Chapter 3: Unexpected Rain Storm

Isabella wiggled softly in bed.

At 5 o'clock, I'll get dressed to go train.

Today was the day. Monday.

The last couple of days were spent inside. Isabella organized her things and properly unpacked. She bought herself some clothes. A dress, a suit, and other things she might need. Since her father told her at the last second that she was moving, she only grabbed what she thought was necessary.

Her sleep pattern was still very much out of whack but she knew it would straighten out eventually.

One thing that did concern her was a dream she had the other day.

The same woman from before was running through the forest in the pouring rain, but she wasn't pregnant. She actually looked younger.

"Where is he? Where is he?" she muttered to herself.

She continued to look frantically for someone.

She stopped then turned sharply to her left. A few meters away from her was a man in his mid-twenties. Not too far from him was a bamboo sword. She ran to his side.

"Are you ok? Why didn't you ask for back up?" she asked frantically checking him for wounds.

"If I knew something like this was going to happen I would've asked you sooner. It always seems like I'm asking after a life-changing event," he said.

"What are-"

"Isabella Angela Gurin-Fulmine, Will you marry me?" he asked pulling a ring from out of his suit.

Her eyes went wide, tears started flowing down her cheeks.

"Yes," she said then kissed him.

Isabella frowned slightly.

"He looked like that Takeshi guy. And is the woman me? If so, where does the Fulmine come from? Why was I even looking for him? It's like the dream about Sasagawa-san. I still don't know if that was him though."

She shook her head and looked at the time.

She flinged the blanket off her person and quickly got dressed.

"Time to get training~," she sang.

She did her stretching routine then headed out.

"Ohayo, Sasagawa-san!"

For the past few days, she has been seeing him. They never stop to talk or anything, just a greeting when they pass by each other.

"Ohayo."

I might see him at school today.

She ran even faster to the training grounds.

"I might need to increase my workout."

She was breathing a bit heavier than normal but way less than when she started training last week.

"I've gotten stronger already. Now, to get home to start getting ready."

Isabella sprinted faster than she did before.

She made it home in record time.

"Made it!"

Isabella giggled.

"Why am I so excited right now?"

She went inside and ran up the steps and went straight into the bathroom.

She showered as quickly as humanly possible.

Isabella hopped out and toweled off.

"I need to make my lunch and my breakfast. I'll get dressed then do that."

She put on her clothes and slid down the banister.

"Now for the food making."

She made herself a nice bento to eat for lunch.

"It looks so good. I can't wait to eat it."

Her stomach growled softly.

"Breakfast is next."

She made an omelet and quickly ate it.

She grabbed her bag and her shoes.

She headed towards the door but looped back around to the kitchen.

"Nearly forgot my lunch."

She actually left for school this time. Not forgetting anything.

Her father gave her a map to the school. She wished he gave her a map to the house but either way, it's a map.

On her way to the school, she passed by a playground.

She stopped and stared at it. When she was young, she never really played at a playground.

Her father never stopped her from going, she was never interested. Now she has the sudden urge to swing on a swing or slide down a slide.

She felt a pang in her seemed like memories that should be there . . . aren't.

Isabella didn't remember anything prior to her suddenly being in her father's care.

She knows she has scars but doesn't know where they're from or how she go them. They are a reminder of something she couldn't remember.

She shook her head and continued on her journey.

Isabella was walking for a little while and saw the school coming up in the distance.

That's a really big school . . . or is it? I honestly can't remember how big schools are supposed to be.

She got closer and closer to the school. Close enough to see that there was someone standing at the gate.

Isabella stopped a few feet away from the school.

I'm gonna get lost in there if I don't have help.

She looked at the other students entering the school.

Maybe one of them can help me.

She tried to talk to the passing students but each one of them ignored her.

No, that's not rude at all. I guess I can ask the guy at the gate.

Isabella walked towards the gate.

"Ano," she started when she was closer to him, "can you help me find the main office?"

He turned to Isabella. He looked her over before asking her a question.

"Hn. Herbivore," Isabella raised an eyebrow at that, " who are you?"

"I'm Gurin Isabella. The new student."

"Hn." was his response.

Isabella narrowed her eyes.

Is that the only thing he really says? Is he … is he speaking in code?

He turned towards the school and started walking away.

