Arthur's note- it's been awhile, I know, since I last updated the story. Matter of fact it was the day before my birthday that I last updated this fanfic. While I'm back, hopefully to finish this story and give it a completion. I hate leaving things incomplete or undone. Whether that is fan fiction or crocheting projects, I hate not finishing the journey with it. Not knowing how it would be like at the end.

So I'm here to finally wrap it up and I hope new fans and old ones will still enjoy it. Their will only be four chapters left of the story, before it's complete. Each chapter as you already know represents a different Transformers universe: Rescue Bots, Prime, and Animated. The next four will be IDW's Lost Light, Beast Wars, Bayformers, and finally the last one Rescue Bots. So let's get started.

Disclaimer- I am not the owner of any of these characters.

Chapter four IDW

It was well after hours on the Lost Light with most of its crew either in recharge or stuffed away at Swerve's Bar. The current vibe at the canteen was jubilant. Bots sat in chairs, stolls, benches, and booths. Those who didn't have seats stood or leaned against walls and door frames.

Taking up the space and a corner booth was the de facto leader of the exploration ship Rodimes. There was a semi full Cuba of energon on the table he was at with his fingers loosely wrapped around it.

Looking out over the party scene the young prime watched as everyone socialized and had a good time. The bar room had a dark gloom about it with only heightened the vibrant neon lights that were placed all over the watering hole. Leaning back into his seat the red and yellow bot couldn't seem to find the spark in him to be merry.

Steering down into his high grade he clearly remember a time not long ago where he'd party and socialize all night long without any problems, but now of lately with that ever mounting drama of one action packed event after the other Rodimus was starting to appreciate times more quieter to sit and hear his thoughts.

Ultra Magnus says it's a sign of maturing, Rodimus on the other hand fears it's a sign of him getting old.

The prime looked up and across the bar room just in the right moment to hear a group of Autobots erupt in a bellow of laughter. Smiling lightly the ship captain scouting around the area for someone to talk to, maybe some friendly company to help bring him out of his stupor.

Looking around the room he saw plenty of people he knew but no one here he really wanted to talk to. Then the image of his closest friend on the ship popped into his head. Drift.

The former decepticon and the fulltime renegade had become surprisingly good friends over the course of the voyage and even a little before then. Drift's insightful thoughtful philosophies had been helpful in setting Rodimus's mind right.

He looked again around the room to see if he could spot him, now that he knew who to look for, but found he was nowhere in sight. Drift had some lone wolf in him. He could be off in his own quiet spot some place in the ship.

Hearing another burst of laughter from across the space that he was in the hot rod decided it was time to go find his buddy and see what he was doing. Swirling his head around slowly to loosen the joints in his neck he downed the last half of his drink before getting up and leaving his empty cuba on the table for Swerve to pick up later.

The walk down the ship's corridors was quiet and pleasant. The ship's hallway lights were on driving away any spooky feelings of something about too jump out at you. Rodimes wasn't really shore where to look, he just enjoyed the stroll he was taking.

After popping his head in and out of a few empty rooms, he came across one that was dimly lit. The door was open and he walked in. The space was empty, maybe an old storage room. Since the ship was sort of a hammy down. The room was dark and there were four blank walls. The only light the space had been from a large rectangle window that was on the far wall from the door.

Focusing on the window Rodimus looked from one end of it to the other, and when he got to the farthest side of it to the spot where the person he had been looking for was. Drift.

The prime almost didn't see him standing there by the window. The starlight almost making his white paint job translucent and blend in with its glow.

The warrior was standing in front of the window leaning against the wall. An empty energon cuba in his hand and a tranquil look on his face as he looked out over the passing universe.

Walking up to his friend, Rodimus leaned against the same window seal and looked out at the stars. . Looking through the space travel worthy class Rodimus could see the ship was passing by a nebula, one that looked like the pillars of creation.

