Eureka SeveN: RE-EVOLUTION
It's been some time since I posted something right? Well, here is a new chapter. I've been having some problems back home, but I finally had some time to finish this.
004: TRIAL
October 25th - ?
"So… who are you two?"
Obito was in charge of looking over the two kids who were in the gigantic robot. Rin made sure of that. He sat to the side of the bed of where they rested peacefully.
Normally, Rin wouldn't approve of him staying up too late, but both agreed that someone had to look over them.
"*sigh* I guess I'm talking alone again…"
Yes, they were sleeping like logs 'No more lumberjack's jokes!'
Obito knew he needed to sleep, but then again, the world forged him to be generous enough for this... Rin would be angry if he didn't…
Now we know who has the pants in this house.
'Oi! Stop that! Keep narrating the story!'
Right…
"Obito? Do you want something to eat?" Came a voice from the dining room.
"No thanks" He stood up and walked to said room. He entered and saw a woman in her early thirties who was smiling at him. "I already ate something on the way back"
"It wasn't with those bums from that bar you go to, is it?" She asked him with her hands on her hips. She had a teasing smile on her face.
Yes, he's whipped. 'But I lover nonetheless…' Outwardly, he smiled nervously "No… it wasn't. It was with… Bo… Ru… to Yes! Boruto!" He leaned cooly against the wall. "Nice guy by the way"
Now, Rin's face turned from a smile to a stern expression. "Boruto? How is it that I don't know anyone named Boruto in this town? Where there are only about a hundred people living?"
Obito sweated bullets as his wife's intense gaze locked onto his eyes.
Rin sighed "I knew it…You're incorrigible…"
"But you love it!"
She smiled this time and kissed him lightly "Baka…"
"Papa is a Baka!"
Obito smiled and looked towards his daughter "Rei-Chan! You hurt me saying those things!"
"Nah! I was joking. I love Papa!"
"Now it's time to eat, Rei, sit on the table"
"Okay Mama!" The little girl ran to the table and started gobbling down the food.
"She got your appetite…" Rin sighed.
Obito, meanwhile, was crying rivers "That's my girl…. Make Papa proud!"
"We interrupt to bring you an urgent report coming directly from The Alliance"
Now the eyes of the family members were on the TV which had 'The Leader' talking to a crowd from Konoha. He was on the roof of what used to be the Hokage Tower.
Rin and Obito frowned at this. They were against this whole Alliance business. Part of the reason why they exiled themselves to this town.
"Rei go to your room" Seeing her playful father this serious, made the little girl do as she was told.
"Hello people of Konoha, I'm glad to bring you news regarding the rebel faction that has threatened our dreams of peace for some time"
The people booed at the mention of the rebel faction, but cheered at heard of 'the dreams of peace'.
"As Shikaku would say, how troublesome…" Obito commented while his wife nodded.
The Leader was a crafty and manipulative person who always used a cloak to cover his identity, a clever thing considering his powerful enemies.
"Gekko State has been captured"
Now this shocked the couple.
"How…"
Obito clenched his fists and closed his eyes "Those bastards…"
"It's been some time, but our united efforts have finally paid off as this menacing group of rebels has finally been put to a stop!" He seemed to stop in order to let people absorb the information. "We fought very hard to reach this peace we all have been wishing for! Five nations united in one! We made it possible! We! The people of the elemental nations!"
The people chanted 'Leader, Leader, Leader!'
"Now it's on our hands their chance of succeeding in what they want… World Chaos! We can stop them! We will show them who we are! We will stand strong!" Now the Leader stopped and brought a piece of paper "This paper states that the members of Gekko State will be given a chance"
People looked confused and some were downright angry at that statement
"They killed my family" Someone said.
"My brother disappeared because of them!" Another one shouted.
"People of the elemental nations…" He started "We are doing this because… We are not like them!"
The crowd's eyes widened at that statement.
"We are not savages! We are civilized people! WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM!" Now he calmed himself "And they will see it as this as…"
"They are going to be judged…"
"IN A TRIAL!"
People cheered at that.
Rin shut down the TV and sighed "This is getting out of control…"
"Holland was never one to be caught like that..."
