Chapter 4

Next day

The memory of the mall was something Woo Bin was always going to hold with him in spite of the 'slip' with the pictures. He'd lucked out having it be only Ji Hoo receiving the link and he was somehow still humble and kind enough to not let out anything concerning the pictures maybe, hopefully, from a fear from him and over the true heartbreak and them having been linked from Ga Eul herself. It was so unbelievably cliché that it was, well it wasn't anything it was maddening is what it was he didn't fault Ga Eul to much but the fact that there was another person out there to know his shame was just to many. It came about due to a miss click for an email attachment, Ga Eul after the mall moved forward very slowly but forward all the same. Field trips for the kids, organizations to help those less fortunate and she truly gained the interest of Ji Hoo and himself her passion could easily rival JanDi's and both of the F4 were more than willing to help although there was the difficulty with the organization/charity foundations that ended up involving JanDi. Woo Bin knew no matter how brave the face was the soul was still hurting and he knew how much it hurt her to still be terrified of even telling her dearest friend. There was hesitation, incoherent babbling but the presence of either Ji Hoo or himself around her at all possible times made it easier to avoid any meltdowns.

Having been able to somehow pacify Yi Jung's curiosity for long enough and with the assistance be Yi Jung's urgent phone, something with his family, Woo Bin was able to slip away. Yi Jung's father was still a hearty womanizer, his brother was still adrift from the majority of the So family and his mother..well that was the only thing to take any kind of positive turn in his favor. While it was still limited Yi Jung was finally able to sleep through the night 98% of the time now without having to concern himself with another episode of his mothers. Woo Bin was very glad for his friend but knew also that the situation between the two of them and Ga Eul would bring probably equal to more stress than he'd had before leaving for Sweden. He had to call Ji Hoo there was always wisdom to had from the calm introvert and he needed it now.

"Ji Hoo my friend, let's go shoot. No better yet lets go to lunch I need to run a few things by you." he blurted out.

"Well yes Woo BIn good morning my friend, lunch you say well it is a little early seeing as it is only 7:30 in the morning. Let me guess no sleep for the wicked?" Ji Hoo said sleepily. After the long 20+ years of being friends with the others of F4 he knew what to get mad about and what to let slide and this would be something that he could let slide. He knew the panic and hesitation that would be going through Ga Eul and Woo Bin's minds over everything simple for the fact that he was almost frantic and he was only a B+ player in the whole situation. If their friends were going to know it had to come from the other two, it was not his tale to tell. "Woo Bin-ah listen you know what's coming they all need to know and you need to not talk to me but talk to her," he said with patience.

"What do you mean? Can't I just call my bro and want to get lunch before 8 in the morning?" the forced mirth and humor obvious.

"Call me all you want but I am not going to be able to help with something that only has me on the sidelines. You know the ins and outs of the whole ordeal to a greater extent than I and you need to be the one to guide her through Woo Bin. She's probably awake already, not that she ever seems to sleep much, take her to brunch somewhere private and calming and talk about this. Jan Di was close to having my head last night when she called and Jun Pyo wasn't any happier to have his fiancée on the phone with anyone let alone me." Ji Hoo, with the help from Ga Eul was able to put himself into a decent enough spot with all things concerning Jun Pyo and Jan Di but Gu Jun Pyo was still the same obsessively protective that someone would steal away what he'd worked so hard to achieve.

Ji Hoo had fought for the longest time to maintain a balance amongst his friends but he knew that this was a situation where he had to step completely out of it and let the others handle it. There were times to the great dismay of his sanity that he was more than willing to step in and try to fix things for his friends but he knew he couldn't he knew that little Chu Ga Eul needed to own this all on her own and learn that she wasn't the villain in this chapter of her life.

Woo Bin knew that Ji Hoo was 100% correct, he knew that even though the two of them could always go to him to vent and understand the bulk of this was to Ga Eul and himself as well as the bastards whom he wished he could get rid of again. When he'd hung up with Ji Hoo he was nearly immobile with the exception of his bouncing knee. He never could tolerate people for long that had nervous ticks and now he had one of his own. Finally coming to he noticed that he'd been in quiet contemplation for nearly 45 minutes and he wanted to call Ga Eul and occupy her day before she threw herself into anything and more so before Yi Jung or Jan Di got a hold of her for the day. No matter how dear she had become to him this always brought a sense of dread to him down to his very core.

"Oppa, how are you this morning?"

