"She's 5'3, has green eyes, fare skin, and her hair is actually strawberry blond." Stiles said as we approached his father, the sheriff.
"That doesn't make you sound like a stalker at all." I said in a low sarcastic voice.
"Is that right?" The sheriff asked his son before he grabbed his neck a dragged him forward a few steps. I listened in on their conversation. "What the hell are you still doing here?"
"Umm, providing moral support."
"Uh-huh, and how about you provide your ass back home. Where you should be."
"Okay, I can do that too."
The sheriff turned back to us as Stiles walked off. "Mrs. McCall, sheriff." I said as a farewell and went to follow Stiles.
We made our way outside to meet up with Scott who Stiles had texted earlier. He was waiting by the jeep and as we approached he said. "We need something of hers so we can catch her scent."
"Way ahead of you." I said as I pulled out her hospital gown, I grabbed before I left the bathroom, out of my backpack. Stiles looked between me and the gown with a confused look.
"Whe-how-" He then out his hands up muttering an. "It doesn't matter."
"Should I go off on foot or you want to stick together?" I asked as I handed Scott the gown.
"You've been at this longer than me, I think it's best if we split up." He said and I nodded my head but before I could leave Allison came up to us. "What are you doing here? Someone is gonna see us."
"I don't care, she is my best friend and we need to find her before they do."
"We can find her before the cops." Scott said, throwing a quick glance at me.
"How about before my father does." Oh great, hunters! Just what we needed.
"He knows?" Stiles asked from beside me as he looked at Scott and Allison who were both facing us now.
"Yeah, I just saw him and three other guys leave in two SUV's."
"Search party."
"Hunting party." I corrected him with nothing but hatred for hunters.
"Okay, Allison come with us." Scott said as he made his way around the jeep.
Before Stiles could walk around to his side I put a hand on his shoulder which made him turn and look at me "Don't worry, we'll find her." I'm not one for comforting people but I felt bad for him so I thought it couldn't hurt. And it's not like a have a reputation to protect.
He gave me a nod and I turned towards the woods.
After running through the woods, tracking Lydia's scent I made it to the old Hale house. Why would she come here? I slowly made my way up to the house taking the steps to the porch slowly, one at a time, keeping an eye and ear out for any unwanted company.
As I opened the creaky door I had flashbacks to the last time I was here. Shaking them off I made my way around the downstairs looking for any sign of Lydia. When I found nothing I slowly started making my way up the stairs but right as my foot hit the second stair I heard someone approaching. It didn't take long for me to realize it was Scott, Stiles, and Allison.
I made my way out, being my normal self and scaring the hell out of the Stiles as I suddenly appeared beside him saying. "There's no sign of her."
"Do you insist on doing that!?" Stiles said looking at me. I didn't bother acknowledging him as I kept my eyes on Scott and continued my 'update' I guess you could call it.
"Not down stairs at least, I didn't get to look upstairs yet."
He nodded his head in acknowledgment as he looked around. Me and Stiles started slowly walking towards the house as Scott and Allison talk behind us about Lydia being a werewolf. As the two of them came to a stop, so did I and Stiles wondered off somewhere.
"Woah, hey look at this." Stiles suddenly said from behind Scott and Allison. "You see this? I think it's a trip wire." And right as I was about to say 'don't trip it', even though I though he would be smart enough not to, he tripped it making Scott get hung from the trees by his feet.
"Guys." I said, still looking at Scott, slightly amused.
"Stiles." Scott said calmly.
"Yeah buddy?" He said before he turned around to see his best friend hanging from the trees. "Oh."
"The next time you see a trip wire,"
"Don't trip it." I finished saying while walking to stand next to Stiles.
"Yup, noted." Stiles said right as I heard something. Someone, coming towards us.
"Scott, you hear that?" I said trying to listen better.
"Yeah, some ones coming. Hide." I grabbed Stiles and Allison's arms when they didn't move and dragged them behind a big tree.
"Scott." Argent greeted as he crouched down in front of him.
"Mr. Argent."
"How are you doing?" If he doesn't say he's just hanging around I might kill him myself.
"Good. You know, just hanging out." Okay good enough. "Is this one of yours? It's uh, It's good. Nice design, very restricting."
"What are you doing out here Scott?"
"Looking for my friend."
"Ah, that's right. Lydia's in your group now, isn't she? Part of the clique? Is that the word you use? Or is there another way to put it? Part of your pack?" It would be fun to rip his throat out.
"Actually, clique sounds about right to me."
