Rusty looked at Sky shocked that he would agree to helping a cat he didn't even know. "Why do you want to help me rebuild Skyclan?" he asked confused. He looked at the older tom and waited for him to answer his question.
"Rusty, why are acting like only you and Sky are doing this? I want to help didn't I just say earlier that best friends stick together. Well, I don't plan on losing you so I'll help anyway I can and leave my house folks if I have to. You do plan on leaving your house folks right?" Vapor asked his friend looking at him the tip of his tail twitching back and forth.
"Yes, I do I think there is a rule in the warrior code that says to reject the soft life of a kittypet," Rusty meowed remembering how Cloudstar had gone over the warrior code with him in his dreams.
"That rule was not always there I think it is a new rule but I do understand why that rule was made," Sky meowed looking from Rusty to Vapor. "Okay to answer your question from before the reason I want to help rebuild Skyclan is because my grandmother was born in Skyclan. She made the journey here to the gorge with the others and was pregnant with my mom when the clan finally fell," Sky meowed. "When my mother was born my grandmother told her stories of Skyclan and then when I was born my mother told me stories of Skyclan," he meowed looking at them. "I knew that one day a cat would be sent to rebuild Skyclan," he meowed.
"Wow you really kept your faith all these years?" Vapor asked looking at Sky with admiration. He couldn't believe that a tom he had always thought was crazy wasn't actually crazy.
"Yes, I have though I doubted that Skyclan would be rebuilt before I died," Sky told them looking from Rusty to Vapor again.
"Well, I think we can arrange for it to be rebuild before you die but only with your help," Rusty meowed looking at Sky. "We will have to find other cats to join the clan," he meowed looking at Sky like he might have some ideas.
"I've seen some loners and rogues come around here. They may join if we told them about Skyclan, but I'm not making any promises," Sky meowed flicking his ears back and forth.
"We know some kittypets who may join if we ask them," Rusty meowed seeing his friend nodding in agreement from the corner of his eye. "We'll also need a cat who is leader and a cat who is deputy and so forth," Rusty meowed frowning.
"Well I think Sky should be the leader since he knows the most about Skyclan and our ancestors," Vapor meowed looking at the older tom.
"Yeah, I think so too. That way we can start finding cats to join the clan right away instead of having to wait," Rusty meowed with a nod of his head.
"Well, if I am to be leader than you will have to be my personal apprentice. I think in the future you are meant to be leader. I could be wrong but I can't think of any other reason that Skyclan would ask you to rebuild Skyclan if they didn't plan for you to be leader sooner or later," Sky meowed looking from Rusty to Vapor.
"True, but we need to work on getting the clan rebuild as soon as possible and since I am still young and have yet to have an apprentice I can't exactly become leader," Rusty pointed out.
"True and I'm guessing from your size that you are only 6 moons old," Sky meowed looking Rusty over before doing the same to Vapor.
"That's right me and Vapor are only 6 moons old," Rusty meowed when he heard Sky say that he looked to be about 6 moons of age.
"Than that means you'll both have to train some before you are ready to become warriors. Cats usually train for 6 moons old before they are ready to become warriors but it is possible to become a warrior early if the leader sees the cat fit enough to become a warrior early," Sky meowed. "Of course if I am to become leader I will also change my name to something else," Sky meowed as he frowned.
"Really? Why will you change your name?" Vapor asked the older tom curiously.
"Because the creator of Skyclan was named Sky and I don't want to end up having the same name as Skyclans creator. It just wouldn't feel right for me to have the same prefix as him," Sky meowed frowning.
"Okay, so that what would you want your new name to be?" Rusty asked Sky looking at the tom curiously wondering what he would say he wanted his new name to be.
"Gorge and then my leader name can be Gorgestar," Sky meowed looking at the two younger cats to see what they thought.
"Sounds fine to me," Vapor meowed.
"Yeah, sounds fine to me so from now on you won't be known as Sky or Moony but as Gorge," Rusty meowed flicking his ears back and forth. Than he looked at the sky and noticed how late it was getting and he frowned. "Oh no, we won't be able to get back to the twoleg place before nightfall and I don't think it would be save to try and walk along the gorge after it grows dark," he meowed clearly worried.
"Well than why don't you spend the night in my den with me there is enough room for about four cats so three cats is nothing," Gorge meowed looking at them.
"Really? You would really let us stay in your den for the night?" Vapor and Rusty both asked at the same time looking at Gorge shocked.
"Of course and we can start recruiting cats to join Skyclan tomorrow," Gorge meowed before leading the way into his den so that they could all get some sleep.
Yes since Rusty is entering the story at 6 moons he won't be the first leader of the rebuilt Skyclan but don't worry he'll be a leader eventually. Sky or Gorge as he is now called will be the first leader of the rebuilt Skyclan.
