A/n: Thank you! Thank you! for those who are continuously following this story. I noticed that the number of hits and visitors I got were always two digits for the last week. Thank you again.
I especially like to thank Cheese once again and also Yeahhjulie for dropping me something in the review section. Well the story is just starting so a lot of things should really be confusing however; I would leave you guys a recap of the last chapter, hopefully to clear things that should have been cleared.
This chapter wasn't part of the original draft that I had so I would really appreciate your feedback on this, also I divided it into two since I wanted to stress some scenes that I felt would be lost if I include it in one chapter. I also had given the other half its own title; and as always I tried to proof read the story myself cause I still don't have a beta reader and—well—English is not my first language so—so forgive thy error(s)… Please read and review!
Thank you!
Enjoy!

Recap:
After getting free from the sealed shrine, the wondering dark soul was able to possess the body of the dying twelve year old Miyu. The dark soul then took Miyu's existence as her own and used black magic to execute the first phase of her plan which was collecting one thousand souls. The deed was made on the first day of Kaze no Bon festival. Miyu didn't only succeed in collecting the souls, she also found the perfect vessel that she would like to have once she completely lives again in the form of Tomoyo Daidouji. No one had any idea on what was happening or what will happen from now on, even the reincarnation of Clow Reed still remained clueless.

A Kismet Misconstrued
~ZING!~ A negative energy suddenly emerged from somewhere.
"MASTER!" The voice of his two guardians simultaneously shouted, adding tension in the air, they have clearly felt it too.
Sccreeeeeeeeeeeeeech! Eriol's car abruptly halted almost creating an accident. A second later, using his inhuman ability, he parked his royal blue Lexus sportier GS 350 at the nearest available parking slot; none of them minded how they had tossed dangerously inside the car; any Hollywood action director would have paid millions to get that perfect scene in camera. Almost instantaneously his car glowed dark blue with silver lining and within a blink of an eye, Ruby Moon and Spinel in their true forms flew out of the car.
Eriol had made sure that he had look a normal yet definitely in a hurry to every normal watching eyes and soon as he was out of any vigilant orbs, he had cloaked himself with invisibility spell and followed his guardians.
Didn't he just say that he isn't any superhero? Then, why was he acting like one? - Invisibly flying towards where his guardians are, just like he's about to save the world? But, heck! He couldn't deny that he was expecting this; He knew that what had happened last night was just the beginning, but he was slightly hoping that whoever had conducted the rigmarole last night would at least spare a day before their next move. For Pete's sake Eriol and his guardians were just out to do some grocery shopping!
The mage flicked his right hand and he was instantly pushed forward with a much faster pace. He didn't have the exact computation on how far he was from their original location. It must been four to five streets away. Then, he saw he's two guardians floating and unmoving just few meters away from him. 'Most likely they have already found the source of –.' Eriol didn't need to finish the sentence; he didn't have much time to speculate further because his grey eyes could see the very source. A building was on fire. And instead of a fiery red blazing fire, the establishment was shrouded by an angry black blaze. From the looks of it, the building is some sort of a commercial building. People were in panicked as they run from the burning store.
"Ruby Moon! Spinel! Hurry!" Eriol commanded; his guardians were immediately tailing him as he passed them. Black isn't really a beautiful color especially with fires. He's sure that they are the few ones who could see the real color of the fire. Fire should be red. Eriol was so sure that if there weren't any casualties the previous night, there would be victims today, and all of them would be dead if he wouldn't do something about it.
With steely grey eyes and determined soul, the mage and his guardians flew towards the gargantuan fuming black flames.
3rd Chapter
Baptism of Fire
Hot. It was scorching hot.
Red, there's red everywhere.
Flames, the flames seemed to be dancing in an unsynchronized dance moves.
Sweltering, the place is wet due to the unhelpful sprinkles; the place was still sizzling hot.
Smoke, the air was filled with ruthless smoke, taking the victims' life source in each breathe.
She must have entered the wrong door, for she's sure she was in hell. It was Inferno for the living.
*cough*cough*cough*
She was lying on her stomach, sprawled on floor of the once fifth level of her favorite boutique. She knew that the air is cleaner near the ground. Her throat was dried and every time she tried to swallow what little amount of saliva she could produce, she could taste the bitter smoke.