"I hope so, cause I know she's a friend of Allison's and I already got you and the other one to worry about and that's enough." Ahh so he does remember, crap. "Scott, do you know what a hemicorporectomy is?" I had to clamp a hand over my mouth to prevent myself from saying 'Oh shit' out loud.
"I have a feeling I don't want to." Nope, you really don't.
"A medical term for amputating somebody at the waist." But he's gonna tell him anyways. "Cutting them in half. Takes a tremendous amount of strength to cut through tissue and bone like that. Let's hope a demonstration never becomes necessary." Yes, let us hope.
"You okay?" Allison asked as we approached.
"Just another life threatening conversation with your dad."
"Guys, help me with this." Allison said as she ran over to the release on the trap. Stiles followed but I just stayed where I was and turned to watch Scott as he used his claws to cut himself out and land on his feet like a cat.
"Thanks, but I think I got it."
Show off.
"Have you ever eaten a liver?" I slowly turned around in my desk chair to see Stiles leaning over his desk to whisper this ridiculous question too me. I furrowed my brows and squinted my eyes at the boy.
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked in a whisper?
"You know. Like on a full moon. You said you've been doing this thing for awhile but you never said how long." Stiles said, almost bouncing in his seat.
"Is this really the time for this conversation?" I asked taking a quick glance at the teacher.
Stiles also looked up at the teacher than back to me before he sat back down in his seat, pouting slightly. "No Stiles, I have never eaten a liver." I said before I turned back around.
I was just trying to make him feel a little better, for reasons beyond me. Why should I care how he feels? But he seemed to take that as an invitation to continue to talk. "Have you ever eaten anything else?"
Getting annoyed that he wouldn't let me pay attention to class I turned around and snapped a little harsher than I meant to. "No Stiles, I have never eaten anyone. Now shut up and pay attention."
He seemed like he wasn't expecting my little outburst but he listened and sat back down in his seat. Probably thinking about other things than class.
I stayed back after school ended choosing to do some reading in the library. In other words I didn't have work today and I really didn't want to go to the house that I unfortunately live in. It was starting to feel a little stuffy in the library so I decided I would go for a walk in one of my favorite spots in the woods.
As I was walking down the hallway I passed Mr. Harris' class room. I peaked in and saw Stiles looking about ready to snap Mr. Harris' neck. I'd help him hide the body if he ever decided to kill that man.
Weighing my choices about possibly breaking Stiles out of detention or just leaving I decided to go with the former. It might not work but why not give it a shot. I knocked on the door before peaking inside, putting on my most innocent face.
"Uh, Mr. Harris? Sorry to bother you I really am, I was just wondering how much longer Stiles was going to be. He was my ride today because my Aunt's in the hospital so she couldn't bring me," I could tell this wasn't really working so I went with something that seems to almost always make people uncomfortable, crying. I started to make my eyes water and my voice go a little high like I was trying not to cry. "A-and she's just really n-not doing s-so well these days, you kn-know? And I-I w-want to be a-able to be with h-her-" He cut me off my putting his hand in the air.
"Your hour is up Stilinski." I don't think he was uncomfortable, just annoyed. But if it worked I'm okay with that. Stiles hurried to get his books and rushed towards the door and out into the hall with me.
"Is that true? About your Aunt." He asked once we started walking towards the door.
"No." I simple said, keeping my eyes in front of me.
"Well then that was awesome. I can't believe he actually let me go."
"You and me both." I said as we opened the doors and walked outside.
"You know, you never did answer my question earlier." Oh here we go again.
"Oh yeah? And what question might that me?" I asked although I had a pretty good idea.
"How long have you been a werewolf?"
"I don't remember that being the question." I said trying to avoid this conversation. Stiles just sighed loudly and gave me an unimpressed look.
"Same thing." I don't have a reason to avoid these questions other than I don't like to talk about my passed. But if I don't answer he's just going to keep annoying me so why not.
"My whole life." I said looking down at my feet as we slowly walked to the jeep.
"You were born a werewolf?" He asked in an overly excited voice like he'd never heard of it. Um, hello? Derek Hale.
"Oh I am really started to regret getting you out of detention."
"Why did you help me?" He questioned.
I shrugged my shoulders, not really know the answer myself. "I don't know, you seemed like you might stab out your eyes with a pencil. Couldn't have that could we?" I said as we came to a stop next to his jeep.
"Oh, okay then. Well uh, do you actually need a ride?" He asked while pointing to his jeep.
"Nah I'm good, I uh, I need a good walk."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, go find Scott or whatever it is you do." I said while walking backwards away from him and the jeep.
"If I ever need breaking out of anywhere again, I'll call you."
"Don't count on me showing up." I said right before I turned around and walked away.
I would show up.
