Potter-Weasley Flat

Muggle London

Olivia watched listlessly as the radiant autumn light of the morning sun filled her bedroom. She hadn't slept. Again. Gently she turned onto her side and stared at the man resting beside her. Graham Weasely, her handsome and impossibly loving fiance rested comfortably unaware that he was being scrutinized under an emerald gaze.

Briefly, Olivia wondered about the child in her belly. Would the baby inherit Graham's kind features and gentle spirit? Or did she have a blond haired, green eyed Malfoy developing inside her. As if he sensed her distress, Graham reached out his arm and wrapped it across Olivia's torso.

"Morning, love," Graham murmured, peering at her with a lazy smile.

Before Olivia could respond, Graham leaned over and placed a tender kiss on the corner of her mouth. "How'd you sleep?"

"Fine," Olivia lied, trying her best to smile as more kisses were peppered down her neck, but with each gesture of affection, Olivia felt stabs of guilt.

Twelve days.

It had been exactly twelve days since Madam Pomfrey had confirmed her pregnancy and Olivia had yet to confess.

At first she blamed lack of opportunity. At the moment she and her fiance were on opposite schedules. Graham, a fourth year veteran of the Puddlemore United Quidditch Team was often out training for the upcoming season and Olivia was set to take her certification test for becoming a Healer. Much of her time was spent reviewing medi-witch texts and working round the clock at St. Mungo's.

But then on the fifth day of knowing, Olivia and Graham spent the afternoon together at the Burrow. While it would have been inappropriate to drop such a bomb in front of her surrogate family, Olivia still could have sat Graham down the second they apprarated home. She had not.

As much as Olivia hated to admit it, she had grown cowardly.

"So beautiful," Graham sighed into her skin. Olivia was on her back now, looking into Graham's handsome face; he was hovering above her supporting his weight with his forearms on either side of her head. His eyes gazed down at her in wonder. As though he couldn't believe himself so lucky.

Olivia felt her stomach turn.

He had looked at her this way everyday since the moment they first kissed. Maybe even before that, but Olivia had never noticed. No one had loved her like Graham, not even Draco.

Now she was pregnant and either wizard had equal chances of being the father.

How could she have done this?

Today, Olivia vowed. I have to tell him today.

Before Graham could kiss her further, she placed her hand on the hard planes of his chest, halting his movement.

"Are you starving?" She asked, feigning innocence.

Graham stared down at her incredulously, completely thrown off his early morning seduction track, but he recovered quickly.

"You could say that," he crooned, trailing his hazel eyes over her body appreciatively.

Graham leaned down, capturing Olivia's lips in a languid kiss.

"I'm famished," Olivia gasped feeling Graham's semi-hard length grow firmer against her hip. The last thing she needed to be having was sex.

Graham yelped, startled as Olivia squirmed out from underneath him. "How 'bout I make some breakfast?" She continued, tumbling out of bed.

"What's gotten in to you?" Graham asked, his voice mixed with sexual frustration and amusement.

Olivia felt his eyes on her as she pulled a hoodie and sweatpants over her tank top and knickers. "I didn't eat much yesterday at the hospital," she shrugged as another lie spilled from her lips. "and when I came home I just fell into bed. Now I'm hungry...for food."

Graham's brow furrowed, unsure of what to make of her behavior.

"See you when you're ready," Olivia said as she scurried out of their bedroom, leaving Graham tangled up in their sheets.

"Mum's birthday is in a few days," Graham said half an hour later at their table.

Olivia had made a simple breakfast: bacon, eggs, toast and tea.

What are you supposed to make when you're about to ruin someone?

"Hmm," she said, fork in hand as she shuffled her eggs about on her plate.

"The 30th," Graham clarified, though the date was muffled by the bacon he was chewing. "Mum's birthday. I talked to Dad and he said it will most likely be the whole lot of us. Did you want to bring Teddy? He and little Victorie get on well. You still have the day off right?"

"Yeah," she told him.

"Yeah, you still have the day or yeah, you'll bring him?"

"Yes, I have the day," Olivia sighed feeling lump beginning to form in her throat.

Though I doubt your family will receive me come Thursday, she added sardonically to herself.

"I'd have to ask Andromeda," she continued as she grabbed her tea cup. "Being a godmother may be a big deal in the magical community, but I can't just take off for the day with Teddy without telling her."

Graham nodded and continued to prattle on, but Olivia didn't hear him.

Instead her mind latched on to the magical community and what people would say once they found out?

Olivia had accepted long ago that her life would never be fully her own. The magical community had made the transition from worshiping her role as The Chosen One to that of a life—and oddly—a style icon. She wasn't a stranger to being falsely labeled attention starved, a thrill junkie or even a liar. But, Olivia might be shunned for this.

Fidelity and virtue were cornerstones of the magical community and while Olivia and Graham had not yet married, she still wore his ring on her finger.

You knew all of this, she frowned. And yet you still slept with him.

Impulsively, Olivia had thrown caution and all logical thought to the wind and gave in to her inhibitions. Draco Malfoy. Draco fucking Malfoy.

Draco may have worn her down with his relentless pursuit, but Olivia had been the one to initiate their relationship, even though it started out innocent.

After the Malfoy family had been exonerated by the Wizengamot, Olivia had taken it upon herself to form a truce between her, the blond aristocrats and Andromeda Black.