*cough*cough*cough*
Her eyes stung and almost teary, even her eyes seemed to taste the bitter air.
cRaSh! She heard the sound coming from a safe distance and her head snapped to where the sound was coming from; another part of the ceiling must have been falling as it helplessly charred due to the furious fire. She laid there unmoving for several minutes now or has it been hours? She couldn't tell, but she knew it must be for a while because everything around her is either crisped or charred, gone were the once beautiful stalls that she'd always visited. It should take hours before metals burned to ashes right? And since she's seeing almost everything in ash form save the thick concretes that were already black, hours must have already passed.
If that is so, why couldn't she hear the familiar sound of fire trucks and ambulance? Someone must have already reported the fire right? It would be impossible for anyone to miss the smoke that's coming from this humungous fire even if they were from miles away right? Seconds seemed a lifetime to those who's waiting for something impossible to happen—
cRaSh! cLaNg! sHiSh! She swiftly turned her head towards her back. The sound was closer this time. She willed her tired body to crawl forward, distancing herself from whatever was falling just few meters behind her. The mixture of black ashes and water that came out from the sprinkles made the floor muddy; sprinkles that should put out the fire and not fuel it. She cringed at the thought. She could feel her clothes sticking to her body making her even more uncomfortable; her floral blouse and expensive navy cotton trousers were beyond recognition. 'Darn! It's my favorite clothes!' and why in the hell was she thinking about her favorite clothes when she should be using her brain for a better purpose? Namely saving herself.
She ignored the unpleasant feeling of her sticky clothes and the unnerving state of her surroundings as she continuously heard the sounds of burning cloths, fabrics and whatever. She gulped what little saliva she could produce and disregarded the bitter taste of it. Then she tried to inhale as she pushed her body forward. However her body seemed to be at its limit, she felt her lungs wrench painfully. It was excruciatingly painful—
*cough*cough*cough*
Her body convulsed in tuned with her coughing fits and her tear ducts unwittingly shed tears. It took a few agonizing seconds before her coughing stopped. She tried to move again then paused—she didn't know why she still wanted to keep moving when there weren't any where she could really go to. She's surrounded by a very enraged fire and although she could feel her wet, clammy clothes, she couldn't deny the vehement heat. She's either going to die by being roasted by fire or by being poisoned by the lethal smoke, whichever comes first.
Was she really hoping that she'll still be saved? Was this really her end? Would she really die like this— toasted by angry flames less than twenty four hours before her birthday? Great! The irony of life had decided to prove itself at the door of her death.
She was just shopping with Melissa and her daughter just a while ago. The three of them enjoying the second day of their holiday, they had dragged the twelve year old kid with them. Tomoyo had made sure to contact Nerissa's school; the heiress had made use of the Daidouji name as an excuse – for no one refuses a Daidouji.
It must be Karma then, this is one of the few times she had use her power for such a trivial thing. Was it a sin to let the child spend a day with her mother? As a student, Tomoyo had always been the one who followed and enforced rule by the book; she knew that it wasn't really all that healthy. She had needed to reel Nerissa away from that kind of student life; too much of anything is never good. Besides, Nerissa was with her 'family,' where she would be the safest. Apparently she had been wrong on either one or on both accounts because she seemed being punish as of the moment by means of being burned no less.
If she could choose on how to die, she would have wanted to die like a hero. She would have wanted to die saving another's life may it be from drowning, car crash or the like—anything but dying as pathetic as this—she felt so weak and helpless. A Daidouji shouldn't die like this; a Daidouji wouldn't die like this.
cLaNg! sHiSh! cRaSh! Debris was falling again but this time she didn't move, she couldn't move.
"I just hope that… that kid is safe…" she mumbled and her lungs constricted due to the action. She coughed again, she felt worse than before. She could already feel the dry lining of her throat and she couldn't produce any saliva anymore.
*cough*cough*cough*
That kid. Right, she remembered the main reason why she was trapped her when she could have been one of the first persons who could have left the building. When the fire alarm shook the building, her and her companions were the very first people who were ushered and escorted out of the building. It was most likely Daidouji influence as well. She didn't have her body guards with her, because the boutique was one of the places where she was allowed to go on her own. Most likely, her mother had already talked to the security personnel of the establishment to keep an eye on her every time she visits. It was just her speculation, but it was proven to be an undisputable truth just earlier.
