And I'm back with another chapter of 'Lost In Timeless Horizons'! :D I'm really happy people took their time to leave a review. You are very sweet and your comments are appreciated XD
ENOUGH TIME WASTED!
It's time for the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Once Upon A Time (If I did peter pan would've stayed alive! AND would've come back to terrorize Storybrooke! XD) Or any of the original characters, I only own my OC Emily and her background story.
- Normal P.O.V. -
One would find it quite hard to believe that there could be found any sort of place where one could come to take a break from everything happening in Neverland. Sure, with the Lost Boys terrorizing the island under the command of non other than Peter Pan himself and the natives who cause uproars as an answer to unfair treatment, land would be no option to take a moment for yourself and set your mind at ease!
The coast and the lagoons are out of the question either, unless you want to take the risk of of being ambushed by the infamous Neverland mermaids or a giant squid that tends to be a little agressive at times and lets not forget about our lovely friends the monstrously large sharks that roam around either! No, the best place you could get would be in the wide open sea, as far away from the island as possible but still close enough to keep it in sight.
Not everyone would know this, but when one looses sight of the island it disappears from your sight for good, just like how Pan has the power to move his camp in the blink of an eye to any place on the island he desires. Neverland itself has the nasty habbit to leave behind any poor lost soul that disappears behind its horizon. That pretty much leaves them to float around in the infinite sea that surrounds Neverland and either starve or drown to death, never catching a glimpse of land ever again.
This also counts for any living being haunting the dark bottom, that's why most of them stick around the coasts, and that's also why the most peacefull place is at sea, not too far away but not too close either. The only one who could find you there would be Pan's shadow, but he wont show up during the day.
But don't let yourself get fooled by the peacefull reflection of the ocean, 'cause underneath the surface, all the way down into the dark heart off the biggest sea of all realms, is where Neverland keeps some of its darkest secrets.
Spread on the ocean bed, covered with algae and many other stuff, is a fine collection of ancient shipwrecks. Some contained valuable treasures that perished in the salt water, others were simple tradeships containing spices or cotton and there had also been one slaveship, but no one spoke about that incident anymore. There was a pirate ship or two and even a very modern speedboat, although this one was unmanned and came with no keys or any other way to start it, so it was labeled 'useless'.
(Can you imagine it? Pan on a speedboat?! XD I'm laughing my ass off right now)
A giant hammerhead swam by, fleeing into the safety of the darkness that's slowly pulling back as a little, silver colored orb of light materialized in the middle of the circle of wrecks, softly illuminating the darkness. The water and all its inhabitants grew restless as the little sphere of light began to grow, the light intensiffying as every living being in a radius of fifty feet swam away in a hurry, trying to get as far away as possible as they sensed something big was comming.
And as the, once small, orb began to grow in size in quite a rapid pace did the water around it start to move in a circular motion, creating a whirlpool that soon reached the surface and was already twenty feet wide and only grew in size. It was like a huge foaming mouth had appeared in the midst of the seas, raging wild among the waves and emerald green in color while an eery light shone from the bottom.
There was a flash of black, red and white amongst the green and a loud echo-like howl came from the vortex that was now over a hundred feet long and the Jolly Roger rose from the depths only a few moments later. Its nose straight up in the air as it showed its keel before it crashed back down onto the, now, normal waves. The portal had closed even quicker than it had opened and not even a single trace could be seen.
The ship let out a wooden groan as it rocked from side to side, getting adjusted to the rithem of the unknown tide while the six passengers were swaying back and forth on deck. All of them blinking furiously against the bright sunlight taunting their eyes while they held onto whatever they could find to keep them from falling flat on their pretty little faces.
If you'd ask them, they'd say that it would never happen. If you told them, they would never believe you. Because where in the world, where in any of the other realms would you find a party more unusual, more different from one another in both nature and goals and more dedicated to get something back that they love? The answer is nowhere, nowhere else would you find a pirate with a drinking problem, a prince with a kingdom in ruins, a princess with a heart that no longer matches the purity of her given name, an evil queen trying to do the good thing but falling back time after time, a savior with regrets and a Dark One with big time family issues on one deck willing to cooperate.
After a few moments later when everyone had refound their balance and could stand up and walk around without falling a beautiful woman with short, ebony black hair, skin as fair and white as freshly fallen snow and lips as red as blood walked over to the rail. Her hands clenched around the wooden railing as she took a little closer look at the misterious island in front of her.
"That's it, right? Neverland." She asked to a very handsome man who came to stand next to her. He gently put his arm around her shoulder. This could be non other than prince Charming, even though he was long married and had a daughter who had her own kis, the titel 'prince' never really left. She took a deep breath trying to gather courage for the words she was about to say next. "And.. Emily is there... somewhere."
