Author's Note: This poem is about a long, unbearable day, that feels like it will never end. Each stanza is composed is a haiku, each signifying a different part of the day: dawn, afternoon, evening, night.
A Day of Hell
Dawning affliction,
Pain rekindled, poisoned thorns Sprouting from frost earth.
Swollen fire, mocking,
inferno, scorching; ashen Seared flames, blistering
Sun waning, dwindling,
Setting; rooted in deep earth Diminishing hope.
Dark suffocation.
Black sky; starless apathy,
Sleepless slumbering.