When they reached the main lobby, throngs of people were already running and hurrying out of the building, but the three of them safely guarded. At that same time, Tomoyo saw a kid running in opposite direction of others. Impulsively she removed herself from their security detail and followed the kid. She was only vaguely aware of the concern voices of Melissa and Nerissa as she pursued the kid; she was really concerned about the child. And she felt a tremendous force pulling her and telling her to follow the kid although the major part of her thinking brain told her not to.
She wasn't aware that they had reached fifth floor, her feet seemed to have a mind of its own as it brought her there. The moment she entered the said floor she noticed the sprinkles were already turned on. However, instead of putting out the fire, she felt the water only fueled it. There was no sign of the kid anywhere. When a large part of concrete wall and ceiling behind her fell, she was forced to move forward. She crouched herself and kept moving, unmindful that everything around her was burning at a rate much faster than normal; she kept moving until - now that she couldn't move anymore.
'So much for being a heroine...'
sHiSh! cRaSh! cLaNg! The sound much nearer than ever and she could only move her body to a fetal position.
She will really die in an unbefitting death for a Daidouji. She felt so defeated and scornfully vulnerable. She could have at least found the kid, even if—even if she couldn't really save her—at least they wouldn't die alone.
'Pathetic! Really pathetic Tomoyo' was she really thinking of that child's well being or her own? Tomoyo Amamiya Daidouji will die alone. The only consolation perhaps is that she would die in one of her favorite places. She smiled and as she did, a single tear made its way across her face. She curved herself even more. She shouldn't have the strength to cry but she is crying.
She wanted to lash out and demand the presence of all of her so called suitors who had pledge their bodies and souls to her. Where are they now that she needed them? Stubbornness' might be one of her greatest trait but she knew well enough when she needed help. God! She needed help right now! A miracle to be exact, but every time she the blazing fire too hot to just be a nightmare – she knew she's doomed to failure.
'Great! The beautiful Tomoyo Amamiya Daidouji will die alone and un-pretty!' They might not even recognize her body instantly. She solemnly and sadly smirked despite it all.
She still couldn't wholeheartedly accept that the next few minutes would be the last minutes of her life. She still couldn't give in even if her mind's already doing a trip to her memory lane. She had wanted to believe that she still needed to do something; she hadn't done anything worthy of her life. Places, faces, events and bitterness flooded her remaining consciousness –
'I'm really dying aren't I?' Why else would her life flashed in her mind? She could clearly picture the faces of her invaluable friends and she had wanted to apologize to each of them. She needed to apologize for making them worry and being such a burden even at her death. She wouldn't be able to help Naoko and Yamazaki in their upcoming TV series; she knew they were really excited about that. She hadn't been able to visit Chiharu's Café since Christmas although she had promised to, Chiharu would definitely be disappointed. Her mom and Sakura would really be sad; she hadn't seen her cousin for almost a year now, Tomoyo wanted to wail and weep aloud for the world to hear; only she didn't have strength left in her body.
The thought of hurting Sakura is far more deadly than the scorching flame that surrounds her. The mere thought of her tears is much bitterer than the smoke that she's forced to inhale. She would really inconvenience Syaoran, Touya, Yukito, kero and her uncle Fujitaka once Sakura got hurt. However she could only apologize now for the trouble that she was about to give them.
If she had probably a little of Sakura's power she could save herself from burning. However, she didn't have it and she doubt she would have it. How unfortunate indeed. She haven't event told Sakura that she had met Eriol just recently. Sakura was looking for the mage for some time now. She hadn't even been able to properly say goodbye to her best friend and favorite second cousin the last time they had talked over the phone. '…Sakura…'
Then there was her mom—she—Sonomi Daidouji would definitely be furious and would be left alone. 'Oh mom!' how she wish she was still an infant cuddled by her mother. She wanted to feel safe again, she could shout for help can't she? But, as she tried she felt and remembered her throat was dry. She couldn't do anything now, this was it. No use regretting every single thing.
She would at least get to be with her father right?
