Kimura Justice
I arrive at Brave's elementary school, thankfully I was allowed to go inside because I was waiting outside for an hour. I was told he was in the theatre club, I guess they considered magic shows a part of theatre. As I opened the door I only see a girl with a tall box.
"Oh hello..." She greeted "May I help you?" she asked.
"I'm here for Brave." I replied "Is he here?" I asked.
"Hey Brave!" the girl shouted in the box "Someone's looking for you, have you finished the puzzle yet?" she asked.
"No!" a young boy's voice answered, Brave. "Give me another hour!" Brave pleaded.
"Should I give you the answer?" the girl asked. "You've been there for an hour!"
"No, no..." He replied "I think I got it!" He says.
"Sudoku isn't that hard you know." she said facing back to me. "Sit there, I'll prepare some drinks." she said sitting me down to a nearby bench and giving me a bottle of water.
"So, you're Brave's friend?" I asked the girl. She has light brown hair and a cloak over her school uniform.
"Yep." she answered "We met only last year but it's only a few months ago we actually interacted with each other." she explained "Oh where are my manners? My classmates, including Brave, calls me Aoi!" she introduced herself. "From what I can gather from the uniform you must be from kununigaoka!"
"Ah that's right..." I replied "How do you know?" I asked.
"My brother goes there." she replied "Though he was dragged down to Class E, our parents were furious." she said.
"Class E?" I repeated. Her brother could've been an upper classman of mine sure but something smells fishy. "What's your brother like?" I asked.
"He can tolerate my magic tricks but he is usually a loner and he couldn't keep up a conversation." she answered with a grin on her face.
"Sounds like a classmate of mine." I replied, yes I did connect the dots that this was Wei's little sister but I decided to play along. "What's Brave like in school?" I asked.
"Brave is cowardly but he has a heart of gold..." she replied "he loses his focus a lot when his name is brought up in a bullying manner and..." her answer trailed off looking at the box "my only regret is not acting on it sooner..."
The box opens and Brave jumps out if the box with a smile "I finally got out!" he laughed. "Please don't do that to me again..."
"I'll try much safer tricks..." the girl replied "Thank you for visiting!" she turbed to me and bowed. We turn to the door but we were interrupted by a "Wait!" from her. She flipped a coin and shw grabs it with her left hand, she strecthes out both arms at me and asks "Which hand has the coin?"
"The left hand obviously..." I answered but my answer was wrong. She opened her left hand to reveal and empty palm, she opened her right hand and it revealed a coin. "Huh-?"
"A simple trick..." Brave told me "She had two coins from the start and when she caught the coin that was on her left hand she slipped the coin into her wrist band." Brave explained.
"Killjoy." she replied putting the coin in her pocket.
As we walk home Brave looks at me with a worried face "You're worrying about me aren't you?" he asked.
"Of course I'm worried about you!" I replied "I'm your big brother and with our situations I couldn't help but be protective..." I explained.
"I know that." Brave replied "Just, thank you for looking after me and all." he said.
"You kids!" an adult called. He was in a police car and in a police uniform "Get inside, your mom was worried!" he followed.
"Sorry dad!" Brave and I said in unison and we got in the police car.
"So how was the field trip?" he asked me, right the field trip I forgotten about it.
"It was fun." I started "Kyoto was a great place for sight seeing and it was a blast knowing more about my classmates." I replied with a fake mask on my face. I was honestly disappointed that our assassination attempts failed and was scared when we heard our classmates were in danger.
"Can't wait to hear about it!" He replied. 'Sure' I'd reply if he isn't out there drinking that is.
The next day was a Saturday and I prepared to leave the house checking my phone for any important notifications. I got a notification from Karasuma-sensei and when I open it I read the message.
"New transfer student on Monday."
The group chat was buzzing with speculation on who the new transfer student is, mostly the boys since Okajima said it would be a girl. But that's none of my concern, Mimura and Sugaya are waiting for me in the train station so I head out of the house.
