Chapter 3: The Awaken of Megumi

Eisaku POV

So far, it's been three days since I arrived here in the past about almost 600 hundred years ago. Apparently, when Kagome went back to live with her husband in their village. Time in the future must've consumed slowly probably give her a chance to meet with her family someday. In order to be reunited with her brother and mother even just for one day. She apparently figured out that I was the quiet little boy that I hang out with Sota after school. Before moving away to America. We catch up on the years we grow on our own before meeting up once again. Gradually quite happy to be speaking at least one of the last family members of the Higurashi's. Now, y'all might be wondering why I haven't returned back to Tokyo.

After the fast introduction and goodbye with Kagome, while giving the second Shikon Jewel to her. Since knowing that she doesn't want me involved despite being the reincarnation of her late son. Weird how we're both reincarnation of the people we least expected. Though at least she understood that I am not her son. When seeing her youngest children. Kayla...nearly cried believing it was her brother and Yashi standing in front of me in shock. They wanted to be true to see their older brother again. When Kagome broke it to them that I'm only their brother reincarnation torn the hope in their souls. At least, they understand since she is the reincarnation of their father first love. Just saying. Onto where I was trying to get back home but...something went wrong. After jumping down the waterhole...nothing happens.

I didn't see the crazy milky way galaxy lights I once did when I first fell down the well. Yet, nothing...I didn't return back to the future. Instead, still stuck in the past...with no way out. I thought once returning back to Tokyo, I'll have my normal life once again. The Second Shikon Jewel was nothing but trouble. Kagome words, not mine. I don't blame her but Inukimi did everything he could to protect the jewel. It was hard to imagine that their own cousin would murder him for it. Kagome was scared about me getting involved with everything but being a stubborn mule. I guess staying here for a while wouldn't hurt a bit.

During today, Yashi and I did a little archery tournament. Until I got tackle by Kayla. I playfully put her in a headlock since we were laughing and everything.

"You both better stop flirting with each other." Yashi tease

"We're not flirting!" We shouted

Okay, so maybe Kayla has a tiny crush on me. Trust me I can tell when a girl has their first crush. Many female cousins in my entire life. The problem though, I look like her brother not to mention I'm his reincarnation. So yeah, that would be not only disturbing but also weird as well. Brushing off the teasing tone from Yashi as I and Kayla were walking around the forest. She said that there was a bush filled with blackberries nearby. Not wanting to pass the opportunity for delicious berries. Though one problem, we need to pass the Sacred Tree with Megumi bound to it. Apparently, Yashi told me the story of what happened when the death of their brother which led to her seal to the tree. After Megumi began attacking the village and stole the second Shikon Jewel after the shrine. Nearly running away but Inukimi uses his final arrow sealing his own cousin onto the tree.

Losing so much blood when she first attacks him before attacking the village. He could've used the jewel to save his life. So that way it would be purified but I know that isn't what Inukimi wanted. In my opinion, I believe he still cares about his cousin despite betraying him and murdering him. Yet, he spared her life by using a Sacred arrow to seal against the same tree. Where Kagome husband was bound to by his first lover. Whenever I find myself here for the last three days, I've attempted to pull the arrow off of her. Though probably not the best decision on my part. Ignoring her while placing the berries in the hard weaving basket.

Catching up with Kayla and Yashi before I'm thrown across the forest. Just laughing among ourselves is when I'm suddenly thrown across the forest. Being suddenly my heart suddenly skipped a beat and body began getting cold.

Next thing I know, I'm thrown across the forest with my back hitting against the surface of the trees. Shortening my chance to breathe while coughing up blood. Next thing I know is when a strong hand sinking its claws into my neck. Barely keeping my eyes open is when I notice a Kistune attempting choking me to death.

I swear what's with demons trying to murder him by choking me. Doesn't do the job any better by killing me by the longest method. Just saying.

"Where is it?" The Kistune growls

"Where's...wh...what..." I choke

"The Second Shikon Jewel, where is it?!"

"Not...here!" I shouted while grabbing this idiot by the shoulders. I guess due to the anger coursing through my body is when I gave this demon a bit of a shock. Blue lighting of spiritual powers extracts from my hands causing the fox demon to scream in pain. Making him lose his grip on my neck and enough time for me to punch him square in the face. Both of us landed on the ground quite harshly before running off. Wasn't paying attention to where I was running. Breathing quite heavily before dropping down onto my knee while tripping over a stone. At least, I was being followed for the time being since the Kistune may follow my scent. So I don't have a luck time getting back to the village safe and now. With luck on my side, I was in front of the Sacred Tree with multiple arrows surrounding Megumi. About to grab my bow before realizing I must have dropped after punching that idiot demon in the face.

Sighing out of frustration and scolding myself for not noticing I drop my weapon. Looking around to see what other choices I have to use as a weapon. That is until I heard chuckling from a female voice. Looking up from the Sacred Tree is when I notice Megumi, giving him a sly smirk. Oooh not the time right now and wish I wasn't a guy right now. SO I would've slap that smirks off her face but was to be a gentleman by my father. I don't know how he handles me. But that's beside the point!

"Well, Well. Look likes Inukimi is now helpless" Megumi mocked me

"Not now, wretch!" I snapped (Not my best moments, ok)

"Whoa! Feisty now huh? The Inukimi I know is calm and smart. He wouldn't be laying around looking all helpless. Just shoot him with your arrows. Like you did to me"

"UGH! THAT'S IT! Inukimi! Inukimi! Whatever kind of Priest he was? I don't care since he not me because my name is Eisaku!"

Megumi and I just glared at each other for what seemed forever. Not the best decision considering that the Kistune is chasing me right now. Megumi glared at me since she assumes that dude. But, I'm not...again forgotten that she hasn't seen him for over 60 years. Giving me a confused look on her face before softly sniffing capturing my scent. Hopefully, she realizes that I ain't her dead cousin and I'm a local stranger to her. Wanna be a prick is when I flick her on the forehead. Dick move, I know but she pisses off in the worst situations I could ever be in right now.

"Ow! What was that for?" She whines

"For calling me by the wrong name" I barked

"Hey, I didn't know you weren't him. Ok. I realize that you're not Inukimi"

"I know my name is Eisaku. Ei-sa-ku"

Megumi looks away from me with sadness for a moment realizing she was unable to free herself from the sacred arrow. Conflicting either freeing her from this tree or leaving her there. Well, then again I have no weapons to either defend to either us. Knowing that the Kistune is on his way it seems I don't have any other choices. Grabbing the old rotten arrow into my hands. Seeing my hand connecting with it is when my spiritual powers were too much for it. Slowly disintegrating right before the fox demon was racing us. Not even a second away is when the item finally disappears pushes me rather harshly down to the ground.

Relief finally free from that tree until whipping out a green light from her claws. Soon, not taking one chance to give the fox demon a fair chance to fight. Using the green whip to slay her enemies with one slash. Looking at Megumi in shock unknowingly that realizing Megumi. It will lead us to an endless amount of arguments and adventure as well.
