Chapter Four: Getting permission to stay
"So, that is how you came into possession of Ookami-kun here, Michiru-kun?" Bekko asked as he pushed his glasses up some.
Michiru let out a sigh as she sat on the couch within the Z-Loan office. She was getting tired of having to explain how she met Ookami and why she only told Koyomi first. Speaking of the two girls, Koyomi was sitting next to Michiru, eating a pudding cup while Ookami was sitting on the floor near them, looking up at Bekko with both curiosity and wariness.
"Hai, that's right." Michiru said as she looked up at Bekko.
"I see," Bekko said, turning back to his desk. "Well, so long as she isn't a financial burden to us, I don't see the harm in having her join the hunts as well. Just make sure you keeping training her well, Michiru-kun, Koyomi-kun."
"H-h-hai, of course." Michiru said.
Both she and Koyomi sweated a bit when they heard Ookami growl. Bekko paid no attention to the werewolf as he looked over some papers. Yuuta, having been listening to the entire conversation, carefully approached the girl and held out his hand, smiling as usual.
"Welcome to the group," he said, practically beaming with cheerfulness. "My name's Yuuta, nice to meet you!"
Ookami looked toward the young looking boy for a moment before looking at his hand. She carefully leaned closer to it and began sniffing before quickly pulling away when it started "talking" to her.
"Oi, what the hell do you think you're doing sniffing me?!" the hand exclaimed angrily.
Ookami stared at it while moving over to Koyomi's side, trying her best to get away from the "talking" hand.
"Aww~, don't be afraid! This is my friend, Ken Ken." Yuuta said, laughing a little at Ookami's reaction. "He's got a really bad mouth but he is a good person."
"Nice to meet you," Ken Ken said.
Ookami stayed by Koyomi's side as Yuuta lifted up his other hand.
"And this is Kon Kon. He's a little shy around strangers." Yuuta said.
"P-P-Pleasure to meet you," Kon Kon said.
Ookami blinked to Kon Kon's timidness and very slowly drew closer to Yuuta. However, she quickly retreated back to Koyomi's side once more when Ken Ken started to "talk" again.
"You better not be planning on sniffing him too!" Ken Ken said.
"S-s-stop! You're scaring the poor girl!" Kon Kon said, looking towards Ken Ken.
Michiru laughed a little nervously. She and Koyomi sweated a little more, while keeping their smiles up, as Ookami held onto Koyomi's leg. Fortunately for them, Chika and Shito walked into the office, being accompanied by none other than Shimotsuki herself.
"Oi, Gopher," Chika started, "where's your pet at?"
"How many times do I have to tell you people?" Michiru said, sounding rather annoyed as she looked over at Chika. "Ookami-chan isn't a "pet"!"
"Whatever, where is she?" Chika asked.
Michiru huffed and looked away from the zombie hunter. "She's right here," she said, pointing towards Ookami.
Ookami drew her attention away from Yuuta and looked toward the two zombie hunters. She gave a quick glare to Chika for the "pet" comment before looking down to Shimotsuki once sensing her gaze upon her. Michiru let out a deep breath to calm herself before smiling at the young chairman.
"Shimotsuki-san," Michiru started, "allow me to introduce to you, Ookami Yuki-chan."
"Hello," Shimotsuki said, "I am Shimotsuki Kuze, the Chairman of Kokuba Academy. Nice to meet you."
She bowed to Ookami before holding her hand out to her. Ookami stared at her warily for a moment or two before getting closer to her. She took a quick whiff of Shimotsuki's hand before pulling away and returning to Koyomi's side.
"Nice to meet you, too," Ookami said. "Ookami's name is Ookami Yuki."
Shimotsuki gave a small smile toward her before looking at Michiru and Koyomi.
"Akatsuki-san and Tachibana-san have already told me the story on how you met Yuki-san here, Kita-san." Shimotsuki said, "They also told me that you and Yoimachi-san are planning on reteaching her on how to act human again, correct?"
"H-h-hai, that is correct." Michiru said, rather nervously.
She and Koyomi were both sweating a little under Shimotsuki's gaze, fearing the worst for their werewolf friend. Ookami just looked up at them, wondering why they were looking so nervous. Shimotsuki paid no attention to this as she spoke.
"Then I see no problem with allowing Yuki-san to stay with you all at the dorms." she said.
"Really?!" Michiru exclaimed, looking at Shimotsuki with hope and happiness, along with Koyomi.
Shimotsuki nodded her head as the girls cheered. Ookami moved away from Koyomi's side and over to Yuuta's, looking at her friends strangely.
"Then let's get ready to welcome Ookami-chan officially to the group!" Koyomi exclaimed, raising a fist into the air.
"Hai!" Michiru exclaimed happily, doing to the same as Koyomi.
Ookami slightly hid behind Yuuta as Chika and Shito looked at the two friends weirdly.