The medic-nin nodded "You're right… something wrong…"
"No way…"
Both turned to see Naruto still looking shocked at the TV.
"Huh? You're awake?"

October 25th – Konoha – Hi no Kuni/Fire Country
"That was a nice speech, sir"
The leader, now not a cheery as he seemed in front of the crowd, just grunted as his loyal second-in-command "Their just that gullible…"
"People are hopeless. You give them a solution…"
"… And they take it" The leader finished knowingly. "A nice phrase, Dewey"
"I know sir" The man smirked and asked "Though, lying about having the whole Gekko State is something I don't understand"
"As a leader you have to make the correct choices to assure the civilians loyalty. The truth would only lead them to panic which isn't good for our situation"
"Right" Dewey started looking over some files and started "Sir, the other nations 'approve' of Konoha being the venue of the next Chunnin Exams"
The Leader nodded "It is a fact then… very well. Select three good Jounin to be the proctors…" He relaxed in his chair and asked "How is her team?"
"Team 7 is fine. The kid Danzou sent, Sai, is at a very good level. He's low Chunnin most likely. The girl, Sakura, in fighting skills is Gennin, though her healing skills are becoming well known in Konoha. Anemone, for her part, is high Chunnin, Low Jounin level. Her training is coming along very well" Dewey took breath and asked "Why do you ask?"
"They're going to be the 'star team' of Konoha. I want them to represent Konoha in the eyes of the world. A brand new team to guide the world…" The leader picked some papers and skimmed through them "What is the status report of the hunting team?"
"Negative, sir. I'm afraid that the information gave to us led to another dead end. The location of the Coralian and the Fourth's legacy is still unknown. Uchiha Sasuke's trace led to Kirigakure, but at one point, the trace vanishes, like he was never there" Dewey gave the leader a folder which had the information "I think that someone is helping them…"
"Interesting, tell the team to keep up with the search" The leader interlocked his fingers and said "We will find them; especially her… she's the key to the future…"
He stood up and looked at Dewey "I won't be here for some time… let everything fall into place…"

"Okay team, you're free for the rest of the day. Relax and we will meet tomorrow at 5am, sharp!"
The team leader vanished in a whirlwind of leaves and the Gennin were left to their own devices.
"I'll be taking my leave" The black haired one said before vanishing in the same manner as their sensei.
"Probably to report to 'Danzou-Sama'" The taller girl snickered to herself. "Sakura, wanna go shopping?"
Sakura shook her head "Sorry, I have the night turn in the hospital. Maybe tomorrow" And she walked away, leaving the pink haired girl alone.
'Like always…'
Anemone, after the incident in Uzu, felt really strange. She didn't know what it was, but it was related to the dream she had while she was in her LFO.
As they said, during the day, she was a Gennin (An overly powerful one, but a Gennin nonetheless) while at night, she was a pilot for the Alliance.
Never in her time working in the Alliance did she ever feel so… alive.
She has been piloting since she was basically a toddler, so it was a second nature for her at this point. The day she got her LFO, replacing her old IFO she was ecstatic. The END is a powerful LFO capable of many things which only made her work easier. The drug they gave her, now she hated that. The drug to make her able to use the LFO always left her with slight recollections of what she did while piloting. Dominic said that she turned into another persona. Otherwise, she liked her job.
Anemone was happy with her work as a pilot.
As a Gennin, she had the 'Honourable' duty of doing D-Rank missions. Aside from that detail, she likes the idea of making friends. She wanted true friends, not the ones that came to her only because of her status. Sakura was one of them. Hinata was another one; the shy girl was loyal to her.
Anemone was happy with her work as a Gennin.
Anemone wasn't happy with her life as Anemone.
She knew her father was gone to who knows were. She knew that her father was once a powerful person, but to disappear like that…
Anemone's mother was resentful to her father. Something happened in the past that made her that way. Even towards her, she was cold. Anemone loved her mother with all her heart, but it didn't seem mutual.
Behind the façade of a happy and warm person, Anemone knew her mother didn't love her.
That lack of love, Anemone deduced after a long time, came from her hate of the Coralians.
Anemone's mother hated Coralians with all her heart.
Being part Coralian didn't help her case at all.