"Ga Eul! Well I am alright," he knew the Oppa for her was a genuine sign of affection but also something she tended to bring out when she was nervous or antsy. 'I was wondering its still early enough I want to see if you wanted to grab a bite to eat before you got any other phone calls." Prior to the incident Woo Bin knew how excited Ga Eul was for the day when Yi Jung would return from Sweden and after the fact how she felt as if it was going too fast, wanting to put it off for as long as possible.

"Of course, would we able to go to the Garden?" she asked with an unneeded timidity. The Garden of Morning Calm located in Gapyeong was an absolutely beautiful tranquil place, while it was a bit of a drive he was more than willing to make the drive there daily, if need be. It held a warm spot in both of their hearts.

"Absolutely, we haven't been there in a while so go ahead and get ready we can pick something up along the way to be there by lunch."

"Sounds wonderful Woo Bin-ah."

"I'll see you in say twenty minutes?" While he'd always joke about it he knew Ga Eul wasn't one of the girls that need hours upon hours to get ready to do the simplest thing. A pleasant beautiful outfit simple touches of make-up and she was good to go, it was something he'd grown to greatly admire. "So I will see you in a few?" There was always a standing fear that she'd back out and hide but she was pulling further and further away from her personal seclusions. As he'd been ready and bouncing around for the last two hours he was less than 5 minutes from being able to walk out the door. He decided to call to have food and a portion of the arboretum sectioned off for them, he knew that Jan Di and Ga Eul never would really like when F4 flaunted there money and pushed their way into things but today he didn't care he'd make the area as pristine and peaceful as possible, they had a lot to discuss. Having her favorite foods set, having the privacy set and a quick call to Ji Hoo asking him to be on stand by and we was ready to head out. When he arrived at Ga Eul's as he'd expected she was out front in the serenity circle that Ji Hoo put in when they'd convinced her to move into the house. Ga Eul had gone through many wanna be techniques to try and find calm but simple meditation seemed to be the only one that would work and it didn't always work.

"Song Woo Bin did you sleep at all last night," Ga Eul knew that she could tease him and pick at the very habits that she herself exhibited and he would laugh and play along.

"Sleep what sleep! I was busy with the ladies," no matter how inappropriate it would come across to anyone else the pair seemed to be able to make the lewd, crude and with Woo Bin truly hilarious jokes with one another. It was an attachment to one another that was quite hard to explain and neither seemed willing to really explain it because it just worked and wasn't hurting anyone.

"All night, HA hardly!" Ga Eul loved to play at all the imaginary faults that Woo Bin seemed to find in himself even though she would stand before the world and defend him on his honest passion, dedication and heart, the very qualities that ended up saving her life more than once in the last year.

"You wound me Ga Eul you truly do," he said with a smile. "Let's get going!" The pair turned and made the way to Woo Bin's newest 'baby'. She wouldn't and really didn't care to ever understand the fascination 98% of men held with their cars. It was a beautiful vehicle at least cosmetically because that was about the extent of Ga Eul's car knowledge. She knew it was the newest, best, greatest Ferrari that money could buy well that's what Woo Bin repeated again and again and again, Woo Bin was happy with it so it didn't bother her one bit. Apart from his love of the car Ga Eul loved this one due to the many times she'd seen it speeding up her drive or parked along the side of a busy road due to a panic attack she'd had and frantically called him in the middle of the day. The frantic mind set was already setting in she knew without a doubt what this lunch was about they had to get their stories straight for what the others would be told. Yi Jung's return meant the end of the duo/trio's secret and she was petrified. It was a toss-up between what scared her more Jan Di or Yi Jung. She'd never kept anything this severe from Jan Di since they'd become friends in Kindergarten and she knew without a doubt her friend would be hurt by the omission of what had really been going on in her life. Yi Jung she wasn't so sure how he'd react, would it be pain thinking he could have prevented something, anger at them more over at herself for being too loose and provocative. Ji Hoo and Woo Bin would be extremely angry with her if they knew her thoughts were set again on all of this being her fault, she just couldn't help it.

"So how are you feeling this morning, sore?" Woo Bin only hoped it was a good neutral enough question that he wouldn't get his head bitten off in the process. Not often but Ga Eul could and would have random acts of rage if she thought Ji Hoo and himself were being overly protective.

"I'm fine, it is a little sore but Sunbae got me some medicine and ointment last night when he dropped me off last night and he definitely does not get the cheap weak stuff," she tried to giggle out of it.

