Chapter 4
Natsu stood still, his attention focused below as Erza drew her number.
"You got one, how lucky" said Cana but Erza shook her head as she walked up to Pandemonium's steps.
"Set up all 100" said the swordswoman as she walked opened the doors and strode down the main hall.
"It's not set up for that" said the pumpkin headed man.
"Oh well" said Erza as she summoned her Heart Kreuz sword and stopped in the center floor that connected to multiple halls. As soon as the first monster charged they all converged on her position, going in for the kill as one pack. For the next ten minutes she switched out her armor and weapons flawlessly to suit the battle style of the monsters she fought. After an excruciating last challenge by fighting off the only S-rank monster she won. Erza slowly walked through the long hallway and stood at the top of the stair she climbed only a few minutes ago. Using what little strength she had left she raised her lone katana in the air and the arena erupted in cheers. She let her sword disappear and descended the steps but as she hit the third step her legs gave out, sending her falling forward. Quicker than anyone expected Natsu appeared in front of her, catching her mid fall as Laxus stood to his side. Natsu picked her up and carried her bridal style as he descended the steps and walked pasted other competitors. He nodded too Jura who nodded back but as he glanced around the stand he noticed a woman carrying a wrapped sword glaring at him, or specifically Erza. Natsu being the only one to notice and the only one to make eye contact glared back at her, his magical power leaking out a bit as he did. Whatever that did made her flinch and Natsu was pleased with his threat so he faced forward again as they entered the tunnel.
"You did amazing" said Natsu and Erza smiled.
"It could have been better" said Erza and Laxus chuckled.
"Yeah, and I'm a wizard saint. You did amazingly well while using only weapons. I don't think anyone can match that if they tried to use what you did."
"Laxus is right, you are one of the few that uses only weapons. That shows your ability to change seamlessly and the skill you possess over all of them" said Natsu before they arrived at the medical wing and set Erza down.
"Rest for now, the thunder god tribe will watch over you until you can move around properly" said Laxus before he and Natsu walked out.
"Laxus, we need to talk for a moment" said Natsu and Laxus gulped, the fire dragon slayers expression was much too serious for his liking.

No one in Fairy Tail moved, they held with baited breath as they watched Laxus was beaten while giving no resistance. Mira was nearly on the verge of tears as she watched, something Natsu saw and noted but he was not going to bring that up now. He couldn't, he had to fix this 'fight' and help his friend out.
"Laxus!" Natsu shouted from above, getting odd looks from the others.
"Stop playing games behind all this trash and wake up! Embrace that deep rumbling within you, don't force it down like you have for all these years! Let lose Laxus, show the world what a true lightning dragon slayer can do!" shouted Natus before a large spark ran around the edge of the arena floor. Only a few noticed it but no one besides Natsu knew what that meant.
Then, for only an instant, did everyone see the true terror that was Laxus. In a flash the entire arena lit up in nothing but pure lightning before it all vanished, leaving only Laxus standing and the entire Twilight Orge guild unmoving before him. Another shocking turn of events was the bloodthirsty smirk Laxus wore, a smirk no one had ever seen him wear before. Just as soon as they saw his smirk it disappeared and he left, the announcers voice in finally coming in.
"By a shocking turn of events Laxus of Fairy Tail Team B has defeated all of Team Raventail and its leader Ivan!" Natsu disappeared when he noticed Laxus walk off and confronted him inside the tunnel where the contestants entered the arena.
"That power, it was unlike any I've ever used before. I…..I had that power inside of me all along?" asked Laxus, looking at his hands.
"Yes, all dragon slayers do but embracing that side his not something you can do easily. Once you do your emotions become a strong factor within your power so be careful. If you get angry your lighting will react, power comes at a cost."
"Besides all of this, have you talked to that person about what you told me?" asked Laxus, getting quieter as he did.
Natsu shook his head "I will soon, everything will play into motion then. After that I have a feeling things will begin to change." Laxus nodded his head before following the fire dragon slayer back up the stairs, taking his standing just behind him as Wendy and Chelia stood facing one another in the arena.
"Wendy VS Chelia begin!" shouted the pumpkin man before the two charged one another. From the beginning Wendy showed to have a good reaction time compared to Chelia but her attacks were not as strong as the sky god slayers magic. What Natsu, and now Laxus, noticed was how she looked while fighting. Almost as if…..as if she was holding back against her opponent in some way.