Tears poured from her eyes though she didn't make no sound of it. She could die but she wouldn't let death have fun with it. But still tears kept pouring, she was probably crying because the sprinkles had gone off. No of course it wasn't that. She was silently crying because she knew that there were a lot of things that she had still wanted to do. She had always wanted freedom but she never wanted the easy way out of things. Her tears were tears of regret and of happiness. Had she been able to say thank you enough to those she was grateful for? Had she been able to sincerely apologize to those that she must have wronged intentionally or not? Was she able to say the words 'I love you' to those that she truly loved? Had she really been completely honest with her feelings? She couldn't answer for she wasn't sure, she hadn't really had given this things much thought. As her tears continued to pour she knew nothing would make any difference. And she was sure if she was to live her life again, given the same circumstances, she would not change a thing. She quietly cried knowing that even if she survived today, she would still live the way she had always lived.
She's tired, so very exhausted. Her body felt numbed, her head throbbing painfully. She felt really dizzy and heavy and she wanted to puke.
Weak and worn out, helpless and hopeless that's how she felt. She had wanted to appear somehow strong until the very end but that might be the last wish she could have and like the others it would be left unfulfilled.
Sleepy, she felt really sleepy now.
Her brain flashed places, events, things and faces that she hold dear for the very last time as another tear crossed her dirty yet still very beautiful face. She wanted to sleep and rest, yes, rest seemed to be what she needed. With one last long looked at the fire and black smoke that surrounds her; her consciousness slowly faded. The wind carried two words that forever be engraved to everyone she cared for; it was her solemn message of apology. Two words. "I'm sorry."

Tomoyo was very much unmindful of the fact that someone who owns red blaring orbs was intently watching her from a distance. It wouldn't matter anyway. Her normal amethyst eyes wouldn't see her even if the spectator was just an inch away from her.
After a couple of minutes, Miyu was sure that the heiress was really and deeply unconscious. She had made herself visible as she cautiously traipsed forward to the ethereal lying form of Tomoyo. The fire nor the smoke seemed not to hurt or bother her, it even made way to her, creating a path as she walk.
"She really is beautiful" she mumbled as she crouched down. She observed that the features of the heiress that she was so enamored with still clearly evident even if her face was unclean. If she was to be reborn again in this lifetime and rule amongst man, she had decided that she would take the body of this lying girl.
She really enjoyed watching her victim as she very slowly succumbed to defeat. It had taken longer than she had expected –much longer. Who would have thought that the delicate and pure looking lady had a stubborn quality? It was a complete contrast on how she looked like. Nevertheless, she extremely enjoyed the show; it just makes conquering her body much worth it.
The wine colored haired lass move to touch Tomoyo; she would need to transport her to her room for the ritual to—
~sWissssH~ a spine-chilling aura filled the air around her and without a second thought she disappeared leaving the heiress still sprawled in fetal position on the floor.

A bright blue aura filled the entirety of the building from roof to the basement engulfing every nook and crannies. As the light enveloped everything, it halted the ever growing fire abruptly but not entirely extinguishing it.
Eriol could feel the source of the energy just a floor below the roof deck and instantaneously descended from floating few feet away at the top of the building and passed through the roof deck and settled him-self on the fifth floor.
He heard a pOOf! from somewhere even before he could scan the place; and then the source was gone the second his feet made contact on the ground.
"Shit!" Why is he always a second late? It seemed like he was always just a step behind everything.
cRaSh! cLaNg! sHiSh! Sound of clattering and falling debris distracted him from his thoughts. Instinctively, his head turned toward where the sound came from.
That was when he noticed a body sprawled on the floor several feet from where he stood.
Before he knew it, his glowing form of dark blue and feet was already finding its way to the body – 'or corpse?'
One of the few things that he immediately noticed was the body wasn't burned – yet. He found it very suspicious because as he observed everything that surrounded them – was already charred and burned to crisped. The only exception was that sole body; it's as if it was somehow protected. There was an obvious trace of a circular something around it that must have shielded it from the fire.
Cautiously and very slowly he neared the body and his mind in doubt- for all he knew – it might be the culprit.
The long wavy purplish-grayish tresses that were spreading out throughout the figure were the first thing he saw and though he was completely uncertain how he knew or why was he so sure who the person was by simply glancing at her hair, his feet impulsively seemed to have their own mind. Then somehow he had flown right next to her without casting a flying spell. He just needed to make sure that she's alright.
It didn't take long before he had confirmed it – not that he needed any confirmation –he didn't have a single doubt in his mind, body and soul that she was Tomoyo. He crouched and put his right hand under her head and slowly adjusted her on his arms. He brushed the sticky hair that covered her face.
