Cassi POV
"Well, I like her!" I state after Vic walks away. Michael looks at me as if I grew three heads or something and he walks away muttering about
something. Based on the looks he gives me before he leaves, I think it's about me.
Molly, the girl who helped me, turns to me and formally introduces herself, " Molly Weasley, and these idiots are my cousins, Fred Weasley and
James Potter." She finishes rolling her eyes at the boys.
"Cassi Stratton." I introduce back with a smile.
"So, can I come sit with you? I really don't enjoy being stuck around my family. They irritate me greatly." Molly exclaims, sort of theatrically,
which makes me laugh.
"Oh, it would be my pleasure." I laughingly say to Molly as I turn to the boys', " And if I were Y'all I wouldn't try to prank the train, you know with
your cousin being head girl and my brother being head boy." I say, which shocks them. I guess they weren't expecting me to know who they
were. As if, just because I grew up in the USA doesn't mean that I am stupid.
As Molly and I turn to head back to my brothers compartment, Fred laughs. Us girls turn around to see James laying down on the floor with Fred
pointing at James legs, which appear to be dancing.
"I gotcha Jamsie! This is for this summer when mom caught us." Fred gets out before he falls to the ground laughing uncontrollably. " And this
Freddie is for thinking that I wouldn't get you back. And YOU got us caught, not me. We would have been at the burrow before your mom got
home if you didn't stop to make a sandwich." James laughs.
" Let's go Cassi, they could be at this for hours." Molly suggests.
"Right this way."
The rest of the train ride consists of us girls laughing at my brothers, as well as Molly's cousin Dom and her friends, all of which came in search of
Molly and decided to stay.
"I'm not kidding, I look over and Cassi was," Benji starts
"Hey, do you realllllly want to tell them that? Because I know some awesome stories on you to Benji." I quickly cut him off, knowing what he is
going to say already.
"Yeah"
"Are you sure because there is this beautiful girl that I think I should go talk to." I promise in my sweetest voice.
Benji's face drains of color as I stand up and he tackles me to keep me from leaving.
"Don't you even think about it twerp," Benji huffs as he holds me down.
"Break it up you two. Now, no embarrassing stories about Cass or we all get hurt, got it?" Lucian compromises.
"Fine."
"Whatever"
"Nah, this could get interesting" Marcus cuts in.
" Ok Marky, whatcha got?" I challenge.
"Okay." He grits back, he hates it when I call him Marky. Hehe, " Last month we were in America. If you don't know that is were dorky here," que
messed up hair, " live with her mom. Well we were there to pick her up because her mom is a journalist and had to leave for and assignment.
Well, before we could leave she had to go say bye to somebody. A friend I guess you could say and we walk in on." Marcus pauses, not noticing
my eyes filling with tears. " Cassi and some kid." This is all I hear before I run out of the compartment. Molly follows me, I can hear her saying my
name.
"Cass, please." Molly asks from beside me when I just fall down the wall outside the bathrooms.
" he . was going to . you. 't . what he saw." I sob.
"Well, then what did happen?" Molly asks, rubbing my shoulder.
"Growing up I didn't have a lot of friends. Surprising huh. My mom put me in dance to keep me out of her hair. I started going to a dance studio
when I was 3. There I met a lot of people I could call my friends. My best friends though were Carter, Alexis, Felicity, an. and Sam. Last
christmas Sam was diagnosed with cancer and they told her she wouldn't make it to summer. She did, barely. She kept saying she was going to
make it to the beginning of school. But she didn't. My mom left in July for her new assignment. I begged to stay with Sam. How could I not?
The day I left, I went to say goodbye to Sam. She died after I gave her a hug. I was there when my best friend died. She told me to stay golden.
"Stay golden ponyboy." That was her favorite quote. Her favorite movie too. The Outsiders. After she said that to me she looked at her mom
and told her she loved her and. And then she died and there was nothing to stop it." I sat with Molly, outside the loo and poured my guts out to
her about something I had never told anybody but Carter, Alexis and Felicity. And Molly held me as I cried.
After about ten minutes there was a call, telling everybody that we only had a few minutes before we were at Hogsmeade station and that we
needed to change. Thankfully we did that hours ago.
"We should get back." Molly and I say at the same time. Then laugh.
" Where have you been!" Everyone in the compartment yells at us. We look at each other, at the others, back at each other, and shrug. Jeremiah
and Dom walk Molly and myself over to Hagrid, who takes the first years to the castle via boats.
Molly and I grab the first one behind Hagrid's boat and we're joined by two girls, Olivia and Blakely.
The ride was uneventful, until Olivia tries to push Blakely in the water, for being muggleborn, and I get pushed in instead. My saving grace though
is the giant squid, who I have deemed squidward, putting my gently back into my boat. No, I did not push Olivia in the water. I may have hexed
her, but I did not push her in the water.
Walking into the Great Hall, soaking wet thank you, was not the best thing ever. Everyone was snickering at my wet state, until one of my
brothers shut them up.
Wow, I wonder if I use the charm to make the sealing in my room look like this one. It is just lovely. I wouldn't mind falling asleep seeing this. I
wonder. And I got hit with a shoe.
I look around and everyone is staring at me.
"Stratton, Cassandra!" Professor Longbottom calls, laughing. " And Mr. Stratton, if you would refrain from throwing things at your sister, it would
be appreciated. Which of those losers, Ahha! It was Benji.
"It's okay professor" I say, in a sickeningly sweet voice, "I'll get him back in due time" I finish with a nice beauty pageant smile.
"Oh shit!" Benji whispers.
"Well, if you sit here I will place the sorting hat on your head and You will be sorted into your house." Longbottom says, authority ringing in his
voice.
Well, you certainly have an interesting mind. I feel you would fit in any of the houses. You're cunning like a Slytherin, loyal like a Hufflepuff,
intelligent like a Ravenclaw, and brave as a Gryffindor but I think
Can I go to Gryffindor? It is the one house none of my brothers bet I would go to, so I get the money they bet on my getting into one of the
others?
Very well, better be Gryffindor!
A shocked silence fills the Great Hall, I'm the first Stratton to get into Gryffindor since my brother Nathaniel graduated two years ago. Groans of
my brothers fill the Great Hall as well as they remember they have to pay me the bets they made.
Lucian and Damian clap and everyone joins in after that and the rest of the ceremony goes by, all the wotters got into Gryffindor, including Molly,
thank goodness.
After eating, and eating we did, all the first years went upstairs and went to bed.