"She'll be fine, Snow." Charming assured her, and he gave her an encouraging squeeze as if telling her not to give up just yet, and that earned him a thankfull smile from his wife. "You raised a smart and strong willed daughter! So don't worry about her, she'll manage perfectly on her own!"
"I just hope you're right," She said to him before she turned her gaze back to the island. In all those years she had taken care of Emily, as if she was her very own flesh and blood, Snow had tried her best to teach her everything she would need when she would start standing on her own two legs. But in all of those years, those sixteen beautiful years they had gotten to share with each other, she had never expected or hoped that she would have to prepare her for.
And that was having to face Peter Pan!
- Emily P.O.V. -
I saw how Pan's fist was clenched tightly around the arrow Henry had just shot at him. I blinked once, I blinked twice and even a third time before it got through to me what he had just done. I took a deep breath, watching Pan very closely, if he would make even the smallest movement towards Henry he would have me to answer to!
Not that it would be quite a fair conversation seeming as I was still tied to a freaking tree! I started squirming and gave a few firm tugs on the ropes that started to cut my skin quite painfully, I bit my lip trying not to wince or make any other sound at all!
"Okay Emily," I thought to myself and let my chin rest on my chest. "Focus! But if only I could reach the knot!"
"I'm tired!" I heard Henry say. "I'm tired of being here in Neverland!
I looked back up looking from Henry to Pan and back to the kid. They were looking fiercly at each other, Henry's eyes were filled with angre but with slight boredom and exhaustion as well while Pan's eyes were simply filled with mere interest and a tiny hint of... sadness?
"I'm sorry you feel that way Henry," He said almost in an appologetic way.
I fumbled furiously with the ropes trying desperately to get to the knot, but with the little moving space and absolutely zero vision on what I was supposed to concentrate on, I was given quite a hard time on trying to free myself. I started to feel slightly irritated and it was soon followed by angre, I felt a heat rush through my body all the way from my toes to the tips of my fingers and when I touched the knot with my index finger the ropes disappeared into thin air!
I looked at my wrists and saw that the fiery red streaks and small abrasions slowly started to heal, leaving no trace of any kind of wound whatsoever!
"Get her out!" Pan ordered, he sounded a little pissed. And I looked back up again, two tall Lost Boys were comming at me again, both looking a little bewildered. I could almost read their thoughts, for they were written all over their faces.
Wasn't she tied up just a moment ago?
How I had done it, I had no idea. And whatever Pan was planning to do with Henry, I'd probably find out later.
...
Remember how I'd thought of Pan to be kind when I first met him? Scratch that! I was starting to think that he'd made it a task for himself every day to think of as many ways as possible that would make his guests feel as uncomfortable as possible! And I'm not the kind of person to hate someone that quickly, it would take alot of effort to get me to really dispise you.
Because of this, I've only ever truly hated about three people! But when you've actually proven yourself to be nothing more but a horrible person and a pain in the ass, you'll almost literally cross over to the dark side of my mind and you'll not make the return trip that easily!
Pan was getting dangerously close to that boarderline at the moment!
Because when he orders his Lost Boys to take someone away from him it can mean a single trip towards the lovely, lovely cages he apparantly designed himself or being chained to one of his beloved trees. I was saved from the cages, but that could only mean I was going to have a date with a nice, old oak tree.
They slammed me against the tree, knocking all air out of my lungs, and forced my arms over my head and clasping cold iron shackles around my only just healed wrists.
"These'll stop her from escaping for a while," One of the boys said as they walked away.
"How d'you think she did it?" The other asked. "You know, the ropes. They were gone I tell you!"
"I don't really know," The other answered as they glanced over their shoulders at me.
"You don't reckon she can do magic do you?"
"No, girls are too stupid to do magic!"
I'd loved to tell them otherwise, but they disappeared from my sight and I couldn't really prove I could do magic. I was just a normal girl, I couldn't do any magic! Could I?
"Maybe..." I wondered. "If I try it again, but what exactly did I do?"
I retraced my steps, trying to find anything that might look even a little bit magical, but found nothing! Had it even been magic? Maybe it was something else, or maybe I didn't actually do it myself. But if it wasn't me, then who was? I couldn't stop wondering about it, ofcourse I'd seen magic before, I blame Regina and Gold for it, but doing something magical yourself is a whole other question and something I couldn't remember of doing so.
"It's just stupid," I muttered. "Magic's just stupid..."
