Mabelle woke up to someone screaming and scratching her face. She could feel their nails leaving marks across her face. Every new mark stung, making the screaming louder. Mabelle felt tears go into the marks and finally she opened her eyes.

When she opened her eyes, she realized that she was the one screaming and scratching her face. Mabelle tried to stop screaming but only ended up choking on the vomit that was making its way up from her mouth. Someone yanked her up and started rubbing her back as she dry heaved. Turning to the person she cried into them as they awkwardly tried to pat her head but instead accidently smacked her nose. The person stopped trying and released their hold on her. Mabelle looked up at the person, expecting to see blue-green eyes. Instead she was met with dark brown eyes.

Mabelle pushed herself away from Riddle and looked at him from the corner of her eyes. If Riddle looked insulted, he didn't show it and instead got up, face impassive, and held his hand out her. Mabelle put her hand in his, which were surprisingly hot, and let him assist her to her feet. "Where did everyone go?" Mabelle winced. Her voice sounded croaky and shaky. Weak. Riddle ignored this and answered easily, "Aubrey went to check on a third year that was being bullied. Your brother and the others went to find a carriage and I was assigned to wake you up." Mabelle nodded and walked behind Riddle to what she assumed were the carriages. The carriages were pulled by magnificent black beasts that looked like skeletons. Mabelle reached up to pet one, giggling when it bumped its head into her palm.

"What happened to your face Montfort? I heard that you used to stay in St. Mungo's mentally handicapped ward. Explains why you look the way you do, laugh at nothing and are stroking the air." Olive Hornby was looking at Mabelle with disgust. "Miss Hornby," the smooth voice of Riddle broke Mabelle's train of thought. "Thestrals are what pull the carriages. Anyone who had the sense to read about the place they are going to inhabit for most of the year would know to brush up on their knowledge. Now for you Miss Hornby, I would suggest you leave Miss Montfort alone and go find your friends because I can assure you that you are on two different mental pedestals." Olive told an unflattering shade of red and turn away swiftly on here heal, marching to a group of girls that instantly crowded around her.

"Miss Montfort, you may want to get into this carriage. Everyone is waiting for your presence." Mabelle nodded at Riddle and gave the Thestral another pat, turning to the carriage and allowing Riddle to help her up. Once Mabelle was situated between her brother and Braxton, everyone started talking. Mikhael was staring at her and when Mabelle raised an eyebrow he sighed. "You have scratch marks all over your face Mabelle." Mabelle just nodded and looked out at the window, her eyes awkwardly meeting Riddle's.

Riddle just ignored her and continued looking out of the window. The carriage came to a stop and Mabelle pitched forward with her face landing in Riddle's lap. Everyone else started laughing and all she wanted to do was burrow her face more into his lap until she felt something near her nose twitch and harden a little. Oh.

"Miss Montfort," Riddle hissed. "I suggest you get your face off my lap unless you want to help me out." Mabelle lifted her face off Riddle's lap and controlled the blush that wanted come up her face. "Well Riddle, from what I felt, it's not very impressive if that's what you want to know. Might want to get that checked out at the infirmary." Mabelle turned around and exited the carriage. Turning her head over her shoulder, she smirked at Riddle, ignoring the way his eyes flashed angrily. "I'm going to go there so you can tag along if you want to." With that she walked up to what she thought was Hogwarts, pulling her cloak closer to her.

The inside of the castle was inviting and well, magical. Mabelle clenched her jaw to keep it from dropping but it didn't seem like she succeeded as a boy with brown hair and blue eyes laughed at her reaction. She hoped it was her reaction and not her face because the boy was cute. He noticed Mabelle looking him and stretched out his hand. "Grayson Davis. The 6th year Ravenclaw prefect." Mabelle put her hand in his and gave it a firm shake. "Mabelle Montfort. The 5th year Ravenclaw prefect. Could you perhaps take me to the infirmary?" Grayson nodded and extended his arm for her to take and started taking her into the direction of what her gut told her was not where the infirmary is.

"Um. Grayson I'm sure the infirmary is not this way." Grayson gave her a smile and kept walking. "Madam Finley is at the feast and shell fix you up quickly." Mabelle nodded and walked with Grayson. "Madam Finley, my friend Mabelle needs you to look at her face." Mabelle looked up and let a kind, round woman wave her wand before her face. Mabelle felt a cooling sensation on her face and touched her face. The skin on her face did not sting and she smiled at the lady and thanked her.

Mabelle looked around and asked Grayson where the Slytherin table was. Grayson looked confused and pointed to left. Over there she could see her brother looking around while Malfoy talked to him. "Thanks Grayson. I'm going to sit down," Mabelle said as she walked towards the table. Grayson grabbed her arm and shook his head. "It's the Welcoming Feast. As much as the Headmaster would like inter-house unity you can't sit there. Tomorrow you can but not today." Mabelle nodded, disappointed at the fact that she can't talk to her brother and followed after Grayson as he chattered about the perks of being a Ravenclaw.

Mabelle felt some glaring at her and turned meeting the eyes of a still angry Tom Riddle. Mabelle just smiled and waved at him. She turned around and sat next to Grayson so they were facing the Slytherin table and Riddle. "––– and I'm going to put up the signs for the next Quidditch practice up next Saturday. Can't believe I'm second-in-command but Roger Pickley is a great captain. Too bad his sister left. We could use a new seeker." This caught Mabelle's attention and she turned to Grayson. "What position do you play?" Grayson smiled and puffed out his chest in pride.