At the train station I met up with Mimura, Okajima and Sugaya who are on their phones participating in the discussion. "Hey Kimura." Okajima greeted "You think the girl's gonna be a forever flat or bigger?" he asked.
"Who you callin' a forever flat!" a squeeky voice erupted followed by Okajoma getting hit by a book. Of course it must be Kayano with Nagisa and Wei behind her.
"Hey guys, what are you doing here?" Sugaya asked the trio.
"We were hoping to go to a vet, this cat is injured and we heard there is a vet in this neighborhood." Nagisa explianed holding a cat in his arms.
"Ah yes, the Meijis are just down this block, they also double as an animal rescue." I said "I got to know Dr.Meiji's son well and he is also a student in Kunnunigaoka too."
"Meiji?" Nagisa said recalling something "Ah that's right! Meiji Hayate from 3-D!" Nagisa recalled.
"You were his classmate?" I asked "We met during elementary school." I explained.
"Ah, really?" Mimura said "Oh yeah, the dog kid." Mimura recalled "A shiba inu amiright?"
"Yeah, he didn't made a name for the dog." I said.
"Well we need his father..." Wei interrupted "Can you lead us there?"
"Yeah sure." I replied. We walked to the animal rescue the Meijis found and on the way I could've sworn a girl that looks like Hayami exit the rescue. Then a strong gust of wind exit the rescue, definitely Koro sensei.
"Welcome to the Meiji animal rescue!" Hayate greeted feeding one of the dogs. "Oh hey Nagisa, Kimura, Sugaya, and Mimura." He greeted "Wassup?"
"We have this cat with a broken leg." Nagisa said approaching Hayate with cat at arms.
"Let me see..." Hayate said taking a closer look at the cat's leg. He reaches out his hand but the cat quickly bites his entire hand.
"Ah!" All of us reacted but Hayate looks like as if it's a daily routine. "Don't yoy feel any pain from it?" Kayano asked him.
"I saw a snake eat a cow..." Hayate replied putting the cat on the counter. He cleans the bite marks he received and wraps it with a clean bandage. "And I get bitten by every cat I encounter..." he explained.
A small shiba inu on the counter licks the bandaged wound, I never saw the puppy before. "He's so cute~" Kayano squeeled petting the dog's head.
"It's been with me for 6 months now." Hayate explained "the mother died 2 months ago..." Hayate looked fown at the ground in melancholy.
"My condolences..." Sugaya said as he pats Hayate's back, followed by Mimura's small nod.
"He looks a lot like you..." Kayano said comparing the dog to Hayate's face. From behind I can hear Wei reply with a "How exactly?" Kayano thinks for a minute and her face brightens "Name the dog Kuro Hayate!"
Hayate looked at her in confusion but his face gradually turned to surprise "Why haven't I thought of that before?" he groaned "I loved Fullmetal Alchemist!" He'd definitely get along with Fuwa.
"Oh, so Kuro Hayate it is." an adult enters the room carrying the injured cat "A calico cat, I used to have one when I was your age.." he reminiscense "Don't worry kids, I'll patch this fella's leg for now help my son with grooming the dogs and cats." he said before going inside a room.
While cleaning we discussed about the new transfer student which Hayate gave this important piece of information "Transfer student? I never heard of any news of any student from any of the classes falling to E class."
"So that student is heading straight to E class from another school?" Nagisa asked.
"Basically." Hayate replied "But I do have one suspect, a girl named Rei Yoshimura." he says "She skipped classes very often because she has to take care of her brother and attend temple duties."
"A shrine maiden, nice!" Okajima cheered before consequently getting elbowed at the head by Kayano and Wei. "I'll ask Karasuma sensei for a picture!"
"There is definitely something wrong with your brain..." Wei commented before combing a golden retriever's fur.
This new student has been the hot topic for the rest of the day and the day after. When Monday came, let's say we were surprised.
