Fluttershy, Spike, and Discord saw the castle as they inched closer to the kingdom of the Draconequui. General Fortis lead the way through the strange place. Discord smiled, it looked as though he decorated it. The weather was beautiful with cotton candy clouds and a few drops of chocolate milk rain here and there. The ground was made of mis matched colored checker patterns while the houses and buildings spun in the air. The castle laid firmly in the ground. However, the castle was quite chaotic in its demeanor. General Fortis saw the confused looks of Fluttershy and Spike so he explained "The town is like this because our ancestors casted many spells with their magic. Things changed in our bloodline, and all but Discord who ate the magic herb, do not have powers. Evolution I guess." He shrugged as they arrived at the castle entrance. The General saluted to the guards as they let them pass. Fluttershy looked to the guards with awe and in fear, they looked like the General, but a few minor differences like eye color or position of zebra stripes. She stayed close to Discord who looked at her occasionally to make sure she was alright. All Fluttershy thought was 'Did all draconnequi other than Discord look like General Fortis? She shook her head, of course not! Even ponies had different colored manes, pelts, and species.' She nuzzled Discord for comfort while her mind buzzed. Her train of thought halted when they appeared before the kings throne.
The throne room immediately reminded Fluttershy of Discord. The walls were grand and pink while the marble floor was uneven in level. There were spikes made up of the flooring and Fluttershy shivered. The room was cold to her, but Discord was unaffected and very warm against her pelt. The windows were long and narrow but there were multiple. The empty throne before them was gold, while gemstones like emeralds, rubys, and sapphires were placed in the design of a draconequus at the center of it. She looked to the ceiling and saw a remarkable painting of two draconequui one reaching out a snow leopards paw while the other reached out an alligator foot. The tips of their fingers were almost touching and it reminded Fluttershy of a famous painting she had heard of. The king was not in the room, but was to arrive not too long after. The air smelled of sweets and a wide variety of animals. Discord wrapped his tail around her when another strong scent filled his nose. His eyes darkened as a faint protective growl escaped his vocal chords. Fluttershy could feel his fur standing on end while his wings opened wide. His defensive stance shocked Fluttershy. What was going on? She frantically searched the room but to no avail. A rumble shook the ground beneath her as she desperately held onto Discord for support. She looked over to see a shadowy figure sitting on the throne.
Discord felt his senses scream at him to protect Fluttershy as the rumble of the room quieted. He blushed slightly as he felt her body quiver beneath him. His mind wandered to a thought but He quickly shook his head and focused on the task at hand. He stood above her, ready to attack anyone who dared to touch her. He snapped out of it and relaxed when he saw a familiar draconequus. Discord did not know why, but he knew him. Words that Discord had long forgotten fell off his tongue." Prince Novis?" He bowed, Fluttershy and Spike following immediatly after. The shadow growled at Discord "I'm King Novis now. Long time no see Dominus." He stepped into the sunlight that was shining by a nearby window.
His pelt shone like stars in the golden light. His broadened face and his long neck were beautifully white. He had a polar bear shaped face, and the rest of his snakelike body was dark brown. His right foreleg was one of a snow leopard while the left was one of a polar bear. His back legs were caribou hooves while his tail was one of a dragon's, it was purple with gold spikes. His wings were of a snow owl, and they saw a familiar goatee. His muzzle had two protruding fangs instead of one like the others were used to. His left horn was one of a caribou while His right was one of a dallsheep. He had a crown that matched both his spikes and the throne. He stared at Discord with a menacing glare as his booming voice rang throughout the grand room "What is your business here Dom?" He looked at Fluttershy with piercing eyes. "Ahhh, and you brought your little girlfriend along?" Discord tensed. "Listen your majesty, I regret any harm I've caused to my species but in my defense I thought you all went extinct! Think about it, they left me for the ponies! What was I supposed to do? I was the Lord of Chaos! Anyways, Fluttershy is my mate and no harm is to come to her." He winced at the King. Fluttershy felt her heart race and her cheeks flush while Spike stared at the two in shock. Fluttershy stepped closer to the King nervously. Discord looked at her with warning. "Um, King sir? We are here to represent Equestria and maybe, if it's alright with you, we could form an alliance?" Discord was surprised at her sudden bravery. Sure she had surprised him before but he couldnt help but admire her. "Well aren't you the pretty little number." King Novis approached her, touched her mane, and purred. "And to think The Lord himself would fall for something meek and pathetic like you." His booming laughter bounced off the walls. As Discord gave in to his most primal instinct. King Novis grunted as Discord knocked him to the ground. "Take that back or you'll pa-" The King kicked Discord off and knocked the wind out of him. The Lord of Chaos did not give up however, he got up and lunged at his target. Fluttershy knew she had to stop Discord from hurting the King or the alliance would never happen. "DISCORD! CONTROL YOURSELF AND GET OFF THE KING!" Silence rushed over the room as her screams echoed throughout the bones of the castle. Discord got off of King Novis unwillingly and hung his head. Novis got up a brushed himself off as if nothing had happened and laughed. "Oh Dominus I was kidding! I just wanted to see who would win. Just like the good old days Dom when you would always beat me. However, we have important matters to attend to. I suppose you will be staying here for a few days so I can sign the stupid papers and have you out of my kingdom." He looked at the trio in a lighthearted manner. "General, take the dragon to the one of the west wing rooms. I'll take you two to your room." King Novis winked at the pair and started walking to the exit, Fluttershy and Discord following behind. "Also please forgive me dear um, wife of Dominus? For the comment, I only wanted to get Dom all riled up." He giggled and playfully nudged Discord with his paw. "It's Fluttershy, and it's all forgiven Mr. King sir." She bowed. "Please, any mate of Doms can call me Novis." He bowed aswell. They stopped as they reached a door. "This is your room, I hope you will find it comfortable here. Servants will be around if you need anything at all." He opened the door to reveal a beautiful room. Filled with the natural light of Luna's moon, the room had white stone walls and floors making it appear lighter. There was a fireplace made of gray stones, and a rocking chair made of oak sat by it. Fluttershy's eyes stopped when she saw the one and only bed in the room.
Fluttershy blushed as she thought of what the night could bring. The King sighed and said "Honestly Dominus, you're mate fits your personality perfectly! She has actual sense and she is the very opposite of you! Though I miss our mischievous childhood days that you unfortunately do not remember, you are still a knucklehead." He chuckled. "Well I'll see you two for a meeting tomorrow at six, don't forget! You will be meeting my daughter as well. So dress up will you?" He bowed to them, and left. Fluttershy felt a chill of excitement roll down her back. "So we're sharing a bed?" Discord stopped in his tracks and was instantly flustered. "Us? You.. I... Bed?" His face grew bright red. "Well I mean, if you want to" Fluttershy said nervously as she felt her face grow hot. Discord could only muster a few words. "I... I... I..." He sweat profusely. "Well I mean I.. I don't... mind." He took a breath and gave her a sly smile as he regained control of his emotions. "I guess it will help us, I still need you to smell like me." He wrapped his long body around her and a thought came to mind. " So we're finally alone..." Fluttershy grinned.