"Wendy! Don't be afraid of what you're feeling! Embrace it, let that energy flow through you and reach your true potential" said Natsu. Wendy paused and looked to him, her face showing a moment of curiosity as Chelia's magic enhanced leg neared her head. As it neared her Wendy seemed to change briefly and her power surged outward before she moved. The sky dragon slayer grabbed her opponent's ankle and swung her down, slamming the girl into the ground hard enough to shake the floor but she wasn't finished yet. The bluenette tightened her grip, fracturing the pink haired girls ankle before swinging her over head and across the arena only for her to slam into the wall adjacent to Wendy.
The stadium was almost dead silent, even the ever stoic Kaguya and Minerva seemed speechless at what transpired. The once timid and weak girl just displayed a ruthless side in the blink of an eye, only after just having her power surge dramatically. Chelia felt her wounds begin to heal as she removed herself from the wall, her ankle already healed but still slightly sore.
'What in god's name was that just now? She was so…so meek until that boy spoke and she just snapped. I need to be more careful, she's not the same opponent anymore' thought Chelia before the dust cleared and her belief was confirmed. The sky dragon slayer no longer had that determined look a child wore when trying to concentrate on an extremely hard task. No, now she wore a confident smirk only those seeking battle wore and her stance differed as well. She didn't have that common defensive stance but an offensive one. Hands to her sides, tensed slightly as if she had claws, one leg back and her head and midsection low to move quickly against any attack.
"What's wrong? Scared?" asked Wendy, tilting her head a bit as her smirk grew. Chelia frowned, not an upset frown but a downright pissed frown. That girl had the gal to think she could take her on, with no training for seven years and inferior magic! How dare she!? Chelia shot off like a bat out of hell, intent on crushing her opponent using magic enhanced moves. The first attack Wendy saw coming from a mile away, a basic right hand punch to the face which she easily leaned to dodge but that was what Chelia wanted. As soon as Wendy leaned she brought her left leg up, intent on smashing that girls nose in for looking at her like that. What almost no one knew was with Wendy's new heightened power she was much more in tune with the wind and she 'felt' ,per say, Chelia's leg move up. As soon as she did Wendy jumped up and spun in mid air just a few feet above Chelia with her spell to decrease wind resistance around her body which allowed her to spin even faster. The pink haired girl didn't have time to react, her right leg was barely touching the ground when she noticed Wendy's leg outstretch and scream down upon her head. The blow hit hard, much harder than any Wendy delivered before, slamming her opponents entire body into the ground once again except this time causing the ground to crack under the pressure but Wendy wasn't finished.
Just as she had completed her attack Wendy stopped, facing Chelia in mid air before opening her mouth.
"Tenryū no Hōkō(Sky dragon's roar!)" shouted Wendy as she unleashed a defestating attack up close to her target. Being air born the attack shot her up into the sky, her body now almost reaching the top of the arena and she peered down when she felt a spike in magical energy.
"This was fun and all but I've got enough magic for one final attack so let's see you dodge this!" shouted Chelia as magic swirled around her arms, ignoring the cries of her guild mates telling her too stop.
"Amatsu no Murakumo(Heavenly gathering of clouds!)" shouted Chelia as she thrust her hands forward and a torrent of black feathers spiraled towards Wendy and frightening speed. As they did one move came to mind, one she learned as a child.
Flashback
"Now child, remember how I spoke of what a true dragon slayer is?" asked Grandeen and Wendy nodded her head.
"There are a few offensive spells that are much more devastating once you become one but there is one defensive spell that is much stronger than any other like it. It's called-"
End flashback
"Tenryu no Mugen-kyū(Sky dragons infinite sphere!)" shouted Wendy as she thrust her arms outwards. The wind all around the arena seemed to bend to her will, rushing towards her and encompassing her inside a sphere made out of continuously moving wind around fifteen feet in diameter. However, as quick as the moved were created then collided, sending a massive wave of wind bursting throughout the arena. The gale force winds caused many to shield their eyes until it had died down and the dust settled to a sight few expected.
Both dragon and god slayer alike stood on the ground, neither moving until Chelia spoke.
