge, Cream, Blaze, and Wave." He said, taking a sip of his drink. "I say we should have some backup. I can round up the guys?"
"That's perfect. Go grab everyone and I'll keep an eye on the princess." I said looking through the glass door. Sonic nodded and ran over to pool. He spoke to the rest of the guys. He hands waving and explaining the situation. He then pointed to the house, then to me. The guys all smiled and nodded. They got out of the pool and walked with Sonic over to me. We had Knuckles, Espio, Jet, Silver, Tails, Sonic, and me. All of them then took their side right behind me.
"Alright let's do this thing!" Knuckles said in a whisper like yell. I counted out the signal out on my hand. One. They got ready. Two. Sonic finished off his drink and tossed the cup away. Three. We bull rushed the door. We all ran intot the house and suprised the girls. "Ladies!" Knuckles yelled as he walked through the door.
"Sally my phone." I said. She screetched. Quickly swallowing the food she was eating. She ran off to the living room. The other collection of females blocked my path. That was when the guys charged ahead of me. Sonic picked Amy, causing her to shriek in love. Rouge tackled Knuckles, causing him to struggle at her grasp on him. Espio and Tails both picked up Cream and put her out of the way. Silver and Blaze were rolling around on the ground trying to be the one to pin the other. And Jet started acting nervous around the purple swallow. She retured his goofy behavior with one of her own. I took this opportunity and took off after Sally. She was huddled behind her recliner. She had a pillow in her right hand and my phone in her other.
"Stay back Shadow." She said motioning the pillow towards me. I grabbed a pillow that was resting on her couch. With it in hand, I challenged her.
"Last chance give me my phone. Or feel the wraith of Shadow." I said playfully. She shook her head. I laughed and walked over to her. She stood up and struck me with the pillow. Using my pillow, I smacked her with the pillow in my hand. She staggered a bit. This was the perfect time to snatch my phone back. I dropped the pillow and reached for my phone. But as I was reaching for the phone. I accidentaily stepped on the pillow I dropped and tripped a bit. That caused me to instead of grabbing the phone, I got a hand full of something else. Big and firm. It was quishy and felt amazing. I retracked my hand and looked at Sally. She was blushing something fierce. As was I. "So..Sorry Sally." I said, looking down at the floor. She just giggled.
"Don't worry about it Shadow." She said walking over to me. "But next time you want to try and grab your phone. Try grabbing the phone and not my breast. Unless you ask me to be your girlfriend. Then you will get to grab them as many times as you want." She playfully handed me my phone, just as she had walked past me. I watched as she walked over Sonic and Amy. It seems like no one had noticed the exchange between us. Which was good. The last I need is for the rest of them to call me a molester or just plain tease me about it. I looked down at the two on the floor next to Sally. Amy had managed to jump on Sonics back. She sat on top of him, keeping blue boy from moving more than a inch. I moved closer to them. The constant sound of Sonic struggling did bring the joy back to the room. Or maybe just back to me and Sally, me mostly. I could tell he was getting mad. His face had grown bright red. He was panting. He tried his best to remove the girl from his back. But to no avil, he contuined to stay under the small danty bodybuilder. For some reason Amy could get the best of him nine times out of ten. Sonic was the only one to be bested by the little girl. This was funny. Considering that Sonic may have been the fastest out of all of the group. But he was not the most stacked. He was the lesser structured one out of us all. Not counting the girls or the young guys that is.
"Some help me!" Sonic shouted from under the pink hedgehog. "Come on Amy you have taken my trunks off. You have made me drop my piece of cake when you suprised me, and now you are crushing me. Get Off!" Sonic said, pushing at the ground.
"Nope. Not till you promise me one date." Amy said. She kept her ground, pinning the blue one to the floor. Honey walked through the door. Looking suprised at everyone. She gave a puzzled look as to what is going on. That is until she looked down at Amy and Sonic. She shook her head as she laughed.
"Amy if you are trying to get a date from him. Don't bother he has little clue about what a date should be like. Try for someonne like Shadow. He could be a potental date." Honey winked at me. She collected a bit of food onto her paper plate. She was busy doing this and didn't notice Sally giving her an upset look.
"Shadow is not looking for any dates right now. And if he was. I thinks his type would be a little diffrent than Amy." Sally said. Placing her hands on her hips she stared down the yellow cat.
"Maybe. But crazier things have happened. I went out with Sonic even though I said I would never date him." Honey stated. She forked some fries for a second. Then proceeded to consume the lot. "Trying to say what Shadow likes gives me the impression that you like him Sally." "I dont like-" Sally was about defend herself, but was cut off by Honey leaving out the sliding door. She turned to face us all.