Thump! Thump! Thump! It was his heart that was beating loudly and he could almost feel it jumping out from his chest. Damn! Why was he so nervous? Panicking wouldn't help him – especially her. Determined to calm his thumping heart, he breathed in and breathed out.
His eyes gently looked at the unconscious form of the heiress and with all the mildness that he had, he caressed Tomoyo's cheek trying to wipe it clean and wake her up at the same time. "Daidouji-chan?" he called out. No response.
He tried to slap her with enough force to wake her up but not strong enough to hurt her, the last thing he wanted to do was to add more bodily harm than what she had already experienced. "Daidouji-chan?" Still, no reaction.
Then, he placed his hand just below her ear wanting to feel her pulse—
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Shit! If his heart would just stopped beating so loudly, then he would be able to hear Tomoyo's pulse rate. Feeling a little annoyed, he inwardly commanded himself 'Be still my loudly beating freaking heart'. After that, he loudly inhaled and exhaled, a 'pheww' sound erupting from his vocal cords then tried to feel for her pulse again.
"C'mon Daidouji-chan, you've got to give me something here…" He still felt nothing.
Dread overwhelmed him but he refused to panic – he's already panicky enough as it was. Then he carefully adjusted Tomoyo's body on him – then he tried to feel for pulse again and there was a silent plea of 'Please let her be alright' that was running through his mind; the words were spoken like a mantra though he was completely unconscious of it.
Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! It was a sound that's faint but didn't go unnoticed from Eriol's straining ears, he tried to strain his ears a little more hoping he wasn't just hearing it.
Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! He heard it the second time and his hope rose a little higher.
Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! Ba- Dump! There was the sound for the third time andEriol released his breath that he wasn't aware he was holding. Relief washed his features and managed to smile a little. Although Tomoyo's pulse rate was really faint and slow, Eriol was sure that it was enough for the moment. "Good job, Daidouji-chan" he gently uttered as he caressed her not so clean cheek again. He expressed relief as he said "You surely frightened the hell out of me for a minute there" then he chuckled. He was really more than glad that she was alright.
If he was on his right mind that time, he would have noticed and contemplated what he had just said. He surely wouldn't be able to remember the last time he 'the great reincarnation of Clow Reed' felt scared.
Eriol's mind didn't have time to contemplate about him or anything else for that matter. His attention was so focused on the barely breathing gorgeous lady that he was holding. Although the heiress proved to be alive, he knew that she wasn't a hundred percent alright.
Flames that were caused by dark magic were much fatal, not only that it burns everything at a much faster pace, the smoke that it produced was also much more poisonous than any existing mortal poison. Even if the heiress seemed unburned, he was sure that she had inhaled a large amount of the lethal air.
Eriol adjusted Tomoyo once again, he placed her head on his right arm holding her shoulder for balance, making sure it's secured enough not to fall over. Then he pulled out his handkerchief using his free hand and chanted a healing spell on it. The fabric glowed dark blue lining and was damp enough to be use, he settled it over Tomoyo's mouth moistening her chapped lips. The heiress didn't stir; He didn't make any move to remove the cloth over her mouth and then after a few seconds, she glowed with the same dark blue aura.
"Good. Just keep breathing it in Daidouji-chan" he murmured. He knew that must have been a second late capturing the mastermind however, he did make it in time to save his friend.
Why does the word friends just didn't seem to suit his current relationship with the heiress? They were merely acquaintances not friends right? Soon as that thought crossed his mind, he let it go; there was no time to think about things like that. He was just sincerely glad that he made it in time for her.
The moment he had seen the black flame, he had ordered his guardians to practically teleport to the burning building. Then the moment he was on range, he casted a spell that would stop the growing fire at a very alarming rate. He knew he couldn't extinguish it for it would be unnatural, so he didn't. What he just did is make sure that it wouldn't grow any bigger than it was. He had also made sure that the fire would helplessly die soon as it made contact with water. Moreover, the spell should restrict anyone who has negative aura from exiting the building. The next thing he did was order his guardians to split and save anyone that might still be inside. His order was clear, if they encounter the culprit, they were to immediately inform him. He would personally deal with it.
Apparently he used the wrong spell; he should have used the one that restricts the use of any dimensional hole. That's the only way the culprit could have escape. Eriol let out a defeated sigh upon realizing this. He still hasn't move an inch from his position, right arm carrying Tomoyo's head and left hand pressing his bewitched hanky over her mouth. Both of them were still glowing in dark blue aura.
sHiSh! cRaSh! cLaNg!