The pair stayed there in silence for a few minutes before Drift spoke. "When I was younger I used to steer up at the sky at the constellations and wonder what their names were." He side softly, the tranquil look not leaving his face.

Rodimus remembered Drift telling him that he was sparked in one of the poorest cities in Cybertron and lived most of his live as a hopeless homeless bot on the streets.

Responding, "Did you ever?"

His expression remains soft as he replied. "I did." Then he smiled a little. "But it is the weirdest thing; I didn't learn their names till I came to earth and I only learned them by their earth names."

"Was there something wrong with that?" the red and yellow bot asked.

"No" the samurai warrior replied. "Truth be told earth had some very beautiful names for their stars and the figures they made in them."

Rodimus raised a brow in curiosity, "Like what?" He had probably heard of a few wall on earth he just probably hadn't put the dots together yet.

"The Andromeda, Columba, Draco, Leo, Pavo, and Orion." He listed.

The Orion sounded vaguely familiar. Like an echo calling out in the back of the prime's mind. Looking back out at the stars passing by he wondered the name of this one, the galaxy that they were currently traveling through was. When he asked Drift, the white bot only said it wasn't the galaxy where their home world was and it wasn't the Milky Way.

The pair stood there keeping their optics on the beautiful sight before them when Drift suddenly spoke up. "It kind of makes you want to break into song."

"It kinda does." Rodimus replied. "Anything special in mind?"

"You really want to sing?" Drift asked curiously.

"Yeah way not, you got any ideas?"

Drift perked up. "Yeah I got one. I used to watch the discovery channel all the time back on earth and there was this jingle that I really liked. You knew the one with the astronauts."

Rodimus parked up. "Yeah I knew that one; it's on my YouTube playlist." Drift grind. "You brought a list of your favorite YouTube videos with you to outer space?"

"Yeah! So how do you want to sing this? It's a duet." The prime asked.

The two talked for a minute before finally deciding on how they want to do this. Giving the honors of first vocals to Drift, he would sing first and Rodimus second and they both sing the chorus together.

I love the mountains

I love the clear blue sky

I love the cherry trees

I love the clear blue seas

I love the whole world

And all its sights and sounds

Boom-de-yah-de-boom-de-yah-de

I love gold fish ponds

I love race cars

I love samurais

I love when jet packs fly

I love the whole world

It's such a brilliant place

Boom-de-yah-de-boom-de-yah-de

Boom-de-yah-de-boom-de-yah-de

After the pair had finished their spark lifting song they both stood there quietly looking out over the ocean of stars when finally Rodimus looked over to his partner with a bright smile on his face and said. "Come on let's go back to Swerve's bar and get some reloads of energon and then we can ask Ultra Magnus for a datapad about the universe and we can learn all the names of those constellations you've always wanted to learn about."

With that the two turned from the window and headed out.

The End

Arthur's note- I felt like someone should know that we had a death and the family three days ago, or more like somebody we knew had a death in their family. Our mother's live in boyfriend lost his pet dog to sudden illness. This story is to honor and recognize her life and passing. Her name was Katie

Now I know some of you out there in the world don't give a rat's hindquarters about the passing of a pet but for those who do and read this please take a moment of silence for this lost loved one and pray that her owner will be able to move on without her in his life.

Katie was a purebred chocolate lab and died sometime late night September 30th or early October 1st. She passed away in her sleep and her family hopes it was peaceful. She lived to be 15 years of age. She was a dog that could be both sweet and puppy like as well as have all the temperamental problems of a crunchy old lady. Everybody misses her, some more than others but she will always be remembered as a beloved family pet and member.

Goodbye Katie, to better things you go.

I'd like to thank all those readers who were patient with this story as I lagged on with it. That was no intention of mine but it did unfortunately happen that way. But now I'm working on completing it and I hope that it can stir up your laughter and put a smile on your face.

Please don't be afraid to review if you find something about the tale that you like.

Thank you again. Sincerely, Master of Gray.