"I have to say, that was not what I was expecting" before she fell to her knees and the announcer spoke.
"Oh my the winner is Wendy Marvel from Fairy Tail!" The bluenette slowly moved to Chelia before extending her hand towards her, confusing the girl.
"That was an amazing fight you gave me! We should do it again but next time, as friends and not enemies!" said Wendy with a toothy grin mimicked by Chelia who took her hand.
"Agreed!"
In the stands with Fairy Tail
"I can't believe you told her to do that!" shouted Charlie at Natsu.
"She needed to embrace it one way or another, besides that side of her wouldn't come out unless she was really pushed in a fight. It's a side dragon's and dragon slayers alike have and it only appears when one is truly pushed in a battle like she was" said Natsu. The exceed huffed and walked off to talk to the girl, hoping Natsu was right.
"Mira, may I talk to you outside please?" asked Natsu, the silver haired girl nodded her head in confusion before following him, only Natsu noticing Laxus sneak away.
Outside the arena, secluded area of the park
"You know, you're not good at hiding things" said Natsu, surprising Mira.
"If it's about my power you know I don't like to-" she stopped when Natsu held up his hand.
"It has nothing to do with that at all, what I speak of pertains to Laxus…..and you." As soon as those words left his mouth Mira stiffed and her face seemed as though she had seen a ghost.
"I….I…."
The fire dragon slayer sighed "I know your feelings for me were nothing more than an fleeting crush, something that came and went, only resurfacing briefly when I regained my memories. However, the feelings you grew for another outshined that crush you had so long ago and it shows more than you think to someone who pays attention enough."
Mira looked nearly on the verge of having a break down "Natus…oh god….I'm so sorry….I-"
"There is no need to, I had expected this already when it came to you because it was something that was bound to happen. Juvia never had any kind of romantic feelings for anyone her entire life, the day I came to her and brightened up her day as we were children changed how she saw things. When I left, promising to return she held on to that tighter than she held onto her belief of living. On the other hand you only grew found of me when I first came by, only warming up to me for a day before I was sealed. At that age you were impressionable, you liked what I was like then and waited for me to return to how I am today but it took much longer than expected. You began to lose hope, once that happened your heart moved on, keeping a semblance of fondness but no place for love." Mira didn't say a word, knowing everything he said was true, ever last bit hit her hard.
Then he smiled sadly and looked to the sky "I accepted this the moment I saw you once more, knowing in that split second it wouldn't and couldn't last. It was wrong of me to wait this long, to keep you apart from someone who you have feelings for. I do wish you both the best, after all, you two are still my friends." As Natsu finished Laxus stepped out and moved next to Mira, feeling just as bad for not saying anything to her on the matter.
"Take care of her Laxus, I won't forgive you if you don't" said the fire dragon slayer, never once looking back at the two.
"You know I will" said Laxus before Mira buried her head into his chest and he hugged her, trying his best to console her. Once Natsu heard her cry he took his leave, walking to the other side of the large park and overlooking his guild's tavern.
"You are quite the heartbreaker" said Mavis as she appeared next to Natsu, looking down on the guild.
"Please do not say it like that first, no matter how tough I act those things will always hurt."
"What? The breaking of a relationship that never was?" asked the small blonde girl curiosly.
"No, listening to her cry. It pains me greatly, I should have said something much sooner, it would have been better for everyone." Just as he finished talking Natsu felt arms wrap around his waist and a chin rest on his right shoulder.
"I am sorry you feel bad Natsu-sama. Can Juvia help you?" asked the rain woman but her innocence turned to shock when she noticed a single tear fall from his eye and his frown fade to a small smile.
"You are all I ask for Ju-chan, I need nothing more" said the pink haired man, once more facing the clouds.
Yes yes, short as hell chapter and cutting not one but two girls! I no longer have any interest in Erza being a part of it because it's just too easy and Mira's part seemed more fondness than a relationship to begin with. I may add someone else but for now it's just Juvia, I am not taking any requests on who either guys and girls. I do apologize for how long it's been, I had terrible writers block for this story, then I started college and I already have a part time job so I have very little time work with. I most certainly won't take the break I did last time for the next chapter however you all need to look over the previous ones. I ran through them and did literally a ten minute quick read edit because I plan on really fixing stuff when I have more time. Have a great day everyone!
