Here is chapter 4. I hope you like it!
I also own nothing, but Rose!
Miranda walked into the room with Mary who was pushing a cart that held breakfast for two. Spotting Rose asleep on the sill; Miranda smiled.
She sent the maid away and walked over to the sleeping girl, and softly shook her awake.
"Rose breakfast is here. You must get up Lady Lillian will be here soon as well." Miranda said.
Rose sat up with her eyes still closed her hair was wild and stuck up at odd angles.
Opening her eyes she looked around confused; until she saw Miranda. Than everything that happened since yesterday rushed back. Rose then looked down at the covers confused; she didn't remember having these last night.
She then looked to Miranda once more.
"Good morning Queen Miranda." Rose said with a yawn.
Miranda laughed and pulled the cart over to them and lifted the silver plate; revealing pancakes with a side of fruit.
"Just call me Miranda dear. You only need to address me as Queen in public."
Rose smiled to her and then both ate and talked.
Once breakfast was through there was a knock on the door and Miranda called out to them.
In came a woman with long blond hair with sky blue eyes. She curtsied to Miranda.
"My Lady what can I do for you to day." She asked.
Miranda gestured to Rose.
"Lillian I need you to make her some dresses and a few gowns. Especially one for the ball in three days time."
Rose cut in causing Lillian to look scandalized; that she would ever think of interrupting the queen.
"Ball? What Ball?"
Lillian was even more shocked when the Queen just laughed! Who was this odd girl.
"It's Enchancia's Spring Festival Ball. A lot of people will be there. It will be fun."
Rose just looked a little green at the mention of a lot of people.
"...I'm afraid to ask but why do I need a gown for that?" Rose asked
Miranda just raised an eyebrow.
"Well it because your going of course." She stated like it was obvious...which it was.
Rose frowned.
"But...but...I don't want too..."
"Why not? It will be fun." Asked a confused Miranda.
"Because! I've never been to that sort of thing! Not even a party. Pulse I can't dance. I'm not that great with list of people either! What is I do something embarrassing!"
Rose was on the verge of hyperventilating.
Miranda put a hand on her shoulder.
"Relax dear! Breath in...out... Good. Now don't worry we can get you dancing lessons , and you are a lovely girl just be yourself and you'll be fine. Also if it help you could alway just stay with one of us during the party."
Once Miranda had calmed the frantic girl she turned back to Lillian who look awkward.
"Lillian if you will. Oh! Also could you make her some shirts and pants."
Lillian nodded at the odd request.
Rose had to stand on a stool for the fitting, and after about three hours of be still as can be and getting poked with a needle.
Lillian was finally done with two dresses, a beautiful gown, two shirts and two pairs of black pants. She had to leave to go to another appointment, but promised to be back another day.
Rose groaned at that.
It was now thirty minutes to noon which was when Amber's tea party was.
Once she was bathed she went to pick out clothes. She completely skipped over the dresses. She wasn't going to wear those monstrosities until she was forced to!
Grabbing one of the black pants she pulled it on and then turned to the shirts. She decided to wear the silk light blue one; once she had buttoned it up she rolled the sleeves up until they were just above the elbows. She picked up the brush Miranda had left and started to brush her hair.
A knock sounded and Rose calls out for them to enter.
Baileywick entered and raised an eyebrow at what she was wearing.
"What?" Rose asked as she looked herself over.
He just shook his head. Amber was not going to like what she was wearing at all.
"It's time for the tea party so I'll show you the way."
Rose smiled to him and happily followed. As they were walking Rose was trying to look at as much stuff as possible.
Baileywick stopped at huge wooden double doors. He pushed them open and Rose's breath caught.
It was even more beautiful now that she was actually here.
There were blood red roses littered about mixed with sun yellow roses.
There were also some of the biggest sunflowers she had ever seen too.
Some of the flowers she was sure didn't exists in her dimension were also swaying in the light breeze.
Humming birds were zooming by and butterflies were fluttering about.
It was official; This was by far the best garden she had ever seen, and she was pretty sure she had found her new favorite place.
"Rose." Baileywick called.
Rose looked over to him to see him waiting to walk down a path that lead to a gazebo next to a small pond.
Amber and the others were already there.
Once she walked up to them Baileywick bowed and left.
"Rose you made it!...what are you wearing?" Amber asked with a funny face.