But Anemone always has tried to reach toward her mother, to please her, to make her happy
To make her love her
Anemone was so absorbed in her that she didn't realize that she arrived to her home.
"I'm home, Sensei!"
Nobody answered
To be expected.
She walked past the living room to the office that used to be of her father.
She didn't get to open as her enhanced senses heard some voices speaking
"… Do whatever you want…"
"… Are you sure? It's a dangerous move…"
"… My contacts said to have seen those two…"
"… Even so, is it worth it?"
"… I want to eliminate that lineage… The Zita must die…"
"… I'll see what I can do, Kushina…"
Anemone heard some movement sounds and she retreated as if she was just arriving.
The door opened and from there, a man she knew as Novak Dewey came out. The second in command nodded to her and left the house.
"Sensei?"
"I told you to don't call me that here, Ane-Chan" Kushina said with a forced smile.
"As you say… mom"

Shikamaru sighed for an umpteenth time in the last five minutes as he relaxed under the tree of the park.
'What a troublesome speech…'
Shikamaru, as not many of his peers, didn't like 'The Leader'. Next to him stood Choji, Ino and Shino.
The four of them were friends since the academy days. Usually they would have been five, but one of their friends 'disappeared'. That's what everyone said, but after the Uchiha massacre, Sasuke has been a little resentful to the village. That he disappeared the day after he 'declared' his dislike to the village.
That dislike, was passed onto his friends as they suspected that the government made him disappear.
The little group stood in the park as they relaxed. They heard the speech of the mysterious leader which actually preoccupied them.
"This is going too far…" Shikamaru sighed "How troublesome…"
"Shaddap! Troublesome! That's all you say! Troublesome is your whining!" Shouted Ino to her friend "Though I agree with you…"
Choji chuckled at his friend's antics and kept eating while Shino adjusted his glasses, covering his smile with his coat.
"You know it's true… that's enough for me. You could be like the others…"
They knew who he was talking about. Most of the population followed blindly what 'The Leader' told them and it included a great part of their graduation group. What is supposed to be called Rookie Nine is actually separated in two sides, one with the Alliance and the other the 'resistance'. Its cliché, but they knew where they stood.
Shikamaru was the first to question the true nature of this 'Alliance' and soon followed Choji, Shino and Sasuke. As Ino was still in her fan girl times, she followed Sasuke to wherever he went, though she eventually understood what they stood for and formally joined them.
As they're still Gennin, they can't do anything about is, though Shikaku, Shikamaru's father hinted that the resistance existed, though he didn't say it out loud.
The group of friends got together as much as they could, mostly to let out frustrations regarding the village and the alliance.
"So… Shino, did your team get called for the Chunnin Exams?"
Shino nodded and spoke calmly "Yes, Kurenai-Sensei told us we were ready, though seeing Hinata's shyness and Kiba's rash attitudes, I wouldn't put it past the leader to pull the strings in this case. We are not ready. As a team, we can go right to the finals, but as individuals, they're not Chunnin material…" Shino adjusted his glasses and asked back "You were nominated I guess…"
"Asuma-sensei says we should give it a shot… though I'm not fond of fighting strong people…" Choji commented between munches.
"Yeah… Anemone's team is participating… I don't want to go against Wonder Girl…" Ino added her two cents.
Anemone Namikaze is known in Konoha as the indisputable top Gennin. She's Jounin material, but her rank and age didn't let her advance.
"This is going to be a massacre…" Shikamaru finally got up "They obviously want to show the world whose top dog, Konoha… ugh now I'm using Inuzuka's metaphors…"
With that said, he left the clearing, leaving a thoughtful group of teenagers. With nothing left to say, Shino broke the ice "Troublesome indeed…"

October 25th - ? - ?
"So… can you tell me again how you ended up here?"
Sasuke was not a happy camper. He sat in front of the campfire of a person he didn't recognize.
Sasuke awoke half an hour ago to see a man who was in his fifties. Apparently he washed up in the coast of Mizu no Kuni. His 505 nowhere to be seen. Then again there wasn't much to recover…
"I don't know"
"Kid you're not fooling anyone" The man pointed to Sasuke's shirt "It has the Uchiha's crest"
Sasuke tensed at the mention of his family name, but the man waved him.
