Chapter 3 – Horrifying Feelings and Nightmares

Rockman couldn't help but blush. A lot. This didn't go unnoticed to the pink Navi. Her face got, once more, that intrigued expression as she looked at her friend.

"Rokku-chan?"

But he just couldn't react. She looked far too beautiful. All he could feel was a tremendous urge to pull her into his arms and hug her tightly. Still, he was doing his very best to hold himself down. But she sure looked pretty…

"Rokku-chan, are you okay?" Roll asked, with a concerned tone in the softness of her voice.

Now Rockman felt himself begin to panic on the inside. He was frozen blocked. He wanted to reply to her, yes. He wanted to tell her she looked amazing; he wanted to tell her she looked beautiful and stunning and that she was the most beautiful Navi to him, but Rockman was unmoving. Lucky for him, Iceman and Glide saw this and went to 'rescue' him from the stressful situation. Giving each other a quick glance, they nodded to each other and moved between Rockman and Roll.

"Ne, ne, Roll-san! Come on, let's see that one over there!" Iceman called out for Roll.

"Hm… Alright, let's go~!" Roll looked at Rockman for a moment longer, before nodding to Iceman.

The blue bomber just glanced over to see the pink Navi trail after her friend, before leaning his own head fully downwards. He let out a sigh, looking quite depressed. Glide that had arrived a moment ago, stood next to him not saying a word.

"How long is this going to take...?" knowing of the other Navi's presence there, Rockman mumbled. One could clearly see that he could start sobbing at any moment. Being the strongest Navi around had its perks every now and then, but now wasn't one of those situations. Even someone like him has feelings as well, just like any other Navi, and right now, Rockman's were deeply crushed.

"I'm afraid I'm not able to provide an answer to that question, Rockman..." Glide felt somehow guilty.

He didn't like to see his friends hurt. The blue bomber was hurt because he couldn't display any emotion to the Navi he loves, and Roll was hurt because she couldn't remember Rockman.

"Yeah, I figured that…"

"I'm sure it must pain you a lot…" the tall Navi tried to comfort his friend.

"You have no idea how much, Glide…" Rockman said still with a downwards expression.

Now that was it. Rockman knew he couldn't show emotions, but it was just so hard. Seeing her so alive and happy again made him feel like things were the same as before. Except they weren't… Slightly better, maybe, but not how they should be. She should have remembered him already, that way he could have confessed what he hadn't been able to before. She remembered everyone else so quickly, so why not him too? What was going on? Was he doing something wrong? Was he not doing something he should? He felt his eyes turn watery, and did his best to remain calm. Glide was very aware of his friend's sorrow, but he didn't say anything in contrary, for he knew his friend had quite a lot bottled inside. Hiding behind his friend's comradeship, Rockman allowed himself one sob. Just one. No more. Still, that tiny sob, as low as it could have been, somehow reached Roll's hearing sensors. (AN: Let's not make him a wuss, okay, people? He's sad, yes, but I'm not going to make him a cry-baby. _._)

"Ah? Rokku-chan?" the blue bomber's sob made the pink Navi spin around and dash back to where her newly made friend was standing.

Still looking downwards, Rockman felt something tugging onto him tightly. It was then that he finally realized that Roll had run all the way back to him, and that she was currently hugging him. The pink Navi wasn't aware of it herself, but her action only made him feel worse than how he already was.

"Why are you sad, Rokku-chan?" Roll asked, with a worried tone of voice as she buried her face on his chest.

"A-Aah…?" Rockman didn't know what to do. He hadn't expected her to listen, not even come back, so he just did something he would never expect to do in his life.

Plug-out already. Run away. Get away from her. You can't stand being like this for too long. You know you'll be the one to breakdown if you don't run now…

During that long minute, the blue Navi could only gently pull away from the pink Navi's warm embrace and plug-out. He proceeded to lock himself inside of the PET, leaving a baffled Roll in the theme park. As soon as he arrived at his HP, Rockman crouched in the furthest corner of his HomePage. This time he didn't cut off the communication feeds. Maybe he forgot, maybe he didn't care, or maybe he didn't remember. Whatever reason it was, he didn't bother himself with it. Netto took notice of this as he went to check something on his PET.

"Rockman, are you ok? Did something happen?" the bandana boy asked, looking at his brother with a concerned voice.

But he didn't reply. He simply shook his head and held his knees. He rocked his back softly back and forth, as his sobs began to do a small echo noise inside his HP. Netto understood right away what had happened and what was wrong, so he decided to stay quiet and not bother his net Navi for the rest of the afternoon.

2:37 am...

The theme park day long gone, it was time to the slumber of the night. Everyone is sound sleeping within the Sakurai house.

".. H... Hm..."

Well, not exactly everyone per say…

".. H-Hm..."

Inside Roll's pink-themed HomePage, the pink Navi was having some trouble sleeping herself. Her eyes were closed, but she was between the brinks of the waking up and the passing out. She was struggling in the inside and her fists were fully closed against her palms as she curled herself in a ball. Her breathe came out as ragged sessions. It was clear that Roll was having a nightmare.

–Nightmare–

The pink Navi found herself in the middle of a field of red roses. Her favorite usually, but she didn't remember about that just yet. She was wearing her normal plug suit like customary, but her helmet was gone. Her piece of hair had been turned into real hair, actually matching Blues' in size. It was the same yellow color and her green ribbon holding the edge was also still there.

"Whoa, it's so pretty!" Roll said in that sweet voice of hers.

Everything was calm and quiet and peaceful, until...

"Ah? What's happening?"

The roses at Roll's feet turned black after a moment, and as a tremendous gust of wind appeared, she saw all the other, still red, roses being swept away. There was a shower of red petals are the wind seemed to calm down for a moment. Roll's face gained a terrified expression as she looked forward and saw someone. He was around the same size as her and he was wearing dark-blue. There was a white mask covering his face, though. Roll was about to figure out who he was, but her vision began to turn foggy with the wind seemed to want to kick in again.

"W-Who are you?" she asked, rubbing her left eye.

The other one didn't reply. He just stood there, unmoving and gazing at her from behind his mask.

"Who are you!" she demanded, starting to feel frightened. "What are you doing to the flowers?"

"… Do you want to know who I am, Roll-chan?" he inquired back.

His voice sounded weird, like it was made of several different glitches. And even so, his tone was so familiar to her. It felt like she was having a deja-vu, whatever it was, so powerful that it made Roll's head hurt. The pink Navi kept looking at the other one. She started to feel lightheaded, just when he had grabbed the lower side of his mask and began to remove it...

–End nightmare–

"AH!" Roll's eyes snapped open.

She found herself jumping upwards on her bed. She felt as if she had just gotten a cold sweat from the rush of adrenaline her dream, no, not dream; her nightmare had given her. Because in Roll's oblivious' eyes, that had been a terrible nightmare.

"What…? Who… W-Who was that? " was what the pink Navi couldn't stop asking herself as she got herself together.
