Chapter 3.5
Enjoy
There was something unsettling about Barty Crouch Jr.
She knew there was something up with the Triwizard Tournament, she knew it, she just didn't understand what it was that bothered her so much about Barty. She never saw him in person like Harry, but from old papers, she could tell he looked familiar.
Not quite familiar like she knew him, but familiar like he looks like someone she knows.
She couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Today was the last day of her Fourth Year, and she couldn't believe all that happened in one tournament, the ball, her... her Doctor. Cedric's death, V- You-Know-Who returning.
It was insane.
She headed down to breakfast one last time as a Fourth year, eager for food but reluctant for confrontation.
Harry was getting a lot of attention (mostly negative) and she had to stand by her friend.
She shuffled into the great hall and sat beside Harry and Ron.
Ron greeted her with a smile, along with Harry, then proceeded to stuff his face with eggs.
"Pass the toast" he garbled to Fred, who sat across from them.
With a smack, a piece of toast flew into Ron's face and Fred grinned.
Ron reached to hit him, but was interrupted by the screeching that announced Morning Post.
Errol crashed into Ron, preventing him from landing a blow on his brother.
Hermione sighed, not expecting post. She had reached for some bacon when a handsome eagle swooped in and dropped a letter in her lap. The seal on it was formed of unrecognizable circles linked together, looking a bit like gears in a clock.
There was something off about this letter, so she decided to read it in private. She stuffed it in her robe pockets before anyone could ask.
Harry raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
The second she was done eating breakfast she darted out the doors and up to her dorm.
She flung herself onto her bed and ripped open the letter, unfolding it carefully.
Hermione,
I am sorry if I angered you with my early departure the last time we spoke.
I can't explain, but hopefully you will forgive me. I understand some strange things
have happened since I last saw you and I am glad that you are okay. I hope to visit you
soon, but again, don't hold me on it. I am so sorry that I can't be certain of when, but just
know that I am trying. I will try. I promise.
Love, Your Doctor.
She tried not to dwell to much on the fact that it was signed 'your Doctor'.
Oh how she wished that her was hers. No, she thought, don't be stupid.
Then, it clicked.
Her Doctor- I mean- The Doctor,
That's who Barty looks like.
It wasn't him though, but he looked like him just enough to make her insides swirl.
He looked like him.
Her Doctor.
That's Who.