"Not interested in killing you or taking you to Konoha" To prove it, he threw his kunai pouch to the side "Ready to cooperate?"
Sasuke still looked at the man with a fierce glare.
"I know you work for Gekko-State" Sasuke's gaped in shock "I have my contacts, kid"
"Who are you?"
"Oh~ Now you want to know who I am?" There was a puff of smoke "I'll do as you say! I will introduce myself!"
Sasuke gaped seeing the man, who five minutes ago was truly serious, doing a kabuki dance over a toad.
"I'm the hermit of Mt. Myoboku! A sage like no other! The babies cry in happiness at seeing me! The women swoon at my presence! East and west they fear me! North and south they respect me! I'm the herald of the toads! Jiraiya, the gallant!"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"… You're not saying anything?"
Sasuke by his side was having a mental shutdown. 'It was terrible! Who the hell does this guy think he is!?" Finally after five minutes of silence, Sasuke reacted.
"Where do you think you're going?!" Jiraiya yelled at the Uchiha
"Far away from you!" Shouted back "Least your idiocy is contagious!"
Sasuke left the clearing and Jiraiya shrugged "He'll come back… they always do…" Meanwhile, he had other things running in his mind 'Better follow him… we are dangerously close to Kiri…'

October 25th – Hozuki Castle - Kusagakure
"Why are they keeping us here…"
That was a very good question. Everyone questioned that.
After the Coralian imploded, they tried to recover the Nirvash, which proved impossible as they were cornered by every ship available in the float.
Holland and Moondogie fought of the ships while standing on the Gecko-Go. Holland's use of his sword let him do so. Moondogie's manipulation of the wind was unmatched. They made a good fight, but it wasn't enough.
The END was still there and not even using the 606 or the 808 proved useful.
They boarded them, they took them in and now here they were.
Gecko-State was finished.
Or so they thought.
They thought they were going to be dead by this point.
"Why do they want us alive?"
"What do they want to prove?"
"Are they going to let us die rotting in this hellhole?"
Too many questions and no answers.
Talho knew she could break out of this place with only a jutsu, but she knew that the Chakra Seal didn't let her mould it properly.
"We can only wait for now…"
Holland turned to look at her "They want to prove a point. They will probably execute us in front of the big bad crowd"
"The Chunnin Exams are coming soon…" Talho realized
"That's our deadline… literally"
They fell in silence. They took them for 'interrogation', but, obviously, they didn't get anything.
Steps caught their attention and the owner soon revealed himself.
"How are you, Holland?"
Said person growled at the person in front of him. Talho looked upset about seeing this man.
"No greetings? It's alright I guess, after all I'm not greeting you as well… I'm butt a clone after all"
They stood in silence until the person broke the silence once again
"Where is the Zita?
No answer
"I don't want to do this…" In a swift motion, the man drew his sword and slashed at Holland's right arm through the bars.
"AHHH!"
"Holland!"
Talho held the younger Novak I her arms as said man cried out in pain.
"You're a monster Dewey!" She shouted at the now revealed Dewey.
The man adjusted his hat and smirked "The world made me like that…"

Kakashi stood in a bar in a town in Iwa no Kuni. Looking at the drink he has in his hands, he remembered the last bit of information his contact gave him before vanishing into thin air.
-Flashback-
"Dog, the situation is quite messy in Amegakure"
"How so?" Kakashi hid his face behind a dog shaped mask and a cloak. The rain pelted against said cloak. He didn't like it, but the situation demanded it.
"Even with my stealth and infiltration techniques I barely made it inside this village. Couldn't stay long. They noticed me. I had to retreat to the mount."
"That bad, huh?"
"Yes, though I managed to gather some bits of information" He pulled out an angel made of paper "It seems Hanzo is dead"
Kakashi's eyes widened "What?!"
"I thought the same. Hanzo was a hard nut to crack, even in his old days. The thing is, that a 'god' replaced him"
"I only recognize one as god and that's death…" Kakashi shook his head "What about their position?"
