REWRITTEN:
Uh, I'm not gonna bother placing an A/N for those which I don't require one anymore. I'm just gonna put a "REWRITTEN" up there and that's it.
And yes, I am taking down all if the A/Ns. As I said before, they clog up an unnecessary bunch of space and don't really need to exist. Which means the review replies are also getting cut out—but if there's anything you need, just ask. I'll PM you back a reply.
Guest reviews, of course… well, there isn't an actual way to reply, is there?
4: The Rubbish Chute
An inclined channel or vertical passage down which rubbish may be dropped for disposal.
The minute right after Dedede's empty plate that had previously carried his precious pork stew was taken away for washing, Kirby infiltrated the second floor. The entire castle was sent into a frenzy—Kirby attacking twice in a day?! Unheard of! They hadn't even finished repairing the castle!
Kirby was yelling something about the king hurting "Gooey" or something like that, and was here to have a talk with him. The talk probably included Kirby serving Dedede a first-grade knuckle sandwich.
The alarm went off, and that sent Waddle Doo crazy, jumping around and screaming, while Bandana Dee was too busy shoving all the newspapers back into the shelves. Kirby seemed to be running through the floors and murdering anything that blocked him—or that's what they heard from the announcements—and most of the cavalry hid, never seeing such a destructive side to Kirby before. Some brave ones stepped out—something Bandana Dee might term a "mid-boss" in his little game, but you know, that was just him—but were kicked aside without a second thought.
Bandana Dee knew he had to escape. ("Being loyal to the king"? What are… you talking about?) Scanning his surroundings analytically, he saw nothing that could be used as an escape.
"He's two floors from ussss!" Waddle Doo screamed. The announcements were doing nothing but terrifying the minions. What a useless system.
What could he use—?
…Oh, right! Kirby once deposited him in the rubbish chute, but he didn't die, because of all the junk that landed in the mini-junkyard. And it spiralled—that was even safer. Bandana Dee sighed to himself. There wasn't really any other option.
"Waddle Doo, get in front of the rubbish chute."
"What are you talking about?! Are you hearing yourself?!"
"Yes!" Bandana Dee snapped, grabbing his best friend by the two strands of hair—eyelashes?—and pulling him towards the rubbish chute. "You won't die, y'know. I've gone there once before. Go on in."
"But—"
"He's coming up the stairs, Doo. There is no time to argue!"
Waddle Doo still was frozen right there and watched Kirby's still-innocent face glance at them. They were blocking the hallway—they were going to be brutally murdered if that were the case.
Bandana Dee's instincts immediately swung in. "We're—uh, just pieces of garbage, Great Kirby! Please continue on your path!" He opened the rubbish chute, shoved Waddle Doo down first, and jumped right after him.
He could literally feel the pink puffball's inquiring gaze sent after him.
Bandana Dee contemplated the odds of rubbish being sent down at that time. It was highly unlikely, seeing how Kirby was invading, but those janitors were completely unpredictable.
"We're laaandiiiiing!" Waddle Doo screamed.
Promptly, they both were hurled forward and landed painfully on their rears. Bandana Dee bit back a very loud curse. After seconds of collecting himself, Waddle Doo looked around. "Where to now?"
"There's a door over there," Bandana Dee replied, pointing towards a half-covered door. Jeez, there was that much rubbish? "We should be able to squeeze in there. The door's three times our height, so we should be able to get through."
"Sounds potentially dangerous."
"It's not."
As they wandered towards the door, Waddle Doo asked, "What're we gonna tell the king if he asks us, though? Surely he'll notice the absence of the leader of waddle dees?"
"Stop trying to sound professional, and, you know that anybody can be sent out to clean out garbage, and it's a pretty long walk back to the main castle."
