Chapter 4- Legacy Day
Finally, it was Legacy Day. Everyone was wondering around the school, hexcited about their destinies, except two people.
Cerise was walking gloomily to her locker when she banged into Raven. "Hey Raven," Cerise said, trying to sound as cheerful as possible. It seemed like Raven needed cheering up. "Hey Cerise," Raven replied, gloomily. "I'm trying to think. If I don't sign the storybook of legends, I can get my happily ever after, but I don't want to let everyone down either."
"It's like me with my secret," Cerise replied. "I want to tell everyone who my dad is, but I don't think I can."
"Anyway, I need to go and get ready," Raven said.
"Good luck!" Cerise called as Raven wondered off.
Cerise entered her dorm room a few minutes later and was starting to get fairest, ready for Legacy day.
"So, Cerise," Cedar began. "Are you going to stick with your mum's story or are you going to flip the script?"
"You will find out soon enough," Cerise replied as she walked into the bathroom with her hood and shut the door.
Inside, Cerise took off her usual hood and looked at her reflection in the mirror. 'After today, there will be no more hiding,' Cerise told herself as she pulled her hood on and walked out of the bathroom, past Cedar and walked towards the Legacy Day podium.
After that, everyone started filing in. The enchanted forest behind was lit up with lanterns, but Cerise couldn't concentrate on anything. Her mind wondered to her mum and dad. What would they think of her if everyone found out? How would they feel towards her? Cerise pushed these thoughts out of her mind as Raven's name was called out.
"I am Raven Queen," Raven began. "Daughter of the evil queen and I pledge…" Raven stopped. "…I…"
"Come on," Cerise heard Apple murmur. "Do it!" Raven didn't finish her pledge when her key appeared. Raven then unlocked the book. A few seconds later, a mirror appeared in front of her, to show her what her destiny would make her become. Raven gasped. Cerise saw the mirror change into a quill. She shook her head as Raven was about to touch it, and sign her destiny. Raven stopped abruptly.
"I am Raven Queen," she said. "And I am going to write my own destiny. My happily ever after starts now!" Raven slammed the book shut as the mirrors exploded around her. The Royals gasped. The Rebels cheered. Cerise felt relieved. Raven didn't disappear!
"I- I'm still here!" Raven gasped, relieved. "I didn't disappear!" She turned to Headmaster Grimm, angrily. "How can you be so-" Apple began. "So selfish!" The Royals began to boo and the Rebels carried on cheering. Cerise could tell that something was wrong. Raven was tensing. Suddenly, before she knew it, Raven froze them.
A few minutes, or maybe hours later, they were unfrozen. Daring and Cerise walked off together, talking and laughing.
"Wait, what time is it?" Cerise asked. Daring checked his watch.
"Oh no!" he cried. "It is seven thirty! We are going to be late for the party! RUN!"
Daring and Cerise sped off towards Royal harbour.
"Will we get there in time?" Cerise asked as they ran.
"If we keep on running, yes, we will." Daring gasped.
Soon, they had both arrived at Royal Harbour. Today, it looked magical. Lanterns were hung from the boats. Daring got into a small wooden boat and held his hand out for Cerise. Cerise took it and Daring helped her into the boat.
When they set off to Royal Rock, Cerise couldn't help but feel nervous. "Daring," she whispered. "What if I am doing the wrong thing?"
"Just relax," Daring told her. "Be yourself. That is what I always do whenever I'm nervous."
"You? Nervous?" Cerise asked. "Come off it, you are the boldest person in this school!"
"Daring!" Apple called from the balcony of the castle. "Come here, quick! I need you to dance with me."
"Sorry Apple," Daring said instantly. "But I am with Cerise."
"Why are you with her?" Apple snarled.
"You leave Cerise out of this," Daring mumbled.
"What did you say?" Apple yelled.
"Don't worry, Daring," Cerise told him. "I'll handle this." Cerise stood up in the boat.
"Apple, why do you even think that you can own Daring and control his life?"
"Because we have a happily ever after together." Apple snarled. "Don't go thinking that you can change it. We will be together forever after. Isn't that right, Daring Charming?" I turned to Daring, who was looking at the floor.
"Apple," he said as he stood up. "I had enough of you controlling my life."
"Don't think that you can get away with this," Apple said as she stormed back into the castle.
Daring turned to Cerise. "Sorry about that," he said.
"That's all right," Cerise told him as the boat docked at the rock. Daring and Cerise stepped out and entered the castle.
Inside, there was Royals who were sulking in the corners. Daring sighed. "They just don't get it, do they?"
Cerise giggled. "Nope," she replied. She then began to lower her hood, but Daring stopped her.
"No, Cerise," he told her, gently. "Not yet." Cerise nodded as Daring took her hand and lead her onto the dance floor.
