I'm sorry about the month long hiatus. The writing wasn't flowing very well for this story so I took sometime to work on something new.

Please check out my new story: A Traitor Among Friends, this is something I'm really excited about. It's collaboration with my sister, phoenixatbreakingdawn (who also was beta for this chapter). Please give it a chance!

I hope everyone enjoyed the exciting third chapter!

Now onward to the fluff within number 4.

JK Rowling owns all the characters; I'm just taking them on a play date for the chapter.

Hermione was not a vein individual. She didn't worry much about vanity, but due to her status she always made sure she dressed and looked nice. As she opened her eyes and looked at her glamoured self for the first time she had to admit, it was shocking. She was in the same clothes she dressed herself in that morning, but she didn't look like herself. Her wheat blonde hair was now a shade of brown that reminded her of a chocolate bar. Not only was the color different but as she lifted her hands to touch it she realized that was a giant bush of frizz and curl. Her pale peaches and cream complexion was now slightly more tan, as if she spent the summer at the beach, and the natural blush her cheeks had was now more muted. Perhaps the most striking difference was her eyes. Normally her eyes were a vibrant shade of blue with with flecks of green running through them, in the mirror she saw deep brown eyes that were unfamiliar to her. She had never understood why everyone insisted that she be put under the charms before she went to school, but seeing how drastic of a difference there was in her appearance, she realized that she was going to be the one who needed the adjustment period. Looking away from the mirror and toward her parents she promptly passed out.

After a fair bit of time had passed Hermione finally came to. Her mother, rushing to her side, immediately enveloped her in a hug and asked, "Hermione, are you okay sweetheart?"

"I'm fine mum. Just a bit more overwhelming than I originally thought possible. I did not realize that there was going to be quite so much to process in such a short period of time." Hermione said with a small smile.

Sharing the look of apprehension with her daughter Diana replied, "Oh, sweetheart. I know it is. We should have applied the charms in intervals so you had a chance to get used to them one at a time instead of doing it all at once. We did not realize how much of a shock it would be to you."

"It's okay mum, I'm fine, how long was I out?"

"About forty-five minutes, love."

"Am I still okay to go to Harrods with the Grangers?"

"Only if you're up for it, you can always go another day."

"I'm alright mum, I want to go! I need to get more clothes for school, or, well more appropriate clothes, and I will need to get used to my new appearance. No time like the present." Hermione said with her most confident, let's do this voice.

Diana rolled her eyes at her daughter and told her, "Okay, do not forget to get to know the Granger's dear. You'll need to be comfortable around them since they will be pretending to be your parents."

"Mum! I know! I get along well with Dan and Emma. I always have. They have kept me company for the last eleven years, when you and dad were busy. You do not need to worry!" Hermione said as she rolled her eyes at her mother.

Dan and Emma had been watching this all unfold and they couldn't help but laugh. Hermione had always seemed older than her years, and she once again showed that by reassuring her mother. Hermione was a force of nature. She was exceedingly smart and even-tempered. Even as a baby she seemed beyond her years, she was hardly fussy and it was rare that she cried.

You see the Grangers had known Hermione since she was born. They were the first outside of the family to hold her. As she grew they were present for every milestone, every birthday, every scraped knee. They had spent so much time with Hermione that she really did feel like their daughter at times. It only made sense for Charles and Diana to ask them to pose as Hermione's parents, and the moment Charles and Di did just that, they immediately said yes. They had never been able to have children themselves, they had never gotten to see how their genes would mix together to form a child, but today, today they would get to see what their favorite little girl, their pseudo daughter, looked like with a mix of their traits, and they got to her out for the afternoon.

Hermione had finished talking with her mum and she was ready to spend the day with the Granger's. She really liked Mr. and Mrs. Granger. They were nice, and fun, and had always kept her company as she was dragged around with her parents. They were always there. At every holiday, birthday party, and family function, the Granger's were there. To Hermione the Granger's were part of the family, and today she was excited that she would get to spend the afternoon with them.

Hermione had to admit the one good thing about her glamour was that she would finally get the chance to spend the day as plain Hermione Granger. She would get to window shop, and try on dresses, she could look in a book shop for hours on end, all without having to worry about whether she was being proper or not. She wouldn't have to worry about wearing a dress, she could wear jeans, she wouldn't have to sit up straight, or wave at the commoners, she wouldn't have to do any of that, and that, really appealed to her. Today, she was no longer Hermione Anne Kensington, Princess of Wales, she was just Hermione Jean Granger.