"Whatever Sally. Just go easy on the poor hedgehog. He seems like a sweet heart to me." She was about halfway out the door till she popped back in again. "And if you or bubblegum dosen't lock that down. I sure as hell will." She laughed as she left for good this time. Sally looked upset. She had her arms crossed and standing with her weight shifted to the right side a bit. This was one of the signs that she was not in the best mood.
"Honey could be a good friend with us. But sometimes she seems to like stirring the pot between us all." Rouge said. She stood next to her red echidna. "She has always been my friend for a while now, but I don't trust her. She would easly stab me in the back it would benifit her. She someone everyone should watch out for. I'm not gossiping or anything, just keep an eye on that one." Rouge grabbed Knuckles' hand and walked out onto the patio.
"She's right." Blaze spoke up. "I haven't been able to completeyly trust her since I meet her. She seems nice. But I have always sensed that she has something to hide." Blaze looked at Silver, who was pinning her to the floor. "Silver can you help me up?" She asked. He did as she said and helped her up.
"I say leave her be. She hasn't done anything to cause this sudden suspicion. She has the right to be in the group and have friends." Wave said, walking over to the counter. Jet soon followed and spoke up himself.
"Yeah I'm with Wave. Leave her be. She seems like cool person." He added.
"I don't know. I'm with Rouge. Let's just keep an eye on her and let her stay our friend?" Espio said from the corner. "Let's move on from what was said. Don't forget it. Just enjoy the party."
"Yeah last one in the pool is slower than Sonic." Tails shouted as he zipped out the door. Everyone took off out to the pool. Even Sonic and Amy had ran out of the door towards the pool. It was funny considering that he really hates water. That only left me and Sally. Alone.
"So to get Sonic into the water, all you have to do is challenge him to a small race." Sally said sitting on one of her bar stools. I did the same and sat on the one on her right. She picked up a handfull of chips. She slowly ate them as I watched. This seemed a bit creepy. But at the time I didn't notice. "It's rude to stare Shadow." Sally giggled. I shook my head to return me back to reality. I turned my body to face forward. She was still giggling by the time I had decided to reach for a piece of cake. It was the cake that Amy had brought. I cut a piece. I brought it to my mouth and took a bite. The flavor was amazing. There was a slight taste of chocolate and vanilla. But at the sametime it wasn't. I know that dosen't seem logical but that is how the taste was. I looked over to Sally, who in return was staring at me.
"Sally I thought you said it was rude to stare?" I asked. She scoot her chair closer to me.
"It is. But it is also rude to have such bad table manners in my house." She proceeded to wipe the corner of my mouth. "For the Ultimate Lifeform, you have some of the worst manners I have ever seen." She pointed towards my chest. I looked to where she had pointed. Through the culinary dance of flavors. I had managed to get a lot of cake crumbs and pink frosting onto my chest. The tuff of white fur was stained with the cake that I had eaten. Sally got up and walked over to the drawers to the left of us. She opened one of them and pulled out a dish towel. She turned the facuet, right onto of the counter next to her, and wet the side of the towel. She scunched out some of the water. Then made her way back to me. She picked up the towel and started to wipe out some of the pink frosting and cake crumbs.
"Sorry aout that. But to my defense, this is a counter. Not a table. So as far as my counter manners go. I would say they are spot on." I said as she wiped my fur.
"Yeah yeah yeah smart ass. Just hold still as I clean you up." She continued to wipe up the mess that had fused with me. "Your lucky you're one of my closest friends. Or I would've just handed this to you."
"That and I'm the birthday boy right?" I asked.
"Yeah and because you're the birthday boy." Sally laughed.

I awoke from the dream. I hate having those dreams where you either relive a day in your life, or it's so real but still a dream. I looked around my surroundings. The blur of colors and shapes slowly started to form again. Vanilla was still driving. Her gaze focused on the road. Cream was asleep leaning on the window. She the right side of her head resting on the door. I looked Sally. She was still laying in my arms. She was snoring a bit here and there. It was cute in the sense that it would happen the in the blue moon. I stretched a bit. Trying my hardest not to wake the sleeping royality in my arms. She strunched her eyes as I moved. But never woke up. I don't how she is when she wakes up. If it is anything like when she's pissed. It was best if I left her asleep.
"Shadow do you want me to drop you off at your house first or can you wait till we drop of Blaze?" Vanilla's voice had broken the scilence. I looked up at her.
"My house would probably be closer. So let's just go there first." I said, moving a bit. She nodded and looked back at the road. And if Sally was too tired she could stay at my place. She could have the bed while I take the couch. I nuddged her a bit. She opened her eyes slowly. She looked up at me with a puzzled looked.
"What?" She asked in a half awake half asleep voice. She looked up at me with her crystal blue eyes. They were so bright, even in the dark.
