It had taken a while but soon I was able to maintain my balance on my own without having Aechmea by my side constantly to see if I was going to fall or not. Mind you, I have the mindset of a grown person so learning how to walk was pretty simple, nonetheless, after proving I can walk around the operating without falling to Aechmea he had given me an opportunity I simply could not refuse…

After walking around the room several times just to prove one more to Aechmea that I could walk he came up to me once I sat down. He sat next to me as his clothes changed "Spinel, do you want to see your home?" after stunning Spinel, they rapidly nodded making Aechmea chuckle.

He nodded as he stood up alongside with Spinel 'Curious as ever it seems' Aechmea thought in his head when he cleaned up the operating room as he had already set arrangements for more a more suitable and comfy room for the gem in the Complex. Spinel was already standing by the door when he finished as they had a smile plastered upon their face. Approaching the gem he laid his hand on the door handle before turning to the gem "Are you ready?" 'This will be the next step to our salvation'

"Yes I am" they nodded making him hum, turning the doorknob the sunlight invaded the doorway shining both of them.

.

..

…..

Aechmea chuckled internally, it seemed Spinel's head was on a swivel as their head kept turning left and right as they scanned the buildings they passed that were decorated with all sorts of ornaments and decorations. There were markets and living places as the Lunarians talked with each other. Though when they were distracted, Spinel never noticed a trio of female Lunarians run up to Aechmea.

"Oh, my Prince finally came out of his cave!" Lunarians 1 said

"This was the gem you were taking care of? At least you could've given them color!" 2 said

"Prince! How dare you deprive us of your looks!" and 3 said finally.

Aechmea gave the trio of Lunarians a blank look as he waved his hand "Leave me for now, come visit me some other time" he ordered making the three pout. As they left, they shouted tsundere-like insults at Aechmea and Spinel. Only when they sat a table for, coincidentally, three did they return to their own. But when they started to eat did Spinel ever Aechmea for that.

"Aechmea, why don't you eat like...them" not wanting to be rude, Spinel only tilted their head at the Lunarians sitting down but even then, the Lunarians saw this gesture and stuck their tongues out at the gem, Spinel even swore that one of them give them the finger but denied it thinking it was just their imagination.

Despite that, they also liked how they were dressed. Long Sari-like dresses, pale skin matching their equally pale hair, and...bunny ears? 'Nice golden braces' they complimented as they glanced at their neck. The whole Lunarian race, to what they have seen at the moment, seemed to glow a yellow aura.

"And why do they all look and dress the same?" Aechmea sighed at the pair of questions and took a random turn down an alleyway and approached a set of stairs going up. All the Lunarians that they passed gave the gem and odd look before moving on 'I'd be interested too, Imagine living for so long without seeing a gem up here'. Reaching the set of stairs they began to climb up. The first step Spinel took was slick and made the gem fall backwards, though they got caught by Aechmea who grabbed their outstretched hand "Hold onto me tight, the material have begun to melt." They slowly nodded as they held onto Aechmea for dear life.

Making it over the crest revealed a small balcony with more than enough room for a table for two meanwhile having a table on the side that outlooks towards the moon side. Though they only used the table by the edge overlooking the moon side. A servant of sorts pulled out two barstools and placed them respectively close to each other. Sitting down, Aechmea and Spinel were given something to drink. They gave the drink a blank stare 'How would that work with me being a gem?' they pushed the drink away for the moment. Aechmea tapped the table drawing Spinel's attention.

"Spinel, you have much to learn about our race. So please pay attention to what I'm going to say next" Spinel nodded "The Lunarians you saw out there are the ones that go to the surface and fight. We have a reason on why they look the same and dress the same, for the sole purpose of reminding Adamant on where he came from and for your other question earlier. I simply eat when your sleeping." Spinel nodded at the information.

Without knowing it, they picked up the glass of liquid and took a small sip.

He shuffled in his seat as he brought up a mock building from wherever and set it in front of himself. "Another thing about our home is the buildings, the buildings you see are made from materials that rise up from the Moon's surface that we mold from there. They harden during the day but often during the night they begin to soften and melt," he explained while making the small structure in front of him melt.

"That is why some of the buildings might disappear a day later without you realizing and why the streets might look different each day that passes. We made specially built materials out of the oils which we used to create your operating room." slightly peeking over the edge they saw Lunarians running around with visible fun. They looked at Aechmea before looking back at the Lunarians who seemed to play tags as of the looks of it.