Ok then. It seems everyone at this sch-

"Are you coming, Herbivore?"

I guess he wanted me to follow him.

Isabella nodded and speed walked to catch up to him.

As they walked, to what Isabella presumed was the office, students parted as soon as they saw them.

This guy must have a hell of a reputation. He does have a strong aura though. That probably helps.

They stopped in front of a door.

The guy didn't even say it was the office. He just started walking away.

"Arigato! I didn't get your name!"

He turned his head and said, "It's Kyoya."

Isabella nodded.

"Kyoya. The quiet guy with the strong aura."

Isabella opened the door and entered the office.

"Gurin Isabella?" The receptionist questioned when she entered.

"Hai, that's me."

"You're in class 1-A. Here is your class schedule." she handed the paper to her. "Have a nice day!"

"You too!"

Isabella started to leave but stopped and went back to the receptionist.

"Where is classroom 1-A?"

The receptionist was nice enough to tell her where it was to stop her from wasting time.

She took a deep breath before entering the classroom.

A silver-haired boy was standing in front of the class.

"Ah. There's our second new student."

Isabella looked over the students and was slightly surprised to see Sawada amongst them. It seems he was surprised to see her too.

Thank the stars above. A familiar face.

"Ohayo, Sawada-san," she greeted Tsuna.

"O-ohayo, G-Gurin-chan."

"Please introduce yourselves."

"Gurin Isabella. It's nice to meet all of you."

Isabella bowed deeply.

"She's so cute," one boy said.

"How does Damn-Tsuna know her?" another boy questioned.

The silver-haired boy sucked his teeth.

"Gokudera Hayato," he introduced coldly.

"Wow he's so hot!" a girl gushed.

"I think he's foreign," another girl squealed.

"Well, Gurin since you know Sawada, you can take the seat behind him," the teacher said. Isabella nodded and went to her seat. She flashed Tsuna a smile when she walked by his desk.

"Gokudera, you will sit in front of Mitsu."

A girl in the back of the room waved her hand enthusiastically.

It looked like Gokudera was going to his newly assigned seat but he stopped in front of Sawada.

"You."

"Me?" Sawada squeaked, pointing to himself.

Gokudera kicked Sawada's desk, causing both the desk and Sawada fall over.

Isabella stood up from her seat quickly. No, she didn't know Sawada like that or for that long but he's the closest thing to a friend she has right Sasagawa, who she's still not sure if he goes to the school.

"What the hell is your problem?"

"Who the fuck asked you to butt in, bitch?"

Isabella's eyebrow twitched.

"There is no reason for you to be hostile. You just started going here," she said somewhat calmly.

"You can shut the fuck up. You can just sit there like everyone else. What ma-"

Isabella's fist hitting his face cut off his sentence.

Gokudera stumbled backward. Trying to catch his bearings.

"Are you ok, Sawada-san?"

"H-hai, Gurin-chan. I-I'm fine."

"Gurin, since you hit Gokudera, take him to the nurse's office," the teacher said irritated.

Isabella sighed to herself.

"Hai, Sensei."

Isabella grabbed Gokudera by the arm and dragged him out of the classroom. She didn't have a clue where she was going, she was just going.

Gokudera pulled his arm away and glared at her.

"I never would've thought a strong punch would come from someone like you," he said.

"A girl?"

"No, a freak."

Isabella raised an eyebrow to that.

"Is it my eyes? My hair? My accent? Besides, how can someone with gray hair call me a freak."

"It's silver, not gray. And you're a freak because you shocked me."

Isabella raised an eyebrow to that.

I thought I felt something.

She saw a sign above one of the doors that said 'Nurse's Office'.

"Here's your stop."

He glared at her one more time before going inside.

Isabella shook her head.

What a great day so far. I hope it doesn't continue in such a fashion.

Isabella was making her way back to class when she sensed someone behind her.

Her body tensed. She readied herself for whoever might be behind her.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I should be asking the questions. Who are you? Who sent you?"

She turned around. It was the baby she saw last week. Reborn. Now that she wasn't in a panic, she noticed the yellow pacifier around his neck.

"Arcobaleno," Reborn tensed at that, " what are you doing here?"

"How do you know me?"

"Who doesn't know about the greatest hitman in the world?"

His fedora shadowed his face.

"Hmmm, so you know about the mafia?"