"Oh on the contrary!" A familiar voice said from behind the tree, I didn't need to see his face to know who he was. After all, who else talks with a brittish accent on this godforsaken island? Yet it was that voice, no rather the owner of it, that made me tense up and left my mind restless and on edge. He stepped around the trunk and came into my sight field, his trade-mark smirk plastered on his face and one of his eyebrows raised in fascination. "Magic is anything but stupid, in fact, it can be a very powerfull thing in the right hands."
"Is that so.." I said, growing painfully aware of the possition I was currently in! With my hands tied above my head and freakin' Peter Pan in front of me, left me with almost to no space to move at all.
Pan, who caught notion of my discomfort immediately, came slightly closer to me.
"I can tell," He said in a low voice. "You can too, you've seen alot of magic lately, right? From the Evil Queen I assume, and the Dark One too. Those two throw alot of precious magic around but mostly at each other!"
"And where, if I may ask... did you get that knowledge?" I asked and shivered when his right hand slightly brushed my waistline.
He leaned in a little closer to whisper in my ear. "I have my means love," He chuckled when I shivered as he stroke my waist again, making small circling motions as he went. "Getting a little sensitive are we?"
"Get off." I said, but it came out in a mere whisper.
"You don't mean that," He simply replied with a smirk. "I can hear your heartbeat from miles away."
"Get off!" I said with a little more volume and I managed to say it without trembling. "I mean it!"
"Or else what?" Pan asked with a slightly mocking tone, but he backed off anyway. "Shoot your magic at me?"
"I don't have magic," I replied.
"Oh really?" He asked, his eyebrows slightly raised and a dark, slightly interested glint in his green eyes. "Then how would you explain that little trick of yours?"
I had no answer or any kind of explanation whatsoever to offer to him, thus making magic the only reasonable and believable option so far. But another reason why that was impossible was because I had never thought about, or even believed in the very existence of magic. Even after everyone, except for me for some odd reason, had gotten their memories back when Emma had lifted the curse from Storybrooke.
There were also a few people who, to many's disbelieve, could perform a couple of magical tricks after Rumpelstiltskin, or the Dark One as some would call him, had brought magic to the new land. I wasn't one of them, I'd tried, but had failed miserably. Regina had once told me that one would be able to use magic when it would be their time and not to try to hard or pounder about it for too long.
Besides magic did not seem to be all that great either, especially after I had heard everyone else's stories about the misery it had brought upon them.
Pan seemed to grow both tired and impatient of my awkward silence because his facial expression turned into a slightly annoyed and angered one. He took a few steps back and turned his back on me.
"You know what I told Henry?"
"What?" I asked dumbly, cursing myself for getting distracted by old memories.
He sighed, slightly annoyed by my short focus. "I said, do you know what I told Henry?"
"Actually no, I did not." I threw back. "Your lovely Lost Boys dragged me out of the scene when things got interesting."
He turned back, hands folded and both index-fingers touching his lips, as if motioning me to keep quiet.
"He said he grew tired of me and Neverland, a shame if I say so myself," He said and faked a hurt expression. "But, I wanted him on my island for a reason, and I don't want all my effort to be in vain and just let the kid go. So I told him, the little fella, that I've been waiting for too long to let him go just like that!"
"Then what do you need him for?"
"I need him to save magic," He replied. "Henry is the only one who can save magic, which is dying in other worlds, because there is no believe. And he is the only one who believes strong enough to save it from extinction. You see, Henry is the rare product of light and dark, seeming as his grandmother is none other than your "mother" Snow White and his grandfather the infamous Dark One."
"But how exactly, are you going to plan on doing that?" I asked, not liking the fact that he needed the kid that desperately. "How is he supposed to save magic in the other worlds when he himself is here where there's more than enough magic?"
He smirked, a dangerous glint in his eyes that looked much like faint interest. I felt his burning gaze going up and down my body, he was examining me, I hated it because it left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and self-conscious underneath that heavy, glare-like gaze of his. His eyes caught mine and his smirk turned into a cheeky grin. He turned his back on me again and started to walk away.
"Hey!" I called after him. "Where are you going?"
"Why? Don't you want me to leave?" He asked in a mocking tone.
"As a matter of fact! I don't give a damn about where you're going or where you stay, I do care about the fact that you're leaving me imprisoned AGAIN!" I threw back, angered but also slightly embarassed. "You have to untie me!"
"As a matter of fact," He parroted. "I don't have to do anything, so I must do nothing! Just in case you've forgotten love, I'm Peter Pan. And I can do whatever I want!"
OKEY the end of the fourth chapter!
There seems to be a little questioning about Snow being Emily's mom. (just in case non of you noticed, if that's true I made a small spoiler XD)
Peter seems to get interested in Emily, woohoo! XD
Are you gonna be sweet again and leave me some reviews?
Love you all! Bye bye