"I'm one of the beaters and the other one is the captain, Roger. Why do you want to play?" Mabelle nodded and smiled. "I usually play as the chaser but I can also play as seeker." "Great," Grayson exclaimed. "I'll tell Roger. This would be great. I can see us winning the match against Gryffindor. Last year we barely won against Slytherin after we tied with them, but Gryffindor beat us." Mabelle nodded and when she looked up she was met by the glares of what seemed like second years and beyond. Now that is confusing. She didn't know what she did to make the majority of the Ravenclaw female population mad at her. Wait, did Grayson have fangirls?

As if sensing her unease Grayson turned towards her and smiled. She watched as half of the girls swooned and the others glared at her more. Of course, he did. Mabelle simply ignored the glares and smiled sweetly at the girls. This just caused them to glare at her more. Mabelle turned her head to the doors, as a group of 11-year olds walked towards them after Professor Dumbledore. As is sensing her eyes on him, he turned in her direction and gave her a small wink, his eyes twinkling in a familiar way. He put down the stool and put the hat on the stool and waited next to it, arms crossed over his chest.

Mabelle also turned her attention to the hat and she felt like the hall was finally quiet.

The hat opened its mouth and started singing.

"You may think I am the most ugly hat you have seen. Thinking, Godric, what were you thinking. An old senile hat? But put me on and I can see your deepest, most darkest secrets. Some of you do not belong. An oddity if you will, but everyone has to go to a house. From brave Gryffindors to cunning Slytherins and from loyal Hufflepuffs to witty Ravenclaws, what will you put up in exchange for your wants. Do you belong in Gryffindor, where brave lie at heart? Or Slytherin, where people use people to not open their walls? Ravenclaw, perhaps, where wit beyond treasure is man's greatest treasure, but not the wit you may think you dirty minded children. If you don't think that you belong in any of those houses, Hufflepuff is very accepting, no matter what. Join the family at Hogwarts. Now that may have not been a god chant, but I'll try better next time since I am the sorting hat."

After that Mabelle watched the sorting that started with Avery and ended with Zore. Ravenclaw now had nine new members of its house. After the sorting Headmaster Dipper stood up. "Thank you for coming to Hogwarts for another year of education. I will make this quick and introduce our two new students from Beauxbatons. In Slytherin, we have Mikhael Montfort," Mikhael stood up, ignoring the way girls looked at him and the glares he got because of that. "He is a sixth year. And his younger sister, Mabelle Montfort, the fifth year Ravenclaw Prefect." Mabelle stood up and ignored the glare a particular blonde Ravenclaw through her way. "Thank you for coming to Hogwarts. And now may the feast begin!"

Mabelle felt her stomach twist as the blonde threw a sharp smile her way and started talking to her brunette friend. Throughout the dinner the two girls kept throwing looks at her which Mabelle found easier to ignore because Grayson had introduced her to Roger Pickley who seemed happy that he found a new person to talk Quidditch to. This showed when he took out pieces of parchment out for Mabelle to check if the plays would work.

It was nice to know that she wasn't friendless and she smiled. Tomorrow was a day off so she wanted to sleep early so she could wake up early and explore the castle. Yes, Mabelle couldn't wait for tomorrow. She would wake up early, eat breakfast, go to the library. Then she could explore so she won't be lost during her prefect rounds with Riddle. Thinking about her perfect schedule, Mabelle let put a content sigh and lightly clapped her hands together when she saw the main course turn to desserts.

Mabelle followed the other fifth year prefect as they walked towards the common room. "My name is Kenneth Clark. It's nice to meet you," were the only things he said to her. Clark finally stopped and Mabelle, who was talking to the first years, collided with his back. Clark just sent her an unimpressed look and turned towards the knocker. "This is where the Ravenclaw Common Room is," Mabelle said to try to help the first years. "Montfort, if you know so much about the school even though it is your first day here, why don't you answer the riddle so we can all get in," hissed Clark. Mabelle had no idea what she did to piss of Clark but she just smiled at him, hoping that he will soften down. Instead her smile made him glare more. "Well Montfort, we're waiting."

Mabelle turned to the beaker and cleared her throat. The beaker then began speaking. "Thought you weren't going to stop arguing. They try to beat me, they try in vain. And when I win, I end the pain." Mabelle thought for a few seconds and answered, "death." "Correct," the beaker said and the door swung open, revealing the common room. The common room was decorated in different shades of blue and had a section where there seemed like there was no ceiling, showing the glittering sky.

"Boys on the left, girls on the right. You will have the first door when you enter," Clark said curtly before turning towards the fireplace to talk to the brunette who was friends with the blonde that was glaring at her. Mabelle followed the first years and stopped at the fifth door. She entered hesitantly and felt a slimey liquid fall on her head. When she looked up, she was met with a bright orange light flying down, towards her.

Sorry this took so long. It was my birthday and my cousin got married. Please Read and Review it makes my day. This was a whopping 2k+. I think I'll try to find a day to upload along with a specific length. Each chapter is usually 1k+ words.