"They look happy…yet you say that you are constantly suffering from a hidden pain. Can't you just live on with this life despite the pain?" Aechmea glanced at the Lunarians running around and doing funny gestures at each other, frowning as he did. He shook his head as he fully dissipated the mock house.

"Despite the happiness that they show on the outside, on the inside is another thing. This whole shell of sorts are just lies and you know why?" they slowly shook their head "Because on the inside they are suffering from becoming immortal" Spinel briefly mouthed 'what' as Aechmea looked away.

"it may sound silly but being immortal is more of a curse than a gift. It becomes tiring after a while. Waking up, eating, playing around, arguing, making love, and making imaginary problems to fill in the infinite cycle of time we have. We can't live like this anymore Spinel, there is no purpose in living, this is why we attack Adamant and his loyal Gems to try to make the machine working again". He took a took a sip from his drink letting Spinel was process the information.

But as he was explaining to Spinel, they looked around more closely and saw the ones doing nothing had bored, sad, emotionless faces. Once Aechmea finished his explanation, he stood up and made his way to the stairs leading back down "Come" he beckoned as Spinel closely followed behind.

Descending the stairs, they passed the market/living places but this time overheard some of the conversations.

'Is that the new Gem?'

'Is that suppose to be our salvation? Their color is so...dull, no shine but their eyes are such attention magnets'

'Where's their color? Is grey suppose to be their color?...so, dull'

'I don't care how they look as long as they can make Adamant pray again I'm alright with them'

Spinel self-consciously looked at their arm and scowled at the greyness. They banished the thought as the duo approached what looked like to be a factory that extended a mile wide "This is where we got your parts. More importantly, this is the Synthetic Gem Factory." walking in, Spinel couldn't help but comment on the overabundant numbers of sphere-like shapes being suspended in the air by marble white pillars as rows and rows lined the factory walls.

"What are these?" they asked as they noticed that on the ground were workbenches where they saw workers working on cutting gemstones. "These spheres are what create the synthetic gems we use. With Metals and Carbons combined with high pressure and temperature, we can create Diamonds. Further in towards the middle we have spheres creating Corundum and even further in towards the back we have spheres creating Hydrothermal Beryl." he then directed his attention to the workers below him.

The workers moved in unison almost cutting gemstones in sync"The workers on the ground level handle the weaker gems, once they are created, the reason being so is that fragile crystals quickly deteriorate in our atmosphere. Soon enough, they are manufactured into arrowheads and spears." Spinel noticed the workers attach colorized pieces onto a bolt and spearless spear "The way we differentiate synthetic from natural gems are the presence of inclusions. We have recently started using fake inclusions to fool Adamant and his gems but I fear it is too late" Aechmea, using his powers, summoned a piece of Blue Zoisite "This is a piece of Blue Zoisite, they put up quite a fight against the Lunarian vessel almost on par with Bortz if they existed in that time". Spinels eyes widened at the piece of the gem as Spinel was gingerly given the fragment of a once living gem.

Despite not knowing the letters gem power, just knowing that if Blue Zoisite was able to fight off the Lunarians then this Bortz was no gem worth messing with. He then pressed a button revealing a synthetic piece of a light blue gem "Recently we caught wind of a gem called Phosphophyllite which the Lunarians want to capture due to their captivating color but we haven't made much progress on that since Adamant is treasuring them." he turned around started to walk out of the factory with Spinel trailing behind him still examining the fragment.

The last major thing Aechmea wanted to show Spinel was the Docks. More importantly where the Sunspots/Vessels form to attack Adamant and his gems mostly the gems. Climbing up a set of stairs they stood in front of a currently forming vessel. Spinel tilted their head as they saw a large central Lunarians standing (or sitting?) as she wore a big dress that passed their feet and laid on the floor. They seemed to be standing on a shell while holding up a rather large bowl. Spinel closely looked and found that multiple Lunarians were boarding the a shell-like platform but they seemed...off.

Looking at their face they noticed a lack of pupils and tied up hair 'Where're their pupils? Why is their tied up like that? Why are they carrying parade equipment?...are those shells by their ears?' the once playful Lunarians stood proudly and silent, as they rechecked their weapons before boarding the vessel, one of the Lunarians saw Spinel and they promptly waved at them.

The questions raced in their head as a black mist started to gather quickly. The mist soon surrounded the vessel as soon as the last Sundry boarded the vessel and covered it up making a ball of clouds. The ball soon moved towards Earth where it sped off quickly after.