His eyes that were intently watching Tomoyo's facial expression was forced to move by the sound. Slowly his eyes travelled from her face to his surrounding, and as he observed the damaged, one would be forced to think the fire had been blazing for hours even though it hadn't been twenty minutes since the fire had started. Then, his ears had picked up the sound of wailing sirens of ambulances and fire trucks and he could only imagine how chaotic it was outside.
Suddenly, he felt a tug in his arm and his head snapped back to Tomoyo. Tomoyo's eyebrows were twitching and she was almost frowning though her eyes were still closed. Then Eriol heard her whimper and moan in what he thought was due to pain. Wanting to ease her pain, Eriol moved Tomoyo's body closer to him whispering "It's alright Daidouji-chan, you're safe now…"as he removed his left hand from the handkerchief though he made sure that the hanky was still mildly pressed over her mouth. But then, Tomoyo moaned again and this time a little louder like she's crying as her head move from left to right. Eriol gripped her shoulder tighter. "Hush now, hush… you're safe… you're safe…" he soothingly mumbled as he slowly rocked her, slumping his butt on the ground to hold the heiress better—Splash! There was a shallow puddle of water beneath them that he assumed was due to the sprinkle earlier which he didn't notice because he was busy verifying her condition. That was the only time he noticed how drenched she was – and now he is too – from his ass downwards.
He inwardly sighed. 'Great!' as he continuously rocked the heiress and had kept addressing her with soothing words; he never move away from Tomoyo. He brushed away the wisps of sticky hair that managed to cover her face. Trailing the long strand of her hair with his fingers he abruptly stopped when his fingers reached past her chin hovering over the skin of her neck.
When his eyes realized Tomoyo's disheveled condition. He audibly gulped. He couldn't remember if he had ever gulped that loud in all his lifetimes.
Tomoyo's clothes were wet and were hugging her body much too tight for comfort – for Eriol's comfort. The temperature went up a notch and it wasn't because of the fire that surrounded them. Eriol's uneasiness rose up tenfold when he noticed the first three buttons of Tomoyo's floral blouse were open revealing her milky flushed skin and a little too much of her cleavage that was protected by her lacy black brassiere. He gulped again.
Eriol desperately wanted to tear away his eyes from the view; he felt he was taking advantage of the unconscious gorgeous female. Shutting his eyes as he could, he forced himself to look anywhere else but – when he opened them his breath was caught in his throat 'Oh darn! I better look away… look away' – for this time, he had the perfect view of Tomoyo's navel and toned stomach since her clothes were scrunched up. 'So much for looking away…'
He tried to turn his head away from Tomoyo's body however, instead of looking away from the heiress his head somehow moved lower from her navel. This time his pants went a little tighter than the usual. "Damn!" he cussed. Why was he looking at her perfectly shaped legs that were clearly visible due to the soaked navy cotton trousers that's carelessly hugging her legs? And if his eyes would just turn on a different angle he would be able to see the curve of her as—'Eriol! Stop!' He could feel that his pants were much tighter than earlier. He needed to control this 'Fuck! Why was hormones created again?'
He kept telling himself to calm down and shut his eyes tight; though to his utter dismay when he thought that he had his control back and opened his eyes, his eyes feasted on more flesh of Tomoyo; he had unconsciously moved Tomoyo's blouse higher than before revealing much more than earlier. His breath was caught in his throat for the second time in just one minute. "Good God! Eriol! Why must you act like this? Tomoyo is your friend! Put your mind out of the gutter! NOW!" He knew he was scolding himself but to hell with it! He forcefully shut his eyes tighter than ever if that was even possible and breathed in and out several times, willing himself to forget the images that were nothing but pure torture to his sanity. Why did Tomoyo have to be beautiful and sexy even in the most unlikely time and occasion? – Whoa! Wait! Wait! Where did that come from? Not that it wasn't true but 'Fuck! This is not helping at all!' he told himself when he had realized where his thoughts going. He sighed dejectedly, never opening his eyes and never moving an inch; his right hand below Tomoyo's head across her shoulders like a pillow and his left hand just hovering over her fair skinned, damped stomach. "By Heavens! This is seriously dangerous!" Why were there hormones in the first place again? And why couldn't these hormones be aroused at the right place and time?