Running back to her room Hermione grabbed her small handbag off of her bed, and made her way to the kitchens, where her grand adventure would begin.

The ride to Harrods was quiet and comfortable for the group of three and their driver. It was a short drive and before Hermione knew it their driver had dropped them off in Soho where the trio began making their way towards the Department Store.

Once inside Hermione began looking around. She was overwhelmed by the interior, everything was so crisp and clean, and she hadn't the faintest idea where to start. In that moment Hermione was ever so thankful that the Granger's were with her. Sensing that Hermione was overwhelmed, Emma took Hermione by the hand and led her towards the children's section of the store.

"This way dear, follow me." Emma said smiling at Hermione. So with that, Dan and Hermione followed Emma to the area in the store where their adventure would begin.

Hermione knew this was going to be a long day. She needed everything, and she really meant everything, undergarments, clothes, shoes, even a pair of earrings that Emma had picked out for her. The undergarments were the easiest part, picking up two weeks worth of the basics would be plenty to get Hermione through the Hogwarts wash cycles. The more difficult part was picking up casual, everyday clothes. Hermione Kensington was used to being proper and wearing dresses, skirts, blouses, and tights. However Hermione Granger would need more casual clothes; jeans and t-shirts, jumpers and trainers, the list went on and on. Not to mention, Hermione had to try everything on, with the newly applied glamours she realized there were slight changes in her body, and as it would seem, Hermione Granger wore a different size than Hermione Kensington.

They spent the greater part of the day at the department store shopping. They had amassed quite a pile of clothing that they knew would be necessary for Hermione's year at Hogwarts. The trio easily talked and got to know each other on a more personal level during their excursion. Hermione learned a lot about the Granger's that she would have known if she really was their daughter. Things like, Dan being an avid Chelsea Football fan, and Emma participating in gardening and book clubs in their neighborhood. It was a full day of bonding for the group and they were all genuinely enjoying themselves.

When it became time to checkout Hermione was thankful that the Grangers had the ability to use the bank accounts linked to her parents account, as the last time she looked at the total it was over just over 1500 pounds. She couldn't believe that they had to spend this much money just to prepare her for Hogwarts, and they hadn't even been to Diagon Alley yet. They quickly finished at checkout and had their bags held within the store until they were ready to leave the area. The trio, realizing how hungry their excursion had made them decided it was time to get some food and made their way towards the cafe within the store.

Hermione had never realized that a department store came with its own cafe. As Hermione made her decision the group quickly picked up their food and found a table. Their first order of business was to call the driver and let them know it was time to be picked up. Their second was enjoying their food, as they hadn't eaten since breakfast.

Following their meal the driver met them and they, with their bags, made the quick trip back to Kensington Palace. As they arrived at the palace Hermione couldn't help but want to enjoy another trip back into London. Whether she was Hermione Granger or Hermione Kensington, she wanted to enjoy life outside of the palace.

Charles and Diana were waiting outside for the group to arrive. The pair had been a nervous wreck all day. What if the glamour wore off, and what if that happened if someone recongized Hermione. Sure they had guards stations nearby in case something like that happened, but still, what if something had happened to their little girl. Through the nervous the pair had to admit, they were eager to see their daughter and hear all about her day. They watched the group get out of the car, looking exhausted, and also saw the haul of packages that were being unloaded subsequently.

"Have you eaten yet?" Diana asked the group.

"We've just ate supper at the shop mum."

"Okay that's perfect. Well, tell me, how was it?"

"It was so much fun! We shopped and got everything I needed, and the store was HUGE and I swear I would've gotten lost in there had it not been for Emma knowing her way about. I can't wait to go back and explore some more." Hermione said without taking a breath.

Diana and Charles laughed. "I'm sure you'll get to explore Harrods many more times my dear."

Later that night as Hermione laid down for bed she smiled. So this is what it was like to be a normal girl, this is what it is like to not have responsibilities, to not have to worry about impressing people, would it all be this easy at Hogwarts?

As she drifted off to sleep she dreamt about her pending trip to Diagon Alley. She would finally be surrounded by people, more people, who were like her. She would get to cast spells, and ride a broom. She would get to learn all about transfiguration, and potions, and charms, and most of all, she would have friends. She would finally get to have friends.