Isabella nodded.

"I do."

"Then die."

He pulled out a gun and shot at her.

Isabella dodged and pulled out a gun of her own.

"I know of the mafia. I'm not apart of a famiglia, but that doesn't mean someone wouldn't come after you if something happened to me."

"Come to the volleyball game."

Volleyball game? There's a volleyball team?

"Why?"

"You might just see something you like," he said with a smirk.

"I'll think about it. I need to head to class. See you around, I guess."

Isabella put her gun away and walked away. Glancing one more time behind her.

"A strong, female famiglia member is just what Damn-Tsuna needs."

"I guess I'm not going to the volleyball game."

Isabella spent time avoiding boys and girls alike. She ended up falling asleep in the bathroom, where she was hiding from them.

"REBORN! EXTINGUISH THE DYNAMITE WITH MY DYING WILL!"

That's the voice from last week.

The voice came from the back of the gym. The scene before her was an … odd one.

Sawada was clad in nothing but his boxers. And Gokudera was throwing dynamite.

Wait wait wait. Gokudera hates Sawada. Who just so happens to possibly be a mafia weapon is dynamite, which explodes like a bomb. Also the most obvious, his first name being Hayato. He's Smoking Bomb Hayato.

"Correct. You're right on time."

Isabella jumped.

"Reborn, what's going on?"

"Gokudera challenged Damn-Tsuna to be the Vongola Boss."

Vongola?I think I've heard of them.

"Triple Bomb!" Gokudera yelled.

He had a large amount of dynamite in his hands but some of them dropped and landed at his feet.

This jackass is going to blow himself up!

Isabella ran over to him and pushed the both of them out of the way. She didn't think about what she did, she just did it.

She waited for an explosion but never heard one.

"Huh?"

She turned and saw that all the dynamite were extinguished. Sawada was watching them. Isabella realized she was still lying on top of Gokudera.

She quickly got off of him. She offered him her hand to help him up.

He looked her in the eyes before taking her hand.

"Arigato. For saving me."

"You're welcome."

They let go of each other's hand, awkwardly.

Gokudera turned to Sawada.

"You helped me too," he bowed deeply. "I'm forever in your debt."

"T-that's not necessary," Sawada said.

"I really need to get home. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

"B-bye Gurin-chan."

Gokudera nodded in her direction.

Isabella was taking her time getting home, trying to enjoy the scenery.

"Today was … interesting. Tomorrow will most likely quiet down a little bit."

It was an uneventful Tuesday as she expected.

The final bell rang about an hour ago. Isabella has been wandering around the school the entire time.

She didn't want to go home to that empty house just yet. Besides, this way she won't get lost in the school.

I should probably head home.

She went outside and started heading for the gate, but she saw someone on the baseball field.

Who's that?

She decided at that moment to go see who it was.

As she got closer and closer, she got a better look at the person's face.

"Yamamoto-san, what're you doing?" she called out.

He stopped what he was doing and jogged over to her.

"Hi, Isabella. I'm doing some baseball practice," he said smiling.

Why does his smile look so...weird? Almost plastic like.

"Wanna play a game of catch? It could help you with practice plus I don't want to go home just yet."

He thought for a second before nodding.

"Sure. Let's do it."

Isabella put her things done on the bleachers and headed out to the field.

Time truly escaped them.

They played catch for a lot longer than both of them probably wanted. They even batted a few times.

Isabella pitched the ball to Yamamoto. He slammed the bat into it. The ball went flying in the air and Isabella took off after it. It looked like it was going towards the fence. Isabella climbed up the fence and caught it.

"Wooooooooh! I caught it!" she yelled.

She jogged back to Yamamoto.

"So, how did I fair, Mr. Baseball?"

Yamamoto laughed.

"You did amazing. You would be great on the team!"

Isabella flushed.

"You think so? That's very nice of you."

"Thanks for helping me practice," he said with a smile.

"It was my pleasure. I had a lot of fun."

"Maybe we can do it again sometime."

"Maybe. I'll see you tomorrow."

He nodded.

"Tomorrow."

Isabella started walking to the bleachers to get her stuff.

"And Yamamoto-san?"

He turned to her.

"Your smile is absolutely beautiful when it's not fake."

Yamamoto frowned softly to himself and watched Isabella leave.

She looked through me so easily.