"Neutral. They didn't sign the Alliance. I'm afraid that things will get difficult there" The man sighed "I'll make a formal visit to the leader of Amegakure, to see what I can get or even if I can meet him or her"
Kakashi nodded "Take care. Keep in touch"
"That I will do"
-Flashback End-
Kakashi sighed. The man is very trusty. To have disappeared like that is VERY suspicious.
He got up and paid for the sake.
Walking down the street, he saw many things. Thieves, Prostitutes, Police Officers, corrupt obviously, Homeless People, Mobsters and many other things that should not be there, only made his posture stronger.
The Alliance was only leading the elemental nations a new era of decadence.
Peace will never exist in this world.
That's what made Kakashi actually defected Konohagakure. In the eyes of the world, he's a missing-nin.
And so, after seeing some Iwagakure shinobis eyeing him, he decided to leave the town. Better to fight away from the civilians.
Kakashi finally reached the limits of the town when his path was blocked.
"Kakashi-san! Why escape from us when we ant just to talk? We were just…"
'Three shinobi. Chunnin at best. The first one, big, probably the powerhouse of the team. Way to counter, Genjutsu. The one in the middle, thin, but very well trained. Obviously trained in speed over everything, calloused fingers and slightly burned clothes, might be trying to practice fire jutsu. Best counter, Sharingan and water jutsu. Last one, a woman, nothing special physically, must be a Ninjutsu user or a Genjutsu user… yes a Genjutsu user, already dispelled it, very obvious. Treat with caution though…
"… and so we are going to capture you!"
"Uhm sorry, did you say something?" Kakashi prickled his ear to let their guard down.
The big guy did and Kakashi exploded into action as he closed the distance with the Iwa Shinobi while looking at him in the eyes.
Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu!
The big guy fell to the floor screaming while grabbing his head.
"Nate! Damn! Shiro catch him!" The thin one shouted.
Shiro shook her head "It's no use. He dispelled my first Genjutsu and now he had his Sharingan eye revealed" She smirked at him "I told you, you were biting more than you can chew, Hiroshi-Chan…"
"Shut up! I'll get him myself" The now named Hiroshi ran after Kakashi and plunged a kunai in his chest, only to phase through him "Wha-?!"
"Kamui" Kakashi chopped the Iwa-nin in the neck and he fell limp to the floor. He turned to look at the woman in the group and asked "Anything to add?"
"No way, mate" a silver glint behind her revealed a shadow clone behind her with a kunai "I still want to live, so…"
"I'll leave you unconscious and when you wake up, you will not remember anything…" He got close to her and spoke "But before that, what is a patrol actually doing here, doesn't seem something the Alliance would do… after all with all this peace…"
"Ha, like I will tell you… that is the cliché phrase anyone would say, but I appreciate my life…" She lost her confident air and sighed "There's going to be something big happening somewhere here… we don't know what, but we were told to kill all the people who tries to leave the town"
"Why is this town important?" Kakashi asked himself "It's corrupt beyond beliefs, probably has deals with the Alliance… I'll have to investigate further…"
He used his Sharingan to put the woman under sleep and left without leaving a trail.

After watching the perturbing news, Naruto had only one thing to say "No way…"
Obito and Rin turned to the newly arrived Naruto and the former asked "Huh, You're awake?"
"Yeah. Who're you?"
"I'm Obito and this…" He gestured with his hands in an overly exaggerated way at Rin "…is my beautiful and utterly sexy wife, Rin!"
Naruto looked at the man and couldn't help but sweat drop, and even more when said man was slapped by his wife for doing that, again. "Can you tell me where I am?"
"Where in the middle of Hi no Kuni in a little small town!" Then he looked at Naruto seriously and said "Considering we took you and your girlfriend when you both needed it the most, the least you could do is to tell us your name"
Naruto nodded and answered "I'm Naruto, and… EH!? EUREKA IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!" He blushed hardly at the thought 'NO NARUTO BAD THOUGHTS!'
In Obito's and Rin's head something clicked and easily recognized the teen in front of them. They showed shock, but to cover it, Rin quickly smirked and decided to tease him further with a sing sang voice "Really? When Obito found you two, you were all over her…"
And so, Naruto promptly passed out.
"He's not very resistant" Obito laughed.
"He would not have survived Kushina in the old days…" Rin started but then frowned at the end. "What are we going to do?"