Eriol was seriously frustrated and confused; he couldn't comprehend how the mere revealing state of one Tomoyo Daidouji could stir him this much even at the wrong time and place. It's wasn't like he hadn't seen such images before. He had his fair share of such trivialities and he had seen and done much more. "I really don't have time for this" he mumbled still with closed eyes. He obliged himself to inhale and exhale as he clenched his fists. He needed to think of much more importance things – like going out of the building and bringing the heiress to the nearest ambulance to have herself checked. She would definitely catch a cold or worse if she stayed at her current state for much longer. "That's it Eriol, that's what you should think." He commended his self.
Before opening his eyes; he had deliberated on how he would do just what he had planned without being distracted. And just like what he had decided he turned his head upward before slowly opening them. First he would put Tomoyo down and then he would cover her with his blazer. Afterwards he would carry her out of the building. After repeating what he needed to do three times in his mind, Eriol turned his head ever so slowly down and concentrated on her face. Tomoyo seemed to be calmer now and he felt at ease. Then, with all delicateness he could muster, he put her down. The moment Tomoyo's head made in contact with the floor, Eriol hastily removed his blue and worn out blazer leaving him in his black wife beater. Keeping his blush under control, he covered the heiress as much as he can; fortunately he was able to hide the essential parts that had affected him in more than ways than one. He had made sure that the handkerchief was securely place on her mouth as he uttered "This handkerchief should restore you to health much faster. So make sure never to let it go Daidouji-chan." And when he was satisfied, he readied himself to carry her, he scooped her carefully, his right arms under his head and across her back while his left under her knees already prepared for the added weight as he stood, but was astonished as to how light the heiress was. He swore he could even play jumping ropes while carrying her.
"You're so light, Daidouji –chan…" he uttered as he eyed the heiress solemn face; the handkerchief still covering her mouth.
"Master?…"Eriol was visibly startled and every single strand of Eriol's hair stood out to the end when he heard Nakuro's voice and for some strange reason his face heat up. How long have they been there? Why didn't he sense them? Is that how concentrated he was with – ahem making sure Tomoyo's respected? He knew that even if his back was facing his guardians they could see how beet red he is. He could only wished they would think it's the fire and wouldn't say any –
"Master? Why are you beet red?" Ruby Moon inquired with an evident concern tone.
"Leave it to Nakuro to do the opposite!" Eriol mumbled.
"Master?"That was Spinel this time. The mage could only sigh 'Seriously I give up!' then he turned to face his guardians. Ruby Moon's eyes visibly turned round at the sight of his master carrying a woman wrapped in his master's blazer whom she felt familiar.
In a split second realization hit her but "Is that Daidouji-san Master?" Spinel inquired stealing her moment. "You're rude Suppi-kun! I was the one who should have asked that?" she bellowed with both her hands on her hips. Spinel with all his glory in true form just raised an eyebrow and calmly replied "says who?"
Eriol wasn't able to stop Ruby Moon as she replied "Think carefully Suppi-kun! I was the first who called Master first then you second. Then who do you think should have spoken next?" after crossing her arms over her chest and furrowing her eyebrows.
"He who has something to say that is worth mentioning …" Spinel replied indifferently. Nakuro's face turned an angry red and smoke was visibly coming out from her ears. "Enough!" Eriol's clear powerful and calm voice intervened. He couldn't allow their conversation to continue where it was headed. Nakuro just pouted while Spinel as always acted unaffected. "What do you have for me?" Eriol inquired.
Almost immediately the two guardians stood in full attention. "Master we apologized to say that we weren't able to see or detect the whereabouts of the culprit anywhere inside the building, we've already swept the place." Nakuro started with a professional tone. Eriol nodded "other than that?" he inquired next.
The two guardians stiffened momentarily and Eriol raised one of his eyebrows then Spinel spoke with an unfeeling yet sad tone. "We have five casualties Master." Pause. "Three burned black and two poisoned."
Silence.
Eriol gazed at his charge and could only be thankful. If he arrived any second later, Tomoyo could have been the number sixth.
"Well done. Let us leave this place. Daidouji-chan is in need of medical attention." Eriol ordered. He would have like to heal the heiress completely however, it would be unnatural to do so. And with one swift movement the three of them was gone leaving the fifth floor with nothing but lonely flames.
