Chapter 4: Bad Mornings

Pewter City Pokémon Center

Time: 5:20 A.M.

Pain…That's what he was feeling…Pain. A child no older than 6, with black hair winced as he held his arm. He struggled to get up, but when he did a black frog like Pokémon, with a long deep red tongue wrapped around his neck like a scarf, stood there to face him. The child dodged as the frog went to stab at him with his webbed hand, the kid then ducked as the frog went for him again. As he ducked the child kicked at the frog's stomach knocking him back, the child breathed only to have a piercing blade of water shot at him.

X sat up breathing hard, he was sweating. Getting out of bed X looked at the clock on the nightstand 5:20 it read he went to the bathroom and took a hot shower. That's when things started bad, as X stepped out of the shower he slipped going face first with the floor. He gritted his teeth not out of pain but out of annoyance. He then discovered that the room the nurse gave him had no towels, he rolled his hands into fists, his anger rising. Walking out of the bathroom he went to his bed grabbed the sheet and dried himself with it, after he got dressed X walked out slamming the door shut, Mewtwo still asleep in the other bed.

X walked to the cafeteria angrily, as he walked in he located the food and went towards it, BAM.

X stumbled back shaking his head he looked up to see a girl with sharp purple bangs the rest of her hair was up in a wild pony tail fashion, two red balls were on either side of her head, she wore a shirt much like the one Trainer Silver was known for wearing except it was purple with a red stripe down the middle as well as a red Pokéball symbol on the left side of her chest. She had a dark blue scarf around her neck and she wore shorts a lot like trainer whites only purple where the blue was and red where the white would have been. She had on red knee high socks and purple high tops with red on the tips. Finally she had on black fingerless gloves and had a small pack on the back of her waist secured there by a black belt.

Great he thought to himself; now I'm gonna hear some girl apologize endlessly saying how she-

"Watch where you're going jerk!" the girl said, wait what? X thought to himself, that wasn't the response he had expected, and right now he didn't feel like talking "tch whatever" he said as he started walking away but a hand gripped his shoulder "what did you say?" she asked. 'One warning' he thought to himself 'just one'. "Let go of my shoulder or else" X coldly stated, she didn't let go.

"I asked what did you-" SNAP X cut her off by socking her straight in the face knocking her back, cracking his neck he preceded to walk away only to be tackled to the ground seconds later.

Mewtwo awoke, turning his head towards the nightstand checking the time on what they called a "Clock" 6:10. Getting out of the bed he walked towards the…what was it? Oh yes a bathroom right. Going in he looked at the round basin with a mirror, he turned to see a glass door leading into a small room, on one of the walls of the small room there was a device with tiny holes and below it were knobs. Mewtwo looked at it, how did these things work? As he went to reach for one of the knobs the door to the bathroom opened and he heard a gasp, Mewtwo turned around to see a girl with brown hair standing in the doorway she was clutching a stack of white towels to her chest and had a look of fear on her face.

"I'm s…sorry I thought nobody and I was told to bring towels here and…" she stopped and looked down. Mewtwo stood there his expression unchanged, "towels there for drying yourself" she said quietly. Mewtwo contemplated weather he should converse with the girl and ask how to work the small room… he decided against it but he still needed to know how to work the room. He motioned his head towards the cone device, "the shower?" she asked, he nodded. "Do you need to know how it works?" he nodded again.

Putting the towels down the girl walked over to the shower room "you turn these nobs and water comes out" she explained as she turned the nob, water came out of the cone device, "and you use this to wash yourself" she stated getting a bar of soap that was sitting on an indent in the wall "you rub it against your body" she said handing it to Mewtwo. "Then dry yourself with one of those towels" she said pointing to the stack on the counter. "Good luck…oh and make sure to turn off the water when you're done" she said with smile as she left the room. Mewtwo stepped into the shower, as he felt the hot water he closed his eyes enjoying the feeling.