"Train them, obviously" Obito crossed his arms and sighed. "If they want to rescue those Gekko-whatever, they're going to need to be strong, both of them"
"Kakashi told us he needs training. At most he can take on a high-Chunnin shinobi" Rin added as an afterthought. "To think he would arrive to our own step door"
"Rin, things are getting out of control… we might need to step in…" Obito growled at the mere idea of returning to be a shinobi.
"We might not like it, but we have someone to fight for… unlike last time…"
"Very true"

October 26th – Ocean – From Mizu no Kuni to Hi no Kuni
"So you're saying you're going to train me?"
"I believe I did say that"
Sasuke stared at Jiraiya and sighed. After explaining the circumstances, Jiraiya told him of the fate of the Gekko State and his missing teammates of Team Holland. He knew he had to become stronger, to protect his teammates. 'I'm not letting IT happen again' after some minutes he sighed "What can you train me in?"
"Oh~ interested are you?" Begrudgingly, Sasuke nodded at the toad sage. "Well, I have a good hand at fire jutsu and earth jutsu. My taijutsu is a good way of fighting, so I will teach you some moves. Work on what you know will help. And accustom you to stop using that Sharingan of yours"
Now Sasuke's pride was hit "What's with my Sharingan?"
"The problem is that most Uchiha's viewed the Sharingan as their way of fighting instead of what it is, a tool to take advantage of the situation" Jiraiya sighed, seeing as Sasuke still didn't get the point. "Catch this"
Jiraiya lashed at Sasuke's stomach with a strong fist. Sasuke fell down gasping for air.
"Did you see that?"
Sasuke glared at Jiraiya.
"Now activate your eyes"
Sasuke did so and the next punch he saw it a mile away, but when he went to block, his body didn't respond, and so he was punched once again, harder.
"Did you see that?" Jiraiya chuckled "Of course you saw that. Your eyes saw that"
Sasuke recovered enough to retort "What of that?"
"If you were to be able to catch my fist with your hand without your Sharingan, what will you be able to do if you use it?"
Understanding fell over Sasuke like a sack of potatoes in his head… literally.
"Now start peeling potatoes! We have to win our free ride!"
"Stingy Old Man…"
"Everything but stingy old man! I would prefer perverted old man! No slash the old! I'm quite youthful…" Jiraiya paled and so did Sasuke "I didn't meant it that way"
"There's no way back from that, old man"

October 26th – Kusa no Kuni
"YOSH! SOMEONE JUST BECAME 100% MORE YOUTHFUL! LEE! WE WILL DO ONE HUNDRED LAPS AROUND THIS MOUNTAIN!"
"YOSH! GAI-SENSEI! WHAT A YOUTHFUL WAY OF CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF A YOUTHFUL SOUL!"
They ran away.
Neji and Tenten sighed in exasperation.
"I don't understand those two…"
"Me neither, Tenten, me neither…" He took out a map and sighed "Where did Kakashi-san told us to meet him?"
"Don't know, their youthfulness were guiding us" She said sarcastically, though it was enough to summon THEM again.
"MY YOUTHFUL TEAMMATES, JOIN US IN THIS BURNING ENDEAVOR!"
Tenten cried anime tears "What did I do to deserve this?!"
Neji meanwhile 'Has Fate decreed that I will live like this?!'

"Things seem to go well here, Sensei"
"Is he going to execute them in the Chunnin Exams?"
"Most likely. The Leader is out at his moment, though he left Novak in charge. I cannot move at the moment as I was assigned to protect Anemone. She will be safe"
"Excellent the Coralians must be protected above anything. That you harvest some feelings for her only makes your task easier…"
"N-No. I'm always professional in her presence"
"I figure… The Coralians must be protected. They are sent to protect us… you remember right?"
"The elemental nations don't have salvation, I know. They spit on everything we stand for. The Vodarac will rise again, and the Coralian will guide us to the Promised Land…"
"You're doing us a great service, Dominic, make us proud"
Dominic Sorel nodded as he hung the private line for his telephone "I know Sensei… but I'm not going to let anything happen to Anemone… not even from you" He got up and prepared for work. They did want him to be on time for this.