Rose laughed.
"What? If I'm going to be playing I didn't want to ruin any of my lovely dresses."
It wasn't like she didn't want to wear them; nope of course not...
Amber nodded and then they all sat down, drank tea and ate the snacks.
"So Rose I hear you need a dancing instructor." Roland asked.
Rose froze with the tea cup up to her lips. Slowly she placed it down and spoke.
"I don't want to be a bother really. I could just stay in my room until the whole thing is over!"
The hope in her voice was lost on no one.
The kids shouted out in protests at the thought.
Roland looked to Miranda and then back to Rose with a smirk.
"Of course not! Where would the fun in that be!?"
"Oh, I'm sure I could manage to entertain myself until it is over." Rose tried again.
Roland had to hold back a laugh.
"Don't worry I'm sure if it come down to it Baileywick could teach you to dance. Why maybe even Cedric could!"
Rose snorted at the thought of Cedric dancing. He couldn't dance...could he?
Rose sighed in defeat it seemed she was getting dancing lessons and that was that.
Rose was talking to Miranda and Roland about how lovely the garden was when she felt something brush against her leg. Looking down she smiled at what she found.
Leaning down she picked up a gray rabbit with a white chest.
"Why hello there clover." Rose said as she picked up one of the chopped carrots and have it to him.
Sofia gasped.
"You know clover!"
Rose smiled as she handed him over to her.
"Of course he is one of your best friends."
Clover looked from Sofia to Rose then chattered something to her. Sofia shook her head and whispered something to him before setting him down, and he hopped away.
For some reason no one seem to noticed.
"Rose why don't you tell us about your world." Miranda asked and everyone looked on in interest.
"Oh, all right. But I was suppose to play ball with James."Rose replied.
James pouted and crossed his arms leaning back into his seat slouched.
Roland chuckled at his son's antics.
"James seemed to have forgotten that he was grounded when he asked you that. He still has three days left until he is ungrounded."
Rose raised an eyebrow.
"What did he do?"
They all looked at one another.
"Well, he's the reason you're here." Roland explained.
It was quiet for a few moment before Rose spoke with humor in her voice trying to let them know she wasn't mad.
"He was playing ball in the castle...wasn't he."
A small smile played an James lips.
"Yeah...sorry"
Rose shrugged
"Hey it's not like you were planning for that to happen. Now who wants to know about my world."
Amber was the first to speak.
"Do they have royalty where you from?"
Rose smiled before speaking
"Yeah they do. But where I'm from exactly we don't have any Kings or Queens."
James was next.
"Do they have sports?"
Rose nodded
"Yeah lots, but I don't really watch it. Only the occasional football game with my dad."
"Do they have magic?" Asked Sofia
"Sadly no. We have illusions that seem like magic, but no actual spell casting stuff." Rose said with a pout.
"What was your family like?" Asked Roland.
"Well my Father is a really laid back man. He is also the type to give his shirt off his back. Though he did get mad at silly and little things. My mother, bless her soul, is a very hard working and kind woman. although I do get my dislike of large groups from her. Don't get me wrong if you messed with her you'll end up in the hospital. I have an older brother...what can I say; he can he a jerk, but if anyone ever messed with me when I was younger they were likely to be missing a few teeth after. Then theres my little sister; she is a funny little thing, and creative as all get out. She can be annoying sometimes, but I wouldn't trade her for the world." Rose finished with a far away look in her blue-green colored eyes and a slight pain in her chest.
Who know she would miss them so much? What if she never got home? She could already see her Mother crying and her Father trying to comfort waiting up for news of her daughter who just disappeared.
The family looked to each other worried at the suddenly forlorn looking girl.
Sofia stood.
"Rose! How about I show you around the castle?"
Rose shook off the depressing feeling and force a smile.
"That would be lovely."
As she was standing something bumped the table knocking tea on her.
"Oh no!" Rose exclaimed before looking to Miranda "I'm so sorry the shirt is probably ruined."
Miranda shook her head.
"No need to worry, it was an accident. Lillian can always make more."
Rose smiled in relief.
"Come on Rose, we can get you changed before we tour the castle." Sofia said as she pulled her away.
Rose couldn't explain why, but she had a slightly bad feeling about this...
She shrugged.
Oh well.
Well there it is. I hope you liked it!