"Well that's good then wouldn't want you to be tensing up on the ride. So were you able to sleep any?" He knew that it would probably be better if they waited until they got to the garden but well he was known to stick his foot so far down his throat it was just ridiculous. Ga Eul merely gave him a look which he could infer meant 'Please can we wait a bit more?' There was one place she'd been able to freely speak without filter or fear and that was within the garden walls, he didn't know how or why but he would not question its power. He just nodded and went on to the common safe subject, time passed for more than half maybe three quarters of the way when he was 'viciously' punched in the shoulder by Ga Eul.

"Green slug bug Oppa," she bellowed with glee, he absolutely hated the game but let her slug away whenever they happened to see a Volkswagen Beetle. The car wasn't that popular and well frankly Ga Eul physically couldn't hurt a fly a fact he loved and hated about her.

"Yah, you bully! Why do you love this game so much? You know it shows a viciousness in you that I am not quite sure how to take." He chuckled.

"Yep you better believe it, I'm lethal!" they both knew it was absurd but it was a way of tension relief for Ga Eul to pretend. Woo Bin just laughed it off, there wasn't much he wouldn't allow Ga Eul and if her 'ferocious' punches every so often helped well then so be it. Time had passed quicker than he'd thought it would as they made their way towards the private parking at the garden preserve. He couldn't recall how the pair had come across coming her together but it was very important to the both of them now and always would be, "Yes! I'm free from your vicious attacks."

"Hahaha very funny, we got here a lot faster than usual didn't we?"

"Not too much faster but yes a little the traffic wasn't too bad coming this way. Just good luck I guess."

They'd parked in the usual spot and exited starting the familiar routine they'd do every time they visited. Woo Bin would way off admissions, they'd grab pamphlets the Ga Eul just had to read, wander the front portion of the garden for all of ten minutes and then head back to the far corner which had become Woo Bin's private sector while he was visiting. She knew the perks that came along with F4 and everything and this one, her garden, was one she'd never complain about.

Walking in peace the pair would very innocently bump shoulders, he'd pretend to try to trip her and she'd tug on his hair for his pestering. They would point out the beauty of certain portions of flowers but mostly it was just quiet. As they approached Woo Bin could see his men finishing up the preparations that he'd wanted. He was hoping Ga Eul didn't notice but no such luck, "Tell your men thank you for me will you, I can smell the food from over here and it smells wonderful."

"Ahh I was hoping you wouldn't notice them."

"Well…seeing as how you invited me to lunch and we didn't stop for food along the way like you'd suggested it was only safe to assume you'd had something planned out already." She responded with a bit of fun at him.

"I'm losing my touch or something," he laughed.

"Well you are getting on in age Oppa," she knew oppa would squash any anger and the poke at his age would have him laughing along.

"Why must you point it out? What to do I swear I saw a few silver hairs right around my ear this morning. For me the glorious Don Juan to age before his time! It would be a travesty!" There was no one that did melodramatic quite like Woo Bin.

"Oh the horror Oppa the horror." They closed in on the preset table and assumed their usual roles; Woo Bin would poor drinks as Ga Eul portioned out the food for the both of them. Woo Bin always made sure to have all Ga Eul's favorites whenever they visited. Finishing the delicious food in quiet Ga Eul knew here came the scary part.

"So"

"So"

"You know one of us is going to have a very angry friend on our doorstep whenever we return to the city right." Woo Bin ever the brave solider.

"I know it's a toss-up on who's the fastest really," she tried to laugh.

"Ga Eul…"

"I know oppa I know okay! I am so scared. I was doing better wasn't I? I was becoming more normal like and functioning and then he had to come back! Why! Not that I am not glad to see him but couldn't he have called first or something and let one of us know then I could have gone into hiding or something and Jan Di I have no doubt if she doesn't finish all her frustrations on the three of you that I could be on the end of a Jan Di roundhouse. Well no that's ridiculous she'd never do that may a slap or two, not that I don't deserve it. Lying to my dearest friend! How do I do any of this oppa how do I tell them I'm tainted and no good, why you and sunbae still count me as friend I will never know and….."

He had to cut her off a few minutes because in his head and heart his anger was reeling. "Stop, stop right now. How dare you call yourself tainted, how dare you question our friendship. I should be offended by the claims of not knowing my own mind to not knowing who is worth befriending and who isn't. I've told you time and again none of this was your fault, you cannot even credit it to wrong place wrong time because heaven forbid you walk around any decent campus, mall or any place without being accosted. You need to get that notion out of your head once and for all Ga Eul because I will hear no more of it alright!" There weren't many times he'd raise his voice to Ga Eul but when she went on about being tainted, contaminated, worthless or whatever the word of the week was he lost his cool. He couldn't contain his own anger at her finding fault in something was completely and utterly not her fault and against her will.

AN-Ga Eul's incident to come…
