Lore - As a child living in Piltover he had three great disadvantages: being in an extremely poor family, having only one parent, and his father being The infamous Piltover Master Thief, "C". Though his father was an exceptional thief, he had a generous heart. He gave almost all of his treasure and money to families that were less fortunate, like their own. Garrick's father had a motto that he would go by, "Live with little so that others don't have to." Garrick loved his father's methods and aimed to become as great of a thief as he to carry on his legacy when he passed. Garrick was taught how to be as elusive and precise as his father. The great C was known as a ghost, a shadow, that could never be caught, and Garrick thought he would have his whole life to train to be as great as his father was. However, at some point in his early twenties, their house and hideout was discovered and raided by Piltover's beloved Sheriff, Caitlyn, and he found his father dead. The living shadow "C" was killed that day, reported in after a person who he helped gave him away. This was the very moment when Garrick's warm heart turned to ice. He took up his father's alias as "C" and began the legend anew, a few years after his father's death.
Garrick was as kindhearted in his motivation as his father, but he never gave away his identity to those he helped like his father had. He became a thing of legend and brutality unlike his father ever had, taking the lives of those who he deemed far too threatening to his cause without a second thought. Caitlyn reported that she was suspicious about the "return" of "C"; like this was someone entirely different. However, like his father had taught him, though Garrick was not above killing those who got in his way or saw him it was not his preferred method of handling things. He needed to fall back on that safety net to supplement his lack of his father's stealth abilities. Garrick continued stealing in his father's name, leaving a trail of mystery and blood until the day he decided he was finally ready. Ready for revenge. Garrick left the shadows and came to the league and revealing himself as C's son. He also requested to meet with Caitlyn during his judgment. Upon meeting her face to face he drew a knife, handed it to her, said, "Learn to use it, because that gun won't protect you in the shadows of Piltover." He pushed her aside, and walked into the Institute of War.
Game Quote - "My father will not have died for nothing."