"Questions I presume?" Spinel slowly nodded their head as the whole event transpired in less than 5 minutes. "As I said earlier, they change appearances to remind Adamant of where he came from the whole thing about the pupils is something the Sundries decided on their own time. They also don't breath on Earth as the air is a reminder of what we went through. So they communicate with small holes in their throats that lets air pass by (I think?). The central moon person is something that we've created but we soon discovered that we can hide far more dangerous weapons in her body. They became sentient on their own but choose to speak only on rare or necessary occasions" as they brought up the central Lunarian, Spinel looked up at it as it gave them a wave of their hand making Spinel smile as they balanced the bowl in the other. Spinel, of course, returned the gesture.

With most of the explanations done and said for, Aechmea led Spinel to a tower that towered most of the other buildings and on the top...a bedroom just for Spinel. Aechmea and Spinel stood on a building opposite of it as Aechmea pointed out the room "That, is your room this is where you'll rest" on the inside, Spinel was slightly disappointed as they dipped their head 'he won't be near me when I need him…'.

As they examined the floor they remembered something, Spinel's eyes widened as their head snapped up to Aechmea "You said...I will fight my counterparts but how will I fight them?" Aechmea mouthed 'ahhh' as he facepalmed.

"I forgot, silly me. This last trip will be your last as it's getting late alright?" they nodded in agreement. Aechmea turned and Spinel followed as they weaved through crowds and took turns that made Spinel take mental notes on which paths he took.

(idk like 5 minutes later)

"Although we only used this room to train when we first appeared. We only use it every now and then for entertainment purposes. Though some Sundries or Lancer would come in here just to fight each other " Spinel followed Aechmea into a large building that contained shelf after shelf of bows and lances. He pointed at the rack of bows and said "Get a bow and we'll start" Spinel went up to the rack and inspected the bows noticing some had worn out strings while others were still new. They then reached for one the looked like to be in mint condition, but as they grab the handle they froze 'H-how did I know which one was better' Standing in the middle of the room, Aechmea seemed to summon a double-edged sword as its length was half his height 'A...sword?' despite it looking heavy, Aechmea held it up without much of a problem. Spinel shook themselves before getting into positions 'I'll question myself later' they rushed back while nervously laughing and grabbed a quiver full of arrows.

Taking opposite ends in the room, Spinel brought the bow up and aimed at Aechmea who was actually surprised 'I was going teach her step-by-step on how to use a bow but to my surprise once again, it looks like they know how to use it' Spinel let the arrow go as it soared towards Aechmea who quickly deflected it using the flat side of his sword. "Once more" they quickly nocked another arrow and released it without a second thought, yet it was futile as Aechmea deflected it aside it implanted itself on the ground to his side.

The same process of Spinel firing at Aechmea went on for a bit before Spinel did something a bit more special. Nocking one more arrow they were somehow able to curve it in the air, distracting Aechmea in the process. Already having another arrow, they did a couple twirls between their fingers before loading it in and firing it at Aechmea not a half second later. 'T-this is actually kinda fun!' grinning they watched the arrow hit Aechmea completely ruining Spinel's current mood.

Aechmea only followed the first arrow and furrowed his eyebrows as he predicted its trajectory 'No matter it's just another arrow' he deemed as he deflected it off his sword. When he directed his attention back to Spinel he widened his eyes as felt something connect with his stomach followed quickly by the clatter of his sword falling to the ground.

He pulled the arrow out of his stomach as the punctured area literally closed up in a millisecond and looked back up at Spinel with a smile, who had wide-eyes with their hands covering their mouth. The moment they saw the wound close they pouted "I forgot you can't die…" he heard them mutter.

Chuckling at their reaction he approached Spinel and ruffled their hair a bit "Congrats, you are one of the few who can curve an arrow mid-flight" they looked up surprised before a grin formed on their face. Aechmea helped Spinel pick up the discarded arrows before he escorted them back to their room leaving Spinel to climb the building...that's melting...that also doesn't include safety railings.

After coming up to the intimidating stature, Spinel climbed the stairs on the sides. They sighed as they about screamed each time they would lose grip. After finally climbing the last stair they plopped onto the bed in an awkward position as they began to think "This is my first step in helping a race move on. I will not disappoint the Lunarians. I promise them and my technical father that I will not give up until I either shatter or they pass on." determinedly, they fell fast asleep.

Fixed this one up but still feeling kinda down about this chapter, who knows, I'd probably come back and re-fix this. Also, Spinel is a head taller than every gem in the anime since every gem, once fully grown from what I've seen are the same height no matter what material. This still means Spinel is shorter than Adamant and for sure shorter than Aechmea. And speaking of Aechmea and Adamant. For this story, they are the same height...for no reason at all.