Stepping out of the shower Mewtwo stretched as a white towel floated towards him and dried him off as he walked out of the room it placed itself on the counter. Not knowing what to do, Mewtwo sat himself down on the floor and proceeded to meditate enjoying the peaceful quietness.

"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" a crowd of people chanted as X and the purple haired girl continued to brawl. People had attempted to break it up but failed, even nurse joy couldn't stop them. Currently the girl was atop X whacking at the back of his head. Eventually X was able to grab her wrists, flipped around and kicked her in the stomach sending her flying out of the room. This started both of them throwing each other around the Pokécenter eventually both were outside, as a crowd stood watching.

"I just realized something" the girl said as she slashed at X "you're a horrible fighter". X then grabbed the girls arm as she grabbed his fist that was flying at her. It then became a struggle, until X let go, he then spun and kicked her stomach sending her flying back. X turned walking back to the center, he wiped the blood off his lip. With a semi-agitated expression on his face the crowed split in 2 not daring to get in the trainers way.

"What's wrong? Afraid to lose still or are you just too tired" X heard the girl taunt behind him, he stopped turning his head slightly to the right "no…I just don't feel like killing you" he said his voice was dead serious. Everything then became silent

"Would Vivel please come to the front desk, Vivel your Pokémon are ready" the intercom rang out. "That's me!" the girl said getting up "we'll finish this later!" Vivel said running past X into the center.

X silently chewed on his food, It was quite a sight to see so many trainers avoid him when he walked back to the cafeteria grabbed a tray and served himself pancakes, eggs, and bacon as well as some milk to drink he then sat down in the far corner and began to eat. It was a good thing he chose the back because every trainer had moved the chairs and tables leaving a fine space between his space and the rest of the trainers. Currently he was watching Mewtwo walk towards him as a tray was mysteriously floating over and food began serving itself on the tray just as Mewtwo took a seat in front of X the tray floated down in front of him.

"So was your morning efficient?" Mewtwo asked quietly so as not to draw attention which wasn't hard as every trainer was attempting to ignore/not pay attention/avoid X and everything around him.

"It sucked" X said equally quiet as he took another bite out of his pancakes.

"Oh why's that?" Mewtwo asked taking a sip of his milk.

"Don't wanna talk about it" X said gruffly.

"Alright then"

X groaned "fine then, I woke up to a bad dream, bad time in the shower, there were no towels, and then I ran into some girl and we got in a long and drawn out fist fight"

"Well that certainly does sound like an unenjoyable experience to have in the morning"

"Yeah whatever let's just focus on where to go next" X said pulling out a town map he had bought at the poke-mart.

"Well by the looks of it Viridian city lo-" Mewtwo stopped as he sensed someone coming.

X pulled the brim of his cap down as Vivel came into view

"You!" Vivel said trying to get X's attention "what?" X said hoping she'd leaving quickly.

"Me you battle at Cinnabar" she said quickly slamming her fist down on the area cinnabar was located on the map. Mewtwo suddenly tensed up for a brief second, but enough for X to notice "why should I the closes gym's in Viridian and Cinnabar is destroyed"

Cause Blue only takes on 7 badge trainers and that's if you're lucky enough to catch him when he's actually at his damn gym" Vivel said taking a seat "and Blaine's new gym is just a surf away. X turned to look at Mewtwo for his opinion, Except again Mewtwo had a quick look of disturbance, hell his glass of Milk which was floating towards his Mouth was shaking, then immediately Mewtwo took a swig of the milk set it down shook his head quickly and gave X a small nod of approval indicating he was alright with this.

X raised an eyebrow under his hat in question that's odd to see Mewtwo do, X shrugged it off though and picked up his glass of milk swirling it around as he talked "Fine if you insist" he said finishing the white substance.

X and Mewtwo walked out of the Pokécenter refreshed and rejuvenated.

"Alright with you if we fly there?" X asked crossing his arms. Mewtwo nodded as they began to levitate up into the air.

"Will we be playing that card game?" Mewtwo asked. X grinned pulling out the deck of cards and immediately began shuffling them.