She had done it for her godson. Olivia felt that Teddy deserved a family. While she and Andromeda would provide more than enough love and nurturing for the boy, the Malfoys were still his kin. Didn't he deserve to have as many people in his life that could love and care for him. Sure, the Malfoy's may arguably be a stuffy bunch, but they loved and protected their own. They weren't like the Dursleys. Thankfully, it didn't take much to effort on Olivia's part to convince Narcissa and Andromeda to bury the hatchet and Lucius and Draco were both eager to indulge Narcissa's happiness.

From there Draco and Olivia began the awkward transition from former arch-rivals to pseudo friends. After a few heart to hearts, Draco and Olivia discovered that they had quite a few things in common and they both began to cherish their platonic relationship. Then Draco changed the game. At first Olivia ignored the signs, the heated gazes and lingering touches and shameless flirting. But before she knew it her knack for finding trouble kicked in and the former Gryffindor got curious.

Draco was charming and sly and wild. The Malfoy heir ignited something in her that Graham didn't or simply couldn't. In the moment Olivia used her youth and hectic childhood to justify her need to act out and the young babe in her womb was the consequence of her recklessness.

This shame would alienate her possibly forever from the Weasleys, the family that had practically fostered her. Something about Draco had drawn her to him and for a while she hadn't cared during their tryst, she cared now.

"Liv," Graham called, the tambour of his voice pulled her out of her reverie.

"Mmm?"

Graham reached out from across the table and freed her bottom lip from her teeth. She hadn't noticed she was even doing that.

"Where'd you go just now?" he asked, the twinkle in his eyes was back and there was a small smile tugging on his lips. Olivia wished she had a camera to capture they way he looked right now. That little smile was the epitome of who Graham was: the quintessential wizard next door.

Now, she commanded. Do it now.

"I've done something," she whispered gravely. She didn't want to be the reason he'd stop smiling.

"What's wrong, love?"

"I slept with someone," her voice was so soft but it might as well have been a shout based on the way Graham's body leaned back.

Moments passed before either of them spoke. The only sound that came was from the fireplace when their daliy post popping out via the Floo Network.

"I'm sorry?" Graham asked full of disbelief.

"I've been cheating on you. Well I was, but I stopped and," she paused feeling tears threatening to spill, but she dare not cry. She wasn't allowed. Not in front of him.

Graham's demeanor changed completely before her eyes. That bright, easy going way about him was replaced with a mask of hurt and a body full of rage.

"And?" he pressed as though he couldn't believe there was more.

Unconsciously, Olivia palmed her stomach dreading the delivery of this blow.

He seemed to understand. Letting out a strangled howl, he whispered 'a baby' and Olivia confirmed it with a nod.

The room was deafened by more silence.

Graham's fist ponded on the table and Olivia jumped up in shock. In her confusion, Olivia's hand smacked against her mug causing its contents to topple over onto the floor.

"Is it mine?" Her fiance asked.

Olivia couldn't bare to look at him so she stared meekly at the black tea stain gathering on the carpet.

"Is it mine!" Graham repeated, this time in a rough shout.

"It's too early," Olivia whispered, daring to look him in the eye. "I won't know for about another four or five weeks."

The brunette watched as Graham lept from the table. Tears stained Graham's cheeks as he paced back and forth. This is something that he did when upset. His lips were pursed and every now and then he would tug on his choppy red hair. On his third turn about the kitchen, Graham punched out his hand aiming at nothing in particular and a vase across the room bust into pieces. He appeared a bit more relaxed after letting go of that pent up energy. Olivia had never seen Graham use wandless magic before, she didn't know that he was even capable.

"So you were with someone when we got engaged?" he yelled, clearly he had worked out the dates.

"Yes," she confirmed.

Graham growled in frustration as a throw pillow on their sofa exploded.

"Why did you accept my proposal?"

"I chose you! I want to be with you."

Graham released a humorless laugh. "Do you mean that? Or did you come to the conclusion after you went and got yourself knocked up?"

"Graham," Olivia cried, wiping away her tears. Gingerly, she rose to her feet and tried to get closer to him.

"Don't," he said.

"Graham," she tried again, what to say after that, she wasn't sure.

"You don't get to feel bad," he told her. "You don't get to comfort me."

"I'm sorry. I love you," she said.

Graham blinked at her, his tears stoppered as he laughed in her face. "Do you?"

Without waiting for her reply, Graham disappeared into their bedroom. From where she stood, Olivia could hear the rough opening and closing of cabinets and flinging of objects followed by half garbled curses.

Finally, Graham emerged with a trunk of belongings and his wand in hand. "I'll be back in a few days to collect the rest of my things. I'll make sure I do it when you're not around."

"Graham," Olivia sobbed openly. "Please—"

Her tears seemed to have some effect on him, but just as swiftly as the emotions came, Olivia noted how Graham visibly forced them back down.

"Tell me who you slept with."

The hollowness in Graham's voice shook Olivia to her core. She barely recognized him in it.

The stoic look was back on his face and their was a vein pulsing just above his brow. It was as though he was waiting for confirmation for something he'd always suspected.

"It was Draco," she mumbled. "Just the once."

Graham nodded, unsurprised by the revelation, but no less upset.

"Did you sleep with him before or after my proposal?"

More than once Olivia opened her mouth trying to find the words.

"Before or after, Liv?"

"After," she said.

He laughed again, shaking his head at some unvoiced thought.

"You are a lot of things Olivia Potter, but I never knew you were a heartless bitch."

The familiar pop associated with apparation vibrated through the room and Olivia knew that Graham was gone.