"Do you want to stay at my apartment tonight? Or can you make it in the front door of your place?" I asked. She cleared her throat and laid back down. She adjusted her body bit.
"Your place is find. Long as I'm getting a nice couch." She joked.
"Best one in the house" I replied. She smiled and returned to her wonderland in her brain. I looked back at Vanilla. Without saying a word. She replied.
"Don't worry about it. I heard you two. So that means I'm going from your house, straight to mine. That's fine by me. That means I can get Cream into bed a lot sooner." She looked down at her daughter. She reached over and rubbed her daughters head. She smiled and looked back at the road. She was a nice person. Always doing anything without asking why. Taking care of her daughter and a lot other people like me and Vector. She was a sweet lady. And maybe if I was a little older. She would be someone I would try and go after. But then again, I'm not much of a couger chaser. So I'll stick with the princess and pink rose.
We had gotten into the city a lot sooner than we had left. The rain still fell from the heavens. The sky still black as night. Thunder and lightning fought in the skies. Their loud bangs and flash of light covered the city. The city returned its own screams. With the load cars engines and horns echoing through the streets. And the buildings calling out with the conversations and chatter from its dwelling beings. This was the only part of the night life in the city I hated. The constant noise of people filling my ears. Sometimes I wish I would have gotten the lesser hearing of verson that the humans possed. Sally nustled my chest. Causing me to look down at her. She was slightly awake. I could see one of her blue gems peering out to see what was around her.
"Good we are back in the city. I was hoping we would get there soon." She said with a smile. She closed her eye and went scilent once more. Vanilla looked back at us and mouthed 'Is She Still Asleep Or Is She Awake?' I shrugged my shoulders. She laughed at my answer. To be honest. I have never been around her outside of us hanging out. Her sleeping habits and other alone methods were but a mystery to me. I guess tonight would be great time to learn some of them. That is if I didn't pass out as soon as I lay down.
"We are almost there. We got about half a block before we get to your house Shadow." Vanilla said. I nodded at her. She tapped Creams shoulder, trying to wake her. Cream woke up after the fifth tap. She groggly looked at her mother. Vanilla snickered at her daughter. "Cream. Sweetheart we are almost home. You can sleep when you get home. I want to say good-bye to our two passengers." Cream rubbed her eyes.
"Okay momma. Where are we?" She asked through the eye rubbing.
"No more than a few streets from Shadow's now." Vanilla reached over to the center console. She picked a cup. Taking a sip, she didn't move her eyes from the road. Placing the cup back. She spoke again. "And we are here Shadow." She slowly drove right next to the curb. Putting it in park. She looked back at us. I reached for the door and opened it. The sliding door slowly zipped past me. It opened the gate to the rain falling. Splashing and coating my legs, it taunted me to stay in the van. I ignored it and put one foot out in the storm.
"Here Shadow." Cream said, handing me the umbrella that I had given to her. I toke the small tool.
"Thanks Cream. Thank you too Vanilla. This rain would've covered me if you didn't give me a ride." I said. I picked up the sleeping beauty into my arms. She grabbed my shoulder and huddled into my chest.
"Anytime Shadow. You two be careful okay?"
"We will. You guys as well. Bye Vanilla. Bye Cream." I said, getting up.
"Bye Shadow." The two rabbits both said. I opened the umbrella and held it over me and Sally. Her mostly. I stepped out of the door and closed it behind me. The van slowly leaving the curb and eventually of in the distance. I hurried up the stairs that led to my apartment. Manuvering my keys out of my pocket, I unlocked the front door to my house. I walked in and shut the door to my house. The house still smelt of cake and my body spray. The house was empty. Void of any sound. It was such a weird feeling to come home to everyday. After being alone for so long. It was nice to have someone to be around. I looked down at Sally. She was still asleep and dry. I retracked the umbrella and headed up stairs. The creaking of the wood ran throughout the house. I reached the top of the creaky bastards. I head down the hallway and then to the right. My place was only a two bedroom and one bath. One room was turned into my G.U.N office. And the other was my bedroom. I wasn't going to make her sleep on the couch. But at the sametime I wasn't going to sleep next to her. So I came to one decision. I walked into my room. The bright moonlight seeped through the black curtains that hung over the windows. Me freshly made bed wait for someone to sleep on it. I walked over to the right side of the bed. Pulling back the covers with my free hand. I placed her into the bed. I pulled the sheets over. She smiled as she felt the blankets lay across her body. If she wanted to get a little more comfy and remove some clothing. She would have to do that without me doing so. I left the side of the bed and walked over to the door. With one final look at the sleeping girl in my bed. I closed the door. Leaving her to sleep in peace.
